Marcus had a chance to hang out with Actor/Comedian/Voiceover Icon Patrick Warburton. You know him from such well-known roles as Puddy on Seinfeld, and the voice of Buzz Lightyear, Joe from Family Guy, and The Tick (among many others). We discussed his character “Mayor Windancer” in the new movie Zootopia 2 (out in theaters 11/26) and how much fun he had in that role (He calls him an absolutely preposterous “gaffoon.”). We also talked about what his favorite role has been, what it's like to transition from the screen to the VO booth, to the (stand-up comedy) stage. Plus how his family keeps him in shape, in check, and whether or not they care if he's famous. Such a fun hang!Catch him in Zootopia 2: In theaters November 26th!

What if innovation wasn't about having more resources, but about unleashing the creativity you already possess? In this episode of World's Greatest Business Thinkers, host Nick Hague sits down with Duncan Wardle, former Head of Innovation and Creativity at Disney, to share actionable strategies for fostering innovation in any organization. From sending Buzz Lightyear to space to transforming slum lighting with water bottles, Duncan reveals practical tools, playful mindsets, and techniques like "Yes And" and "What If" to break conventional thinking. Leaders at any level will gain insights to unlock creativity, drive collaboration, and generate breakthrough ideas. What You Will Learn: How to overcome the "river of thinking" that limits creativity The "Yes And" framework for building collaborative ideas instead of shutting them down with "No, Because" Encouraging playfulness and nurturing a creative thinking environment The "What If" tool for breaking rules and generating breakthrough ideas How to use the "Stargazer" framework to select the most promising innovative ideas Why intuition and empathy will become increasingly valuable skills in an AI-dominated future The power of asking "Why" five times to uncover true consumer insights and innovation opportunities How to create effective innovation processes without massive resources or budgets If you enjoyed this episode, make sure to subscribe, rate, and review it on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and YouTube Podcasts. Instructions on how to do this are here. Duncan Wardle Bio: Duncan Wardle is the former Head of Innovation & Creativity at Disney, where he led groundbreaking initiatives across Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm, and Disney Parks. Today, he serves as an independent innovation consultant, helping organisations embed creativity and strategic innovation, and regularly contributes to Fast Company and Harvard Business Review. He teaches innovation masterclasses at Notre Dame, Stanford, and Yale, delivers inspirational keynotes worldwide, and runs workshops that combine creative ideation with actionable strategies, empowering teams to generate breakthrough ideas and measurable results. Quotes: "Here's the problem - when you ask a room full of adults, 'hands up who's creative,' less than 3% of them put their hands up. I wanted to create a toolkit that had three principles: take the intimidation out of innovation and make it accessible to normal, hardworking, busy people, and make creativity tangible for people uncomfortable with ambiguity. Far more important, make it fun, give people tools they choose to use when you and I are not around." "When that door is shut, you're only working with your conscious brain. Do you know what percentage of your brain is conscious - 13% conscious, 87% subconscious. But when the door is shut, you don't have access to it." "Stop being scared. Stop chasing quarterly results - you could iterate up to 2020, but you don't get to iterate in the post-pandemic world, you innovate or you die. The challenge is this: innovation is hard, and nobody's made it tangible, easy, and fun." "Two very simple words from the world of improv that have the power to turn a small idea into a big one really quickly. You can always take a big idea and value engineer it down, but it's very hard to take a small one and turn it around the other way. Far more importantly, it transfers the power of my idea, which never goes anywhere inside an organization, to our idea and accelerates its opportunity to get done." How to Do a Full Day at Magic Kingdom in OrlandoFor many travelers, Magic Kingdom is the heart of Walt Disney World — the park that captures the essence of Disney storytelling and wonder. With iconic attractions, timeless parades, and dazzling nighttime fireworks, it's where fairytales truly come to life.Trying to see and do everything in one day can feel overwhelming, but with a solid plan and a few insider tips, you can experience nearly all of the park's highlights without feeling rushed. Here's our complete guide to doing a full day at