Matthew was a Jewish man writing to a Jewish audience regarding a Jewish Messiah. In this series, we will focus on He who transformed our lives and changed the course of history!

After His resurrection, Jesus meets His disciples in Galilee as He had told them prior to His death. Jesus has already revealed Himself a multitude of times prior to this moment; yet "some are still doubtful." The disciples are so much like we are. We see the working of God and yet quickly begin doubting again. What does the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Messiah, mean to us as individuals? On the basis of the authority which Jesus has had since before the creation of the world, He sends out His disciples to make disciples of all nations. However, before you can make disciples, you must yourself BE a disciple! Who are you truly a disciple of? Whose words do you tend to quote most often? Whose words and messages do spend the most time reading, meditating on, and sharing? This message was presented on August 25, 2019 by David Hayes.
In our study of Matthew's account of the earthly life of the Messiah, we have come to the EXCLAMATION POINT!!!! Last week we considered the Apex of the Victory over Sin ... today, we see that Victory given the seal, or stamp, of approval! The victory is not only the ultimate Atonement (covering) for our Sin … but it is the destruction of the "final enemy" - death itself! O Death, where is your sting? O Grave, where is your victory? !!! As we consider Jesus' victory over the grave, ask yourself the question: "Am I honestly living in the power of His resurrection?" This message was presented on August 18, 2019 by Bob Corbin.
In our study of Matthew's account of the earthly life of the Messiah, we have come to what would have appeared to be the end of the earthly ministry of Jesus - His Death by Crucifixion. Fortunately, for us, we are looking backwards and we know that this is NOT a sorrowful ending but rather a crucial step in the Ultimate Victory! As Jesus has continually reminded the disciples - and the leaders of the people - what was happening was not a random coincidence but rather the Purpose and Plan of God were coming to their fullest fruition at this moment of history. Today’s message is not just about suffering and death ... but even more so about faithfulness and victory! This message was presented on August 11, 2019 by Bob Corbin.
In our study of Matthew's account of the earthly life of the Messiah, we began three weeks ago focusing on the final phase of the book - The Sacrifice of the Messiah. Last week we considered the Rejection of the Messiah. In that account, three times Jesus referred to the fact that things were transpiring in such a way as to fulfill Scripture. We continue our study today with an examination of the Trials of the Messiah - before the Religious Leaders and before the Political Leader. This message was presented on August 4, 2019 by Bob Corbin.
In our study of Matthew's account of the earthly life of the Messiah, we began two weeks ago focusing on the final phase of the book - The Sacrifice of the Messiah. Our section today continues immediately following the Commemoration that He established in the Upper Room - and which we considered last week. Singing was part of the Passover celebration. So, they concluded their Seder with a hymn and then began to travel to the Mount of Olives ... specifically, to a garden that Jesus frequented often - to pray. Along the way, Jesus made a provocative statement to His disciples. This message was presented on July 28, 2019 by Bob Corbin.
Last week we began focusing on the final phase of the Messiah's earthly ministry - His Sacrifice. Last week we considered His Preparation. Today, we will be focusing upon the Commemoration that He established. Lord willing, over the next four weeks we will examine His Rejection, His Trial, His Crucifixion and His Resurrection. This message was presented on July 21, 2019 by Bob Corbin.
Numerous weeks ago, we began to consider the final week of Jesus' earthly ministry; commonly referred to as the Passion Week. As we enter into this final phase of the book of Matthew - considering the sacrifice of the Messiah and His commission - we must remember that this is all happening very quickly for the disciples. There is the Triumphal Entry, the Altercations with the Pharisees, Sadducees, and Scribes ... and then His statement that the Temple would be totally destroyed. The disciples are noticeably confused and Jesus provides some cryptic prophetic teaching regarding the time of His return. Jesus culminates His teaching with the statement, 'You know that after two days is the Passover, and the Son of Man will be delivered up to be crucified.' If you were with Jesus, how would you have responded to this chain of events? ... and to this final statement? In our passage today, we see a series of responses and reactions to Jesus' teaching. Which most closely resembles your response? This message was presented on July 14, 2019 by Bob Corbin.
Last week, we began to consider Jesus' teaching regarding His Return. Jesus stated that the time of His return would be marked by International Conflicts, Natural Disasters and Spiritual Struggles - including Deception, Persecution and Distraction! However, on a positive note the Gospel will be carried to every ethnos - nation or people group! Today we continue in Jesus' teaching as He gives an Exhortation to His followers based upon the Environment and Expectation of His return - using several parables and word pictures to accent His teaching. This message was presented on July 7, 2019 by Bob Corbin.
