The Motherhood Thing: As Mother’s Day has passed, we hope everyone had a great day celebrating. We talk a lot on subjects that can really apply to your life whether you are a mother or not, parenting or not, or in life in general. Today we wanted to touch on some things we as mothers have experienced and learned/learning from. Motherhood is such a personal and unique experience, yet we allow outside influences to dictate our own parenting experience. In a world of so many different perspectives, you must learn what works for you and what doesn’t. Take pieces from everywhere and create your own environment for what works, but do not let those pieces work against you. Its up to you to not let expectations, judgements, and shaming run your experience. No body in this world is you, no body in this world are your kids. There is no rule book, or step by step guide on what to do. Also, you are not alone, we are all out here doing the best we can, finding what works for us. Be open to help and advice without taking it as something to tear you down. Honor yourself, honor your struggle, honor your experience, honor your wins, and honor the other moms in your life trying to figure out their paths. Experts say when you forgive you do not gloss over or deny the seriousness of an offense against you. The act of giving forgiveness or needing forgiveness is rooted in your EGO. In order to need to forgive someone or yourself you first must be offering judgement. The Expectations Thing EXPECTATIONS ARE LIMITATIONS!!!! Whatever you expect to happen, could never be everything that could possibly happen. Today we are talking on expectations. What does that mean? What expectations are you putting on yourself, or on your life, or on the people around you? Are you living your life based on other people’s expectations of you? Expectations are very different than standards. Expectations are external limits, standards are based on an internal compass. When you are holding onto expectations of other people or living based on other people’s expectations you are holding up space at your table for others to sit down. You are limiting the experience you could have with others by letting expectations rule your table. When you continue to let someone treat you a certain way because you think its expected of you to continue the relationship you are dropping your standards to uphold their expectations, instead of upholding your standards, and dropping their expectations. The Opinion Thing: Today we are talking about Opinions! And no, we’re not just talking about “everyone has one”. Today we are going into what to do with other people’s opinion or you projecting your opinion out. No matter what someone’s opinion is of you, that is a direct reflection of an insecurity they have of how they think something or someone should be. That doesn’t make their opinion right and doesn’t make your opinion right. Just like we talked about before thoughts are not right or wrong, it is what ever you think it is. If you are allowing other peoples opinion to change how you live your life, then you are willingly handing over your power to an outside source. Other peoples opinion of you can only effect you if it is hitting a weak spot, when you heal that weak spot there is nothing they can hurt. If you are living your life for other people’s validation you are putting your happiness into other peoples hands. When you get quiet, and only paying attention to YOUR internal voice you can not hear the positive or negative coming in. When you start to heal yourself and the spots that hurt when people poke them, there is nothing for them to poke. Bruises heal, but its up to heal yourself. The Boundary Thing: Today we are talking about your boundaries. When you set a boundary, you are the one responsible for honoring that boundary, not for other people to figure them out. How do you know what your boundaries are? It’s a lot of self-awareness and exploring what your boundaries are. The feelings that come up when you start setting them, can be feelings your not used to and maybe you need to feel them to heal. If someone breaks into your house, you’re not going to say, “oh sorry I didn’t leave the door unlocked for you”. You’re not going to pursue a toxic relationship with them. You are going to protect your space at all cost. This is what you need to do with your peace, your personal space, and mental health. If you would cut a stranger off for disrespecting you, but if a family member or spouse or any person close to you does this and we keep allowing this in our lives. This is not easy, by any means. This is a reprogramming of your subconscious. You cannot change your behavior externally without changing internally. As above so below. You cannot expect other people to respect your boundaries if you can not respect your own boundaries, or honoring them, or standing up for them. Becoming aware of your boundaries are also about communicating. As you get to know these new limits, you are allowed and should communicate them to people around you as things happen. How they respond is on them, and you may get a reaction you don’t expect. Sometimes the reaction wont be good, but more often than not the people that care about you will