We talked with ‘jack of all trades' Daniel Hayes about his recent release “Butterfly with Bazookas,” being gifted writing coach sessions, and his next projects, including writing ascreenplay and starting a production company! Denver-based poet, author, musician, and spoken word artist Daniel Hayes released, "Butterfly with Bazookas," on all digital and streaming platforms September 20, 2024. Thiseleven-track collection into Hayes' world fuses compelling storytelling and passionate musical arrangements, capturing his ability to blend deep introspection with explosive energy. Butterfly with Bazookas embodies Hayes' artistic voice, weaving together his exploration of life's extremes with powerful, unfiltered rawness. Known for his passion and talents in poetry, song lyrics, music, and the occasional memoir, Hayes has created an album that balances reflective depth with visceral expression, delivering an album that melds his creative skillsets into one.The album's title, Butterfly with Bazookas, showcases the duality of Hayes' artistic voice. As he describes, “I chose that name for the album because I'm like a butterfly with bazookas; I'm soft-spoken, polite, even delicate at times. But, once I've made up my mind about something… It never comes easy for me, as I'm constantly weighing both sides of an issue, walking in as many shoes as possible so I'm being fair. But, once I've settled, I have no problem telling it like it is. Also, the title refers to how some of the tracks are quiet and gentle like ‘Ecstasy,' ‘Redemption,' and ‘Wake Up,' while others are explosive, uncensored, and/or feral, such as ‘The Witch,'‘Eat Fast,' and ‘Bullet Train.' I think the album's title expresses those dichotomies in one phrase.” Check Daniel out here: Downingstreetstudios.com And his book “Cairns” is available on Amazon.

*from the desk of Pete* Pete would like to apologize for picking another long film but not too much because this movie was great. Our " Come What May," month kicked us right in the goodie bits and we lost an episode. Whatever, shit happens. So instead of a horror movie we bring you an action movie....again. When this film dropped in late April 2025, Pete was excited to see that director Shinji Higuchi (Shin Godzilla) was at the helm and he did NOT disappoint. Admittedly, the film could have shaved a solid 35 minutes off without losing any excitement or story but the gang loved it. As always, please watch the movie before you listen. It's worth your time!

n this episode of "Impact Theory," I dive deep with my co-host Drew into the tumultuous landscape of today's political and global affairs. We start by examining the whirlwind of changes unleashed by Trump's administration, particularly focusing on the bold move to shut down USAID and what that means for transparency in government. Our discussion then branches out to explore how politicians like Elizabeth Warren and AOC use emotional versus logical appeals, revealing the complexities of political rhetoric. I don't hold back as we venture into the controversial territory of immigration and the intricate geopolitical dance with global powers such as China. Throughout the episode, I draw historical parallels, pondering the possibility of America becoming more divided and the implications of that on our national identity. We also dive into the realm of modern dating, where I share my thoughts on the necessity of confidence and how AI is increasingly playing a role in personal interactions. As always, I aim to provide a thought-provoking perspective on the ever-shifting dynamics of power and policy. Join me as I try to uncover insights into the pivotal issues that are shaping our world today. 00:00 USAID Debactle 06:17 Hopeful Cycle of Transparency 13:53 Emotional Politics Vs Elon Musk 17:43 Rapid Change on Black Ice 25:34 Evaluating Government System 28:46 Critique of Education Loan Profits 37:35 Decentralized Taxation Benefits 39:48 Education Reform: Unlock Youth Potential 47:31 Cultural Protection vs. Immigration Policy 53:50 "Don't Underestimate China: Ray Dalio" 57:00 US-China Manufacturing Shift Debate 01:01:17 Economic Strategy vs. Civil Unrest 01:08:03 Ill-Gotten Gains, Great Outcome? 01:14:41 "Round and Find Out" 01:18:16 Impact Theory Animated Filmmaking Future 01:24:29 Pick up Relationship Advice 01:27:57 AI Dating Coach CHECK OUT OUR SPONSORS: Range Rover: Range Rover: Explore the Range Rover Sport at https://landroverUSA.com Audible: Sign up for a free 30 day trial at https://audible.com/IMPACTTHEORY Vital Proteins: Get 20% off by going to https://www.vitalproteins.com and entering promo code IMPACT at check out. iTrust Capital: Use code IMPACT when you sign up and fund your account to get a $100 bonus at https://www.itrustcapital.com/tombilyeu NetSuite: Download the CFO's Guide to AI and Machine Learning at https://NetSuite.com/THEORY ********************************************************************** What's up, everybody? John is joined by Jonathan V. Last to discuss The Bulwark editor's contention that, less than three weeks into Trump 2.0, “we are in a constitutional crisis already.” JVL argues that the new administration's early moves reflect a strategy of subjugating the legislative branch and daring the courts to stop it, then raises the question of whether the White House will comply with the judiciary's rulings in any case. He also defends his position Democrats should expend no political capital to protect voters from Trump's worst policy excesses—and explains why The New York Times is utterly unsuited to the meeting the moment in which our democracy now finds itself.
