Jesus, the night before His Sacrifice for you and me, gathered His disciples for the Passover meal. He taught them a "new command" to love and serve one another. He demonstrated that Love and His Grace by humbly doing a servant's job, washing their feet. He then served them the ultimate meal of His Body and Blood for the forgiveness of their sins. Join Pastor Dave this Maundy Thursday as he reminds us to follow Jesus lead by serving others.
Series: "What a Savior" - Isaiah 53: 1-7 / Our thoughts of Christmas reflect on lights, meals, family, presents and music. But at the heart of Christmas is God's plan for heavenly intervention. Someone sent to redirect our lives, to rescue us from coming eternal destruction. And in that rescue plan was the need for a sacrifice as payment for the sins of the world. Crawford Loritts takes us to Isaiah 53 in his message, “His Sacrifice.” Donate to Moody Radio: http://moodyradio.org/donateto/livingalegacySee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
The Glory of Christ in His Sacrifice 1 Timothy 2:5-7 Reasons to pray for all kinds of people to be saved (embrace the gospel):1) Glory of God (v2b) – Praying this way sanctifies the Church.2) Pleasure of God (v3) – Praying this way pleases God.3) Desire of God (v4) – God's heart and plan is to save all kinds of people.4) Death of Christ (v5-6) – Praying this way aligns with the purpose and value of Christ's sacrifice a. Exclusive – Christ is the to reconcile people to the one God. b. Love – Christ suffered and died of sinners c. Power – Christ's death His people from their sins d. Scope – Christ died of people.5) Ministry of Paul (v7) – God appointed Paul to bring the Gospel to the Gentiles. How is Jesus uniquely qualified to reconcile people to their Creator? In what ways does the sacrifice of Christ declare His glory? What attributes of Christ shine forth from His sacrifice? How does failing to pray for all kinds of people to be saved demean Christ's sacrifice? Why are the singularity of God and the exclusivity of Christ not welcome news to the popular culture? How can we explain that the singularity of God and the exclusivity of Christ are truly good news? For Further study: Dt 6:4; Mk 10:45; Acts 4:12; Rom 3:29-30; 5:6; 8:32; Gal 1:4; 2:20; 4:4; Eph 5:2; Phil 2:5-7; Heb 2:14-17; Rev 5:9.
We study Ps 23 thru the eyes of our personal covenant relationship with the LORD = YEHOVAH, God's covenant Name. 8 compound Covenant Names cover all blessings of the New Covenant. The 1st is: “The LORD is my SHEPHERD” (v1), Yehovah Rohi. Jesus said: “I AM the good SHEPHERD” of Ps 23 (Jn 10:11,14), speaking of His loving care for us. I AM = YEHOVAH, so His I AM claims correspond to the YEHOVAH Names. As our risen Shepherd, as Ps 23 says, He leads us into our full inheritance, described by these Names. True shepherding means a devoted personal relationship between shepherd & sheep. He lives in personal relationship with his sheep & knows them all by name; they know his voice & follow him. This is seen in the word MY: ‘The Lord is MY Shepherd.' He cares for me, watches over, leads, feeds & preserves me. His constant presence protects them from danger. David, an experienced shepherd, knew of what he talked, a man (who sought) after God's own heart to know Him (1Sam 13:14, Acts 13:22) and God revealed His heart of love to Him, the heart of a shepherd, that just as he cared for his sheep, protecting, providing, leading & rescuing them, so that's how God is toward His people. As he was devoted to his sheep, so God is fully committed to us, laying down His life for us. He found comfort & security in the covenant-keeping God caring for him, as a devoted shepherd for his sheep. v1b: “I shall not want” = Yehovah Yireh, the LORD my PROVIDER (seeing ahead & providing for us by His Sacrifice, Gen 22;14). He said: “I AM the BREAD of LIFE” (Jn 6:35). By the provision of Himself, in His death & resurrection He meets all our needs (Ro 8:32, 5000). “I'll not want” confesses covenant confidence in Him. v2: “He makes me to lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside the still waters” = Yehovah Shalom, the Lord my Peace (Jud 6:24). He said: “I AM the VINE” (Jn 15:1, Eph 2:14). v3: “He restores my soul” = Yehovah Rophe, the Lord my Healer (Ex 15:26). He said: “I AM the Resurrection & Life” (Jn 11:26). v3b: “He leads me in the paths of RIGHTEOUSNESS for His Name's sake” = Yehovah Tsidkenu, the Lord my Righteousness (Jer 23:6, 33:16). He said: “I AM the DOOR” into God's Presence & Kingdom (Jn 10:7,9). v4: “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for YOU are WITH ME Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me” = Yehovah Shammah, the LORD is PRESENT (Ezek 48:35). He said: “I AM the LIGHT” (Jn 8:12, 9:5). As sheep on their own are helpless, lost & defenceless, so without our Shepherd we'd be destroyed. Ps 23 is most beloved for believers, for it tells us we're never alone, without help or hope. Now the scene changes. The Shepherd is now a King giving a bountiful Banquet. v5: “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies” = Yehovah Nissi, the Lord my Banner of Victory (Ex 17:15). The risen Christ claims this (Rev 1:18). A good host gave protection & provision for his guests. To prepare (set in order) suggests foresight & care, 'before me' means personal provision. He knows all our needs & prepared His perfect provision for us of every blessing, in this life (with our enemies present) & eternity. To dine together signified abiding friendship. In context, to sit at table with the Lord & partake of the meal He's prepared is the manifestation of our covenant relationship & close fellowship (Rev 3:20). He shows His love, by preparing an everlasting feast for us in His Presence, under His Banner of Protection, for He won the Victory for us (Song 2:4). A fulfilment of this is Holy Communion. He invites us to come & partake of Himself. Every blessing revealed by Ps 23 & 8 Covenant Names is ours in Christ. He wants us to draw near & receive of His abundance. v5b: “You anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over” = Yehovah M'kaddesh, the LORD my Sanctifier (Lev 20:8). He said: “I AM the WAY, TRUTH & LIFE” (Jn 14:6). A host anoints his guest with oil (Lk 7:44-46), representing sanctification & empowerment with His Spirit. ‘My cup runs over' speaks of a generous host, ever filling our cup to overflowing (Eph 5:18), giving us life & joy in His Spirit (Jn 10:10). His abundant provision shows His great love for us, but the main blessing of the Banquet is to be with Him. Ps 23 concludes with a summary of the results of the Shepherd's Ministry to us in this life & eternity, v6: “Surely goodness (grace) & mercy (chesed) shall follow (pursue) me (with vigor) all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the House of the Lord (Heaven) forever.” He's sure of enjoying His Presence all his life, & that He'll lead him thru the valley of death to Heaven, where he'll dwell with Him forever - a key verse to comfort those facing death. Don't follow (covet) blessings, but follow our Shepherd & the blessings will follow. His Ministry as our personal Shepherd continues forever (Rev 7:15-17). Grace & mercy covers all. In grace He gives what we don't deserve & in mercy He doesn't give what we deserve.
With the victorious cry: "You have answered Me!" (v21), Ps 22 transitions from lament to thanksgiving, travail to triumph, from prayer of suffering, alone & forsaken in the dark, to praise for salvation in the light of God's Presence, declaring the universal & eternal consequences of His sacrificial death on our behalf, from a prophecy of the Cross to His resurrection, ushering in a new age of grace (v22-31), including the forming of a worshipping community, expanding from Israel (v23) to the world (v25-29), as the Gospel is proclaimed (v30-31). It predicts the universal & eternal significance of His death & resurrection. 1st He announces the formation of His new spiritual family, the Church, reborn by His resurrection as the firstborn of many brethren (v22, Rom 8:29). His desire is for God to be glorified by His people, especially as they gather together, for praise is the repeating theme of all these verses. God's glory is the ultimate fruit of His work. v23-24: “You who fear the Lord, praise Him!” (true believers fear God; true praise is from submitted hearts). “All you descendants of Jacob, glorify Him, and fear Him, all you offspring of Israel! For He has not despised nor abhorred the affliction (v1-21) of the afflicted (Messiah); nor has He hidden His face from Him; but when He cried to Him, He heard (by raising Him from death).” This predicts the Gospel will go 1st to Israel, that God has fully accepted the value of His sacrificial death (v1-21) as the sufficient basis (payment) for our salvation and has declared this by His resurrection. The risen Christ calls all Israel to respond & glorify God by believing in Him & His finished work, submitting to & praising Him, for what He's accomplished. Then v25 predicts the formation of a great Assembly of believers, united to Christ, praising God together, growing & expanding across the world (also v27): “My praise shall be of You in the great Assembly” (v25a). A reason why they praise is they share in His great sacrificial feast: "I will pay My vows before those who fear Him. The poor shall eat and be satisfied" (v25b-26a). A man in trouble prays for God's help (v1-21) & makes vows to fulfil after his deliverance, including a peace offering for thanksgiving in the Temple, then sharing the benefits of the sacrifice with family, friends & poor in a communal meal before God, joyfully partaking of the sacrifice (Lev 7:15-16, Deut 12;17-19). Likewise, Christ purchased every blessing for us. He vowed to God to offer His sacrificial Blood in the heavenly Temple on our behalf & share His purchased blessings with us in an everlasting sacrificial Feast. He fulfils His vow, inviting us to come to God to partake. As the Sacrifice, He shares Himself with us. Only believers (poor in spirit) respond, eat & are satisfied. His provision is abundant & sufficient for all our needs. "Those who seek Him will (find Him and) praise the Lord" (v26b). Seekers become singers. The blessings are for this life & eternal life & glory with God: "Let your heart live forever!" (v26c). Next, we see the conversion of the Gentiles in the Church Age & Millennium as a result of His Sacrifice: "All the ends of the world shall remember and turn to the Lord, and all the families of the nations shall worship before You." A picture of true conversion (prodigal son): (1) REMEMBER - come to a right mind about God, (2) REPENT - turn from sin to God. (3) REVERENCE - the fruit of this repentance is a lifestyle of worship. This Gentile salvation is only accomplished by Christ (Isa 42,49,53, Gen 12:1-3). Thus, the success of the Gospel proves Jesus is the Christ. It's clear these verses are not about David. This victory is the basis for God's Kingdom on earth: "For the Kingdom is the Lord's, and He rules over the nations" (v28). Christ will be made Lord of all people in every realm (v29) - fulfilled (Phil 2:9-11, Ro 14:10-11). The last verses predict the propagation of salvation by the Gospel from one generation to the next: "A posterity (seed - future generations, or 'His seed', born again spiritual offspring, Isa 53:10) shall serve Him. It will be recounted of the Lord to the next generation" (v30). One way they serve Him is by the Gospel. "They will come (to God, to Christ, & come forth to new life), and declare His righteousness (all He did in His perfect life & death, and in giving His perfect righteousness to us) to a people, who will be born (again) that He has DONE this.” This is the message, that "He has FINISHED it" (in 2Chr 4:11 this word describes the finishing of the Temple. Likewise, Jesus finished the work to make us His Temple). Thus, the burden of the Gospel is His finished work. Jesus quoted this verse on the Cross, just before He died in John 19:30: “Jesus said: “It is finished!” May we see our salvation fully accomplished by Him. He paid in full for our forgiveness & abundant & eternal life. Jesus quoted the 1st & last verse on the Cross, showing all Ps 22 is messianic.