respect and enjoy the fact that your growing! Also, we are touching on the metaphysical side of boundaries. The Empath Thing Empathy vs being an Empath. What does that really mean? How can you use being an Empath to work as a strength instead of a weakness? We are covering all that in today’s episode. We are breaking down what each of those are. Some of the downfalls for being and untrained Empath, and how it can wreak havoc on your life and your emotions. Many empaths often get diagnosed with depression, anxiety, and/or bi-polar. Untrained empaths are also often labeled as highly sensitive or get over stimulated very easily. Why does this happen? This episode provides great information, and advice for those who may not yet know they are empathic, or for those who have known for a long time they are empaths and are looking to use this gift/ability to align and work with their life’s bigger purpose. The scientific evidence that was talked about in this episode was from: Psychiatrist, Judith Orloff wrote the Empath’s Survival Guide; a book aimed at helping highly attuned people to not absorb the stress of the world. Interestingly, the evidence she uses to characterize empaths. 1. The Mirror Neuron System A specialized group of brain cells have been discovered, which are responsible for compassion. They essentially enable people to mirror emotions and reflect another person’s joy, pain, or fear. Some people are more sensitive to these neurons than others. Mirror Neurons are a source of connection with another person, where you feel what they feel. If someone is sad you feel sad, if someone is happy, you feel happy, if someone is afraid, you feel afraid, etc. 2. Emotional Contagion Research has shown the contagious effect of emotion. People pick up on a dominant mood, or amplify a behavior which represents an underlying emotion. For example, a crying baby can set off the same reaction in a whole ward of babies. One person expressing anxiety in a busy queue can spread it to other people very quickly. Humans are great at spreading and catching emotional viruses in groups. It is a key part of synchronizing and building connections through relationships. It’s likely a key survival mechanism in the story of our development as a species. 3. Electromagnetic Signals The HeartMath Institute have done research demonstrating, “different patterns of heart activity (which accompany different emotional states) have distinct effects on cognitive and emotional function. During stress and negative emotions, when the heart rhythm pattern is erratic and disordered, the corresponding pattern of neural signals traveling from the heart to the brain inhibits higher cognitive functions. Stress is very simple and can be brought down to one simple thought, "what are you trying to control?" Anxiety is the physical manifestation of stress. What does anxiety really do to the body. What happens when untreated stress and anxiety turns into depression. Debilitating depression is when your body and mind are depleted and exhausted. Metaphysics by definition, is the study of that which science cannot tangibly examine. Energies, sub-conscious things like that. This approach is about more than managing your life struggles its about overcoming them. It takes a strong person to be able to identify that shadow side and start overcoming and healing each of those parts one by one. It’s not about giving excuses to your trauma or accepting that your broken. YOUR NOT. You have a responsibility to heal yourself and live your best life. The Spirit Thing Today in the “spirit” of Spooky Season, we are talking about Spirits and Ghosts and all the things that go with it. Have you had experiences where you thought you saw something that wasn’t there or heard something that wasn’t there? Odds are you weren’t wrong. Maybe you had an experience that you knew exactly what it was but it left you questioning what it really was, or why are these things happening. Some people are more sensitive to these happenings, some know this and some do not. Are you a light to the other side? Spooky Season, October, Samhain, All Hallows Eve, and Halloween tends to lead into more of these experiences happening, but why? Well the veil is thinning……. Among other reasons, but we are covering that today. What is a Spirit vs Ghost? What is crossed over vs. not crossed over? Poltergeist energy? What does all this mean and how does it effect you? When spirits communicate with you, they will come with a purpose and a message. Whether it’s a song, or numbers, phrases, they will do whatever is needed to get your attention. A sprit that is crossed over will never use your personal energy to communicate with you and will never do something to deliberately invoke fear from you. Also talking on the “good” and “bad” with spirits, demons, ghosts. Low vibrations, high vibrations, low frequencies, high frequencies. You never mess with the other side when you don’t know what your doing and how to protect your self or help them. What is Universal Law? How can you use it to protect yourself? You have your 5 physical senses, see, hear, sight, touch, taste, smell. There is also 5 senses for the other side. Everyone has them, its just which ones are stronger or more dominate for you. Everyone has the ability to connect to the other side, and there are some that are more naturally able to and are like a light to the other side that these beings will gravitate to, like moths to a flame. *These are our experiences, our opinions, coming from a Metaphysical side, and to show there are more than one way of looking at this topic.