Magic Kingdom in OrlandoArrive Early and Plan AheadTo make the most of your visit, arrive before park opening. Give yourself time for parking, security, and transportation to the park entrance via ferry or monorail. If you're staying at a Disney Resort, you'll have access to Early Entry, which allows you to enter select areas 30 minutes before the general public — an excellent advantage for tackling the most popular rides first. Before arriving, download the My Disney Experience app. You'll use it for everything from checking wait times to ordering food, making Genie+ selections, and finding character meet-and-greet schedules.Morning: Tackle the Big AttractionsThe first few hours after opening are the best time to check off the most in-demand attractions, especially before the midday crowds arrive. Begin in Fantasyland and Tomorrowland with:Seven Dwarfs Mine Train – The most popular ride in Magic Kingdom; do this first or reserve a Lightning Lane.Peter Pan's Flight – A whimsical classic that fills up quickly.Space Mountain – A must for thrill-seekers, this indoor coaster is best early in the day.Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin – A fun, interactive game that families love.If you're using Genie+, schedule your first Lightning Lane for Jungle Cruise or Big Thunder Mountain Railroad later in the morning.Late Morning: Adventureland and FrontierlandOnce the early rush fades, head to Adventureland and Frontierland for a mix of action, humor, and nostalgia.Top attractions include:Pirates of the Caribbean – A fan favorite with an immersive atmosphere and cool indoor queue.Jungle Cruise – Famous for its witty skippers and lighthearted storytelling.Big Thunder Mountain Railroad – A high-energy ride through the Old West.Tiana's Bayou Adventure – The newly reimagined log flume experience based on The Princess and the Frog. After these, you'll be ready for a well-deserved lunch break.Lunch and Midday RestFor lunch, Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Café in Frontierland offers quick, customizable Tex-Mex dishes. If you prefer a sit-down meal, The Crystal Palace on Main Street serves a buffet with Winnie the Pooh and friends — great for families and air-conditioned comfort.Use the early afternoon to slow down. Orlando's heat and crowds peak between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., so plan indoor attractions or shows:Haunted Mansion – A spooky but family-friendly favorite. It's a Small World – Classic Disney charm and a great place to rest.Mickey's PhilharMagic – A 3D show that offers both entertainment and a cooldown.Afternoon: Explore and EnjoyBy mid-afternoon, take time to explore smaller attractions or revisit a favorite ride. Grab a refreshing Dole Whip from Aloha Isle or a Mickey pretzel from The Lunching Pad.Keep an eye on the Festival of Fantasy Parade schedule — it's worth seeing at least once, especially for first-time visitors. The best viewing areas are near Liberty Square or Frontierland, where crowds are lighter.Evening: Dinner and FireworksPlan your dinner around 5:30 or 6:00 p.m. so you can enjoy the nighttime entertainment afterward. For quick service, Casey's Corner offers classic hot dogs and a great view of the castle. For a quieter sit-down meal, The Plaza Restaurant provides a relaxed atmosphere and comfort food favorites. After dinner, claim your spot for “Happily Ever After,” the park's signature fireworks and projection show. For the best view, stand in the hub area in front of Cinderella Castle or along Main Street, U.S.A. Arrive at least 30–45 minutes early for the best experience.End of the Day: Last Rides and FarewellWhen the fireworks end, linger a bit. Crowds will surge toward the exit immediately, so this is a perfect time to enjoy one or two final attractions. Rides like Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, and Space Mountain often have much shorter waits late at night. Before leaving, take a slow walk down Main Street, U.S.A.. The lights, music, and view of the castle make for a peaceful and memorable ending to your day.Essential Tips for a Perfect Magic Kingdom DayWear comfortable shoes – Expect to walk several miles.Stay hydrated – Bring a refillable bottle; there are plenty of water stations.Use Genie+ wisely – Prioritize high-demand attractions for maximum value.Take breaks – Duck into shows or shops to recharge.Enjoy the atmosphere – The best moments aren't always on rides.A single day at Magic Kingdom can be as magical as an entire vacation if you plan it right. With an early start, a flexible itinerary, and a few well-timed breaks, you can experience the best rides, shows, and dining without feeling rushed.Magic Kingdom remains the most iconic of all Disney parks — and even one full day here is enough to remind us why it's called The Most Magical Place on Earth.

