We learned about him through our own Anaheim Union district librarian, Mrs. Regina Powers, who also joins us this week. Mr. Hier shares his background, writing philosophies, and future plans for budding artists. Mrs. Powers presents her plans for a district-wide creative writing magazine for students. It’s an episode you don’t want to miss!
The podcast club loves October, and they ring in the month with a discussion of the Day of the Dead, a tradition celebrated in the Hispanic culture. The kids give an in-depth overview of the holiday and a brief overview of its comparisons to the American holiday of Halloween. Keep listening to the end when they cover folklore and ghost stories. Today we are here with Travis Wells and Kyle Wu to talk about Bob Sykes who is the current coach of John F Kennedy’s varsity football team, specifically how he accomplished and met the standards of becoming Orange County’s Coach of the Week. He has spent most of his life coaching numerous colleges and high schools and is a walk on hire to the Fighting Irish team. He was also a former quarterback for the University of Arkansas along with playing over at St. Louis High School in Hawaii. Enjoy!
