If this week's Empire Podcast doesn't give you a Buzz, it might at least give you a... wonderful sense of warmth and well-being, as all-round acting legends Tom Hanks and Tim Allen chat to Chris Hewitt about returning as Woody and Buzz Lightyear for Toy Story 5, and their surprising plans to keep working together. [47:02 — 1:01:44 approx] Either side of that, Chris is joined in the podbooth by Helen O'Hara and James Dyer to discuss the strange phenomenon of minor celebrities being asked to lend their voices to animated movies; movies that could have a sequel if you added an 'S' to their title, a la Aliens; look at the week's movie news, including a discussion of the final Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer; discover Helen's hatred for a major Hollywood star; and review Toy Story 5 and Virginia Woolf's Night & Day. To podfinity and beyond!

Thank You to Our CrewThank You to Our Crew Before we get into it this week, a big thank you to everyone who keeps this show going — the listeners, the community, and everyone flying the P-car flag out there. You know who you are. We appreciate you. Another Rough Weekend for Porsche Motorsport There is no sugarcoating it — another race weekend, another result that hurts to watch. One car out with steering rack issues, the other limping home in 12th. For a factory program with the pedigree Porsche carries, this is not where anyone expected to be at this point in the season. The year opened with real promise, and now we are sitting here trying to figure out what went sideways. The thing that makes it sting more is context: this is the last year of the current factory effort, which means every result carries extra weight. Is this a program that ran out of steam at the end? Is the talent still there but the development cycle just dried up knowing the curtain is coming down? The crew has thoughts, and none of them are particularly optimistic. We are not here to pile on, but we are also not going to pretend a 12th and a DNF is anything other than what it is. Porsche x Toy Story — Buzz Lightyear and the Clone Army Porsche teamed up with Toy Story for a charity livery and honestly, as a one-off it is kind of hard to hate. It is silly, it is colorful, it is for a good cause — fine. But here is where the fun starts. How long before the clout-chasing segment of the community starts dropping their own Buzz Lightyear wraps? Because you know it is coming. We are officially starting the counter. Every time one of these shows up on Instagram over the next few months, we want to know about it. Send them to us at @pcartalk, we will keep a running tally, and we will report back. Play along at home. The over/under on copycat liveries by end of year — place your bets now. To infinity and beyond, apparently. The Big One: When Your 996 or 997 Engine Goes Boom — What Do You Actually Do? IMS failure. Bore scoring. If you own a 996 or 997, these are not hypotheticals — they are scenarios you have thought about, probably more than once. So let us say it actually happens. The engine is cooked, damage is too severe to rebuild sensibly, and you are staring at a bill. A proper factory-spec engine replacement is going to run you somewhere around $50,000 depending on who does the work and what parts are needed. That is a real number, and for a lot of people owning these cars, it reframes the entire ownership conversation. So what do you actually do? You have options, and none of them are comfortable. You pay the freight, source a replacement engine, and keep the car correct — which is the defensible move if you have a clean example and plan to keep it. You find a used engine and gamble on its history. Or you go a completely different direction. And this is where the conversation gets interesting, because people have gone different directions. LS swaps in 911s exist. K-swapped 996s with a turbo bolted on — we have seen it with our own eyes. It runs. It is fast. It is also deeply confusing to look at under the hood of a 911. The question is not just mechanical, it is philosophical. A 911 is defined by the engine in the back. That flat-six, that specific architecture, is what makes the car what it is. When you pull it and replace it with something that was never meant to be there, are you still driving a 911 or are you driving something else that happens to have a 911 body? There is no wrong answer here, especially when the alternative is a $50K repair on a car that might be worth $40K. But the crew has opinions, and this one goes long. Where would you go, and why? Outro That is a wrap on this one. Thanks for riding along. Find us at pcartalk.com for events and everything P-car, support the show at Patreon.com/pcartalk, and hit us on Instagram at @pcartalk. Adam revisits Lightyear, the 2022 prequel built on a premise it never delivers: that this was the movie a kid in 1995 fell in love with. A look at why the film feels nothing like a mid-90s kids' movie, how Buzz Lightyear of Star Command did the job better twenty years earlier, the Sox problem, and what Lightyear's absence from the Toy Story 5 trailer tells you. Plus the corporate context of the Investor Day that birthed it. As a standalone sci-fi it's a 3 or a 4, but chained to Toy Story, it's a 2 out of 5.