We are currently considering the events in the life of the Messiah during the days just prior to His death, burial and resurrection. Over the past few weeks, we have considered Jesus' interactions with the Scribes, Pharisees, Herodians, Sadducees and Lawyers. Today we begin to transition from the Examination phase of this week - when those religious leaders unknowingly validated that Jesus was indeed without blemish and, thereby, fulfilled the qualifications of both the passover sacrifice and sin sacrifice - into the Sacrificial phase of the week. In Matthew 24 and 25, Jesus informs His disciples of the coming destruction of the temple and then, in response to their questioning, gives them details regarding the end times. This message was presented on June 30, 2019 by Bob Corbin.
After Jesus parries with the theologians of His day, He then begins to publicly denounce them. This message was presented on June 23, 2019 by David Hayes.
We are currently considering the events in the life of the Messiah during the days just prior to His death, burial and resurrection. As we have seen, Jesus' is at this moment fulfilling the prophecies of several spring feasts and is establishing His role as a Prophet in His interactions with the Scribes, Pharisees, Herodians, Sadducees and Lawyers. That group of Scholars have another motive - they are seeking find a fault in Jesus ... in order to have condemnatory evidence. Today, we see Jesus parry the continual assaults of His enemies and then turn a 'theological' thrust back to win 'the match.' This message was presented on June 9, 2019 by Bob Corbin.
Last week we considered the Messianic Entrance of Jesus through Jericho and then into Jerusalem. Beginning today, we will take a couple of weeks to consider The Examination of the Messiah when the enemies of the Messiah unwittingly revealed that He had no flaw and was there an acceptable Passover and Sin Sacrifice. Even though Jesus had revealed His authority in may different ways, the enemies of the Messiah still sought to discredit Him. Jesus, in this final week of His earthly life reveals the prophetic portion of His ministry as well. This message was presented on June 2, 2019 by Bob Corbin.
Matthew is a Jewish man writing to Jewish people about the Jewish Messiah. He has revealed the Messiah's Lineage and Birth, His Forerunner and Preparation, His Message and Authority, and over the past 4.5 months we have examined the Instruction of the Messiah. Throughout His ministry, Jesus has continually been warning and reminding His disciples that ultimately He would die and raise again on the third day. Today, we come to the final week of the Messiah's earthly life - that which is commonly referred to as Passion Week. This final week was hinted at and prophetically chronicled in the feasts and writings of the prophets. This message was presented on May 26, 2019 by Bob Corbin.
Jesus has been sharing 'Kingdom thinking' with His disciples and the multitude that surrounded Him. In the previous message, we saw Jesus share the need for simple trust (faith) in order to enter the Kingdom of God. Today's passage is actually a continuation of Jesus' discourse with the 'young rich man.' At the end of that discourse, Peter had asked a question regarding rewards, to which Jesus gave a summary answer 'everyone who has left ... will be rewarded.' The parable that Jesus shares in the first portion of today's passage is a word picture to provide additional information to His response to Peter. Though we will be rewarded, we MUST remember who we are ... and who God is! The second part of this passage highlights the importance of listening to Jesus' parable and applying it to our lives! This message was presented on May 19, 2019 by Bob Corbin.
In our series studying the book of Matthew, we have seen the importance of Jesus' initial declaration to the nation of Israel: 'Change the way you think, for the Kingdom of the Heavens has drawn near!' He has continually challenged His disciples and those around Him to reevaluate how they think regarding various topics. Jesus has continually boiled the struggle down to one specific element that is the distinction between two kingdoms (the kingdom of heaven and the kingdom of man). That element is faith. The two encounters that Jesus has in our passage today, illustrate this very struggle. This message was presented on May 12, 2019 by Bob Corbin.
Today, we see Jesus respond to the testing of the Pharisees with authoritative instruction regarding the sanctity of marriage. This message was presented on May 5, 2019 by Bob Corbin.
Last week, David Hayes began considering the teaching of Jesus regrding dealing with offenses by considering the teaching of Jesus regarding the importance of children. Those who cause a child to stumble, or be offended at Christ, would face a severe judgement. This message continues the teaching of the Messiah regarding offenses by consider those offenses caused by other believers. This message was presented on Sunday, April 14, 2019 by David Hayes.
