    It's not talked about often, but one of the forgotten factors of people that stay naturally lean is that they're able to tap into fat as a fuel source while they sleep… The reason this is important is that if you stop eating a few hours before bed and then you're in bed for 7-9 hours, you have 10-12+ hours where your glucose levels should be normalized and fat should be the primary fuel… However, in people with dysfunctional metabolisms glucose stays elevated due to cortisol, poor sleep patterns, and other “overnight imbalances,” which then, in turn, leads to stubborn weight gain….