We dissect the brilliant vocal performances of this legendary stellar main cast, starring Tom Hanks (Forrest Gump, Saving Private Ryan) delivering his definitive, deeply moving portrayal of the fiercely loyal Sheriff Woody, Tim Allen (The Santa Clause, Home Improvement) bringing unmatched charisma as the space ranger Buzz Lightyear, and Joan Cusack (School of Rock, In & Out) as the high-energy, empathetic cowgirl Jessie. We also unpack the phenomenal work from Ned Beatty (Deliverance, Network) as the strawberry-scented cult leader Lotso, Don Rickles as Mr. Potato Head, Estelle Harris as Mrs. Potato Head, Wallace Shawn (The Princess Bride) as the neurotic dinosaur Rex, John Ratzenberger as Ham, and Michael Keaton (Batman, Birdman) delivering absolute comedy gold as the shallow, fashion-obsessed Ken alongside Joni Benson as Barbie. Our hosts react to every pulse-pounding escape plan, hilarious visual gag, and tear-jerking milestone this film has to offer. We break down the absolute scale of the spectacular Western opening train sequence, the heartbreak of Andy's remaining toys accidentally getting tossed to the curb on garbage day, and their initial jaw-dropping arrival at Sunnyside Daycare. We unpack the sheer terror of the chaotic caterpillar room playtime, the hilarious prison breakout sequence featuring a brainwashed Buzz Lightyear stuck in Spanish mode, and Mr. Potato Head's desperate transformation into Mr. Tortilla Head. From the terrifyingly suspenseful security monkey watching the cameras to the raw, agonizing intensity of the furnace incinerator sequence where the toys choose to hold hands and face the end together, Greg and Paige break down why this specific entry hits like an absolute freight truck of emotion. Finally, we analyze the absolute perfection of the ending where Andy sits down on the grass to play with Bonnie one last time before saying a heartbreaking goodbye to his childhood pals. Support The Channel By Getting Some REEL REJECTS Apparel! https://www.rejectnationshop.com/ In this comprehensive movie review and reaction, Greg and Paige dive straight into the high-stakes adventure of Woody getting stolen from a yard sale by a greedy toy collector. We unpack the incredible voice work of the legendary main cast, featuring Tom Hanks (Forrest Gump, Cast Away) bringing timeless charm to the cowboy Sheriff Woody, Tim Allen (The Santa Clause, Home Improvement) as the iconic space ranger Buzz Lightyear, and Joan Cusack (Working Girl, In & Out) delivering massive emotional depth as the cowgirl Jessie. We also highlight the stellar supporting performances from Kelsey Grammer (Frasier, Cheers) as Stinky Pete the Prospector, Wayne Knight (Seinfeld, Jurassic Park) as the obsessive Al McWhiggin of Al's Toy Barn, and Don Rickles (Casino) as Mr. Potato Head. Our hosts react to all the brilliant themes of replacement and obsolescence, noting how the threat of being replaced by a shiny new toy hits differently as adults in a world facing shifts like artificial intelligence. We break down the epic, Star Wars-inspired Buzz Lightyear video game opening, the immense tension of the yard sale rescue mission, and the incredibly satisfying artistry of the old toy restorer perfectly repairing Woody's arm. Paige opens up about deeply relating to Jessie's fear of the dark and abandonment after being left in a storage box, diving into the pure heartbreak of Sarah McLachlan's classic "When She Loved Me" montage. We also discuss the legendary production trivia of how a mistyped command almost completely deleted the movie's files from the Pixar server, only to be saved by supervising technical director Galen Susman on maternity leave before the team completely remade the entire plot from scratch in just nine months. Stick around until the end as we break down our personal favorite childhood toys—including Tech Deck trick boarders, 25-cent sticky hands, and anti-gravity boots—alongside a fun side tangent on Paige's legendary "spaghetti pie" recipe and Greg's current preparation for an upcoming Spartan race! Cool Kids Summer is back at Walt Disney World in 2026, and it's better than ever. On May 26, all four theme parks (Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Disney's Animal Kingdom) opened new attractions to kick off the summer season. These include Jessie's Roundup, Goofycore, Soarin' Across America, Bluey's Wild World, Magic of Disney Animation (including Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live), Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run featuring The