Jesus has been teaching His Jewish followers that they needed to change the way they think. One of those areas is how they think about children. Children were not given much significance in time of Christ. The teaching of Jesus regarding the importance of children is something that most adults need to consider. This message was presented on Sunday, April 7, 2019 by David Hayes.
Today, we see the juxtaposition of two character traits - greatness and humbleness - that seem to be contradictory according to the evaluation of the world but in the kingdom of God are joined together. This message was presented on Sunday, March 31, 2019 by Bob Corbin.
The message this week transitions between our mini-series on the importance of prayer and our on-going series on the book of Matthew. In our series on prayer, we have considered the privilege, priority, place, pattern and persistence of prayer. This message discusses the power of prayer from a consideration of the interaction that Jesus had after He had descended from the mountain with Peter, James and John. Over the past two weeks, we considered 'The Pattern of Prayer' using the acronym P.R.A.Y. as a teaching tool. (P.R.A.Y. stands for Praise - Repent - Ask - Yield). When Jesus descended, He found His disciples being confronted by a raucous crowd. A man had brought his son to Jesus to be healed. Apparently His disciples had attempted to peform the feat but were unable. After Jesus heals the boy by casting out the demon, His disciples were curious why they could not cast out the demon. In the instruction of Jesus we see the importance of both faith and fasting in our prayer lives. This message was presented on Sunday, March 24, 2019 by Bob Corbin.
The recent messages have been considering the Instruction of the Messiah to His disciples in preparation of His death, burial and resurrection. A couple of weeks ago we saw Jesus declare clearly that He was the Lord of the Sabbath and that He was greater than the Temple. Last week, we considered Jesus' questions to His disciples regarding His identity: Who do the people say that I am? Who do YOU say that I am? Your answer to this question concerns your eternal destiny! While in the region of Caesarea Philippi, Jesus provided three of His disciples with an even more demonstrative illustration of His identity. As Peter, James, and John watched Jesus was transformed into a brilliant brightness. At the same time, Moses and Elijah appeared and began to talk to Jesus about His impending trip to Jerusalem! The metamorphosis of the Messiah provides us not only with great evidence of His identity but it also reminds us of the ultimate transformation of believers and the call for our continual transformation on the earth. This message was presented on Sunday, February 10, 2019 by Bob Corbin.
The recent messages have been considering the Instruction of the Messiah to His disciples in preparation of His death, burial and resurrection. A few weeks ago, we considered the statements of Jesus that He was the Lord of the Sabbath and that He was greater than the Temple. In this week's passage, we see Jesus begin to bring a sharp definition in the mind of the disciples to who He truly is. Who do the people say that I am? Who do YOU say that I am? The answer to these questions are still as applicable today as they were two thousand years ago! Consider that today there are religious groups that state that Jesus is: a) the Son-God who was born of the sinless Queen of Heaven (Catholicism); b) the brother of Satan who became a god (Mormonism); c) The Archangel Michael incarnate (Jehovah's Witness). Those beliefs are not just non-biblical, they are unbiblical. But who do YOU say that Jesus is? Jesus stated in John 8:24 '... if you do not believe that I am (literally: I am I am), you will die in your sins.' What you believe about Jesus is crucial! This message was presented on Sunday, February 3, 2019 by Bob Corbin.
The core of Jesus message and ministry was the theme of repentance: that the people needed to change the way they were thinking. This concept is seen in the instructional phase of the Messiah's ministry ... both doctrinally and practically. Last week we considered the hypocrisy of the Pharisees as they accused Jesus of going against their oral law while they themselves taught people to disregard God's divine law. Today, after reinforcing the lesson that He was teaching his disciples regarding the opening of the gospel to the Gentiles, Jesus warns His disciples of falling into the doctrine of the Pharisees and Sadducees. This message was presented on Sunday, January 27, 2019 by Bob Corbin.
The core of Jesus message and ministry was the theme of repentance: that the people needed to change the way they were thinking. This concept is seen in the instructional phase of the Messiah's ministry ... both doctrinally and practically. In today's passage, two accounts are juxtaposed by Matthew displaying different mindsets while revealing the truth which Jesus had previously revealed: Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. This message was presented on Sunday, January 20, 2019 by Bob Corbin.
Two weeks ago we transitioned into the instructional phase of the life and ministry of the Messiah. Discipleship is not only teaching doctrine to an individual but it is modeling a godly lifestyle. (cf. 1 Cor 11:1; Phil 4:9; 2 Thess 3:7-9) Today, we see how Jesus instructed His disciples through the events of life ... specifically, dealing with the trials of life. This message was presented on Sunday, January 13, 2019 by Bob Corbin.
