We're taking a week off of a regular MTMUG episode this week, but have a special bonus episode that gives you a taste of what you're missing on our Patreon. We're going to Disneyworld on the Patreon this week, and are taking about five ABC sticoms that brought (most) of its cast to the Happiest Place on Earth. First, we talk about Step By Step, our favorite Brady Bunch knockoff, that spent Grandma's inheritance money early by getting an all-expense trip to Disney World. Second, we talk about Boy Meets World's forgettable episode where Corey and Shawn journey cross-country to track down Topanga on a school trip to Epcot. We talk about the House Meets Mouse episode of Full House where Michelle Tanner gets to be princess for a day at the Magic Kingdom. We couldn't leave off Family Matters' unhinged episode where Steve Urkel unleashes his cloned alter ego, Stefan Urquelle, onto the Disney parks to sweep Laura Winslow off her feet, and we finish up talking about the best sitcom goes to Disney episode of them all, Disney World War II from Roseanne. If you enjoy this episode subscribe to our Patreon at the five dollar level for more TV Shows that Keep Us Gay! In a rare move by Boy Meets World writers, they pulled a storyline straight from the big screen for this Season 6 romp, putting Eric right in the middle of “The Truman Show.” Will can perfectly recall a line from an obscure sitcom from the ‘70s, but has no memory of filming this episode! As a result, the gang unpacks why maybe this one’s been erased from the podcast’s most effective brain. Plus, the return of another character who has a familiar name, alongside an unusual outburst of anger from Alan! And did Will experience breaking & entering or just a breaking of etiquette? We saw a ton of recognizable, and established, actors stop by Boy Meets World as a guest star through the first 5 seasons of the show - but it’s possible none were as interesting, and inspiring, as this week’s guest. In addition to playing “Jump Master” in the newly G.O.A.T.’d Season 5 episode, “Raging Cory,” this familiar face has worked with Spike Lee, Bong Joon Ho, Wes Anderson and the Coen Bros., where he stole one of the most intensely dramatic (and funny?) scenes in film history. Oh, and did we mention he was a cast member on In Living Color? He’s legendary, internally evolved and a pioneer when it comes to racial equality and standing up for what you believe in. Even when it’s hard to do. This week on Pod Meets World - it’s Stephen Park!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
I kicked things off with my “New Year, new me” update, where I proudly announced that I've stopped biting my nails and, believe it or not, even managed to cut back on my daytime smoking. Yes, it's a small victory, but when you're trying to be wedding-ready, every little bit counts. My gym escapades at Planet Fitness provided plenty of comic relief. Picture this: me, barely a minute in, setting off the infamous lunk alarm, and having to explain to a very confused staff member that it's just my natural charm wreaking havoc on the quiet gym ambiance. Over time, I learned that five minutes on the StairMaster is the unofficial test of being a “bad bitch.” Trust me, if you can handle those stairs, you've already earned a spot in my inner circle. But the absurdity doesn't stop there. I laid out my wild plan to have Joe Exotic, yes, the Tiger King himself, officiate my wedding. I even joked about needing a presidential pardon—courtesy of Donald Trump—to get Joe out of prison in time. It's a ridiculous notion, but then again, so is my life, and I wouldn't have it any other way.Nostalgia hit hard in this episode, as I reminisced about my childhood filled with Nickelodeon gems like “Hey Arnold” and “Angry Beavers,” alongside the life lessons of “Boy Meets World.” It's funny how those shows, once the center of my universe, now serve as bittersweet reminders of a simpler time, even as I navigate the complexities of adult life and reunions that are more awkward than heartwarming.Of course, no episode would be complete without a jab at modern technology and social media. I ranted about the ongoing drama on Facebook—yes, that relic—and urged everyone to ditch it for something more authentic. Meanwhile, I defended my love for Tesla's cutting-edge tech, not because I'm a fan of Elon Musk, but because I truly appreciate innovation when I see it.And then there was Pokémon Day. While the hype for downloadable collections and new game announcements fizzled out (once again), I managed to snag a holographic Articuno in a Twitter giveaway—another reminder that in this digital age, even our hobbies come with a side of irony. In a nutshell, episode 179 is a snapshot of my life: part self-improvement saga, part pop culture rant, and entirely unapologetic about the absurdity that is my world. What are we doing? Apparently, we're laughing in the face of chaos—and that's just how I like it.*************************************************************✅BLUECHEW - FIRST ORDER FREE Only $5 Shippinghttps://wawdpod.com/blue*************************************************************