Mandalorian and Grogu, and Rock 'n' Roller Coaster: Starring the Muppets. This is in addition to Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, which recently reopened with major enhancements and upgrades. In this episode, I share my honest review of Cool Kids Summer thanks to a week-long preview hosted by Disney Parks. This week, major updates to park hopping, Trader Sam's is celebrating, Toy Story characters have a new look, a Loth Cat Crew experience coming to Savi's workshop, we finish our trip report from Disneyland and more! Please support the show if you can by going to https://www.dlweekly.net/support/. Check out all of our current partners and exclusive discounts at https://www.dlweekly.net/promos. News: Beginning June 9, Disneyland Resort will officially eliminate its 11:00 AM park-hopping restriction, allowing guests to move freely between Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure at any time of day. This major policy change applies to all visitors with Park Hopper tickets or Magic Key passes. Park reservations are still required and guests must select a starting park when booking, you no longer need to wait until late morning or physically tap into your reserved park before switching sides. – https://www.laughingplace.com/disney-entertainment/disneyland-park-hopping-any-time-date/ In anticipation of the upcoming theatrical release of Toy Story 5, the character have received some new wardrobe and accessory updates. Guests can now spot Woody sporting a bandana poncho, Buzz Lightyear carrying a shiny new star sticker, and Jessie wearing a sheriff's badge. These new details are designed to directly match the characters' appearance in the new film, which hits theaters on June 19, 2026. – https://www.laughingplace.com/disney-parks/toy-story-5-disney-parks-character-updates/ For the first time since opening in 2019, Savi's Workshop is offering a limited-time experience called the Youngling Saber Building Expo – A Loth-Cat Crew Experience. Designed specifically for children aged 3 to 9 and their accompanying adults, this unique interactive session allows families to explore the inside of the usually high-cost venue and participate in a lightsaber-building adventure. While the experience itself is completely free, guests will have the option to purchase their custom-built lightsaber at the end of the workshop. – https://www.micechat.com/436183-disneyland-news-grogu-coco-emergency/ Alien Pizza Planet has updated its dining format, returning to a classic cafeteria-style operation. The restaurant has removed its standard mobile ordering option from the Disneyland app, meaning guests looking for individual slices, pasta, and salads must now walk up and order directly from the food stations. A new “Alien Pizza Planet Express” mobile option has been introduced, which is exclusively dedicated to ordering large, family-style whole pizza meals. – https://www.micechat.com/436183-disneyland-news-grogu-coco-emergency/ SnackChat: Trader Sam's celebrates 15 years – https://www.laughingplace.com/disney-parks/trader-sams-15th-anniversary-disneyland-new-food-and-drinks/ Discussion Topic: Teresa and Vern's trip report Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. 867 · Walt Disney World Just Got Major Upgrades - and This Summer Is the Best Time to VisitThis might quietly be one of the biggest overall summer upgrades Walt Disney World has had in years. Not because of one giant new land - but because every park, every age group, and nearly every type of guest got meaningful, real enhancements at the exact same time. After being invited by Disney to their Summer Fun Fest media event, Lou Mongello goes far beyond the headlines in WDW Radio Episode 867.At one point during the event, he sat in a room with Disney leadership - park operations, Imagineering, and the facility asset management team (the most important team at Walt Disney World that most guests have never heard of) - for a candid conversation about how Disney actually makes decisions, processes guest feedback, and thinks about the future of the parks. That context changes everything that comes after it.Buzz Lightyear. Big Thunder Mountain. The Muppets. Mandalorian and Grogu. Bluey. Every park, something real - and a full conversation with a Walt Disney Imagineering Story Lead about how Disney decides what to change, what to keep, and why it all matters.Plus: why the connection between films, streaming, and parks is stronger than it has ever been. And why now - right now - is the best time to visit Walt Disney World in 2026.
