Elite Entrepreneur is a show for entrepreneurs who believe in investing in their own education and mindset to ensure they run a more successful business in a digital era. Hosted by Niel Malan, the founder and CEO of Elite Inc., the show covers a wide range of topics, mainly centred around how digit…
Crowd-funding, or crowd-sourcing as it’s more commonly known, is a topic that I’ve always found fascinating. Joining me to discuss the crowd economy is a good buddy of mine and an expert in the field, Mr. Scott Picken from Wealth Migrate. The idea of crowd-sourcing has been around forever. All that has changed is that technology has come to the table, making the crowd economy. How can South Africans invest offshore in property without buying the entire property? Why invest in medical buildings? These are just some of the questions I put to Scott in our very interesting and wide-reaching conversation.
Why do some people succeed, why do some fail? Why do some companies succeed and others don’t? Lots of research has been done and books written about this, but for host Niel Malan, it comes down to one thing: Client Success. Look at it this way: People don’t buy a product or service for the product or service… they buy it to achieve an outcome, a particular result. For example, why does someone buy a drill? It’s not because they want a hole in the wall, it’s because they want to hang a picture of their family or a painting. If you are the drill manufacturer, you will only be successful if you can help your clients achieve the result they want. In this episode of Elite Entrepreneur, Niel looks at why client success rather than client service is the true measure of a company’s success. --- For video and full transcript of the episode, visit www.eliteinc.com/22 Join the Elite Inc. tribe Facebook: www.facebook.com/EliteIncOfficial Instagram: www.instagram.com/Elite_Inc_Official LinkedIn: www.linkedin.com/EliteIncGlobal Twitter: www.twitter.com/EliteIncGlobal
Entrepreneurs are usually absolutely awful at taking care of themselves. The reason for this is that the type of person who becomes an entrepreneur is usually someone who is driven to helping other people by making a difference. Entrepreneurs will do anything for other people – for their children, their partner, their friends, their employees, their clients... As a result, without realising it, entrepreneurs are awful at self-care. In episode 21 of the Elite Entrepreneur show, we look at an important business issue: “your business cannot outperform you”. Entrepreneurs go out and take the risks and make investments and deal with curveball after curveball. This results in your health taking a toll, stress levels go too high, you are not sleeping properly, etc. And before you know it, you are hitting burnout, the fatigue sets in, and eventually your performance goes down. And because you are less productive, you have to work more. Next, exercise goes out the door, diet goes out the door… it’s a vicious cycle. What do you do when you are in that spiral? Surprise episode! Before we wrap up our series on the Five Freedoms, host Niel Malan introduces a bonus topic: Physical Freedom. We are often not aware of our mortality, because it doesn’t confront us every day. We often don’t take care of our health the way we should and we leave things too late. Then one day, something happens… a heart attack, a stroke, cancer… and it’s a wake-up call. You realise you need to think about your health differently. In this episode, Niel looks at how to change your mindset about physical health, and how you can ensure sustainability in your efforts and everyday lives. --- For video and full transcript of the episode, visit www.eliteinc.com/18 Join the Elite Inc. tribe Facebook: www.facebook.com/EliteIncOfficial Instagram: www.instagram.com/Elite_Inc_Official LinkedIn: www.linkedin.com/EliteIncGlobal Twitter: www.twitter.com/EliteIncGlobal
Why do we want what we want? Why do we want a certain car, more money, a big house, a retirement fund, good schools for our children, a better physique, etc? A lot of people would say it's going to help them achieve something… something else. But why do you want something else? In the end, it’s all about a feeling – it's going to make them feel successful, it's going to make them feel accomplished, it's going to make them feel like they are going to make a difference in this world. Freedom is an emotion more than anything else. It's a state of being. In this episode, host Niel Malan explains why he believes that emotional freedom is the most important of the Five Freedoms we have been discussing. Is emotional freedom influenced by the other freedoms? Absolutely. But is it a requirement to have all the other freedoms to have emotional freedom? Absolutely not. --- For video and full transcript of the episode, visit www.eliteinc.com/16 Join the Elite Inc. tribe Facebook: www.facebook.com/EliteIncOfficial Instagram: www.instagram.com/Elite_Inc_Official LinkedIn: www.linkedin.com/EliteIncGlobal Twitter: www.twitter.com/EliteIncGlobal