We have examined the Old Testament sacrifices, and how they all pre-figure the Mass. But instead of offering lambs, in the New Testament we offer bread and wine. Instead of the priest and victim being separate beings, today, they are one. Why? Why did God wish to have a sacrifice done this way? Why did Christ institute the Mass at the Last Supper, before His Sacrifice? We will look at the Last Supper and the Passion from a theological, historical, and anthropological perspective. We will see that Jesus knew full well what any first-century Jew would have known: when it came to the Passover, you did not only have to kill the lamb; to fulfill God's law, to be saved from death, you had to eat the lamb. Ps 20 describes Israel's spiritual preparation before an impending battle, a day of trouble (v1). It is a model for how to prepare ourselves in prayer, to walk in victory in our spiritual battles & days of trouble. It twins with Ps 21, describing the celebration after the victory (c.f 20:2,5 & 21:1; 20:4 & 21:2). The central character is the anointed king (v6), leading his people into battle. It finds its ultimate fulfilment in Christ, who leads His people to victory (battles of the Lord are pictures of His ultimate battle, when Christ personally overcomes all His enemies). Thus Ps 20 is messianic like Ps 21). The setting shows God's people gathering before Him before battle, dedicating their lives to God, and calling on the covenant-keeping God to go with them to battle & give them victory. Their trust in & submission to God was expressed thru the sacrifice the king offered up on behalf of the nation (v3, 1Sam 7:7-12). The efficacy of their prayers was based on the merits of the sacrifice, representing the Sacrifice of Christ. Likewise, we come to God on the basis of Christ's righteousness, given us thru His Sacrifice, and dedicate ourselves to God to do His will (Rom 12:1), acknowledging the battle belongs to Him & we fight in His Name, under His authority, for His glory & will to be done. Thru this dedication, His Presence comes on us transforming us into mighty warriors (Ro 12:2), for He gives grace to the humble. At this point the priests encouraged the army to fear not, even if the enemy seems superior, for God goes with them into the battle to fight for them (Deut 20:1-4). So, in our battles, we don't fight in our own strength, but daily come to God with a sacrifice of praise, dedicating ourselves for His will to be done thru us, and drawing on His grace. In v1-5, the people (‘we' in v5) pray for the anointed king (David), who speaks in v6. They are one with their king, so his victory is theirs. “May the LORD answer you in the day of trouble; may the Name (revealed nature) of the God of Jacob defend you (set you on high)” (v1). They call on God to manifest His Name on behalf of His people. “May He send you help from the Sanctuary (the Place of God's Presence) and strengthen you out of Zion” (v2). The key to victory is His Presence, so to receive help from God, we must draw near to Him, so His Presence fills us. The 1st key in spiritual warfare is to look to & submit to God, calling on Him to fill us with His Presence. “May He remember all your offerings and accept your burnt sacrifice. Selah” (v3). They offered their prayers on the foundation of the sacrifice. Likewise, when we pray, we trust in Christ's Sacrifice for God to accept our dedication & for our prayer to be answered. “May He grant you according to your heart's desire (the saving of his people, victory over God's enemies & God's glory) and fulfil all your purpose” (v4). Their prayer ends with assurance of victory, and readiness to go into battle under His Banner, as He goes with them to give them victory (Ex 17:15): “We will rejoice in your salvation (victory), and in the Name of our God, we will set up our banners! May the Lord fulfil all your petitions” (v5). Thus, true dedication to God brings assurance of God's Presence, which we confess with our lips, that God is with us. In response, the king declares his faith, that God's mighty right hand will give him the victory: “Now I know that the Lord saves (gives victory) to His anointed; He will answer him from His holy Heaven with the saving strength of His right hand” (v6). Then the people also declare their faith is in God, not in the strength of their forces. They focus on & make mention of (confess) His Name, His faithfulness to the covenant (v7), and, by faith they confess the final outcome of victory, before battle begins (v8). Again, we see it's important to confess our faith (Rom 10:8-10, 2Cor 4:13), as part of our spiritual preparation for battle. The concluding prayer in v8 is best translated: “O Lord, save (give victory to) the king, answer us in the day of our calling” (the origin of 'God save the king'). This is another link to Ps 21 (v1), v2 of which records the answer to this prayer. We show how Ps 20 was fulfilled by Christ, on His day of trouble, after which He was lifted up on high (v1), by God in Heaven (v2), who accepted His perfect Sacrifice (v3). God granted Jesus His heart's desire (our salvation, the defeat of all His enemies & the fulfilment of His purpose to establish His Kingdom over all, v4). God gave victory to His Anointed by raising Him from death by His mighty power (v6). His people call on the exalted King, who is also Lord, for salvation (v9, Rom 10:13). They now rejoice in His salvation, for He won the victory for us, and now ever-lives to make intercession for us (v5). They now trust in His Name, rather than their own resources (v7), and are assured of the final downfall of the wicked and their own future resurrection to life (v8).

Jesus said in John 14:1,27: “Do not let your HEART be TROUBLED; believe in God, believe also in Me ... Peace I leave with you, My Peace I give to you... Do not let your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” *(I) The TROUBLED HEART: “Do not let your HEART be TROUBLED” (John 14:1a). The Greek verb used here for ‘troubled' is tarassō: to stir up, agitate or roil, as of the sea (Matthew 2:3). It is used x3 of Jesus in John 11:33, 12:27, 13:21, before He said in John 14:1: “Let not your HEART be TROUBLED; believe (trust) in God, believe (trust) also in Me.” Jesus tells us to not allow the core of our being to be moved from its centre in God. Proverbs 4:23: “GUARD your HEART with all diligence, for out of it (your heart) spring (flow) the issues of life.” *(II) The TRUSTING HEART: John 14:1: “Let not your heart be troubled; BELIEVE (trust) in God, BELIEVE (trust) also in Me.” Having commanded us not to have a troubled heart, He then tells us what to do instead: BELIEVE! Instead of being TROUBLED, let us TRUST in Him. This is not talking about a vague belief in God, but Jesus commands us to TRUST in Him, to have a trusting heart. We can TRUST Him in times of TROUBLE, because He has given us certain PROMISES in John 14. These promises are like anchors for us, when we are tempted to have a troubled heart. *PROMISE (1): “In My Father's House (Heaven) are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to PREPARE a PLACE for YOU (in Heaven). And if I go and PREPARE a PLACE for YOU, I will COME again and RECEIVE you to MYSELF; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go (Heaven) you know, and the way you know” (John 14:2-4). *PROMISE (2): “Whatever you ASK in My NAME, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ASK anything in My NAME, I will do it” (John 14:13-14). *PROMISE (3): “I will not leave you orphans; I will COME to YOU (through the Holy Spirit)” (John 14:18). “I will pray the Father, and He will give you another HELPER, that He may abide with you forever, the SPIRIT of TRUTH, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He DWELLS with you and will be IN YOU” (John 14:16-17). See also 1John 4:4. Jesus says: “BELIEVE in ME, when I say I am going away to prepare a place for you and will come again to receive you to Myself” (John 14:1-3). Jesus says: “BELIEVE in ME, when I say I am leaving you My NAME, and you can ask whatever you need, and I will do it” (John 14:1,13-14). Jesus says: “BELIEVE in ME, when I say I will not leave you on your own, but I will give you the Presence of the HOLY SPIRIT, to live inside you and be available to help, strengthen and lead you” (John 14:1,16-18). Proverbs 3:5: “TRUST in the Lord with all your HEART, and lean not on your own understanding.” This trust in Jesus, centred and fixed on Him, brings us to a place of peace in the middle of trouble. Isaiah 26:3: “You will keep him in PERFECT PEACE, whose mind is stayed (fixed, leaning, resting) on You, because he TRUSTS in You.” *(III) The TOWERING HEART: After He promised to us the PRESENCE and HELP of the HOLY SPIRIT, Jesus also promised to give us His PEACE: “the HELPER, the HOLY SPIRIT, whom the Father will send in My Name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. PEACE, I leave with you, MY PEACE I give to you” (John 14:26-27). Jesus has left the HOLY SPIRIT with us, who is the GOD of PEACE (Philippians 4:9). In Judges 6:24, God reveals Himself to Gideon as Jehovah SHALOM - the Lord is our PEACE. PEACE is not just the ABSENCE of conflict, but God's PRESENCE in our heart in the midst of turmoil. John 14:27: ”PEACE, I leave with you, MY PEACE I give to you (in your heart), not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not LET your HEART be TROUBLED (John 14:1), neither let it be afraid (don't be cowardly)." Philippians 4:7: “The PEACE of God, which passes all understanding, will GUARD (protect) your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” His PEACE is like the WALLS of a castle, towering around our hearts. Romans 5:1: “We have PEACE with God through our Lord Jesus Christ”, because: “Jesus is our PEACE” (Ephesians 2:14). He has given us His PEACE. That PEACE is already ours, because of His Sacrifice on the Cross. For this reason, instead of having a TROUBLED HEART, we can have a TRUSTING HEART. Moreover, we can have a TOWERING HEART, that towers over and above the trouble, by abiding in His PEACE. Proverbs 18:10: “The NAME of the LORD (Jehovah Shalom) is a STRONG TOWER; the righteous run into it and they are SAFE.” We can TRUST in JESUS and stand in the STRONG TOWER of His PEACE, no matter what's going on in the world around us. He is our JEHOVAH SHALOM - the LORD our PEACE (Judges 6:24).

In just about every context, the word “reckless” either means not heeding danger or not knowing the outcome and acting anyway. A parent who plunges into a burning house to rescue a child is reckless in the sense that they're ignoring the danger and might die in the process. That could certainly be called reckless love and is probably the most positive example of recklessness. God's love, on the other hand, is incredibly intentional and fully omniscient, and that's what makes it so beautiful. When it comes to saving and rescuing and redeeming and loving us, God knew EXACTLY what he was getting into. This is Episode Four of Reckless: His Love... His Sacrifice.

He made a whip out of cords and drove them all out of the temple area, with the sheep and oxen, and spilled the coins of the money-changers and overturned their tables, and to those who sold doves he said, “Take these out of here, and stop making my Father's house a marketplace.” John 2:15–16All four Gospels speak of Jesus' cleansing of the Temple. However, there is a difference between the way this event is portrayed in the Synoptic Gospels (Matthew, Mark and Luke) and in the way it is portrayed in John's Gospel. John's Gospel places this event at the very beginning of Jesus' public ministry during the first of His three annual trips to Jerusalem for the Passover. This was His first attempt at cleansing the Temple. Jesus was also less severe in John's version of the story, stating only that the moneychangers had turned His Father's House into a “marketplace.” In the three Synoptic Gospels, this event takes place at the very end of Jesus' public ministry, less than a week before Jesus' death when He returned to Jerusalem for the last time. In those versions, Jesus was more severe, stating that the moneychangers had turned His Father's House into a “den of thieves” and not just a “marketplace.” In commenting upon the differences between John's version and the Synoptics, Saint Augustine and Saint Thomas Aquinas believe that they are two different occasions when a similar act of cleansing of the Temple took place. The Jewish Temple, at the time of Jesus' public ministry, was the place people traveled to each year for Passover to offer the sacrifice of a spotless lamb in commemoration of the first Passover in Egypt when God set the Jews free from slavery. During this annual celebration, Jewish families who traveled to Jerusalem would purchase a lamb for sacrifice. At the appointed time, they slaughtered the animal in the courtyard of the Temple and then presented it to the priest who gathered some of the blood and sprinkled it on the altar, and then removed the skin, organs and fat to be burned in sacrifice. The meat was returned to the family and roasted on a pomegranate branch so that they could feast on it as they recalled the saving action God granted their ancestors in Egypt. Today, we see the Jewish Temple as a symbol and prefiguration of Christ, the New Temple Who is also the priest and the Lamb of Sacrifice. Recall, also, that at Jesus' death, the veil of the Temple was torn in two, opening it up to the whole world so that all may share in the Sacrifice of the Lamb of God. We are now invited into this Holy of Holies to share in the new life of grace accomplished by His Sacrifice. Since the grace of this Sacrifice of our Lord enters into each and every heart that believes, to cleanse and purify, then every person receiving this grace becomes a new dwelling place of God, a member of His new Temple, the Body of Christ. When Jesus came to the Passover feast and witnessed the buying and selling of these animals in the Temple, He drove them out with much zeal. It was clear that this holy celebration of the Passover had become less of a celebration of faith and more of a marketplace for profit. Jesus' action is also a symbol of the zeal with which He now seeks to cleanse the temple of your soul. At first, when sin and disorder pervade our souls, our Lord may take the approach of a gentle rebuke, as He did in His first cleansing of the Temple in John's Gospel. If we persist in our sins, then our Lord will become more zealous in His cleansing as He was in His final attempt to cleanse the Temple the week before He died.Reflect, today, upon this twofold cleansing of the Temple in Jerusalem by our Lord and apply Jesus' sacred actions today to your own soul. Are there new sins that you have fallen into recently that require a gentle rebuke from our Lord? Are there sins that Jesus has been revealing to you for years now that you obstinately persist in? Allow Him to rebuke you in love and to cleanse you so that His saving Sacrifice as the Lamb of God will indeed purify you, and allow His judgment and wrath to “passover” you this Lent.My cleansing Lord, You cleansed the Temple of Jerusalem not once, but twice. Your zeal for its purity of worship was clear. Please come and make my soul Your dwelling place today and cleanse me of all sin. Please help me to especially see any ways that I have remained obstinate in my sin, and please cleanse those sins with much vigor. Jesus, I trust in You. What is the evidence of ultimate love?Is it affection? Is it romance? Is it loyalty? Is it commitment? Something else? The answer can be found in one person. He was the only person to exemplify ultimate love in all of its beauty and radiance. His name is Jesus Christ, and with His life, or perhaps more accurately, His death, He demonstrated the evidence of ultimate love with His SACRIFICE on the cross. God calls husbands to look to the image of Jesus Christ in loving their wives. He expects husbands to love their wives sacrificially. He calls them to go against the tide of sin, which causes husbands and wives to each see their own positions as more important than the other. He calls them to put aside their desires and serve their wives, honoring them as treasures entrusted to their keeping by a good and loving God. Peter wanted the marriages in his churches to thrive, and he challenged husbands to follow the example of Christ in their marriages, something he knew they could only do through the power of the Holy Spirit. Join us as we consider a husband's responsibility from God's perspective through the writing of Peter and gain an understanding of the immense importance that God places on the role of "husband."Support the showVisit our Merch Store to support the show!

