In Daniel chapter 5, we are introduced to a new king, Belshazzar, who throws a feast for thousands in the middle of a war with the Medes and Persians. During the feast, God writes a message to Belshazzar on the wall, and Daniel is again brought in to interpret. King Nebuchadnezzar has seen and experienced the power of God multiple times in Daniel chapters 1-3, yet still refuses to recognize Him as the Most High. Although Daniel warns through dream interpretation that God will soon humble him in a big way, Nebuchadnezzar doesn't heed his warning. In Daniel 3, King Nebuchadnezzar set up a golden image of himself and demanded that all the people bow to the statue or be thrown into a fiery furnace. The team talks about the faith of three Jewish teenagers who refused the king's demand, how God was with them, and showed His power as the one true God. After growing up in a religious but dysfunctional family, Graeme Wright began to self-medicate with pornography. Through the years, his addiction grew and it became increasingly important to hide his struggles from everyone in his life. Graeme finally began to experience freedom when he confessed to his wife and began attending a sexual addiction recovery group. It has been a long road with several stops and starts, but Graeme has very personally experienced God's grace and mercy, and now leads the Men's Sexual Integrity Recovery group at Austin Ridge where he walks with other men who also want to gain freedom from sex addiction. Steve Kahle grew up wearing the label of a Christian but had no idea what it meant to walk with the Lord daily. When his first son was born, he realized that he wanted to be a better role model for his family. After his wife introduced him to Westlake Bible church, Steve saw his heart and his life begin to change as he was discipled by a group of men. Steve discusses his previous struggle with pornography, some difficult legal battles, and how he got through those seasons by cultivating spiritual disciplines that helped him walk with the Lord through it all. Evan Payne lacked a consistent father figure throughout his childhood. After growing up with three different fathers, he carried a lot of wounds and hurt into adulthood. Through years of encouragement from an older mentor, Evan was able to forgive his biological father and believe that God is the perfect father he always needed. God brought Evan's story full circle when he began a relationship with a single mom whose daughters also needed a father.