Many people have one goal in life: To make money! But why is it that for so many of us who become successful, we are still unhappy and unsatisfied with life? In this episode, host Niel Malan explains how he overcame this struggle by realising that what he really wanted in life was to make a difference in people’s lives and to empower them. He also looks at how others can change to have the freedom to make a difference in this world. --- For video and full transcript of the episode, visit www.eliteinc.com/16 Join the Elite Inc. tribe Facebook: www.facebook.com/EliteIncOfficial Instagram: www.instagram.com/Elite_Inc_Official LinkedIn: www.linkedin.com/EliteIncGlobal Twitter: www.twitter.com/EliteIncGlobal
One of the things that I hear the most from entrepreneurs who want to start their own business is that they feel they are not in control of their own time anymore. It seems like every year you need to give more of yourself to do well, you wake up a bit earlier to beat the ever-worsening traffic, you find there’s more work to do... day after day, from morning until night, you are rushing from one thing to the next. It takes an emotional and physical toll, and suddenly you find yourself overwhelmed, with no idea what to do about it. In this episode, I take a look at why having more free time is important, including how it can improve your health and help you figure out what meaningful goal you are working towards in life. --- For video and full transcript of the episode, visit www.eliteinc.com/15 Join the Elite Inc. tribe Facebook: www.facebook.com/EliteIncOfficial Instagram: www.instagram.com/Elite_Inc_Official LinkedIn: www.linkedin.com/EliteIncGlobal Twitter: www.twitter.com/EliteIncGlobal
Why would you spend hours every day in the car or bus or train, travelling to and from work? Why waste your time on things that are not meaningful? In episode 14 of the Elite Entrepreneur show, we have a special guest, host Niel Malan’s wife Candy, who joins him to talk about Location Freedom. Imagine you could choose where you want to live because you do not have to worry about being near an office, being able to work from home (or anywhere in the world!), not being stuck in traffic every day, and being able to travel for pleasure or working holidays. All of this is possible with a digital business. --- For video and full transcript of the episode, visit www.eliteinc.com/14 Join the Elite Inc. tribe Facebook: www.facebook.com/EliteIncOfficial Instagram: www.instagram.com/Elite_Inc_Official LinkedIn: www.linkedin.com/EliteIncGlobal Twitter: www.twitter.com/EliteIncGlobal

The problem with most websites is that they simply do not convert a visitor into a sale. A website is just the brochure that provides information, there's nothing persuasive about it. What does convert? The answer is a funnel – a series of steps. When it comes to growing a business, you can’t do all the work yourself… you need people to help and contribute. But the question is, do you get permanent employees, or can you get by with freelancers? There is a really strong business case for utilizing freelancers to grow your business, but it's also not without downsides. On the other hand, there are many pros to getting permanent staff, but there are also cons. Many business people start companies because they love an industry, they're passionate about it, they're really excited. Then, because of all the other stuff that they have to do just to run the business, they get drained, they get tired, and they end up hating it. So, should you stay a “solo-preneur” or build a team? The truth is if you build a business correctly, you can focus on your strengths, you can focus on your areas of greatest impact, and you can enjoy your work. You can continue enjoying your work. Plus, if you do build a good team, at the end of the day, you've got a sellable asset, a business that other people would want to buy. In this episode, host Niel Malan looks at the pros and cons of whether you should run your business alone, or build a team. He also shares five pieces of advice to succeed in building a team, and explains the four core competencies that you need. --- For video and full transcript of the episode, visit www.eliteinc.com/6 Join the Elite Inc. tribe Facebook: www.facebook.com/EliteIncOfficial Instagram: www.instagram.com/Elite_Inc_Official LinkedIn: www.linkedin.com/EliteIncGlobal Twitter: www.twitter.com/EliteIncGlobal

Welcome to Elite Entrepreneur. In our first episode, host Niel Malan (founder and CEO of Elite Inc.) explains what exactly is an “elite entrepreneur”, and shares what this show is about. We also explore the concept of “every day is day one”, where in a digital era, the world is changing so fast and so rapidly that every day should be the first day of your business. But how do you go from ideas, planning, fear of failure and procrastination, to taking action? Niel shares his experience of adopting a “growth mindset” to get the process going, and how the important thing is not to get it perfect from the start, but simply to take action.