Paul compares the Old Covenant and its children to Hagar and Ishmael, pointing out that by its nature the Old Covenant (Hagar, the bond-slave) gives birth to children of bondage (Ishmael). He strengthens this identification by pointing out that the origin of the Old Covenant, Mount Sinai, is in Arabia, where Hagar and Ishmael settled after being cast out, from whom came the Arabs. Thus it is clear that the real Mount Sinai must be in Saudi Arabia, rather than in the Sinai Peninsula (a late tradition established during the Byzantine Empire). This agrees with earlier Jewish writings, and with other Scriptures, especially those that locate Mount Sinai in the region of Midian. We discuss the location and discovery of the real Mount Sinai and the split Rock, as well as the place of the Red Sea Crossing, pointing out that scriptures that speak of Yam Suph (translated as Red Sea) point to the Gulf of Aqaba, not the Gulf of Suez or its shallow marshy lakes, which means the parting of the waters was indeed a mighty miracle, just as the Bible describes. Although, the New Jerusalem (like Sarah) had been desolate of children (no one was born again before the New Covenant was established), now she is giving birth to an ever-increasing number of children, as Galatians 4:26-27 points out, by quoting a prophecy from Isaiah 54:1. Thus immediately after the classic prophecy of Christ's sacrificial death and resurrection to establish the New Covenant in Isaiah 53, Isaiah 54 describes the wonderful results of His Sacrifice, including the new birth of multitudes of spiritual children in Christ. Finally, we see that, as always, those who are just born according to the flesh (like Ishmael) persecute those who are born according to the Spirit (like Isaac).

Questions Covered: 00:43 – The Church has precepts that relate to minimum standards of behavior (receive communion once during the Easter season, etc.) Are there also minimum standards of belief to be considered in communion with the Church? (For example The Trinity, Bible, virgin birth etc.) 04:38 – What do priests do when you confess to a murder? I’m pretty sure they can’t make turning yourself in a requirement for absolution, but it strikes me that “five hail marys and three our fathers” isn’t exactly going to cut it either. 07:56 – Exegetical questions: What does the unjust steward parable mean? Why is it considered inspired in a Psalm that we should crush the heads of babies? 19:04 – Recently during a homily, I heard that a piece of a person's soul literally goes into the food they prepare. So, if the food is made by religious nuns the food will taste better because of the love in the food. On the other hand, if it is prepared by someone evil, the opposite will occur. Furthermore, he said that the traditional blessing of food is an exorcism to keep evil spirits away from your food, so you don't consume them. Is this a teaching of the Catholic Church? 28:33 – What is the story with Lilith? I have people tell me she was Adam's ‘first wife' but they are usually getting that from a Discovery Channel alien show or something that their friend posted on FB. What is the truth? Is she in the Old Testament? Does the Catholic Church say anything about her? 34:30 – What is the exact status of the Coptic Orthodox Church in regards of small “o” orthodoxy? 44:14 – Which part of the Trinity is responsible for life? 48:15 – What was the nature of Holy Communion on the original Holy Thursday? As Our Lord had not risen yet it couldn’t have been His resurrected Body, right? 49:15 – If part of the Host were reserved on Holy Thursday would It have died on Good Friday and resurrected? 50:30 – During Mass the bread and wine become the Body and Blood of Our Lord as His Sacrifice is made present on the altar. We receive the resurrected Body of Christ. Is the Resurrection made present on the altar as well? If so, when? …
On this Easter Sunday, we celebrate the Resurrection of Christ and are reminded of the invitation given to each of us because of His Sacrifice.
“The days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast.” Matthew 9:15Fridays in Lent…are you ready for them? Every Friday in Lent is a day of abstinence from meat. So be sure to embrace this little sacrifice today in union with our entire Church. What a blessing it is to offer sacrifice as an entire Church! Fridays in Lent (and, in fact, throughout the year) are also days in which the Church asks us to do some form of penance. Abstinence from meat certainly falls into that category, unless you dislike meat and love fish. The most important thing to understand about Fridays in Lent is that they should be a day of sacrifice. Jesus offered the ultimate sacrifice on a Friday and endured the most excruciating pain for the atonement of our sins. We should not hesitate to offer our own sacrifice and to strive to spiritually unite that sacrifice to Christ's. Why would we do that? At the heart of the answer to that question is a basic understanding of redemption from sin. It's important to understand the unique and profound teaching of our Catholic Church on this. As Catholics, we do share a common belief with other Christians throughout the world that Jesus is the one and only Savior of the world. The only way to Heaven is through the redemption won by His Cross. In a sense, Jesus “paid the price” of death for our sins. He took on our punishment. But with that said, we must understand our role and responsibility in receiving this priceless gift. It's not simply a gift that God offers by saying, “OK, I paid the price, now you're completely off the hook.” No, we believe He says something more like this, “I have opened the door to salvation through my suffering and death. Now I invite you to enter that door with me and unite your own sufferings with mine so that my sufferings, united with yours, will bring you to salvation and freedom from sin.” So, in a sense, we are not “off the hook;” rather, we now have a way to freedom and salvation by uniting our lives, sufferings and sins to the Cross of Christ. As Catholics, we understand that salvation came at a price and that the price was not only the death of Jesus, it's also our willing participation in His suffering and death. This is the way that His Sacrifice transforms our particular sins.Fridays in Lent are days in which we are especially invited to unite ourselves, voluntarily and freely, with the Sacrifice of Jesus. His Sacrifice required of Him great selflessness and self-denial. The small acts of fasting, abstinence and other forms of self-denial you choose dispose your will to be more conformed to Christ's so as to be able to more completely unite yourself with Him, receiving the grace of salvation. Reflect, today, upon the small sacrifices you are called to make this Lent—especially on Fridays in Lent. Make the choice to be sacrificial today and you will discover that it is the best way to enter into a deeper union with the Savior of the World. Most sacrificial Lord, I choose, this day, to become one with You in Your suffering and death. I offer You my suffering and my sin. Please forgive my sin and allow my suffering, especially that which results from my sin, to be transformed by Your own suffering so that I can share in the joy of Your Resurrection. May the small sacrifices and acts of self-denial I offer You become a source of my deeper union with You. Jesus, I trust in You.Source of content: catholic-daily-reflections.comCopyright © 2022 My Catholic Life! Inc. All rights reserved. Used with permission via RSS feed.

Learning to understand the unchangeable approach to God is Jesus Christ and His Sacrifice
We are in a sermon series this Advent season on the names of God. How does the Bible talk about God? What names does He have, the Son given to us on Christmas, who has come to us and will come again? He is the Lord of hosts which is a reminder that we do not fight alone. He is an invisible general, fighting for us. He isn't afraid of a human army, and swords and shields and chariots. He's the lord of hosts! He doesn't see our battles the way we do. He sees beyond the physical and material. Beyond the human solutions and strategies. And He asks His people to trust Him, that He can do it, even when it looks impossible. Someone fights for us. Do you know that? When you feel overwhelmed by your life. When it feels impossible. Like nobody can make this okay. Do you know God is fighting with you? Do you feel the difference that makes? Someone wins for us. There will be no end to justice and peace when God sends this king. And His victory. Is our victory. The Lord of Hosts becomes human. Jesus. Born in a manger. To defeat our real enemies. And His victory over sin and death is our victory. Somebody wins for us. God knows what it feels like to be rejected. Maybe you've been hurt recently. Maybe somebody has torn your heart apart. Or … it may have been something that happened years ago. You may feel rejected by a person … by a synagogue or church … by a group of people. But I want to tell you nobody's ever been rejected like God. Today you can meet God's need … and he'll meet yours! _____________________________________ YOU CAN MEET GOD'S NEED TODAYGOD HAS RESERVED TIME FOR YOU God has a need today. And I want to tell you how to meet it. When Satan was cast out of Heaven, one-third of the angels fell with him. The Bible tells us that Lucifer (the devil) was the anointed cherub that covers. He was created by God—a beautiful being—but being lifted up in pride because of his beauty—instead of thanking and worshiping God for making him that way—he became deceived. He said, “I will be like the most high” … and God cast him down. God then created a more beautiful being: an earthling named Adam—and his wife, Eve. God created man in his own image … after his own likeness. God is a spiritual being and man is a spiritual being. But man went astray also. God knows what it's like to be rejected. Maybe you've been hurt recently. Maybe somebody has torn your heart apart. Or … it may have been something that happened years ago. You may feel rejected by a person … by a synagogue or church … by a group of people. But I want to tell you nobody's ever been rejected like God. Today you can meet God's need … and He will meet yours. God wants to talk with you today. He wants to heal that problem in your life. God wants to make something beautiful out of your life today. And he's got all the time in the world for you. God sent his Son into the world. He moved right into your neighborhood because He loved you and wanted to be the ONE Supreme Sacrifice that would pay for all your imperfections. Christ died for your sins. And then he entered Heaven. The Bible tells us He purchaed you with his own blood. You're already forgiven IF you'll receive it ... that's the Good News. That's the Gospel. But Jesus did more than just pay for your sins on the cross-stake. He atoned for (paid for) every dimension of your life. God is a Trinity. And so as man. God, the Father … God, the Son … and God, the Holy Spirit, created man after their likeness—with a threefold nature. The trinity of man is also threefold: composed of body, soul (intellect, emotion, will) and spirit. So the atonement of Jesus made it possible for every dimension of man to be brought into healing alignment with God. FIRST ~ Let me repeat what I said previously, “The atonement of Jesus made it possible for every dimension of man to be brought into healing alignment with God.” Jesus made atonement for your body. At the Roman judgment hall, Jesus' body became a whipping post for YOU. On the cross-stake the nails that pierced his body opened the way for the healing of YOUR body. As the Scripture says, “By his stripes [wounds from beating and from the crucifixion] you were healed.” “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.”– Isaiah 53:5 “Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.”– 1 Peter 2:24 Notice that in Isaiah 53:5 it says that we ARE healed―it was looking in the future to the cross-stake (750 B.C. was when Isaiah prophesied it). 1 Peter 2:24 says you WERE healed looking back at the cross-stake (after the atonement of Messiah Jesus). SECOND ~ Jesus atoned for your soul (your intellect, emotion and will) in the garden, where he sweat great drops of blood. He said, “Father, if it be your will let this cup of suffering pass from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours be done.” God needed a will that he could will His will through. One of the results of Adam's sin in the garden was thorns. There were no thorns before Adam and Eve sinned. And it's an amazing thing that the very thorns—which were a result of the curse on the earth—were the very instruments that loosed the Blood which purchased your healing and brought deliverance from the curse. “Knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. He indeed was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you.” (1 Peter 1:18-20) So it is with that situation in your life today. It may be an interpersonal relationship. It may be friction between you and another person: possibly somebody near or dear to you. It may be a relationship in your synagogue or church. It may be a situation at your place of employment or school. It may be something that's just a great weight upon your mind and heart. Somebody mistreating you … somebody not understanding you. Those very thorns―those problems you are experiencing―can be used as instruments that will loose healing and bring MIRACLES that YOU are not even expecting … not even considering! (Look at the life of Joseph!) The very thorns that pierced the head of the Lord Jesus—thorns which were a result of the curse on earth from man's sin—were the very thorns that loosed healing for YOU. That situation in your life can be turned around and healing can be effected IF you'll receive it. Follow God … and do the Father's will. And you CAN do it because Messiah Yeshua atoned for your will. It's available for you … IF you receive it because of the blood Jesus shed. Oh, you're dead to evil thoughts. You're dead to the world. The mind is where the enemy attacks you. The mind is the door to evil thoughts, to suggestions, to fears, to the oppression of the enemy. And today―because of Jesus atoning for your will―you can be dead to the evil thoughts, to the oppression of Satan and to the world. And they will be dead to you! THIRD ~ Not only did Jesus atone for your body, not only did he atone for your will, but he atoned for your spirit. By His shed BLOOD and by His SACRIFICE for YOU on the cross-stake―which paid for all of your sins―your spiritual man is free IF you will receive it. REMEMBER: A gift does YOU no good unless you receive it. REMEMBER A GIFT DOES YOU NO GOOD UNLESS YOU RECEIVE IT Under the Old Testament, the blood covered as the priest sacrificed for the sins and transgressions of the people―but the blood of animals did not cleanse―it only covered. However, in the Brit Chadashah (New Testament or New Covenant) the blood of Messiah Jesus cleanses. Under the Old Testament law, there was forgiveness when a man brought the sacrifice that was offered, but under the New Testament there is not only forgiveness, but there is deliverance so that you don't have to be plagued with that same act, that same habit … with that same bondage of the enemy. So Jesus atoned for your body, for your soul, and for your spirit: the three parts of your nature. Today―because of the atonement of God's Son for you―you can meet God's need. God is looking for someone to love him and talk to Him. You can fellowship with God. You can be a blessing to God. You can talk to God and you can receive from Him. Right now in the name of Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God―who atoned for your body, your soul, and your spirit―I command you to be healed. Walk out of that wheelchair, get off that bed of affliction. I command the oppression of Satan to leave you right now. I command you to be filled with God's Love and with His Spirit, to speak in a new language―to pray in tongues―because of the Atonement … the TOTAL HEALING … in every dimension of your life: your body, your soul, and your spirit. Measure God's Love by His Sacrifice for Us Mark 1:12-15
