Today I chat with Jonty Hikmet who was able to end his 15+ year journey with IBS and chronic back pain. After discovering the work of Dr John Sarno, he realised how his emotions had lead to his physical symptoms and set about unpacking these. He has since studied with Georgie Oldfield at SIRPA and trained as an IFS (Internal Family Systems) therapist. He now integrates these with his Yoga and Mindfulness teachings to help others resolve their own health issues. We cover lots of things in this episode, including the amazing ripple effect of how changing yourself, can change others!

Today's guest is Lorna Nicholson who after her own health journey with Postural Tachycardia Syndrome (or PoTS for short), found herself stepping away from her busy A&E nursing role. After setting up the charity PoTS UK, she also now teaches Pilates for people with PoTS; ME and Ling Covid. In addition to this, she teaches Pilates teachers on PoTS and is a Buteyko breathing instructor. Lorna is a brilliant example of having listened to what her body was telling her and really learning from what she has been through, to not only help change her own symptoms but also to really help others!
Today's guest is Bethan Thomas who, along with her friend Kate, set up Hot Tea Mama, an award-winning tea company based in the UK. Bethan worked for some of the UK's biggest tea companies before having kids and was the first non-Chinese person to get a degree in Tea Science at the University of Forestry & Agriculture in Fujian, China. She initially developed a tea range to help morning sickness; birth preparation and breastfeeding. The range has now grown to cover periods and peri menopause, as common issues of reproductive health can be naturally supported with tea. And tea always makes life better! These themes which represent his column approach evolved from constantly asking questions and seeking answers for his patients. It was a brilliant conversation with lots of nuggets for all!

She discusses the profound shift she experienced in herself with Hypnosis, which then set her on the path to train in it. She now practices a hybrid form of Hypnosis with her own clients.
Meredith shares her story about how she came to mindful Eating and teaching meditations with chocolate! She also shares her own health challenges and journey. She talks about how listening to her body was so important and continues to be so, in her wellbeing. Recognising stress was a big aspect contributing to her symptoms and that she needed a holistic review of her life. We also discuss how pleasure is such an important part of healthy eating as well as slowing down; connecting with our food and allowing a bit of creativity into your life!