Last week we transitioned into the instructional phase of the life and ministry of the Messiah. Jesus began His instruction by sharing several parables regarding the Kingdom of Heaven. In that message, we considered the concept and purpose of parables and then the Parable of the Sower. Today, the goal is to consider the rest of these parables: the Wheat and Tares, the Mustard Seed, the Leaven in the Dough, the Hidden Treasure, the Pearl of Great Price, and the Dragnet. This message was presented on Sunday, January 6, 2019 by Bob Corbin.
As the Scribes and Pharisees begin to plot how they might destroy Jesus, He begins the new phase of His ministry - preparing His disciples for His departure. Matthew now transitions his account of the life and ministry of the Messiah to the instructional phase by sharing several of the parables which Jesus taught. However, before we can adequately study this chapter, we must first understand the concept of Parables; hence time is spent discussing the purpose and interpretation of parables. For this first parable - the Sower and the Seed, or the four soils - Jesus gives us the illustration AND the interpretation. However, we are still left to determine the impact ... the application! This message was presented on Sunday, December 30, 2018 by Bob Corbin.
Matthew was a Jewish man writing to a Jewish audience and giving testimony regarding the life and ministry of the Messiah who had been foretold by many of the Jewish prophets. Recently, we have been considering the expression of the authority of Jesus. He had revealed His authority over demons, diseases, nature, disabilities and even death! He then delegated that authority to His disciples as He sent them off into the cities and villages of Israel to proclaim the good news of the Kingdom. During this time, John the Baptist had been arrested. While he was jail, his disciples came to him. They discussed whether Jesus was the waited-for Messiah. John sent them to Jesus to ask the question. The primary teaching point in this passage is a contrast of doubt. Doubt can stem from diverse origins. It is the belief behind the doubt that truly is the key. Some may doubt due to misconceptions, confusion or bewilderment. Yet others doubt as a result of rejection and rebellion. Even the strongest of believers may have moments where perplexity and confusion can cause a moment of doubt. In those moments, we need to go back to what we know to be true. This message was presented on Sunday, December 9, 2018 by Bob Corbin.
Matthew was a Jewish man writing to a Jewish audience and giving testimony regarding the life and ministry of the Messiah who had been foretold by many of the Jewish prophets. Last week, we considered the compassion of Jesus for the multitude. He saw that they were like sheep without a Shepherd. He saw them as a whitened field ready to be harvested. He called upon His disciples to pray that workers would be sent into the field. Immediately afterward, Jesus commissioned His twelve disciples to represent Him and the Kingdom throughout Israel. At that time, Jesus authorized His disciples to cast out evil spirits, heal diseases and even raise people from the dead! As they traveled, they were not supposed to be concerned for their provision. They would need to trust God to provide through individuals and towns. Freely you have received, freely give! However, Jesus also warned them that they would begin to receive persecution as they spoke in the name of Jesus. They were not supposed to worry about this either. They would be rewarded for their obedience. Those who did not receive them, or persecuted them, would receive retribution. Whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is heaven. But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven. This message was presented on Sunday, December 2, 2018 by Bob Corbin.
Matthew was a Jewish man writing to a Jewish audience and giving testimony regarding the life and ministry of the Messiah who had been foretold by many of the Jewish prophets. During the past four messages, we have considered the authenticity of the authority of Jesus through the display of His power over disease, nature, demons, sin, death and handicaps. Jesus now begins to expands His ministry through the commissioning of His disciples to represent Him and the Kingdom throughout Israel. Jesus gave His disciples authority to cast out evil spirits, heal diseases and even raise people from the dead! This commissioning of His disciples comes following the recollection of the compassion of Jesus for the multitudes. This message was presented on Sunday, November 25, 2018 by Bob Corbin.
All authority intrinsically is backed by some power. Behind the 'exousia' (authority) there has to be some 'dunamos' (power). In the previous two messages, we began considering the proof of the messianic authority of Jesus as it was revealed in His power over the physical and spiritual realms. First, we considered His authority over Disease and Nature. Last week we considered His authority over demons. Today's message considers Jesus' authority over sin. First, we see His interaction with the young paralytic man who was carried to Jesus by his four friends. Earlier, in Capernaum, Jesus had healed the Centurion's servant who was paralyzed. This time Jesus doesn't heal, He forgives! This young man was suffering from what would be referred today as 'Conversion Disorder.' Jesus knew that it wasn't a physical or psychological issue - it was a spiritual issue. Second, we see Jesus' interaction both with Matthew the tax collector and, subsequently, with Matthew's friends. Jesus stated, 'Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick... I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.' Have you responded to His call?. This message was presented on Sunday, November 11, 2018 by Bob Corbin.