Send us Fan MailA midlife crisis is already messy. Now give it to someone who has been animated, merchandised, and emotionally frozen in time for decades. We pour a coconut gimlet inspired by Disney's Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater, give it an honest review, and then take a hard left into the question that matters: what would happen if iconic Disney characters finally cracked and reinvented themselves? We draft our own “where are they now” spirals with way too much confidence. Goofy escapes Disney middle management to open an ashram in Thailand built around enlightenment through imperfection. Elsa decides she's done “letting it go,” moves to Miami, dates a much younger DJ, and speaks to the world through perfectly captioned Instagram posts. Daisy signs up for a Real Housewives style fame machine, tanks her image with sketchy endorsements, and lives for spa days and “Starbies,” while Donald responds by buying a convertible, blasting EDM, and insisting everyone call him “D-Duck.” It gets weirder in the best way. Dexter Riley quietly patents solar tech, experiments a little, and then vanishes into the South Pacific on a sailboat. Scar rebrands into a silk-robe podcaster blaming Mufasa for everything, complete with an “alpha mindset” and hyena entourage. Chip and Dale turn a weekly poker night into a full midlife pivot, Buzz Lightyear becomes a survivalist prepper who wins Survivor and buys drones, Genie discovers purpose as a self-help guru, and Judge Frollo lands in a brooding all-black art phase with a grand piano he cannot play. If you love Disney humor, Disney adults energy, character analysis through comedy, and a little cocktail talk, hit play. Subscribe, share the episode with a fellow Disney friend, and leave a review, then tell us which Disney character is most likely to have a midlife crisis next?
WHAT A NOSTALGIC AND BEAUTIFUL EXPERIENCE! Toy Story 1 Reaction & Review with Greg Alba and Paige Kimsey! With Toy Story 5 hitting theaters soon and Pixar completely back in the global spotlight with Toy Story 5 Toys vs Tech, Hoppers Pixar, and the larger Pixar 2026 movies conversation, we're diving back into the Pixar vault for the groundbreaking, historic masterpiece that started it all: Toy Story. Toy Story Full Movie Watch Along: / thereelrejects Support The Channel By Getting Some REEL REJECTS Apparel! https://www.rejectnationshop.com/ In this full movie review and reaction, Greg and Paige take a sentimental trip back to 1995 to re-evaluate the film that revolutionized computer-generated animation forever. We break down the absolute legendary performances of the main voice ensemble, including Tom Hanks (Forrest Gump, Saving Private Ryan) as the proud, vintage pull-string cowboy Woody, and Tim Allen (The Santa Clause, Home Improvement) as the delusional, high-tech space ranger Buzz Lightyear. Our hosts react to every iconic, highly quotable gag and groundbreaking sequence that this absolute staple of childhood cinema has to offer. We break down the high-stakes suspense of the bedroom birthday party reconnaissance mission, the hilarious gas station argument that leaves our duo stranded in the real world, and the chaotic survival sequence trapped inside Pizza Planet. We also dive into the terrifying, creative imagery inside Sid's bedroom, the beautifully emotional "I Will Go Sailing No More" existential realization sequence, and the breathless, high-octane rocket-powered moving van chase that brings the entire finale home. From the incredible world-building of a world where toys come alive to the timeless theme song by Randy Newman, this movie leaves us with an absolute treasure trove of nostalgia to unpack. As we continue our ultimate Pixar movie marathon and animation retrospective leading into Toy Story 5, we are looking back at the generational legacy of this cinematic milestone and breaking down exactly why its incredible script, heart, and pacing still clear so many modern animated movies today. #Toy Story Follow Greg Alba / thegregalba / thegregalba Follow Paige Kimseyhttps://www.instagram.com/paige.popco... This week on the Geekin' on Walt Disney World Podcast, we're lacing up the running shoes, grabbing a beignet, and heading into a Disney trip that started with runDisney Springtime Surprise weekend — but quickly became about so much more than miles and medals. Curtis is joined by three Geekin' family favorites — Holly, Laura, and Heidi — for a fun, relaxed, and very Disney Geek-style trip report filled with race stories, resort time, lounges, surprise meetups, food talk, cruise talk, and one unforgettable green wig. Because when Holly shows up dressed as Disgust from Inside Out for a runDisney race, you know we're off to a good start. Planning Your Next Disney Adventure? If you're thinking about planning your next Disney vacation and some Epic Universe… My wife Margita and our good friend Auntie Judy are the Travelin' Tiaras — your trusted Disney travel planners. Whether you're booking Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, Universal, or beyond… They'll help you plan a smart, stress-free vacation from start to finish. Already booked? You can transfer your reservation to us and still get expert tips, strategy, and support — and it's a great way