Warning: This episode contains adult language and subject matter. Listener discretion is advised. With the start of Season 6, the hosts have already clocked a handful of massive changes. From the introduction of Pennbrook to a goofier, funnier Eric to (kinda) new opening credits - and a spankin’ new cast member. The gang catches up with Maitland Ward, the season’s first guest, to hear the story of how she became the beloved new roommate, Rachel McGuire. But the role didn’t come without some strange wardrobe fittings and traditional newbie hazing! Plus, she opens up about her spicy post-Boy Meets World career, and Danielle asks a question she’s been wondering since the podcast started. All this on a new, and memorable, Pod Meets World!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
The wait is over! The hosts are entering the halls of Pennbrook, leaving behind the naive salad days of John Adams High, and the podcast is officially in its Season 6 era. With a wedding proposal looming from a cliffhanger, and the addition of a new cast member, we have a lot of questions! When did Cory and Topanga ACTUALLY meet? Why can’t they just wait a minute to get married? Does Topanga even remember she was accepted to Yale? Is Eric going to be THIS funny all season long??? Plus, continuing the podcast tradition, we find out what our hosts did as teens during Boy Meets World’s Summer hiatus. And yes, Danielle got a tan. Hear it all on a new, and moving right along, episode of Pod Meets World!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
You’ve heard the origin stories of Boy Meets World, but now we go back to the beginning, to hear how one man turned Friday nights into a shocking ratings juggernaut. The gang is talking to Jim Janicek, the marketing whiz kid who created the TGIF programming block for ABC! Hear the story of how he first pitched the idea that completely changed television, and launched the cultural phenomenon that includes “Full House,” Family Matters,” “Perfect Strangers” and yes, “Boy Meets World.” Jim reveals which successful idea he was WRONG about, and we find out what TGIF REALLY stands for, all on an epic episode of…Pod Meets World! “WHEN THIS BOY MEETS WOORRRRLD!!!!” An entire generation knows the song, and now it’s time to meet the man who made it! Phil Rosenthal (not that one) was the lead vocalist for the band Twenty Cent Crush who was tasked with creating a theme for the 5th season of Boy Meets World, and now he’s revealing how it all happened - and changed his life. Plus, Phil reveals how the theme song to “Girl Meets World” was almost COMPLETELY different, on this bonus episode of Pod Meets WorldSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
When you work with child actors, finding the perfect person to stand-in for your characters can be challenging, but that’s where Kevin and Tracey Thompson came in! The legendary married couple served as stand-ins for the young actors on Boy Meets World, but that’s just a small part of their impressive resumés. Kevin shares stories from the set of Blade Runner, and we hear all about his adventures as an Ewok in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, a subject Tracey wrote an entire book about. The storied history of little people in Hollywood helped build the industry, but now it’s time to expand their presence on TV and in the movies. Kevin & Tracey have been at the forefront of this movement for decades, and now they bring their legacy to the new episode of Pod Meets World! See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
We’re heading back into the Boy Meets World writer’s room to learn about crafting a sitcom, directly from Emmy award winner, Barbie Feldman. Barbie reveals how a clerical error, and fetching comic books, led to her first writer’s room and penning Season 5 classics like “Raging Cory” and “Eric Hollywood.” And she shares stories from other legendary shows on her resume, like Arrested Development, How I Met Your Mother and Nobody Wants This. It all started with Shawn, Eric & Topanga - but only one cast member caused the most rewrites! Find out who when we go behind the scenes on a new Pod Meets World…See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
WWE superstar Liv Morgan is diving from the top rope and right onto the podcast. The major Boy Meets World superfan not only loves the show, it emotionally drains her. And yes, she saw Danielle and seat 4C (from the ring!) and wants to set the record straight on who should’ve, and should not have, been recognized. As she trains for this weekend’s Royal Rumble, Liv unleashes her inner fangirl to share her favorite episode, and they decide if her current relationship with Dominic Mysterio has real Cory / Topanga vibes. Plus, they learn about life as a “heel” and try to get Rider to finally commit to Wrestlemania, all on this ringside edition of Pod Meets World!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Once again, we’re turning the spotlight onto you, the listeners, to work through another heated Boy Meets World debate: Should Topanga have gone to Yale?? In season 5, Topanga was faced with a major dilemma: choosing between attending Yale, or staying home for her relationship with Cory. It’s spawned an argument that, even decades later, has good points on both sides… And so now the gang listens to voice memos, sent in from fans with opinions, including many who’ve actually lived the Cory/Topanga storyline! So here’s your acceptance letter, but only you can decide what to do…on a brand new Pod Meets World!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