When Jesus had concluded His teaching, the people were astonished because 'He taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.' All authority intrinsically is backed by some power. Behind the 'exousia' (authority) there has to be some 'dunamos' (power). In the previous message, we began considering the proof of the messianic authority of Jesus as it was revealed in His power over the physical and spiritual realms. First, we considered His authority over Disease and Nature. Today's message considers Jesus' interaction with the demoniacs of the Garadenes. Many in our country, and even in the church, do not truly believe in the existence of demons. They may give intellectual assent to the spiritual but do not realize as Paul stated, 'We do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.' (Eph 6:12) There are more than just the demoniacs involved in this event. There are actually four different groups of people to consider as we examine the passage: the disciples, the demoniacs, the swineherds and the citizens of the country. In the end, we are challenged to consider the worth of the soul. This message was presented on Sunday, November 4, 2018 by Bob Corbin.
Jesus began His ministry with the command for people to 'Repent.' The Greek word is 'metanoia' which means 'change the way you think.' Jesus then taught the people how to think differently. They should have a kingdom worldview. At the conclusion of the 'Sermon on the Mount' the people were astonished because 'He taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.' All authority intrinsically is backed by some power. Behind the 'exousia' (authority) there has to be some 'dunamos' (power). The goal for the next three messages is to consider the proof of the messianic authority of Jesus as it was revealed in His power over the physical and spiritual realms. In today's message we consider the display of Jesus' authority over diseases (seen in His healing of individual's who suffered with skin disease, paralysis, and infection) and over nature itself (calming a raging storm with a command of His voice). This message was presented on Sunday, October 28, 2018 by Bob Corbin.
We have moved into the final portion of Scripture commonly referred to as 'The Sermon on the Mount.' Jesus has been sharing the Standard of His Kingdom; a standard which is different and higher than that of the world, and is definitive in nature - you either serve God or the world. We have moved into the final portion of that Scripture commonly referred to as 'The Sermon on the Mount.' Jesus has been sharing the Standard of His Kingdom; a standard which is different and higher than that of the world, and is definitive in nature - you either serve God or the world. The Kingdom Standard is also a Practical Standard. The application of this Different, Higher, Definitive Standard should bring discernment. Discernment is the ability to judge well. Jesus addresses our need for discernment in three areas: our insights, our path, and our foundation. Today's message considers our need for discernment as we consider what foundation we are building our lives upon. In this well known passage, Jesus compares the one who hears His teachings, and heeds them, to a wise man who built his house upon a rock. However, the one who hears the teachings of Jesus, and ignores them, is compared to a foolish man who builds his house upon the sand. This message was presented on Sunday, October 21, 2018 by Bob Corbin.
We have moved into the final portion of Scripture commonly referred to as 'The Sermon on the Mount.' Jesus has been sharing the Standard of His Kingdom; a standard which is different and higher than that of the world, and is definitive in nature - you either serve God or the world. In the last message, we began consider that the Kingdom Standard is also a Practical Standard. The application of this Different, Higher, Definitive Standard should bring discernment. Discernment is the ability to judge well. It is the art of thinking critically without being unnecessarily critical! Jesus addresses our need for discernment in three areas: our insights, our path, and our foundation. Today's message considers our need for discernment in choosing our path and our teachers. This message was presented on Sunday, October 14, 2018 by Bob Corbin.
We have been considering the portion of Scripture commonly referred to as 'The Sermon on the Mount.' In it Jesus, as the King, is sharing the Standard of His Kingdom. The Kingdom Standard is Different and Higher than that of the world; indeed, the Standard is the perfection of God. It is as well a definitive Standard - there is no middle ground; you are either serving God or the world. Jesus stated, 'You cannot serve two Masters.' Today, we begin to see that the Kingdom Standard is a Practical Standard. The application of this Different, Higher, Definitive Standard should bring discernment. Discernment is the ability to judge well. It is the art of thinking critically without be unnecessarily critical! As we examine this final portion of the Sermon on the Mount, we will be considering three focal points of discernment; beginning with our 'insights.'. This message was presented on Sunday, October 7, 2018 by Bob Corbin.