From Ashes to Ashes in Christ Jesus By Rick Stuckwish The ashes for which this holy day is named, with which your forehead may be marked, are a sign of repentance because they signify and point to your death. There is nothing heroic in making this confession; it is simply the truth. You are mortal. You are dying, as you must, because you are a sinner. So much for your ambitions, your accomplishments, and your accumulated wealth. Your mortality and death are the necessary consequence and punishment of your sin, which goes far deeper than your behavior to the very heart and soul of you. Conceived and born in sin, you are unholy and unclean, not only at odds with God but unable and unwilling to seek Him out or draw near to Him. And yet, because you cannot escape His presence, His holiness consumes you. And yet, above all, the holiness of God the Lord is mercy. So He does not allow death to be or to have the last word, but He takes death itself into His hands to become the remedy and solution to your sin. For one thing, your dying brings an end to your sinfulness and sinning. As St. Paul says, the one who has died is freed from sin. But that would hardly be a happy ending, if that were it. Your death would not make things right, put things back together, or bring you to God in peace. However, what your death could not achieve, the death of Jesus Christ has done for you and all. The Lord your God does not desire your death, nor the death of any sinner, but that you would be set free from sin and death, and that you would live without sin, holy and righteous before Him. Therefore, God the Father has given His own dear Son, and the beloved Son has given Himself, even into death, in order to atone for your sin by His Sacrifice upon the Cross, by the shedding of His sacred Blood on your behalf. And having done so in holy faith and holy love, His Resurrection from the dead is now your Righteousness, in which you are raised up to newness of life in Him. As you have been taught by the Word and Spirit of God, you share in the death and resurrection of Christ by your Holy Baptism. That is why the ashes are signed upon your forehead in the shape of His Cross, recalling both His Sacrifice for you and your Baptism into Him, that you have died with Him, and that your life is hidden with Christ in God. Although you are still sinful, and your mortal body is still dying, returning to the dust whence you are taken, yet you are set free from the power of sin and death. You are alive, and you are righteous in Christ Jesus, by faith in Him. When you know that your righteousness is by this faith in Christ, and not by your own works or efforts, then you also know how to practice your righteousness rightly. It is to live by faith under the Cross of Christ in the hope of His Resurrection from the dead. It is a righteousness that cannot be seen by men; neither can you see it in yourself. But it is exercised in faith as you bear the Cross of repentance for your sin, and as you bear the Cross in love for your neighbor. Dying to yourself, you live unto God, and you live for those around you, not to impress them, but to care for them. This baptismal life is your whole burnt offering, the sacrifice of your whole body and life, which you render upon the atoning Sacrifice of Christ Jesus. By repentance and faith in His Cross and Resurrection, you are offered up, given up, and given over entirely to God. You are consumed by the fire of His Spirit, but so also purged of your idolatries and purified by the holiness of Christ. And the smoke that rises from this sacrifice is pleasing and acceptable to the Lord your God, as surely as the Father has received His Son back from the dead and seated Him at His right hand. Of particular interest on this day are the ashes of the whole burnt offering, which were removed by the priest from the Lord's Altar to a clean place outside the camp of Israel. For so do your body and life remain in this world, but no longer of it; no longer unclean because of your sins, which are removed, but cleansed and forgiven by the Blood of Christ Jesus and His acceptable Sacrifice. Even now in your still mortal flesh, you live and abide outside the camp with the Crucified One. And this burnt offering of your body and life as a Christian, this living sacrifice of repentance, faith, and love, is characterized and exercised by those three basic practices to which Christ Jesus refers in the Holy Gospel for this day: fasting, almsgiving, and prayer. Indeed, He does not teach you to avoid this fundamental piety of the Christian life, but to avoid all pretense and presumption, and to undertake these basic activities of discipleship in the fear and faith of the one true God. To fast, to give alms, and to pray are not to be practiced as a means of gaining righteousness before God or man. There is to be no bargaining with God, nor any boasting in His presence. But you are to fast, to give alms, and to pray by the righteousness of faith in Christ Jesus, because you are reconciled to God in Him. You are justified by His grace; you are cleansed and sanctified by His forgiveness; and, by your Baptism into Him, you are dead to sin and alive to God forevermore. To fast is to reduce your consumption, to give up for awhile what you otherwise rely upon, and to deny yourself the very things you crave the most. Whatever form it takes in your life, such fasting belongs to the daily dying of repentance. To curb your appetites in this way is to curb and put to death your flesh with all its covetous idolatry, to take up the Cross, and to follow Christ by faith. Almsgiving goes hand in hand with fasting, as you deny yourself and give what you have to others. It is, indeed, the sacrifice of yourself and the gift of yourself to your neighbor in his or her need. Not for praise and recognition, but for the sake of love, in thanksgiving to the Lord Jesus Christ, who has given Himself entirely for you. In quiet humility, then, exercise mercy, and be generous in charity as you have opportunity. So, too, forgive and do good to those who sin against you. But neither fast nor give alms without also calling on the Name of the Lord in prayer, which is the very voice of faith. By it you lay hold of Christ in the promise of His Gospel, and you store up treasures for yourself in heaven; not by scaling the heights, but by confessing the Word He has placed upon your lips, by receiving the gifts He gives into your hands, and by relying on His grace. In praying to the Father in His Name, you rise and ascend with Him who has come down from heaven to you, who has given Himself into death, who has risen and returned to the Father in glory. Everything begins with and continues to depend upon the Sacrifice of Christ. He is the One who knew no sin, who yet became the Sin Offering for you and for the world. In flesh and blood like yours, He has offered Himself entirely to His God and Father on your behalf, in order to atone for your sins, to reconcile you to God in perfect peace, and to bring you into fellowship with Him. Sin has been put to death once-and-for-all in His crucified Body. All its impurity, perversion, and stains have been removed by His Blood. And in His Resurrection and Ascension, He has entered into the presence of God as your merciful and great High Priest. Thus do you have access in Him to God the Father in heaven. Indeed, you enter the inner room of the Lord's own House and Home, into the Holy of Holies, not made with hands but eternal in the heavens. And, like Christ Himself — for you are in Him and He in you by the Gospel — your sacrifice of repentance is a pleasing aroma and your prayer of faith is a sweet-smelling incense in the nostrils of the Lord your God. He hears and answers your prayers in mercy, with compassion and generous charity. His gives you His alms in abundance for both your body and your soul, for this life and for the life everlasting. He restores you day by day, throughout Lent and every day, to all the blessings and benefits of your Holy Baptism, which are the fruits and benefits of the Cross and Resurrection of Christ Jesus. He pours out the Holy Spirit upon you, anointing you with the true Oil of gladness. He washes you, cleanses you, and sanctifies you through the forgiveness of all your sins. He clothes you with the priestly garments of Christ, that is, with His own righteousness, innocence, and blessedness. And He feeds you at His Table with the priestly Food and Drink of Christ, which are His Body and His Blood. These Gifts are hidden from your sight, and from the sight of every man, being given as they are in the grain offering and drink offering of bread and wine. But the Body and Blood of the Lamb are truly present, given and poured out for you here at His Altar on earth, while never ceasing to appear and avail for you before your God and Father in the Most Holy Place in heaven. Thus do we have fellowship with God in Christ, and with each other in His one Body. And thus do we give thanks to God and bless His Holy Name as we feast upon His Son in this sacrificial Meal. And our thanksgiving, too, is sanctified, acceptable, and pleasing to Him in Christ Jesus. You are able to approach the Lord's Altar with such confidence and joy, because you are clothed in Christ and covered by His righteousness. And by the same mercies of God in Christ, you are able to live in the world in love for your neighbor, purified within and without by the Holy Spirit. For the ashes of your perishing mortal flesh reside, even now, in a clean place with Christ Jesus; while yet, in Him, your body, soul, and spirit always live and abide in the presence of the Father. Therefore, even now, on this day of grace, in this time of salvation, return to the Lord your God. For He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, abounding in steadfast love. And here in His Holy Communion is the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness, which are for you and for the many. Here is your Meat and Drink indeed. Here is not death, but your life and salvation in Christ Jesus. In the Name + of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
We are hoping the pandemic is nearing its conclusion with the vaccine rolling out in force, so it is fitting to ask a few questions. Why do have the Mass at all? Well, Jesus said "Do this in remembrance of me." But it is also fitting for God to give it to us as a continuation of His Presence, of His Sacrifice, and of His Communion with us. Plus, it's fitting for us because we are physical and social creatures, and that's how we do important things: in a physical and social way.
The Church is most united in all her three parts when she is at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. This is because what unites us is Christ – His Sacrifice, His Grace, His Eternal Love made manifest at Mass. The Church Triumphant adores God and the Lamb. The saints in Heaven do what we do at Mass, only they do it perfectly. The greatest thing we can do for the Church Suffering is offer our Holy Mass as devoutly as possible for them. We will grow in our appreciation and love for the Mass by increasing our awareness of the mysterious and marvelous ways that we are united to the entire Church at Mass. We venerate and honor the saints in four basic ways: [1] by praying to them and invoking their intercession; [2] by celebrating their feasts; [3] by reverencing their images and relics; [4] and by imitating their virtues. All the saints had purity, humility, and above all a great love of God. Consider some of the great saints best known for their devotion to Mary and Her Immaculate Heart.

Christ is present and lives in the Most Holy Eucharist. Under the impulse of His divine Love, He ceaselessly renews His Sacrifice. This Sacrament is the very soul of the Church. From this source the Church draws and has all her strength. From the rising to the setting of the sun, there should be no cessation of the Hymn of Praise and Thanksgiving [the Mass] which man owes to God. Indeed, man’s chief duty and supreme dignity is to participate in the Eucharistic sacrifice. This is all Catholic teaching from the popes. Listen to it with faith, begging our Lord to increase your faith. For if you believe it, you will value the Mass and Eucharist above everything else, even more than your own life. Likewise you will recognize that what is taking place in the Church today with regards to the cessation of Mass and Sacraments is not Catholic. This is not just an attack upon Holy Mother Church, but even more so, it is an attack upon the Supreme Majesty and Authority of God Himself!
Watch the video of this podcast here: » https://fatima.org/media/good-friday-hope-in-spiritual-darkness/ Good Friday is arguably the most sacred day of the entire year. The Church not only calls us to a perpetual remembrance of Our Savior's Cross and Death, but in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass we have a perpetual actualization of His Sacrifice. What's more, the Mass is the perpetual application, across space and time, of His Death. Nothing is more important. Darkness covered the earth on that original Good Friday, and today a spiritual darkness covers our beloved Church. Yet in Our Lady we find hope! Devotions promoted by Our Lady of Fatima - the Rosary, the Brown Scapular and Her Immaculate Heart - will lead us by way of the Cross to Her Son and eternal life. We must learn to approach our difficulties with the “Joy” – His Joy! For it is He who has redeemed us! Happiness can easily be short lived, but sincere Jesus’ Joy is Eternal. God had a Path for Jesus, it lead to Gethsemane and Jesus was willing to obey His Father, He considered it a Joy. But with that Joy He had to “give” His life. That is called a “Joyful Sacrifice!” Because He gave His Life, we now can draw Joy from His Sacrifice.
