There is a growing tension within the Body of Christ that cannot be ignored. Across churches, denominations, and ministries, we are witnessing a concerning rise in division, offense, and fragmentation. While diversity within the Body has always existed, and indeed reflects the multifaceted wisdom of God—the spirit of division is something entirely different. It weakens, distracts, and ultimately undermines the very mission Christ entrusted to His Church.At a time when the world is becoming increasingly unstable and morally uncertain, the Church should be shining brighter than ever. A House Divided Cannot StandJesus Himself warned in Matthew 12:25, “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand.” These words carry prophetic weight for us today. Division is not a minor inconvenience; it is a strategic attack against the effectiveness of the Church.The enemy understands something many believers forget: unity is powerful. In Acts 2, when the early Church was in one accord, the Holy Spirit was poured out in power. Thousands were saved, communities were transformed, and the Gospel spread rapidly. Unity creates a dwelling place for God's presence. Division, on the other hand, grieves the Spirit and stifles revival.A Prophetic Warning for This HourWe are living in a season where the return of Jesus is drawing nearer. While no one knows the exact day or hour, the signs of the times are evident. Scripture speaks of increasing lawlessness, deception, and a falling away. In such a time, the Church must be alert, prepared, and united.Division within the Body is not just a relational issue, it is a distraction from preparation. Jesus' prayer in John 17 was not for uniformity, but for unity: “That they all may be one… that the world may believe that You sent Me.” Our unity is directly connected to our witness. A Unified Church in the Last DaysAs we look toward the return of Jesus, the vision is not of a fractured, defeated Church, but of a glorious, unified Bride. Ephesians 5:27 speaks of a Church that is “glorious, not having spot or wrinkle… holy and without blemish.”This kind of Church does not happen by accident. It is formed through surrender, obedience, and a commitment to walk in unity. It requires leaders and believers alike to lay down their agendas and pursue the heart of God.A Final ExhortationNow is not the time for division, it is the time for alignment. It is the time to repair what has been broken, to forgive where there has been offense, and to stand together in the truth of the Gospel.Let us be a people who choose unity over division, humility over pride, and love over offense. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith, and prepare our hearts for His return.May we be found faithful. May we be found ready. Nickademus de la Rosa is no stranger to mountaintops, of both the literal and metaphorical variety.  For much of the 2010s he was at the top of the ultrarunning world, rattling off podium appearances at some of the longest, toughest and most iconic events in the sport, and boasting a list of completions almost as long as the races themselves. Of all the highs, perhaps none was greater than his finish at the 2013 Barkley Marathons, a race often deemed the toughest in the world, with only 26 finishes in its 30+ year history.  Yet, while a victory on one of the sport's greatest stages brought the promise of a legacy cemented, it also served to further deepen an identity rooted in performance, one perpetuated by a constant striving for the next win. While de la Rosa's immense talent for the trails allowed him to dictate his own story for years, his performance-centric identity collapsed when an abrupt diagnosis and open-heart surgery forced him to retire from competition in 2017. What followed were years of soul-searching and grappling to rediscover a sense of self outside of sport.  That journey ultimately led him to mental performance coaching, using his education in sport and performance psychology and the hard-earned lessons from his own career to help athletes separate their self-worth from performance and free themselves to compete at their best. Centering on Hebrews 12:1-2, Elder Gary Massengill delivers a Christ-centered message titled “What Are You Looking For?” This sermon challenges listeners to examine the focus of their lives and directs their attention to the One who is worthy of it all: Jesus Christ, the Author and Finisher of our faith. Drawing from the powerful exhortation to run the Christian race with patience while “looking unto Jesus,” Elder Massengill reminds us that salvation is not based on human effort, religious works, or personal merit. Our hope rests entirely in the finished work of Christ on the cross of Calvary. Before the foundation of the world, when no one in heaven, earth, or beneath the earth could be found worthy, God provided the perfect Lamb. Jesus willingly left the glory of heaven, took on human flesh, and became the sacrifice for the sins of mankind. The message reflects on the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ, especially during the Easter season. Jesus endured the cross, suffered shame, and shed His precious blood so that every sinner could be saved by the grace of God. His cry of “It is finished” declared that the plan of redemption was complete forever. Nothing can be added to it, and nothing can be taken away. Elder Massengill beautifully illustrates salvation through the Old Testament tabernacle. The single door into the tabernacle points to Christ as the only way to the Father. The laver speaks of cleansing, the candlestick represents light, and the showbread reminds us that Jesus is the Bread of Life who sustains His people. When Christ died, the veil was torn from top to bottom, opening direct access to God through our great High Priest, Jesus Christ. Throughout the sermon, listeners are asked a simple but searching question: What are you looking for? Are you looking for fulfillment in the world, or are you looking unto Jesus? The world cannot satisfy the deepest needs of the soul. True peace, joy, forgiveness, and eternal life are found only in Him. The message also highlights the incredible love of Christ. While we were still sinners, He came to where we were, reaching into the depths of our brokenness to offer salvation. Through the convicting work of the Holy Spirit, He continues to call hearts to repentance and faith today. Elder Massengill reminds us that Jesus was looking for something as well. As He hung upon the cross, He was looking ahead to those who would believe, trust Him, and receive the gift of salvation. Even now, He is still drawing souls, making intercession for His people, and preparing a place for those who belong to Him. The sermon concludes with a glorious vision of heaven. A place where there are no more tears, no more death, no more sorrow, and no more pain. A place where believers will be reunited with loved ones, gather at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb, and most importantly, see Jesus face to face. While in the flesh, He was tempted and tried in every way such as we are, yet without sin! * We, therefore, are called to look to Him - the Author and Finisher of our faith - while we run this race of life. * Last week, we began to consider this final section of exhortations from the author of the letter to his readers. The first half of these final exhortations were those which focused upon our relationship with God. We were warned to not be "carried about with various and strange doctrines" but to have our heart stabilized by grace. We were challenged to willingly suffer with Christ in the reproaches which the world brings against Him and those who follow Him. Anna would rather let her kids swear and teach them the right way to do so. Others disagree. What do you think about your kids swearing? They were at Edgar's sister's house, and their son threw a baseball in the home and damaged their TV screen. It wasn't a ton of damage, but it clipped the bottom and put a weird mark on the screen. Edgar and Marie offered to buy them a replacement TV, they agreed. Now, Edgar's been thinking about it, and texted his brother-in-law and asked if they could have the broken tv because it would be great for their basement living area, even if it is slightly busted.  His brother-in-law said they're going to use it in their bedroom. He's upset and since they bought them the TV, they should be able to keep the old one or be reimbursed. Marie says that he needs to let it go, it was $700, and not worth a family argument. He says his brother-in-law is cheap and should never have accepted the offer in the first place, all the kids were roughhousing! What do you think? Tom has a chance to win $400!