Why do we love robots so much? Especially as toys? And for so long? I think it's because toy robots perfectly reflect embody the intersection of imagination, play, and technology. Robots reflect our fundamental curiosity about life itself—what it means to move, think, or act independently. For children, they are magical objects that blur the line between the inanimate and the animate, allowing them to project stories of adventure, control, and companionship. For adults, robot toys oftenreflect deeper cultural hopes and anxieties about progress, automation, and the future. In this episode, Chris talksto Jamie Zhang, Senior Director and CFO of Robosen. The company has made a splash with its super, sophisticated robots based on Buzz Lightyear and Optimus Prime. In September 2025, they have introduced a Mini line starting with eight Toy Story characters and many more to come. Jamie and Chris talk about robotics, developing a line of well-priced, yet sophisticated best friends that give consumers new ways to express their fandom and connect with their favorite characters on a personal level.

Maximize profits, exploit nature, hoard money, and, like Buzz Lightyear, grow the economy to infinity and beyond! That's the modern economic playbook. But for decades, one renegade country has taken a contrarian stance that actually cares about people's wellbeing and environmental health: the Himalayan nation of Bhutan. When Bhutan embraced “Gross National Happiness” and a sane notion of progress, environmentalists and social reformers rejoiced. They spotlighted Bhutan as an example of how we can build a better economy. But now it seems that no one can escape the gravity field of techno-capitalism's black hole of cryptocurrency and bullshit investments. In today's episode, we explore Bhutan's dark turn and go on the hunt for other examples of nations doing things to curb overexploitation of people and the planet.Originally recorded on 7/21/25. That's why we're thrilled to welcome Scott Gustin, one of the most trusted voices in Disney journalism, to share his firsthand experience from the 2025 edition of Destination D23 and provide context that goes beyond the headlines.Scott takes us behind the curtain of this fan-focused event, explaining how it differs from the larger D23 Expo and why Disney strategically released major announcements like Zootopia Better Zoo-gether, Big Thunder Mountain updates, and the Buzz Lightyear vehicle redesign the week before. As he explains, "Walt Disney World had their own priorities, and they're not to make a really good weekend for Destination D23... their job as a resort is to increase bookings."The conversation reveals several exciting developments from the event itself, including the upcoming Carousel of Progress renovation featuring improved Walt Disney animatronics and the return of Cinderella Castle to its classic pre-2007 color scheme. Scott shares his theory that the castle update might be bundled with necessary structural work: "I think there was bringing forward of some budgeting that is outside of just a paint color." This approach hints at how Disney sometimes finds creative ways to deliver fan-pleasing updates while addressing practical needs.Looking toward the future, Scott offers thoughtful predictions about what we might see at D23 Expo 2026, particularly for long-neglected attractions like Journey Into Imagination with Figment. "It just doesn't work in 2025," he candidly admits, while explaining the operational challenges of taking a family attraction offline at EPCOT. His insights into the planning process and construction sequencing (like how Cars Land must precede Villains Land) provide a realistic framework for managing expectations about future announcements.Whether you're planning your next Disney vacation or simply fascinated by the business of theme parks, Scott's fact-focused approach cuts through the noise and offers clarity about what's actually happening in the Disney universe. Follow him on Twitter (@scottgustin) or subscribe to his Substack newsletter (scottgustin.substack.com) for ongoing insights from one of the most respected voices in Disney Parks coverage.----Adventures & Mousecapades is a passion project from Alicea & Nathan Novak - two Seattleites addicted to The Mouse. This week's episode of *Ooooh They Funny* had the crew diving into a wide mix of hot topics and hilarious debates. They kicked things off with the controversy around Snoop Dogg's comments about not wanting to explain same-sex parenting to his grandson during the *Buzz Lightyear* movie — asking if his honesty was really offensive or if people just look for reasons to be outraged. From there, they switched gears into a thought experiment: if society could only keep three inventions from the last 30 years, which ones are essential and which ones could disappear without much impact. The conversation then turned to the taboo of polygamy, exploring whether it could actually work in modern society and how cultural norms shape the way we view relationships. Finally, they wrapped up with a fun but brutally honest breakdown of the most overrated things in life — from hyped-up foods and celebrities to social trends that might not be worth all the buzz.

Snoop deal double G was on a podcast innocently telling a story about taking his grandson to see the new Buzz Lightyear movie when he found himself having to explain why two women in the cartoon had a baby, which triggered the alphabet community to try to cancel Snoop Dogg. James T. and Producer Aaron step up to give their take as only they can do.

This week we #starwarsified Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin the Magic Kingdom. Being a space-themed right, it doesn't take much to turn it into Star Wars, but we came up with 3 great ideas that we hope you'll enjoy! The Beak and Barrel will open later this month and we discussed the pros and cons of having this sort of place in a park that's filled with families and a lot of younger park goers. The menu looks interesting and we give our thoughts on the options. In Star Wars news, Disney and Gina Carouso settled their differences, and who knows, we may see her in the Mandalorian and Grogu movie next year. Thank you for listening. As American-born sisters, neither Kate nor Betsy grew up knowing who Action Man was or what his life entailed. None of that has stopped us from truly appreciating Mini Grey's lovely ode to a kid, his toy, and their various adventures. Did it come out after Toy Story? It did. Was it derivative? It was not (though there are some Buzz Lightyear similarities). British to its core, Mini Grey was in the ZONE when she wrote this one!! We've not done a Mini Grey title since Ginger Bear, so clearly we're due. We also don't want to give too much away but this title entirely charmed Kate, and for good reason. It appeared on Betsy's Top 100 Picture Books polls TWICE. And truly? It's just a fun book for one and all. Remember it all over again. Look for the full Show Notes about the book here: https://afuse8production.slj.com/2025/08/04/fuse-8-n-kate-traction-man-is-here-by-mini-grey/
What can the Toy Story character Buzz Lightyear teach us about the mark of the beast described in Revelation?
Jim Hill and Lauren Hersey continue their Toy Story series with a deep dive into the franchise's merchandising legacy—and how a scrappy unknown toy company landed the rights that Mattel and Hasbro turned down. Plus, Jim shares a personal behind-the-scenes story about the original vision for Toy Story 4, including his lost interview with John and Nancy Lasseter—and how a Valentine turned into something very different. Why Thinkway got the Toy Story license when everyone else passed What Barbie's deleted scene tells us about Pixar's early struggles The rise of collector culture—and what a boxed Buzz goes for now Jim's first-day-of-release trip to MGM Studios and the Toy Story parade The real story behind the development and derailment of Toy Story 4 How John Lasseter's personal life reshaped the film and Pixar's future From Sid's backyard to $10,000 auctions, this episode is packed with nostalgia, controversy, and stories you won't hear anywhere else.