Then these regulations are not much of a sacrifice for you. The most important thing to understand about Fridays in Lent is that they should be a day of sacrifice. Jesus offered the ultimate sacrifice on a Friday and endured the most excruciating pain for the atonement of our sins. We should not hesitate to offer our own sacrifice and to strive to spiritually unite that sacrifice to Christ’s. Why would we do that? At the heart of the answer to that question is a basic understanding of redemption from sin. It’s important to understand the unique and profound teaching of our Catholic Church on this. It’s not simply a gift that God offers by saying, “OK, I paid the price, now you’re completely off the hook.” No, we believe He says something more like this, “I have opened the door to salvation through my suffering and death. As Catholics, we understand that salvation came at a price and that the price was not only the death of Jesus, it’s also our willing participation in His suffering and death. This is the way that His Sacrifice transforms our particular sins.Fridays in Lent are days in which we are especially invited to unite ourselves, voluntarily and freely, with the Sacrifice of Jesus. His Sacrifice required of Him great selflessness and self-denial. The small acts of fasting, abstinence and other forms of self-denial you choose dispose your will to be more conformed to Christ’s so as to be able to more completely unite yourself with Him, receiving the grace of salvation. Reflect, today, upon the small sacrifices you are called to make this Lent—especially on Fridays in Lent. Make the choice to be sacrificial today and you will discover that it is the best way to enter into a deeper union with the Savior of the World.Lord, I choose, this day, to become one with You in Your suffering and death. Jesus, I trust in You.Source of content: catholic-daily-reflections.comCopyright © 2020 My Catholic Life! Inc. All rights reserved. Used with permission via RSS feed.
I believe the saints of the Gospel of Christ see the signs of our time, but perhaps we fail to sense the urgency of our day. When you study Jesus Life, as we will note in the Message today; He warned them, blessed them, taught them, and revealed Truth to them. The emblems of His Sacrifice opened their eyes and they knew Him. He vanished and they said: “Did not our heart burn within us!”
Archives Listen to the Prayer Audio: Heavenly Father, We seek the guidance of Your Holy Spirit throughout this day so we walk in Your Commands! Father, there are so many voices and so much criticism and judgments being spoken against Your servants by even those who say they are followers of Your son, Jesus/Yeshuah the Christ Your anointed and holy Son our Savior and Lord. Father in this moment of prayer protect us from all these voice and all those who spread rumors and lies about what we do for you! Lord forgive us for believing any false statements about our brothers and sisters who are doing their best to follow Your Commands. Lord silence the voice of those who cause division and hate among us! We are here to hear Your heart in these days and to make Your Will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Protect the Strike Force of Prayer from any division or ill will in its midst. Protect us from all the assaults of the enemy, especially those adversaries who hate instead of love, choose death over life and division over unity in the Holy Spirit! Forgive us for believing any of the lies or false accusations that we hear so that we are able to discern truth from fakery and deception! Put Your Holy Angels around us so that we can move forward to the victory You have planned for us as we are now walking in New Golden Age of Reformation in the new Creation Your Son has opened up for us in His Sacrifice of Loving Kindness and Compassion! Jesus is Lord and You, Father are the only true God, Whom we worship and adore in spirit and truth! Father, in our day the enemy has so many plots to stop what You have given us and promised will come to be when we pray to do Your Will! Now Lord the fear tactics are all around us! Using viruses, chemical warfare, and other means of life altering effects. We will not walk in fear Lord, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but a sound mind the Mind of Christ and the Holy Spirit who reveals all truth to us! Greater is He that is in us than he who is in the world! Lord, continue to bless President Trump and all those who stand in righteousness to bring about Justice and protection from all of our enemies both foreign and those who are here among us. Continue to reveal all the plots of the enemy and bring them to naught. In fact let it fall in their own camp so that they may fall on their own sword with confusion and chaos in their midst so that the enemy will suffer consequences worthy of the crime they commit against us! Yes, Lord if they truly repent and make recompense give them Mercy as You have to us, but Lord just as You gave us the choice may they clearly make the right choice or fall into the darkness they choose! Lord continue to separate those who have chosen the ways of the hardhearted Pharaohs of this world from those who stand to be in Your Army washed by the Blood of Yesuah/Jesus. Lord You know our hearts we are even accused when we pronounce Your Son’s Name differently O Lord save us from such picky nonsense! We are here to worship You in spirit and truth! Father, we are to walk in humility with a contrite heart willing to take correction when it is needed and to listen to sound advice and counsel from Your anointed ones whether they be apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors or teachers. We know that You are continuing to expose the wolves in sheep clothing who are nothing more than hirelings, not true shepherds. Lord continue to anoint new and wholesome shepherds willing to pay the price and show us a heart like Your heart filled with Loving Kindness and compassion, so that we will follow their example and leadership that draws us closer to You and helps us to do Your Will. Your will not our will be done as in heaven here to on earth! Father, we are here to show compassion to all those who mourn and weep over loss of loved ones through circumstances that happen because of human error or lack of awarenes...

Today's Question: What does John 3:16 REALLY MEAN? Are we wrong about the most famous verse in the Bible?. John 3:16 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.- for most of my life it has been the most famous verse in the Bible. It's only rival today is ‘Judge not that ye not be judged'. More on that soon. Spurgeon: OF all the stars in the sky the pole-star is the most useful to the mariner. This text is a pole-star, for it has guided more souls to salvation than any other Scripture. It is among promises what the Great Bear is among constellations. C. H. Spurgeon, The Cheque Book of the Bank of Faith John 3:16 Guy: Rollen Fredrick Stewart (born February 23, 1944), also known as Rock'n Rollen and Rainbow Man, is a man who was a fixture in American sports culture best known for wearing a rainbow-colored afro-style wig and, later, holding up signs reading "John 3:16" at stadium sporting events around the United States and overseas in the 1970s and 1980s.[1] He is serving three life sentences in a California prison after being convicted of multiple kidnapping charges after a 1992 incident. Stewart was arrested in 1992 after a standoff in a California hotel during which he entered a vacant room with two men whom he tried to recruit for a job, who later fled the scene after he attempted to kidnap a surprised maid who then locked herself in the bathroom. Reportedly, Stewart believed that the Rapture was due to arrive in six days.[8] During the standoff, he threatened to shoot at airplanes taking off from nearby Los Angeles International Airport, and covered the hotel room windows with "John 3:16" placards. Stewart was married four times, most notably to Margaret Hockridge. The two met at a church in Virginia in 1984. They began traveling across the country together in 1985. While on the road, they married in St. Louis in 1986. During the 1986 World Series, Hockridge said that Stewart tried to choke her for standing in the wrong spot with a John 3:16 sign. Mental Illness. So - what does John 3:16 mean?? Most people would say that it has to do with the AMOUNT of Love God has for us. That He loves us SOOOOOOO much, that He sent His son. Now - that is a TRUE Statement. The Love of God was indeed SOOO deep for people, that He sent His son, but, shocker of shockers...That is NOT what John 3:16 is talking about. Now, I realize I sound like one of those Fedora wearing, neck-bearded internet guys that go around correcting everybody - WELL, ACSHUALLY… But, two things: One, I don't own a fedora and 2- I actually do shave my neck. Let's go to the expert: Bill MOUNCE, AKA Captain Biblical Greek, : The problem, if you are unaware, is that when the KJV says “For God so loved the world,” everyone I have ever asked what “so” meant responded “so much.” If you check BDAG, you will see that this is a rare and not possible meaning of οὕτως in this context. But you'd better be careful if you change people's favorite Bible verse. Here are BDAG's first three definitions of HOUTOS οὕτως. 1. “referring to what precedes, in this manner, thus, so.” 2. “pert. to what follows in discourse material, in this way, as follows” (which is where BDAG places John 3:16) BDAG - Bauer's Lexicon. Bauer's Lexicon is among the most highly respected dictionaries of Biblical Greek. Bauer–Arndt–Gingrich–Danker HOUTOS οὕτως in John 3:16 clearly has the meaning conveyed by the NLT (“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son”), the CSB (“For God loved the world in this way: He gave his one and only Son”), and the NET (“For this is the way God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son,”). I am playing with this as an option: “For God loved the world so he gave.” What do you think? Holman/CSB: 16 For God loved the world in this way: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. Did the King James Version Get it wrong? I don't think so - the fact is that the particle ‘So' in the English language is very flexible, and it is proper English, when explaining how somebody expressed their love, to say, “They so loved so and so, that they did this.” However, that language is imprecise, and open to misinterpretation in a way that the Greek original text of John 3:16 is not. That text, quite clearly, is speaking of the MANNER in which God loves His people, not the MAGNITUDE of how MUCH He loves His people. This is a Scripture about the specific WAY God loves us - not the MEASURE of His love. We don't lose anything here, though, because we have dozens, if not hundreds, of Scriptures on the vastness of God's Love: 1 John 3:1 See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Ephesians 2:4-5 4 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. Romans 8:37-39 37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Ephesians 3:17-19 I pray that you, being rooted and firmly established in love, 18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the length and width, height and depth of God's love, 19 and to know the Messiah's love that surpasses knowledge, so you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Psalm 103:8 The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. So - Spurgeon explains it this way: See clearly that you have to trust your soul with Christ by faith. Perceive that it is vast love which sets before you such a way of salvation in which the only thing required of you is that you be nothing, and trust Christ to be everything, and even that faith He gives you as a gift of his Spirit, so that the plan of salvation is all of love. If you want to repent, do not so much consider your sin as the love of Jesus in suffering for your sin. If you desire to believe, do not so much study the doctrine as study the person of Jesus Christ on the cross. If you desire to love, think over perpetually, until it breaks your heart, the great love of Jesus Christ in laying down His life for His worthless foes. The love of God is the birthplace of holy love. It is not there in your hearts where you are attempting an absurdly impossible feat, namely, to create love in the carnal mind that cannot be reconciled to God, but love must be born in the heart of Jesus and then it shall come down to you. Charles Spurgeon, Spurgeon Commentary: 1 John, ed. Elliot Ritzema, Spurgeon Commentary Series (Bellingham, WA: Lexham Press, 2014). John 3:16 then, is a Gospel verse...much like: Romans 5:8 8 But God proves His own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us!It is not a verse focused on the amount of God's love for us, but how He has expressed that love...and how He has expressed that love is the Gospel - the good news of the Bible, which is this: God showed His love for people by sending His son to live the perfect life we couldn't live, to die the death we deserved for our sins, so that all who LOOK to Him in wholehearted faith, believing in His death and resurrection, will be saved. Not saved by our righteous acts, but saved by HIS SACRIFICE.
Last week we began focusing on the final phase of the Messiah's earthly ministry - His Sacrifice. Last week we considered His Preparation. Today, we will be focusing upon the Commemoration that He established. Lord willing, over the next four weeks we will examine His Rejection, His Trial, His Crucifixion and His Resurrection. This message was presented on July 21, 2019 by Bob Corbin.
LamentationJan de BeerImage in the Public Domain The Violent Cost of Sin (with Communion) The Christian world has gotten so tidy; wouldn't you say? It's so clean. It's so refined. No harsh words. Not in the least bit upsetting. "All are welcome." "Join us for a joyful experience." "Come be comforted." Those are just some of the more typical messages we see on the signs outside of our churches nowadays; right? We want people to get the impression that they can come in and get something that will make them feel good. We don't want to offend. We don't want to "ruffle any feathers". You know what you won't see on the church billboard? "Come get washed in blood." "Enter here and leave your dead body at the door." "Join us for today's sermon: 'You're a Lowdown, Hell-bound Sinner'". Guaranteed you won't see THAT ONE. In fact, sin is hardly mentioned in most church services except perhaps in some mindless prayer chant written hundreds of years ago...LONG before we got so sophisticated. Fact is, we don't talk about sin in church, anymore. Sin is not on the agenda. It's too depressing and, well, no one wants to go to church to feel bad about themselves. Instead we talk about love and fellowship and glory (ours not His). Most church websites are overflowing with images of happy, smiley people hugging, high-fiving and pleasantly sharing a cup of coffee. Most of the "About Us" sections excitedly tell you about their "contemporary" music service, wide-open arms and modern, comfortable atmosphere. There are lots of screen filling photos of what look like rock concerts with the lights and the fog machines and the mood setting backdrops but are, instead, captioned, "Scenes from last Sunday's Worship Service". In all of the published literature you'll struggle to find any mention of Jesus, hardly a picture of any sort of pulpit and nowhere will the word "sin" be found. Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:Revelation 3:17 "John, what's wrong with love and fellowship and smiling, hugging and high-fivingly sharing coffee?" Nothing, but if you're gonna invite people to your church, if you're gonna invite people to Christ the honest invitation will say they must come broken. Jesus said He came to seek and save the LOST! I never met a smiling lost person. Jesus said the poor in spirit are blessed. They that mourn will be comforted. Most modern congregations would probably walk out on Jesus if He dared preach the Sermon on the Mount in their church. Too depressing. Too demanding. Too much sacrifice. Yes, Jesus jumped for joy (Luke 10:21) but He also wept. (John 11:35), He groaned. (John 11:33). He experienced agony (Luke 22:44) and hunger (Matthew 21:18) and thirst (John 19:28). No, I don't think we need to focus on the negative all the time. I don't believe in staying in the shadow of the crucifixion. Joy DID come in the morning, the morning of the Resurrection. It is there that we should live BUT Jesus did purposely ask us to remember His Sacrifice. In that Upper Room, in one of the most touching moments in all the Bible, Jesus looked into the eyes of His friends with the symbols of His Body and Blood in view as tokens of the brutal price He would shortly thereafter pay and simply said, "Do this in remembrance of Me." He didn't say slap each other on the back and split a doughnut with your neighbor or tell amusing golf-related anecdotes or jump up and down to earsplitting guitar riffs at praise and worship. Some of those things have their place but that place is NOT up front. His life and violent death should be honored as the most important event that has ever happened TO YOU. I know this is not a popular view. That's actually the entire point I'm trying to make, not only here in this intro but throughout the lesson to which it is appended. This is not a message people want to hear and, yet,
Prophecy update! How to respond to the warning of the Lord through faithful obedience to His Sacrifice by the grace He had given us through His blood that cleansed us from all sin
"Never Forget" is a slogan that we often put on a event that caused us to pause and reflect on great loss, but also caused us to come together and grow stronger. Far too often we find that as time passes so does the feelings that brought us together and the divide grows back between the very people that once promised that they would stand together. As we worship on Memorial Day weekend we need to be reminded of the main reason why worship is still free. In John 14:25:27 we see; I. We are Reminded of His Service. (Vs. 25). II. We are Reminded of His Sacrifice. (Vs. 26). III. We are Reminded of His Sufficiency. (Vs. 27).
