"And this is what I should've said, I thought it, but I kept it hid." Lil' Silky goes FULL video essay mode with a 3000+ word write-up on cutesy references and...circumlocutory filmmaking!(?) He's out for blood when it comes to bloated, non-specific filmmaking and he's keen to tell you why. Also, Marvel rants may or may not be featured. The Silkster follows it up with a (late) review on Bullet Train (22:08), that action movie that was on a bunch of billboards for a while.

"They're called ORDERS." Lil' Silky goes Mach 10 and unpacks the cultural phenomenon that is Top Gun: Maverick. The Silkster talks ageing movie heroes, a return to cinemas post-pandemic and whether movies are back in 2022 (hint: they are).

'Open the pod bay doors HAL.'  Good Brother and Lil' Silky celebrate their 6-month birthday with Stanley Kubrick's masterpiece (and Lil' SIlky's favourite film) '2001: A Space Odyssey'.  The boys talk apes, emotive film-making and ignore all questions about what the final half an hour of the film really means.

'IT TAKES AN OCEAN NOT TO BREAK!!'  Good Brother and Lil' Silky won't fuck us over this week as they take on the documentary 'Mistaken for Strangers', starring The National and Tom Berninger.  The boys talk their favourite National songs and admire this hilarious, self-aware and (maybe?) true story.

Baumbach? Gerwig? Stiller? MURPHY???  Lil' Silky and Good Brother follow their ears and tackle Noah Baumbach's 2010 LA moody comedy 'Greenberg'.  The number one question on the boys' minds is the debut soundtrack from LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy. 'What is brunch?' In the epic conclusion to an Earth-shaking podcasting event, Good Brother, Lil' Silky and Dani finally give their takes on Zack Synder's Justice League.  The group talk slo-mo, Batman's goofy goggles and the best ways to stay awake during a four hour film.

'Something is definitely bleeding.'  In the first part of a mammoth podcasting event, Good Brother and Lil' Silky are joined by 'Big Thoughts, Little Minds' co-host and part-time DC expert Dani and take on Zack Snyder's Justice League.  The group talk their history with superheroes, compare their own intelligence to Lex Luther and ultimately end up rating the 2017 cut of the film (spoiler alert: not positively).  To be continued...  P.s. Good Brother and Lil' Silky choose hope in a derelict 2027 UK with Alfonso Cuaron's ambitious and ahead of it's time 'Children of Men'.  The boys talk Blu-Ray, Clive Owen's detailed face and even disagree on a few things for once!

LIZARD VERSUS MONKEE. CHOOSE YOUR SIDE.  Good Brother and Lil' Silky tackle two monster films this week, the brand new cinema event 2021's 'Godzilla vs. Kong' and the weird English dub of 1962's 'King Kong vs. Godzilla'.  The boys talk wrastling, academic interpretations of the two behemoths and may just be joined by a surprise guest.

'I DON'T WANT TO BE A PIE!'  Good Brother and Lil' Silky learn to fly as they revisit Aardman Animation's 2000 stop-motion classic 'Chicken Run'.  The boys recall some of their favourite childhood memories, discuss Mel Gibson's Buzz Lightyear impression and chalk up a victory for female representation.

'Let's gut the friggin' nerd!'  Good Brother and Lil' Silky wire in this week to David Fincher's 2010 critically acclaimed biopic 'The Social Network'.  What's better than a million dollars? The boys ponder this question and talk super-villain Timberlake, super-sexist Sorkin and super-saiyan Trent Reznor.

Good Brother and Lil' Silky have their bloody hearts warmed this week with Lee Isaac Chung's 2020 award-winner 'Minari'.  The boys try to not tear up as they talk beautiful soundtracks, terrific performances and good old-fashioned Reagan family values.

"This is no dream! This is really happening!"  Lil' Silky and Good Brother get proper spooked with 1968's horror classic 'Rosemary's Baby'.  The boys talk flamboyant Satanists, killer camera work and socially inept policemen.    Content warning: This film and episode involves themes of sexual assault which may be disturbing to some listeners.

Lil' Silky and Good Brother are joined once again by Bad Brother (FKA Neb) to take on Wong Kar Wai's beautiful, deliberate 2000 masterpiece 'In the Mood for Love'.  The group talk the ridiculously drawn-out production of the film, Maggie Cheung's killer fashion and (for some reason) Lil' Silky's first year uni assignment on Wong's work.

Lil' Silky and Good Brother are joined by film aficionado Ben to explore David Robert Mitchell's 2018 postmodern noir comedy-drama 'Under the Silver Lake'.  The group talk Hitchcock, Spiderman, Jesus, David Lynch and all things LA as they try to crack the code of the Dog Killer.

What is Soylent Green?  Set in 2022, this 70s sci-fi flick explores a future in which the Earth has been devastated by the greenhouse effect and overpopulation.  Lil' Silky and Good Brother search 'Soylent Green' poignant insights for us in 2021 facing a not-so-disimillar future.  Will it provide comfort for our raging climate anxieties?

4:3 aspect ratio? Check. Black and white? Check. Subtitles? Check.  Good Brother and Lil' Silky go back in time to post-WWII Poland with Paweł Pawlikowski's beautiful romance drama 'Cold War'.  The boys go into depth admiring the art-direction, cinematography and performances - yet still find a way to shit-talk 'A Star is Born'. 

A long-ass episode for a long-ass movie.  Good Brother and Lil' Silky once again enter the Nolan-verse and tackle 'Interstellar', this time with movie buff Ellen.  The group talk the inevitable comparisons to '2001', Nolan's aggressive apoliticism and do their best Casey Affleck impressions. ***Apologies for the minor audio issues***

Good Brother and Lil' Silky switch it up and revisit their favourite concert movie from their youth - 2003's 'Red Hot Chili Peppers Live at Slane Castle.'  In excruciating detail that is only likely to interest them, the boys talk about their teenage obsession with this concert and question how Anthony Kiedis ever got away with wearing 3/4 red jeans. 

This week on Ego Hour, Lil' Silky and Good Brother are joined by Alanna (from the 'Illiterature' podcast) and immerse themselves in her favourite film; Francis Ford Coppola's 'Bram Stroker's Dracula'.  The crew talk Vampire D, bad British accents and (hot???) Garry Oldman.

Once again joined by Rob from Hess Royale, opinions are split and tensions are high as Lil' Silky and Good Brother dissect Charlie Kaufman's latest 'I'm Thinking of Ending Things'.  Is it pretentious? Is it genius? The boys get meta and talk ambiguity, A24 and David Lynch.

Feel it.'  Joined by special guests Rob (from 'Hess Royale') and Ben, Lil' Silky and Good Brother perform a high intensity temporal pincer operation and break down Christopher Nolan's latest film 'Tenet'.  The boys ponder what happened when, who did what how and why do anything at all?
