Health and Care is the biggest sector represented in Commission. How much more could we achieve for the kingdom if we were better connected to each other? Hear from fellow workers in health and care who will be sharing how their faith impacts their work and join us in an interactive workshop to design the first ‘Commission Community’, reaching across our family of churches to all those involved in health and care.
In order to transform the world and the life of the church, we need churches pulsating with God’s presence and overflowing with spiritual gifts. How do we release spiritual gifts in our meetings without getting weird? How do we use spiritual gifts every day and everywhere without freaking people out? Come and explore these, and similar questions, with particular attention being given to the gifts of prophecy and tongues.

In this seminar Martin will use his experience leading Jubilee+ to give an overview of the big challenges and amazing opportunities facing churches at this crucial time in national life and in world mission.
Many Christians lack confidence in their ability to speak positively and biblically on matters around gender fluidity and same-sex attraction. In a culture increasingly hostile to the Bible’s teaching in these areas, it’s important we can respond both with truth and kindness to people in these circumstances. Christian silence simply allows the media to dictate societal attitudes and misses opportunities to share the Bible’s good news with the marginalised.
We have a Great Commission from Jesus to 'make disciples of all nations' but sometimes the culture of church and the way faith is lived out can put off the very people we are called to reach. Is there a better way? This seminar will look at how to develop a culture both in our churches and in our lives that will help us more effectively reach people from our increasingly broken world with the love of Jesus.
We will explore the cultural dynamics of honour and shame in Scripture, dynamics which we can often miss as Western readers. Why was Boaz’ acceptance of Ruth so significant? What did it cost Joseph to marry pregnant Mary? How does the cross of Jesus Christ deal with our shame? What are the pastoral implications of broadening our gospel language to include honour and shame? How can we share the gospel with our friends, who think more about shame than about guilt and as Western readers of Scripture, engage with these issues?

In this seminar, we’ll explore some of the temptations that can attack our true identity in Jesus, including appetite, approval and ambition. Beryl & Kieran Grogan (Westminster Chapel) will share how they have sought to keep Jesus at the centre throughout normal life with some significant trials.

A topical subject that is important to discuss within a safe environment, this seminar will address some of the influences, both positive and negative, many drawn from real life experiences. If so, Pete and Christine Winmill would love to meet you and explain how Count Everyone In can support you. Welcoming disabled people into our churches is not simply a matter of improving physical access. This seminar is intended to support churches in becoming more accessible to all disabled people but especially those with a learning disability who are so often forgotten because they may not be able to speak up for themselves. Expect to be challenged about communication, attitudes and much more.

We’ll be using various parts of Paul’s Letters to guide an honest and practical look at marriage through the eyes of three couples at very different stages of life. Ben and Nancy Martin (married 5 years), Eugene and Jodie Engelbrecht (married 11 years) and Robin and Anna Willison (married 36 years). This certainly won’t be a how-to guide but an opportunity to reflect on the foundations of what makes a marriage work - so, there will be plenty of interaction with exercises to stimulate thought and conversation.
God’s purpose has always been the same. Starting in Genesis and restated throughout history; He is the King and He wants all to know Him. Jesus then instructs the church to play their part in the Great Commission and we can now play our part as we work together to see thousands of lives transformed through hundreds of churches in tens of nations. Multiculturalism is a real and growing reality in our communities in the UK. The Church has the responsibility of showing the power of the gospel to reconcile all people groups for the glory of God. At a practical level, this requires wisdom, flexibility and real conviction to effectively build a multicultural church. In this seminar, we will be looking at the joys and challenges of being part of a multicultural church