Archives Listen to the Prayer Audio:Heavenly Father, We come with humble, contrite hearts before Your Heavenly Court Room seeking to intercede on behalf of America, Israel and all nations that are in the struggle to be a part of Your Kingdom here on earth! First of all Father surround us with Your Heavenly Host to protect us from any assault of the enemy toward us personally, our families, our blessings from You and all that we care for and watch over. Keep us off the enemy's radar and out of the scope of his frequencies and other means of interfering with our communication systems. Let the chaos, rebellion, anxiety and turmoil remain in his own camp and keep it far away from us Your Army encamped here in this time of prayer and intercession! Let everyone on this call be united in spirit and truth! To proclaim You Lord and Savior and that way nothing from our past -- be it from our bloodlines or generational influences -- have any legal openings for satan to attack or accuse us! We are set free in declaring You are Lord and therefore we are totally Yours!Lord, as Your Scriptures have taught us in Leviticus that life is in the blood. We apply to ourselves the Blood of Yeshuah that washes us clean of all sin, rebellion and iniquity! We cover ourselves, our families and all that we hold dear and cherish as Gifts from You! We divorce ourselves from any legal claims of the evil one on ourselves. We are here free because of the price that Yeshuah has paid for us by His Sacrifice and the Blood He shed for us that now covers the Mercy Seat! We are eternally grateful. You see us as Your own and we have no one but You to claim as our Lord!In these moments Lord, we remember that in the past the children of Israel applied the blood of the lamb on the door posts to be passed over by the angel of death. Now we in the spirit place the Blood of Yeshuah on the door posts of America from border to border and sea to sea! We lay claim to return to the covenant our forefathers and mothers made with You to dedicate America to You and Your purposes for this land. Let no portal, opening, or altar for the evil one have any legal right on our land. Whatever is on the land or under the land by tunnels, caves and other hidden places be exposed and destroyed and brought to full submission to the Cross of Christ and may Your Holy Angels deal with these spirits and drive them from our land of America now! Lord, let us continue to see more and more of the Hammer of Justice fall on all those who have had anything to do with this abomination in our land. May they meet the true punishment they deserve. Save us Lord from it all and restore this nation as You are doing now in our day! For this we are indeed grateful and stand with Your Will.Lord, we apply the Blood to our leaders, especially President Trump and all those who are with him to establish and remake America in the Plan You have for us! May the Blood cover all righteous men and women who serve in our Justice system and our Court system. Truly apply Your Justice and Mercy in the cases brought before them. May they have the discernment to see what is worth ruling on and that which is just fake and foolish. That we may see the gift of Wisdom You gave Solomon to rule Israel be upon our government officials and those who are called to serve and protect the people of America. That they rule us by our Constitution & original documents of law that are truly based on Your Sacred Scriptures and set the proper standards that we live by. Thank You, Lord for overseeing this in America in our day!Lord, we also apply the Blood of Yeshuah on the nation of Israel. We know this land is sacred to You and there is to be no division of the land. That the people of Israel will come to know Yeshuah is the Messiah and Lord that they have been longing for since He first walked the land and shed His innocent Blood there!

JWSInboxxJohn Spring 1:32 PM (2 hours ago)toDear Friends,Based upon past experiences, it would not be enough for me to just provide information about an incident as serious as the Cuban Missile Crisis because as I had later discovered, those sources in Washington have proven to be inadequate due to incompetent personnel whose concern rests only with advancing in their careers rather than with the wellbeing of the American people. So as a result of this dilemma, I must meet with the President on this crucial matter because time is running out at a very rapid rate. The key Kremlin advisers who provide Russian President Putin with his diabolical plans for destroying America are rather good at what they do, perhaps nearly as good as those during the time of the former Soviet Union and the Cold War. But they merely have copied the earlier plan related to the Nicaraguan Missile Crisis when U.S. Armed Forces invaded Grenada in the Caribbean Sea during 1983. The only significant difference for the plan that was developed in Moscow is that La Orchila Island has replaced Grenada as the refueling stopover point before the Antonov An-124 giant air transports are able to reach Punta Huete in Nicaragua that is located in Central America. However, there are additional advantages for La Orchila Island over Grenada. Firstly, it is a Russian Air Force base with much tighter security on an island that is only sparsely populated. Secondly, La Orchila Island is geographically located in a far more strategic position directly in line with the Eastern Seaboard of the continental United States. Thirdly, unlike the two missile crises in 1962 and 1983, all of the infrastructure is now completed and fully operational, which enables Russia to land and launch “mach schnell” or very rapidly. So time is of essence on this very crucial matter. JWS John W. SpringP.O. Box 18946Anaheim, CA 92817 April 19, 2019 The PresidentThe White House1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, NWWashington, DC 20500 RE: RUSSIAN AIR FORCE BASE ON LA ORCHILA ISLAND: RACE AGAINST TIME Dear Mr. President: Due to my wife, who may soon be released from a skilled-nursing facility after the coming week, I would urge you to immediately make arrangements and provisions to meet directly with me as soon as possible. Already I have been approaching persons who could be trusted for spending at least some time with her after she arrives at home. However, none of them have confirmed their willingness to assist. It would be rather unlikely for me to leave without providing adequate care during my absence. So, please, expedite my special request on this crucial matter right away. Although with current satellite imagery technology, we are able to detect the presence of nuclearweaponry at any location or depth, within a very short duration of time, many Antonov An-124 Ruslan giant air transports could land with their cargoes of Mobile Missile Launchers for the Intermediate-Range Ballistic Missiles armed with Thermonuclear Warheads able to strike at America within minutes after being unloaded at La Orchila Island in the Caribbean Sea and at Punta Huete in Central America. Because these runways in Venezuela and Nicaragua are at least two miles in length, they are able to accommodate the largest bombers and military cargo transports that would only need to land briefly before deploying and launching missiles carrying thermonuclear warheads capable of striking at any region of the continental United States. Besides the aforementioned information, the primary reason for you to meet directly with me is to provide you with the best alternatives for viable solutions during this current crisis that would be unavailable from other sources. My past record speaks for itself, i.e. Cuba andGrenada. Sincerely, John W. Spring Dear Friends,There are very influential individuals and organizations that have supported the President who are promoting Russian President Putin with a globalist agenda supporting China and Russia. For this reason, we must send our own email letters to the President at this very crucial time.JWS April 17, 2019The PresidentThe White House1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, NWWashington, DC 20500 RE: DIABOLICAL ATROCITIES OF PRESIDENT VLADIMIR V. PUTIN SINCE 2000 Dear Mr. President: While I am elated about your vindication, for the security of our nation, I am very disappointed about your lack of awareness on the strategic significance related to the Russian Air Force base on La Orchila Island in the Caribbean Sea as well as the nearly two-mile-long airfield at Punta Huete in Central America and failure to respond to my request for meeting directly with you on this crucial matter, which is now far more serious than the Cuban Missile Crisis because Russia has already reached beyond the level readiness with its infrastructure now being operational. Russian President Vladimir V. Putin has been involved with so many diabolical atrocities since 2000. He was responsible for the bombing of many apartment buildings in major Russian cities. In 2001, Putin played a significant role in 9-11, related to bombings at the World Trade Center in New York and the planning for the Afghan War that has become our longest war. The crash of a Polish Air Force Tu-154 on April 10, 2010 with President Lech Kaczynski on the flight when the placing of explosives onboard had been ordered earlier by Putin. The hijacking of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 (MH370) and shooting down of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 (MH17), which may have been the same Boeing 777 during March 8, 2014 and July 17, 2014, were also ordered by Putin before the MH370 air carrier had landed at Kazakhstan in Central Asia and then later became the same aircraft for MH17, which did not originate from Amsterdam. Putin was also responsible for the deployment of Russian rocket engines manufactured in the Moscow Industrial Region to North Koreafor Kim Jong Un’s missile program in 2012. Now, he is also responsible for the Venezuelan Missile Crisis on La Orchila Island,Venezuela. Sincerely, John W. Spring Dear Friends,Please carefully read the following email letter sent to the President. JWS April 16, 2019 The PresidentThe White House1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, NWWashington, DC 20500 RE: THE THREE CLANDESTINE RUSSIAN MISSILE CRISES IN LATIN AMERICA Dear Mr. President: While it may be rather difficult for you and many other leaders in Washington to perceive the former Soviet Union or Russia as a terrorist state that is exactly what it is and has been for over 60 years, if not for even a longer period of time. Of course, some of your closest advisers as well as many friends and supporters have told a completely different story. However, based upon the definition of “terrorist,” the Kremlinin Moscow fits the description to the letter “T” very well. The three clandestine Russian Missile Crises over the past 60 years in Latin America should be an adequate reason for describing or identifying Russia as a terrorist state without question. With diabolical leaders such as Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chairman Nikita Khrushchev and Chairman Yuri Andropov, we had the Cuban Missile Crisis, the Nicaraguan Missile Crisis and now we have theVenezuelan Missile Crisis on La Orchila Island, Venezuela and also again at Punta Huete, Nicaragua where Intermediate-Range Ballistic Missiles with Thermonuclear Warheads can be unloaded from Antonov An-124 Ruslan giant air transports within minutes after landing and launched to accurately strike rapidly at strategic targets throughout America. If any of the past or present clandestine crises had been or were to become successful, no longer would there be any United States left. However, unlike the crises of the past, the Russian Air Force base on La Orchila Island in the Caribbean Sea and also the long runway infrastructure at Punta Huete in Central America are already operational, which means that Intermediate-Range Ballistic Missiles armed with Thermonuclear Warheads could now be deployed at the aforementioned locations very quickly on short notice in Latin America and arrive at any time. Sincerely, John W. Spring April 15, 2019 The PresidentThe White House1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, NWWashington, DC 20500 RE: RUSSIAN TUPOLEV TU-160 BLACKJACK BOMBERS NOW DEPLOYED AT LA ORCHILA ISLAND IN THE CARIBBEAN CAN NOW FIRE MISSILES AT AMERICA. Dear Mr. President: The Russian Tupolev Tu-160 Blackjack bombers now deployed on La Orchila Island have been modified and renovated to fire missiles in mid-air that can reach the continental United States while in-flight. In addition to the Russian Antonov An-124 Ruslan giant air transports that can now land on La Orchila Island, Venezuela in theCaribbean Sea and at Punta Huete, Nicaragua in Central America carrying Mobile Missile Launchers and Intermediate-Range Ballistic Missiles with Thermonuclear Warheads, the Russian Tupolev Tu-160 Blackjack bomber can now launch missiles in-flight that can also strike at targets in the continental United States because they are being modified and renovated while a newer model is now scheduled to go into production by as early as 2020. Although it may not be known if the Kremlin’s Hypersonic Missile has been developed for its production at this time, what already exists and now in operation is a far more serious threat than the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962 or the unpublicized Nicaraguan Missile Crisisduring 1983, when Grenada was invaded by U.S. Armed Forces, because the infrastructure had not reached an operational status, while theVenezuelan Missile Crisis had earlier exceeded that stage. Since my analytical reports have all proved to be accurate about these crises since 1961, I would hope that you make arrangements for me to meet with you at once. Sincerely, John W. SpringApril 13, 2019 The PresidentThe White House1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, NWWashington, DC 20500 RE: EXISTING MISSILE CRISIS IN CARIBBEAN SEA AND CENTRAL AMERICA Dear Mr. President: As of Saturday, April 13, 2019, the population of the United States of America is 328,586. For me, it is a burden to attempt protecting theAmerican people when now hardly any intelligence information is being analyzed accurately and correctly because a lack of knowledge will lead to the complete destruction of America as it almost did during the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962 and the Nicaraguan Missile Crisis of 1983, when U.S. Armed Forces had invaded Grenada. Although the Russian Air Force base on La Orchila Island located in the Lesser Antilles of the Caribbean Sea is an imminent threat to the continental United States, it is not due to thedeployment of the Russian Tupolev Tu-160 Blackjack bomber, but, rather, the nearly two-mile in length runways that can also accommodate the gigantic Russian Antonov An-124 Ruslan air transport that can carry Mobile Missile Launchers and Intermediate-Range Ballistic Missiles armed with Thermonuclear Warheads that can be launched shortly after landing at an airfield in Nicaragua, which is located atPunta Huete in Central America, from where they can strike any region of the continental United States with greater accuracy and without advance warning. Intermediate-Range Ballistic Missiles armed with Thermonuclear Warheads can be launched from La Orchila Island and accurately strike the Eastern Seaboard of America