* We are continuing our conversation on Mental Health, covering some topics we ran out of time on from last week. Society fears what it does not know. Those who control the views of the society will label what it doesn’t know as broken, crazy, wrong, or damaged. People arnt crazy, they are gifted. But that is not what we are taught to view these gifts as. When you are not meeting societies expectations of what you should be, or how you should feel, you will feel disconnected from your self and what you want to feel. We are talking on the stigma with men and mental health. Societies expectaions and what they put on men and how they should feel and how they should be. Human beings need to feel emotions. We need to be focusing on allowing men and women to feel and express emotions, instead of surpressing them and trying to conform to what we “think” we should be. Mental health is not gender specfic or status specfic. You have to find what feed yours soul, you have to find your passion. Your not crazy, there is nothing “wrong” with you. If you are truly intrested in being naturally happy and fulfilled. It is possible. Mental health is not a box and neither is overcoming the struggles within it. There are options. The Mental Health Thing Part 1. **Trigger Warning** These are our opinions and views from a Metaphysical point of science. There are so many more options than what is given by society in the mental health community. You must find what works for you. Your mental health is yours and should be tailored to you. Not just what society says you are and how to treat your mental wellness. What you think are your weaknesses, what you think makes you broken, could be your strengths and gifts that you have. Learning to work with them, instead of suppressing them could be what unlocks the rest of your life. Society says something is wrong with you, we are saying you lean into your gifts. Your mental illness, or any illness is not your identity. You struggling doesn’t mean that your broken. Your struggle doesn’t define you. We need to feel our emotions, we need to process those emotions. We need to break the stigma of numbing out our emotions. We need to break the stigma of not talking about those emotions. It is not about living with an illness, its not about a cure, its not about managing your life. Its about OVERCOMING, its about THRIVING. The work that gets you to that place takes amazingly hard work. You can have the life you want. Its okay to not be ok, it is not ok to do nothing about it. You are not alone. You are enough. The Superhero Thing: Public Service Announcement: YOU ARE NOT A SUPERHERO AND NEITHER IS SHE/HE. It is not ok to run your self into the ground, in the name of “being able to”. We can not change societies expectations without changing our own. The mentality of “if you’re not doing everything than why are you even trying” is unrealistic. Be unapologetically you, find your strengths, and be proud of them. Be proud of the people around you that are being unapologetically them. If it cost you your joy, it is to expensive. Self-care is not a job it is a life experience, stop giving what’s left of you and give the best of you. Self-awareness, self-assessment, then self-care. Start having that internal conversation with yourself, give yourself what you need. If you don’t like your life experience, change HOW your experience your life.

Stop trying to life 1000lbs at one time. Lift 1lb a 1000x. Failing is just a matter of perspective. Your not scared of failing, your scared of other people seeing you fail. Enjoy the journey, do what feels good to you, and learn along the way. Its not about the success, or the end goal, its learning all the ways not to do something. Expectations are limitations. You cant fail at something you were created to do. Let go of what you think the path should look like. The Personal Journey! Your personal journey is just that YOURS. Were taking a look and talking about all the things around the journey. Stop comparing your starting point to someone else’s middle point. Every path is unique to what is set out for YOU. “To let go of anger and competition and to do it honestly, you have to understand that perseverance is a personal journey.”-Megan. You are not here to determine (or hand out Karma) for others life’s path. The only Karma you have control over is your own. Your path is not set out for you to have an audience in your journey, it is to learn the lessons. Learning the Spiral of lessons on your way, and healing in those lessons. You can’t fail at something unless you quit before you succeed, sometimes when you fail the test you could be passing the lesson. Your rock bottom doesn’t have to fit societies rock bottom. Stay in your lane, have gratitude for the lessons and learning, enjoy the view around you, keep growing, be proud of yourself, help others authentically.
