Today on the Grief & Healing Corner, Episode 23, we speak with Michael Gershe. Michael is a survivor of a drunk driving crash that killed his mother and nearly himself when he was 8 weeks old. Despite breaking nearly every bone in his body and a fractured skull, he went on to become a collegiate swimmer, comedian, author and professional speaker. Touring the country for over 20 years with “The Magic of Life” impaired driving program for schools, colleges, military bases and courts; the program combines humor and his story for a powerful, emotional and inspirational message. In April 2015, Michael founded The Magic of Life Foundation, a non-profit organization that will help his mission in preventing impaired driving.

Today on the Grief & Healing Corner, Episode 22, we speak with Tonya McKenzie. Tonya is an entrepreneur, active civil servant, and principal consultant of a boutique public relations firm in Los Angeles. Tonya was witness to a murder when she was four years old, spent time in witness protection and has spent a lifetime moving beyond the incredible psychological impact of gun violence, substance abuse, sexual assault and such other incidents. Other than her mother’s death in 1999, Tonya has lost a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and most impactfully, the loss of her grandfather in 2014 and her grandmother last year in 2017.

Today on the Grief & Healing Corner, Episode 21, we speak with Ellen Landsburg Monsees. Ellen is an author, speaker, and coach. She is also an Advanced Grief Recovery Method Specialist and the Founder and Master Guide of The PPF Method, a technique for learning to live with intentional joy. Her book, “Lost and Found: Finding a Joyful Life After Loss,” was released in 2019.

Today on the Grief & Healing Corner, Episode 20, we speak with with Elizabeth Coplan, founder of Grief Dialogues. This is a project that instructs, enhances, and encourages deeper, more fulfilling conversations about dying, death, and grief in the spirit of celebration, humor, and openness. Grief Dialogues: The Play opened the Seattle Death Salon in September 2017. In July 2018 the entire cast and crew will perform in New York City. Elizabeth is President of People’s Memorial Association Board and Co-Producer of the 2017 Seattle Death Salon. She is a Grief & Loss lecturer at University of Memphis, Psychology Department, and at University of Washington, School of Social Work. She is also a frequent speaker at conferences including the ADEC annual conference.

Today on the Grief & Healing Corner, Episode 19, we speak with Lisa Ingrassia, from A Daughter’s Love and The Albert J. Ingrassia fund. Lisa is a Huffpost blogger, a Beliefnet monthly contributor and has written guest articles for the National Foundation of Swallowing Disorders, The Mighty and Her View From Home. Most recently Lisa has been nominated as a MVP Champion for CancerAid, the go-to resource for anyone affected by cancer and the #1 Cancer app currently on the Apple Store in the US, AU and the UK. Lisa enjoys spending time with her family and is obsessed with her Boston Terrier Diesel.

Today on the Grief & Healing Corner, Episode 18, we speak with John Polo from Better Not Bitter Widower. John is an author, speaker, as well as hope and empowerment coach. His wife died at 30 years old with a one in seven billion cancer. As he picked up the pieces of his broken heart and devastated soul, something amazing happened. He discovered a deep passion for writing and speaking about love, loss, grief, healing, empowerment and hope. His goal is to help others both honor their pain and see that a hopeful tomorrow can indeed exist.

Today on the Grief & Healing Corner, Episode 17, we speak with Sandy Evans Pullin. Sandy is the owner of Reiki Balance N Bliss, located in Knoxville, TN. She is a Usui/Holy Fire Reiki Master, Holy Fire Karuna Reiki Master and Lightarian Reiki Master. She talks about how Reiki helped her after the death of her fiancé.

Today on the Grief & Healing Corner, Episode 16, we speak with Sharon Brubaker Advanced Certified Grief Recovery Specialist. Sharon is an Author, Speaker, Advanced Certified Grief Recovery Specialist®, Certified Life Coach and Radio Show Host. After the tragic death in 2006 of her 10-year-old nephew, Austin, Sharon’s heart was broken. In the midst of her grief, she was lucky enough to stumble upon The Grief Recovery Method®. For over 12 years Sharon has studied and implemented The Grief Recovery Method® principles and has a private office in Santa Clarita, CA where she facilitates one-on one clients, as well as, small groups.

Today on the Grief & Healing Corner, Episode 15, we speak with Linda Findlay, founder of Journey’s of Hope Healing & Health and Bereavement Cruise Seminars at Sea. Linda is a bereaved mother after the loss of her infant daughter, Aubrie. She is a published author, a Grief Support Group Facilitator, and fills the roll of “Aftercare Coordinator” for over 200 funeral homes in 25 states. She has visited and provided support for grieving families in their homes and through Funeral Homes, Hospices and faith-based organizations. Linda a lay counselor for a Christian Care Ministry in Greenville, South Carolina. Her highest honor is to enter people’s lives and help make a difference.

Today on the Grief & Healing Corner, Episode 14, we speak with V. Ophelia Rigualt. Ophelia is a certified grief educator, Ordained Metaphysical Minister, Life Coach and Energy Practitioner. Today on the Grief & Healing Corner, Episode 12, we speak with Robin Chodak from Suicide Survivors Support Community (Recover Now From Loss). Robin left her job after 20 years as a computer software systems analyst following the suicide of her husband in 2005. Her journey through grief led to her transformation. She now loves to write and has published two books, “Be Gentle with Me, I’m Grieving” and “Moving to Excellence, A Pathway to Transformation after Grief”. Her life purpose is to encourage and motivate others through teaching and professional coaching. Robin is a Certified Grief, Life, and Spiritual Coach, an International speaker, a Certified Master NLP Practitioner and a Reiki Practitioner. She has also been trained as a group facilitator for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP).

Today on the Grief & Healing Corner, Episode 11, we speak with Andrew McCluskey from Music To Grieve To. Andrew left his corporate retail management career at the age of 29 to come to America and join a rock band. It wasn’t as romantic as it sounds but it was brilliant. Since then he has been employed as a professional musician, website developer, IT Manager, Musical Director, Songwriter, Creative Director, Executive Director, CEO and has founded three separate businesses. He is currently growing Musicto.com – a global community of music lovers who are building audiences through the creation and marketing of behavior based playlists.

Today on the Grief & Healing Corner, Episode 10, we spoke with Rachelle Jones. Rachelle is the owner of Grief Recovery with Rachelle located in Santa Clarita, CA. She is an Advanced Grief Recovery Method Specialist (Heartbreak Hacker), wife and mother, and US Air Force Veteran.

Today on the Grief & Healing Corner, Episode 9, we speak with Melody Nolan from TreasureLives. In honor of her sons, she became an author, speaker, grief coach and the founder of the “Master Grief Coach” training program with a certification option which is available soon. She has diverse education from traditional and progressive professionals with varied grief expertise including the areas of thought, emotion, mindfulness and resilience. Today on the Grief & Healing Corner, Episode 7, we speak with Cassandra Ceyla from Alchemy Cass. Cassandra specializes in Sacred Ceremony Journeying, to uncover your spiritual gifts, cut through past trauma and emotional debris, and assists those who want to discover their spiritual voice. In addition she is a reiki practitioner, a yoga instructor, intuitive guide, and is finishing up her tantra healing training in May. There is even a surprise appearance from Cassandra’s six month old daughter!