with even far greater accuracy. Please make arrangements to me to meet with you very soon on this matter. Sincerely, John W. Spring... Scramble his radar and cause all of his interference to fall on him and his camp. Cause the victory You have planned for us to continue to unfold. We are so grateful for all that You have done for us in this hour. Lord we are here to listen to Your Commands and offer our obedience, as Your Son was obedient even to death, death upon the cross! Father, on this day we are in the Christian tradition to follow the path that Your Son took in His last Passover feast while here on the earth! We remember the mystery of His last meal with His chosen twelve, and the expression of His Love in those sacred moments together! How He shared the bread and the wine and gave us a sacred communion to be one with You! His sacred words this is My Body and this is My Blood have made us an everlasting covenant that we are a part of even right this moment in our prayer! Such a sacred Gift all as a sign of Your Love for us. Now we are a new creation in Him. All of our value and worth is based on His Sacrifice for us. We are Yours because of Him! Everything is changed because He is the center of our life and by Faith He lives in us and all we need is given through Him! We are so grateful and thankful for this wondrous Gift! Father in the assemblies/churches today as they recall this sacred moment may You pass over our nation and make us new again. Let us see the unity that Your Son, Yeshuah, spoke to us about on that last night He was with us. We know His humble way of washing the feet of His apostles is a sign unto us of how we are to approach all those You put in our path and whom You have put in our care to love and cherish! In a special way today may we see healings break out among Your Army here. Heal all those that we bring to You who are in need of a Healing Touch from Yeshuah! For when we partake of this Communion given to us we see Life, Love & Light so differently that no one can imagine all that You have in store for us now and into eternity! Father as our Jewish brothers and sisters remember that first Passover through their celebration starting Friday night may they come to know Yeshuah as Messiah. May their dreams and longing be fulfilled in Him! May they surely search the Scriptures and come alive to who Yeshuah really is. We pray for them Father, because as Your Servant, Paul, has taught us it is because of them in their blindness that we have been brought into the fullness of Yeshuah, and when they see what we see then what Glory will descend upon the earth. Bless them to know! Father, again we lift up our President Trump who so beautifully expressed how sacred this time of remembering is. It is important to us in America and Israel and to all those in all nations that call Jesus Lord! Bless him and his family, loved ones, friends and all who stand with him in his leadership in America! Continue to bless his efforts to restore America to have Liberty and Justice for all who truly are citizens united to be Americans that serve in God's Kingdom in our land. We seek a driving out of all those who hate us or try to destroy our sacred Heritage and traditions to be one nation under You, God! Let those who are here to change our land into something it was never intended to be be revealed and fall under the Hammer of Justice as it is falling now on our enemies here and abroad! Father, we seek protection for all those righteous ones you have that are revealing the truth about the CIA, FBI, DOJ and all other parts of the government that are deceiving and lying to us. May you bless these journalists and reporters of the Truth so that they will be encouraged and see that Justice does prevail now and into our future. Lord, You have raised them up. There are too many to mention but You know whom you have anointed so through our praye...

There were several furnitures in the Tabernacle where the people of Israel Worshipped God. It is interesting to see how every furniture pointed to the Lord Jesus Christ and His Sacrifice on the Cross of Calvary. The post Tabernacle- An overview study- Bro. God Will Destroy Opposition to Christ Alone (vv. 5-6) Outlined Manuscript Have you ever experienced something that you never thought you would experience in your life? Maybe it was a sudden sorrowful thing that happened to you or someone near to you. Maybe it was something that you waited for your whole life to happen and you just were not sure if it would ever happen (I imagine there are some parents of soon to be graduates that may be feeling that way about now). Maybe it was something that you spent plenty of time dreaming about in your life. Wednesday night November 2, I finished up a night of youth group in the LOFT and immediately ran out to my Jeep. I turned on the ignition and before the engine had even finished cranking over I had the radio tuned into the Cubs versus the Indians playing in Game 7 of the World Series. As I turned on to State Road 26 to begin my journey home I listened as Dexter Fowler led off the game with a home run to deep right center field. Maybe tonight would be the night that I had played out countless times in my backyard as kid in Northern Illinois. Maybe tonight the Cubs would be the world champions. It had been 108 years since the last time the Cubs had won the World Series. For years they had been mocked as the “loveable losers”, but tonight could be a different night. Well that game did not go exactly the way that was the least amount of stress, but early on that Thursday morning the Cubs were finally the World Series Champ. As my 91 year old grandma that was sitting next to me said as the final out was recorded, “Well they finally did it.” Everything changed in the mind of the lifetime Cub fan. The blues and reds of the world were just brighter and more beautiful. They no longer were fans of the “Loveable Losers”, but now were fans of the Champs. Even in something as silly as winning a World Series there was a new realization that would make life never the same again. These realization moments can come from any changes that revolutionize our lives. We go about our lives and for the most part we get into routines But then something in our environment changes—something either that we want to change or something that we don’t want to change. And when it changes we may take a while to believe what has happened. Here is a question for you… What is the greatest reality shock of your life? Here is what I believe it is…. We by our nature grow up in a state of selfishness that causes us to seek our own good. We exalt ourselves to the roll of king over our own life. Think about it. From birth whenever I was hungry, I would just cry, and suddenly a bottle would appear. Whenever, I had a dirty diaper I would just cry a little bit more and suddenly my diaper would be changed. As a toddler, I want a toy, I grab it from my friend that was playing with it. As a teen, I want my own pleasure, so I experiment with sex and drugs As a highschooler, I learn how to get attention by using my body for athletics or beauty. As a college student, I want to live the party life and sow my wild oats…. As an adult, I learn to make money to spend on toys for me. The routine of living for self is our reality What happens when you come face to face with the reality of you are not KING!! What happens when you begin to see for the first time, this world doesn’t revolve around you! My friends that is a reality for all of us, that must be faced. With those thoughts in mind please turn in your Bibles to Psalms 110. That is on page 443 in the front section of the bible in the chair in front of you. I have also printed the text of Psalm 110 in your bulletin notes if you would rather look there. This year’s annual theme at Faith is In Christ Alone And after Easter we have turned our attention to a five part series on Seeing Christ in the Psalms Much of Jesus’ life and work is said in the New Testament to be a fulfillment of the Psalms. Let me say an explanatory word about my understanding of the messianic Psalms. Many of the Psalms/Songs in the OT were written by a man called David, King of Israel. David was God’s chosen king to rule over God’s people. David, was an example or type of a man who, although a sinner and having some great sins, strived to be faithful to God. He was faithful to God in His youth. He was marked by meekness and humility and trust in the Lord. He is known for His slaying of the giant menace of Israel, Goliath, by relying on Lord—not any kind of military strength. Because of his humility, God chose him as an earthly king over his people However, the path to kingship was one marked by suffering. His enemies opposed him and often sought his life… Pastor Green at FE and Pastor Wright at FW spoke about his sufferings last week. Please notice the pattern… Davidic Pattern #1: The path toward kingship was marked by suffering. The humble servant had to suffer first before he was exalted as king. When David actually became King, God gradually brought all the fighting factions and opposing nations into submission to David’s reign. Davidic Pattern #2: When established as king, God brought remaining factions and enemies into subjection to God’s chosen king (cf 2 Sam 5:9–12). Notice this passage 2 Sam 5:10David became greater and greater, for the Lord God of hosts was with him.11Then Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David with cedar trees and carpenters and stonemasons; and they built a house for David.12And David realized that the Lord had established him as king over Israel, and that He had exalted his kingdom for the sake of His people Israel. David as a musician recorded songs about these experiences in the Psalms And Then Jesus says in Luke 24:44 Luke 24:44 44Now He said to them, “These are My words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things which are written about Me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.” 45 Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures,46 and He said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Christ would suffer and rise again from the dead the third day,47 and that repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem…50 And He led them out as far as Bethany, and He lifted up His hands and blessed them. 51While He was blessing them, He parted from them and was carried up into heaven. There are two observations about this passage that I want to make. First, Notice how Jesus said all that is written in the Psalms must be fulfilled—Hence we have these “messianic psalms Second, Notice this pattern Jesus Christ, Pattern#3: God’s Chosen King suffered and then was delivered from the grave and then was “carried up into heaven.” In the comparison to David what does this pattern correspond to? ANSWER: David’s exaltation as King and God working to bring all face to face with the reality of Christ’s kingship. God working to subject all people to his kingship. With that back ground let’s read now Psalm 110 Psalm 110 (Notes only) 1 The Lord says to my Lord: “Sit at My right hand Until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet.” 2 The Lord will stretch forth Your strong scepter from Zion, saying, “Rule in the midst of Your enemies.” 3 Your people will volunteer freely in the day of Your power; In holy array, from the womb of the dawn, Your youth are to You as the dew. 4 The Lord has sworn and will not change His mind, “You are a priest forever According to the order of Melchizedek.” 5 The Lord is at Your right hand; He will shatter kings in the day of His wrath. 6 He will judge among the nations, He will fill them with corpses, He will shatter the chief men over a broad country. 7 He will drink from the brook by the wayside; Therefore He will lift up His head. Today from Psalm 110 we are discussing Facing the Reality of God’s Choice of Christ Alone Five realities about Jesus Christ that we must all come face to face with sooner or later. The first reality is this… God Has Made Christ Alone King of Creation—“Sit at My Right Hand.” Friends the NT recognizes Psalms 110 as one of the most significant chapters in the OT. Every human author of the NT quotes some portion of Psalm 110 except James and Jude. I have listed several of these references for you…. “At God’s right hand”—Matt 22:44, Mark 16:19, Acts 2:33, 7:55-56, Rom 8:34, Eph 1:20, Col 3:1, Heb 1:3, 8:1, 12:2–3, 1 Pet 3:22, Rev 3:21 Here is just one example: Eph 1:20 20 which He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places,21far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come.22And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the church, 23 which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all. We focus a lot on the resurrection of Jesus Chris and rightly so. The resurrection represents so much Victory over Death The first fruits of the promise of eternal life—a resurrected body God’s stamp of approval on His Son for His life and His Sacrifice However, the entire NT is not only structured around the resurrection but the truth from this PSALM—sit at my right hand--the ascension of Christ into heaven! That is amazing. Until I studied this Psalm and the numerous quotes of this Psalm in the NT I had no idea of how much this concept of Christ being translated from earth to heaven informed the theology of the NT. Read the cross references I gave you and see how significant this is!!!. But what is so significant about “the Right Hand of God” What does this mean? The right hand of God means “The Right Hand of God” is the place of eternal rulership Earthly Kings invited a cherished and faithful servant to be their right hand man to execute their rule. As an example, those of you who know the Bible remember the Joseph story and how Joseph after suffering was exalted to the right hand of Pharaoh. Joseph in all practical senses was ruler over Egypt— equal to Pharaoh! David after suffering was exalted to the earthly kingdom of Israel and could be said to be “God’s right hand man on earth.” But David did not ascend bodily to heaven In Christ you have something entirely greater The Man Jesus ascended bodily to heaven not just a throne on earth…God’s heavenly throne. What does this mean…God has place Jesus Christ at the place of authority over all including you. The ascension of Christ is as significant to the Lordship of Christ as is His death and resurrection is to His Role as Savior. He is both Lord/King and Savior! My friends that is the reality…Christ simply is King. You simply are not the king. This is the reality. This is the reality that you must face either now or when God His Father, makes you a footstool for King Jesus’ feet. But Here is a question for you… But how could any man share God’s ruling throne? Jesus Christ was not simply “any man”—“The Lord said to my Lord” (cf. Matt 22:41–45) I think God has a sense of humor. He planted riddles and mysteries in the OT that would perplex people only to be revealed at the right time. I have had the privilege of attending Faith Bible Seminary and Pastor Aucoin was always so excited to point out these mysteries and riddles. As I was discussing this passage with him in preparation for this sermon, I was reminded of that excitement he has for these Old Testament mysteries, as we talked about this phrase. David wrote the beginning line of the Psalm, “The Lord said to my Lord…dwell at my right hand.” What does, “The Lord said to my Lord” mean? Is David calling himself “my lord”—that would be a strange way for David to speak about Himself. So for years the Jewish folks interpret this phrase as applying to a descendent of David….rightfully so….the coming Messiah…. But the Jewish folks completely missed something…If this applies to David’s descendent…David call’s his descendent “MY LORD” MY MASTER///MY KING… How could the Messiah both be David’s Son and David’s master? How? Jesus stumped the Pharisees with this question… Matthew 22:41 Now while the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them a question:42 “What do you think about the Christ, whose son is He?” They said to Him, “The son of David.”43 He said to them, “Then how does David in the Spirit call Him ‘Lord,’ saying,44 ‘The Lord said to my Lord,“Sit at My right hand, Until I put Your enemies beneath Your feet” ’? 