to support the show. TravelinTiaras@gmail.com Or reach out on Facebook Messenger. And right now… there are great opportunities for upcoming travel, so it's a perfect time to start planning. Featuring This Week This episode includes: Holly, Laura, and Heidi sharing their runDisney Springtime Surprise weekend A stay at Coronado Springs and a solo stay at Port Orleans French Quarter A 10-miler, a 10K, costumes, character stops, and race-day nerves Surprise Geek meetups with Samantha, Selena, Tori, Joe, and more Food and drink stops at Le Cellier, Nomad Lounge, GEO-82, Beak and Barrel, Homecoming, and Sangria University Flower and Garden Festival bites, beignets, maple popcorn, and more Thoughts on newer Disney experiences like the Zootopia show, updated Buzz Lightyear, and Beak and Barrel A bonus cruise recap aboard Royal Caribbean's Utopia of the Seas RunDisney, Beignets, and Green Hair The episode kicks off with Holly wearing the green wig she used for her Disgust costume during the Springtime Surprise 10-Miler — which pretty much sets the tone for the whole conversation. Holly shares that she went into the race under-trained because of a shoulder injury and made it all the way to mile nine before being swept. But what stands out is her perspective. She knew it might happen, she pushed as far as she could, and she still came away with pride, humor, and yes… the medal. Laura brings the solo-trip energy with a stay at Port Orleans French Quarter, where she enjoyed a slower pace, pool time, peaceful resort moments, and plenty of beignets. She also shares one of the funniest race moments: dressing as a bee for the Winnie the Pooh-themed 10K and trying to drink yellow Gatorade from a hard plastic honey bear bottle mid-race. That's runDisney dedication right there. Heidi took a more relaxed race approach — stopping for characters, enjoying the course, and making memories along the way. Her character stops included Nick and Judy from Zootopia, Boba Fett, Woody and Bo Peep, and Bing Bong. Some people chase personal records. Some people chase character photos. Both are absolutely valid. The Geekin' Family Shows Up One of the best parts of this episode is how the Geekin' family keeps popping into the trip. Holly and Corey meet up with Tori and Joe at Yeehaw Bob over at Port Orleans Riverside — and then get surprised when Samantha and Selena walk in. Later, Heidi gets her own surprise. And Laura talks about that feeling of traveling solo, making it through the expo chaos, and then suddenly seeing “her people” at Nomad Lounge. That's the heart of this episode. Yes, it's a trip report. But underneath the races, snacks, lounges, and Disney details is that bigger feeling we talk about all the time: Disney is better when you've found your people. Food, Lounges, and Disney Geek Favorites Of course, this wouldn't be a Geekin' trip report without food. Holly and Corey enjoyed Le Cellier, including cheddar cheese soup, pretzel bread, filet, and an ice wine flight. Laura sampled tanghulu at the China booth, maple popcorn in Canada, jambalaya at French Quarter, and the crème brûlée croissant at Gaston's. Heidi had several Flower and Garden Festival hits, including duck in France, Caribbean-style chicken, flan, and a fish slider. The lounge talk is strong in this one too. Nomad Lounge remains a Geek favorite for its cozy seating, small plates, drinks, and Animal Kingdom atmosphere. GEO-82 gets praise for cocktails and mushroom flatbread. And Beak and Barrel sparks a fun comparison to Oga's Cantina and Trader Sam's — lots to look at, some cool effects, and maybe one of those places that grows on you over time. New Disney Experiences and a Cruise Bonus The group also shares thoughts on a few newer Disney experiences. Heidi talks about the new Zootopia show at Animal Kingdom and whether it really fits the deeper theme of the park. Laura gives her take on the updated Buzz Lightyear, including the new removable blasters and the joy of feeling like a Space Ranger… even when the score says otherwise. And after the Disney portion of the trip, Holly, Corey, Heidi, and Missy headed out on Royal Caribbean's Utopia of the Seas for a four-night cruise — complete with big-ship entertainment, shows, skating, surfing, ziplining, and a water show set to '80s music. The Real Heart of the Episode The best part of this conversation is not just the race. It's not just the snacks. It's not just the lounges. It's the people. It's the surprise visits. It's the inside jokes. It's the ride photos. It's that feeling of seeing friends you may only get to see a few times a year — but when you do, it feels like a reunion. That's the Geekin' family. And that's why these trip reports always mean a little more than just “here's what we did.” They're stories about connection. Listen to Episode 668 Episode 668 of the Geekin' on Walt Disney World Podcast is available now wherever you listen to podcasts. Come for the runDisney stories. Stay for the beignets, lounges, Flower and Garden snacks, surprise Geek meetups, and one very committed green-haired Disgust costume. Sarah is embracing her Spanish language learning, but she can only speak it with a deep, Buzz Lightyear voice, and we love it. Susie watched the Dark Wizard HBO docuseries about extreme sporting