Jesus has been sharing with the people the standards of His Kingdom. The standards of His Kingdom are different than those of this world. They are higher standards and as we began to consider last week, they are definitive standards. There is no middle ground, you are either serving God or this world. Whose side you are on can generally be determined by honestly asking yourself two questions: 'Whose applause are you seeking?' and 'Who treasure are you seeking?' Today's message considers the second question. This message was presented on Sunday, September 30, 2018 by Bob Corbin.
Jesus' message was the same as the message of His forerunner, John the Baptist. That message was: 'Repent (metanoia-change the way you think) because the Kingdom of the Heavens has drawn near.' In the passage, classically referred to as 'The Sermon on the Mount,' Jesus teaches the people what Kingdom Thinking looks like. Not only are the standards of the Kingdom different and higher than those of the world, they are also definitive. The standards you follow define who you follow. Whose side you are on can generally be determined by honestly asking yourself two questions: 'Whose applause are you seeking?' and 'Who treasure are you seeking?' Today's message considers the first of those question. This message was presented on Sunday, September 23, 2018 by Bob Corbin.
As Jesus taught the people regarding the Standards of the Kingdom, He made a very strong statement: 'Unless your righteousness abound greater than that of the Scribes and Pharisees, you will be no means enter the kingdom of God.' To fully understand that statement, you must place yourself in the sandals of Jewish individual of that day. The Scribes and the Pharisees were considered to be the most righteous people of the day! Jesus then continued speaking with the authority of the King (which He was, and is) revealing the full intent of the Law. The chapter concludes with a verse that actually holds out great hope: 'You shall be perfect ...' This message was presented on Sunday, September 16, 2018 by Bob Corbin.
In Matthew 5-7 we have a portion of Scripture commonly referred to as the Sermon on the Mount. In this passage, Jesus begins to instruct the people regarding the Standard of the Kingdom - His Kingdom. Those who will follow the King should understand the Standard of the King and His Kingdom. In the beginning of this teaching, Jesus reveals that the Standard of His Kingdom is different than that of the world. Those following Christ will have a different worldview; they will think differently. Those who begin to think with this Kingdom mindset will be different in this world; they will be as salt and light. In fact, if you begin operating your life in submission to the mindset of the King, Jesus states that you will be like a city that is set upon a hill whose light cannot be hid! This message was presented on Sunday, September 9, 2018 by David Hayes.
After Jesus' time in the wilderness, He entered the city of Capernaum and formally began His earthly ministry with the proclamation of the same message as His forerunner, John the Baptist: 'Repent, for the Kingdom of the heavens has drawn near!' As He proclaimed this good news of the Kingdom, Jesus commanded some fishermen to follow Him along with the promise that if they followed Him: 'I will make you fishers of men.' This message was presented on Sunday, August 19, 2018 by Bob Corbin.
In the third chapter of Matthew's account of life and ministry of the Messiah, we are introduced to the Forerunner of the Messiah - John the immerser (Baptist). John prepared the way for the coming of YHWH with the message: 'Repent for the kingdom of the heavens has drawn near.' The study of this passage, requires an extensive consideration of what the 'Kingdom of the Heavens' is, and is not. This message was presented on Sunday, August 5, 2018 by Bob Corbin.
In the book of Luke, we are told of the decree of Caesar of Augustus for the world to be registered. As a result of this decree, Joseph took his betrothed wife Mary to the town of his family's lineage: Bethlehem. While there, they received a visit from some wisemen from the east who came to worship, and give presents to, the newborn King. On the way, these wisemen had past through the city of Jerusalem looking for the newborn King. This investigation brought great consternation to King Herod. In this passage, we see three different reactions to the birth of the Messiah, which most resembles your reaction? This message was presented on Sunday, July 22, 2018 by Bob Corbin.
Matthew was a Jewish man writing to a Jewish audience regarding a Jewish Messiah. In this series, we will focus on He who transformed our lives and changed the course of history! In this message, we will consider on of the two greatest events of redemptive history - the incarnation of the Messiah! YHWH had come to His people - in form of a baby! Within the excitement of this event, we also see the tremendous decision of faith that Joseph, an ordinary carpenter, made when confronted with a God-sized call upon his life. This message was presented on Sunday, July 15, 2018 by Bob Corbin.