45“If David then calls Him ‘Lord,’ how is He his son?”46 No one was able to answer Him a word, nor did anyone dare from that day on to ask Him another question. How is a man sitting at the right Hand of God? Because Jesus Christ is not simply a man…He is God incarnate. In order to ascend to be at the right hand of God he had to first descend to become human. This man is King. This Man is God Himself. Christ is King. Christ is God Himself. Is he your King? The second reality we must face is that God Has Promised Christ Alone A Kingdom Ps. 110:2The Lord will stretch forth Your strong scepter from Zion, saying,“Rule in the midst of Your enemies.” Folks is this the reality we live in… God does not say he will stretch forth Johnny’s kingdom saying “rule”? God does not say he will stretch forth (Pastor Garner, Folden, Green)’s kingdom saying “rule”? God will stretch forth Christ strong scepter ALONE saying rule. My friends do you remember a time in your life where you began to recognize this life is simply not about building your kingdom. What are you doing with your life? As I said the most routine aspect of our life is building our kingdoms Our kingdoms of people who adore us Our kingdoms of accomplishments Our kingdoms of wealth Our kingdoms of influence Psalm 110 brings us face to face that God has promised Christ Alone a Kingdom. Let that reality sink in a bit as you evaluate your life’s efforts…what are you working for….? Think about the summer that is coming up. What are you going to do this summer? Is it going to be all about you and your kingdom? Is it about the number of hours you get to spend the pool? Is it about the number of lemonades you can consume on your back porch? Is it about the number of dandelions you eliminate from your yard? Is it about how many levels you can advance in the newest video game or the number of Netflix binges you can consume? Why not make this summer about advancing the King that has already been exalted? Spread the great news of Christ, the exalted King, by helping to share the Gospel to kids from our community by serving in VBS. Spread the great news of Christ, the exalted King, by showing up to the Community Picnic and intentionally engaging with people from our community. Spread the great news of Christ, the exalted King, by getting involved in any of the number of serving opportunities in our community this summer. God Has Promised Christ Alone a People/Army for His Kingdom Ps. 110:3Your people will volunteer freely in the day of Your power; In holy array, from the womb of the dawn, Your youth are to You as the dew. The King has a Kingdom And, And What else does the King have? an Army In the Hebrew there are simply two Hebrew words “Your people” is one Hebrew word, and then the second word is the Hebrew word for “freewill offering” Your people, a free will offering The people of this Kingdom are Willing Volunteers Why would you sign up to be a subject in anyone’s Kingdom? In the OT God warned Israel about wanting a king like the other nations in that they would force the people to become slaves. The king would force the people to serve in the army. But this is remarkable…there is something about this king and his kingdom that people say….”Sign me up…” Why would that be? Because there is something good about this King and His Kingdom. Service for this King is not like slavery to my previous masters Service for this king is freeing… Friends have you come face to face with the reality of the tyranny of the kingdom of self and sin…and how there is a much better king and kingdom that you can join? The slavery to sin and self is never fully satisfying. – You will always be searching for just a bit more happiness. You will always find yourself to be a horrible king in your life. You will always find your kingdom to be lacking. The mark of the armies of Christ is that they are willfully following Him. You will find no other Master you will love to serve. The King’s people are also…. Dressed in Righteousness (Holy Majesty/womb of dawn. Cf Rev 19:11–16) Your people are in “holy array” and “from the womb of dawn” Now, remember one thing about Hebrew poetry… Hebrew poetry uses a lot of metaphors and you have got to attempt to picture what the author is trying to communicate. Womb of dawn? What does that mean? Obviously, a womb is something that gives birth (we really do not have time to expand on that concept any more than that) In this case it is the womb of Dawn So what comes out of the “birthing canal” of dawn? Light! “Holy Array” also communicates that the King’s People are Brilliant in appearance. And the term “Your Youth like dew”—may also communicate the concept of purity Folks I believe also that Revelation 19 about the coming of the King and His People refers to this passage as well with very similar imagery. Notice God’s people are clothed in Brilliance…They are not cowering in the shame of nakedness. Notice the similarity here in Rev 19. Rev 19:11And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and He who sat on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war. 12 His eyes are a flame of fire, and on His head are many diadems; and He has a name written on Him which no one knows except Himself. 13 He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies which are in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, were following Him on white horses. 15 From His mouth comes a sharp sword, so that with it He may strike down the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron; and He treads the wine press of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty.16And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.” The King’s People are viewed as pure!!! In the revelation passage the people of the king are in white brilliant clothing But what is the King clothed in? Robe dipped in blood! In God’s eyes the King’s people are viewed as pure…..But the King is soaked in blood…What’s going on here? Furthermore, the King is at the right hand of God and the people are with the king So, 1. How could any person with all of our impurities be there with the King and 2. viewed as pure? How is that possible? Because of this fourth reality… God Has Made Christ Alone the Only Way to Be Part of His Kingdom—Christ Is Not Only a King But a Priest! (cf. Gen 14, Hebrews 5-9) Psalm 110:4The Lord has sworn and will not change His mind, “You are a priest forever According to the order of Melchizedek.” Well now, isn’t this an obscure statement Order of Melchizedek? What is this? J It sounds like something you would order at a fast food restaurant….”I will take the Melchizedek meal with a large Coke Zero.” Melchizedek was the King of Jerusalem 1000 years before David became King of Jerusalem. You can briefly read about Melchizedek in Genesis 14. The significance of Melchizedek was that he is described in Gen 14 as both a priest and a king. Now, God had not allowed any of his earthly rulers to be both priests and kings. Do you know why? What does power do? Corrupt. And what does absolute power do—corrupt absolutely. Can you imagine a monarch with absolute power that controlled all aspects of the nation including down to what all the subjects had to believe and access to God. So, God made the first separation of powers long before the American government. In Israel, God separated the King’s power of rulership from the priests’ role of providing access to God. Those kings in Israel who crossed the line into priestly duties—men like Saul and Uzziah—were severely judged by God. But here when God says of Jesus YOU ARE THE ORDER OF MELCHIZEDEK….that means that the Messiah would be the only King who is both King and Priest. And Praise the Lord for you because that means this King and only this King gets you access to God Not because he sacrificed some animals for you but he sacrificed His body for you He is wearing the blood soak robes so that you can stand with him with God in white garments. Hebrews 7:21 but He (God) with an oath through the One who said to Him,“The Lord has sworn And will not change His mind, ‘You are a priest forever’ ”);22 so much the more also Jesus has become the guarantee of a better covenant.23 The former priests, on the one hand, existed in greater numbers because they were prevented by death from continuing, 24 but Jesus, on the other hand, because He continues forever, holds His priesthood permanently.25Therefore He is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.26 For it was fitting for us to have such a high priest, holy, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners and exalted above the heavens; 27 who does not need daily, like those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for His own sins and then for the sins of the people, because this He did once for all when He offered up Himself. Jesus Christ is sitting right now at the right hand of the Father as 1. king but not just king….as a 2. priest. And notice that there is a time frame on this….in verse 1—until the God makes the enemies of the King/priest His footstool. Since Christ ascended until this very moment, you have the opportunity to come face to face with the reality of this King as your Savior because of his priestly work. And And you have the opportunity to learn now how to grow into the pure white clothing All of this is until—God brings everything in subjection to him and face to face with what happens if we do not subject our self to this king… God Will Destroy Opposition to Christ Alone (vv. 5–6) 5 The Lord is at Your right hand; He will shatter kings in the day of His wrath. 6 He will judge among the nations, He will fill them with corpses, He will shatter the chief men over a broad country. The king will return to earth as He ascended from it and God the father will be at his right hand executing the wrath of God. And judge those who did not come face to face with the King, His Kingdom, and His priesthood for them. Here is the reality today…. You will either be part of the army of the king dressed in brilliant clothing (the righteousness of Christ). Or you will be facing the wrath of the Father My friends, this is inescapable. This is the reality But right now the King is sitting until that time when he gets on the war horse. You today, may say I don’t want anything to do with that kind of a violent king. Let me end today with the last phrase of the Psalm… 7 He will drink from the brook (river/torrent/flood) by (on) the wayside; Therefore He will lift up His head. The phrase “He will drink from the brook by the wayside… Has perplexed the commentators. There is not agreement about what that phrase means. However, some believe it is a reference to the cup that Christ drank at the cross. Do you remember the night before Christ was to experience the violent judgement that we deserved Christ compared it to a drink. He said, “Lord, if it be your will let me not drink this cup (of wrath) but not my will but yours be done.” Thus, the phrase might be better translated and could be translated, He will drink from the torrent on the way. My friend, if you never face reality of Christ being King, with a Kingdom and a People and one day you come face to face with the reality of violent judgment of the Warrior King it will only be because you did not accept the reality today that the priestly king took the violent judgment upon Himself that you deserved. So whose Kingdom will you pursue? Your own empty kingdom? Or the Kingdom of Christ alone? Let’s Pray.
His Sacrifice and Our Blessings - Isaiah 53:5
October 17, 2016 - This week, our time machine travels back to 1965, where we'll meet Jonathan Daniels -- a white seminary student who answered Rev. Martin Luther King Jr’s call to help with voter registration in Loundes County, Alabama. After the voting rights marches, Daniels remained to assist civil rights workers -- and gave his life saving black teenager Ruby Sales from a shotgun blast. Today, you can find Dr. Sales at The Spirit House, still working for the cause of civil rights. Rich Wallace and Sandra Neil Wallace -- like Jonathan Daniels -- live in New Hampshire, where they discovered this local hero's sacrifice through his letters, papers, taped interviews, and stunning photographs -- many, never before shared with the public. The result is the book, Blood Brother: Jonathan Daniels and His Sacrifice for Civil Rights. You've seen Sandra Neil Wallace's work as a news anchor and ESPN sportscaster. Rich Wallace has written over three dozen novels for children and teens, and co-wrote titles such as Babe Conquers the World with Sandra. The Young Adult Library Services Association named his novel Wrestling Sturbridge, one of the 100 Best of the Best for the Twenty-First Century. You can find our guests at SandraNeilWallace.com and RichWallaceBooks.com, and on Twitter at SandraNWallace and RWallaceBooks.
Rich Wallace (@RWallaceBooks) and Sandra Neil Wallace (@SandraNWallace), authors of Blood Brother: Jonathan Daniels and His Sacrifice for Civil Rights, stop by the podcast to talk about breaking through to the humanity in all of us, the hope that there will always be people who help, and how one person can change history.

Gripped. Gripped by the Gospel; What is the Gospel? It is the good news that we have forgiveness of sins through Jesus Christ that died for our sins and that He was buried and was raised on the third day according to the scriptures. It is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes. What grips our hearts, guides our steps. When we grasp the gospel we begin to grasp the power of His sacrifice. Gripped by His Sacrifice; Do I still consider the cost of Christ. Time does not deplete the power of His sacrifice. Gripped by His Love; God's love produces wholeness and power. God's love produces peace and boldness. When we are gripped in His love, we experience His forgiveness. Gripped by His Forgiveness; Pardon, relief of blame, release and set free. Gripped by His Grace; We are no longer enemies of God. We are now His children. We are partakers of His blessings. We are in right relationship, redeemed. We are secure in Christ. 1Cor 1:18, Rom 1:17, Isa 53:5, Matt 20:28, Heb 10:10, John 1:16, 15:13, Eph 3:19, Philp 4:7, Psa 103:8-12.
If we truly understood God as father and that He sent His son to to Earth, we would be in awe of His Sacrifice. As you listen to this talk, I would suggest doing what the students did here in the room. You'll understand when you hear it. We edited out the breaks, so you may need to pause as to complete the task.
