Walk & Talk

Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. 23 Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror 24 and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. James 1:22-24

19 My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, 20 because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. 21 Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you. - James 1:19-21

When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death. Don't be deceived, my dear brothers and sisters. James 1:13-16

Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.

9 Believers in humble circumstances ought to take pride in their high position. 10 But the rich should take pride in their humiliation—since they will pass away like a wild flower. 11 For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed. In the same way, the rich will fade away even while they go about their business. James 1:9-11

5 If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. 6 But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7 That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. 8 Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do. James 1:5-8

Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. JAMES 1:4

8 For, as I have often told you before and now tell you again even with tears, many live as enemies of the cross of Christ. 19 Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is set on earthly things. Philippians 3:18-19

And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, 10 so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, 11 filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God. I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death. 21 For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. 22 If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. Yet what shall I choose? I do not know! 23 I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far; 24 but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body. 25 Convinced of this, I know that I will remain, and I will continue with all of you for your progress and joy in the faith, 26 so that through my being with you again your boasting in Christ Jesus will abound on account of me. Trust Issues

Because I live, you also will live. 20 On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. 21 Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.” 22 Then Judas (not Judas Iscariot) said, “But, Lord, why do you intend to show yourself to us and not to the world?” 23 Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. 24 Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God[a]; believe also in me. My Father's house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.” Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don't know where you are going, so how can we know the way?” Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good. The LORD looks down from heaven on all mankind to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God. All have turned away, all have become corrupt; there is no one who does good, not even one. Do all these evildoers know nothing? They devour my people as though eating bread; they never call on the LORD. But there they are, overwhelmed with dread, for God is present in the company of the righteous. You evildoers frustrate the plans of the poor, but the LORD is their refuge. Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion! When the LORD restores his people, let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad! Psalm 14:1-7

Tip For Reconciliation: People offend, lie, gossip, betray, murder ect. Revenge and anger in the Bible is replaced with the forgiveness of Jesus. Love each other with forgiveness. Matthew 18:20-21

Tip for Reconciliation: Placing your hope in God removes darkness to create humility, unity and compassion. Psalm 42:5-11

Tip for Reconciliation: Begin with God to live well with each other or you will hate and reject everything good. Genesis 1:26-31

Tip for Reconciliation: Love insiders and outsiders well because God loves you well. You were once strangers and enemies of God. I Thessalonians 4:9-12

Tip for Reconciliation: When you focus on God, you relate with people in healthy not selfish ways. Psalm 138:1-3 I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart; before the “gods” I will sing your praise. I will bow down toward your holy temple and will praise your name for your unfailing love and your faithfulness, for you have so exalted your solemn decree that it surpasses your fame. When I called, you answered me; you greatly emboldened me.

Tip for Reconciliation: You are raised up with Jesus and seated at the right hand of God: tolerate and forgive every grievance.

Micah 6:8 Tip for Reconciliation: Never evil only do good to people. This means respect and justice for all. Mercy for all. Always humble before God and every person

Philippians 1:3-7 Tip for Reconciliation: Do you like to care for people? Thankful for all your relatives? Grateful for ever Christian? Because God is at work in every person and expects gratitude not meanness toward every person.

Tip for on Reconciliation: Lying or stealing from others teams up with the Devil. You should inspire the person in front of you with truth and grace and be careful not to sin with your anger or you will be playing into the hands of the Devil. Verse Reference Ephesians 4:25-29

Galatians 6:1-5 Reconciliation Tip: When you see sin in another Christian cross check your feelings. When Peter sinned, what did Jesus feel? Did Jesus feel harsh, angry and hateful or did Jesus feel gentle, living and helpful?

1Peter 4:7-11 Tips for Reconciliation: Do you avoid certain people? Jesus was always cheerful and giving to especially strangers. Yes, it's risky to be hospitable to strangers, neighbors and even some family members. Have you noticed how easy it is to discriminate and be unloving to certain people? Jesus loved the world because it was and is HIs life purpose. Are you cheerful and giving to all because you are a Christian?

1John 4:1-6 Tip #43 on Reconciliation: Don't believe everything you hear. People lie about Jesus, God and the truth. Listen to see if people confess Jesus comes from God. If they don't, ask them why not. Reconcile around the truth about Jesus. Never compromise Jesus as your Savior sent by God.

Philippians 1:12-18 Tip #42 on Reconciliation: Christians, until the day they die, wrestle with selfish ambition rooted in the envy of others. Never take advantage of of another person's weak circumstance. Sacrifice as Jesus sacrificed. Always check your motives and methods. Lift each other up.

Be honest. Let God forgive your sins so you can forgive the sins of others so you can begin to love them the way God loves you.

To see the profound meaning of John 10, recall the magnificent compassion Jesus presented to the blind man in John 9 who became a star witness for Jesus. Contrast the goodness of Jesus to the hostility and evil rejection from the anti-Jesus religious leaders toward the blind man because he said Jesus gave him new eyes. This will help you see the goodness of Jesus toward you when evil people hurt you. Can you list the many ways Jesus is the Good Shepherd? From John 10:1-10 how is Jesus the Good Shepherd?

Miracles are fake or real? Jesus said miracles are true and He did miracles to help us believe He is God. Do you believe Jesus can do miracles? If “Yes,” you are called a Believer. If “No,” you are a Truth Rejector. Jesus said, “He is the way, the truth and the life and no one comes to the Father except through Him.”

Mark 12:38-44 Pastor Roger talks about reconciliation: Big gifts to God are determined by huge sacrifice not huge amounts. God wants sacrificing love to our neighbors.

This past week did you face any conflicts, problems or obstacles which left you feeling weak or stressed? Good chance you did or you know someone who did. Why did Jesus say we should pray every day, “Give us this day our daily bread”? Does this refer only to “food”? Or more than food? If Yes, what other needs does it include? Why does Jesus say pray to the Father every day, “Your kingdom come, Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven.” What did Jesus mean when He said. “I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me will not hunger, and he who believes in Me will never thirst.”?

Some things are right and some things are wrong. Atheists agree. Call it ethics or moral code or law code. Constitutional law. Judicial law. Federal law. State law. Street gangs run by the code of thug life. Ask people questions and everyone will produce their own list of right and wrong. Philosophers existentially, practically and morally say some things are right and some things are wrong. Roger Ball is a big fan of science and an even bigger fan of the Creator of Science because the Creator can walk on water, calm any storm, defy every weather predictor, confuse and amaze all scientists, shock and humiliate the politicians and mystify and humble all doctors.