pioneer, free solo climber, and base-jumping enthusiast, Dean Potter, and we discuss why this is a hate-watch for us, how men will do anything instead of going to therapy, and why Susie hates extreme sports bros with all her heart. We hear about a study that determined that urban birds are more afraid of women than men, and we want to know why. There was a crossword crisis recently, and the puzzle nerds were losing their minds about it. We debate whether there are any MTV Challenge cast members who are better at getting around the rules of the show than we are. And we hear about the boy band documentary that chronicles the experience of the young men who are thrust into pop stardom and sign exploitative contracts, and why it reminds us of reality tv fame.Brain Candy Podcast Website - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/Brain Candy Podcast Book Recommendations - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/books/Brain Candy Podcast Merchandise - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/candy-store/Brain Candy Podcast Candy Club - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/product/candy-club/Brain Candy Podcast Sponsor Codes - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/support-us/Brain Candy Podcast Social Media & Platforms:Brain Candy Podcast LIVE Interactive Trivia Nights - https://www.youtube.com/@BrainCandyPodcast/streamsBrain Candy Podcast Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastHost Susie Meister Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterHost Sarah Rice Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBrain Candy Podcast on X: https://www.x.com/braincandypodBrain Candy Podcast Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/braincandy (JOIN FREE - TONS OF REALITY TV CONTENT)Brain Candy Podcast Sponsors, partnerships, & Products that we love:For 50% off your order, head to https://www.dailylook.com and use code BRAINCANDY Get 60% off your cat's first order, plus free shipping and free treats for life, when you go to https://www.smalls.com/BRAINCANDYThis episode is sponsored by BetterHelp. In this week's episode of WSJ's Take On the Week, co-hosts Miriam Gottfried and Telis Demos discuss what's beyond the surge in semiconductor companies like Broadcom and Micron. They examine economist Ed Yardeni's "Buzz Lightyear theory"—which says that demand for compute power will increase to infinity and beyond—that has led to S&P 500 earnings growth expectations surpassing the 2000 tech bubble peak. Plus, they analyze the impact of the fatal hantavirus outbreak on cruise-line stocks. After the break, billionaire philanthropist and former energy trader John Arnold joins Miriam and Telis at a live taping of the show at the WSJ's Future of Everything event. Arnold offers an analysis of how the U.S.-Iran conflict is shaping oil markets and discusses the factors preventing crude oil from reaching initial forecasts of $150 to $200 a barrel. He details how the Iran war underscores America's energy-security strengths, which should prompt hyperscalers to prioritize the U.S. for data-center expansion over Middle Eastern alternatives. Finally, he talks about a new focus of Arnold Ventures—the call for guardrails on prediction markets and sports betting—arguing that gambling regulation should remain under state jurisdiction rather than the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. This is WSJ's Take On the Week where co-hosts Telis Demos, Heard on the Street's banking and money columnist, and Miriam Gottfried, WSJ's investing and wealth management reporter, cut through the noise and dive into markets, the economy and finance—the big trades, key players and business news ahead. Have an idea for a future guest or episode? How can we better help you take on the week? We'd love to hear from you. Email the show at takeontheweek@wsj.com. From rising hotel prices and long wait times to the reality of Express Pass strategy, they break down what's changed and what hasn't. Then, they pivot to Disney's aggressive summer push, exploring whether discounts, refreshed attractions, and new experiences are enough to keep guests from jumping ship. This last week Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin formally reopened at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World. The attraction has long been a perfect complement to Tomorrowland, where it has recruited guests to fight the Emperor Zurg for the better part of three decades. As an attraction it has found a home at some time in all six Magic Kingdom style parks across the globe, making it one of the most commonly found attractions in any park. Moreover, it was the first Pixar based ride to be created in the theme parks. I remember being one of the first to ride it with my children in Cast Member previews in 1998. So I have a fond memory of this attraction, both here and across the globe. We'll compare all of these versions, and talk about how some versions have since been replaced. And of course, we'll board our ship and give you a review of the newly revised ride, emphasizing what is new and different. It's a welcome improvement to a Tomorrowland that is always on the go. So join as a new Buzz Lightyear attraction comes to the rescue at Magic Kingdom!
