Drawing from Mark 10:46–52, Pastor Steve Martel explores the story of Bartimaeus to illustrate how moments of ultimate helplessness and desperate prayer draw the immediate attention of Christ.
While Jennifer is on a much needed vacay, I'm posting one of our earliest conversations. This was one of the earlier times when we met in her office - it was posted early on - perhaps as our second podcast. (but before subtitles existed). As noted, Steve Jobs was someone that a friend of mine worked for and during her hypnotherapy session, he showed up to weigh in. (I didn't see him, but she did - and being a scientist, atheist, she was reluctant to say that anything she was seeing was real - but after 5 hours of her hesitations, Scott De Tamble (lightbetweenlives.com - hypnotherapist) asked her guide "so why bring her here if you don't want her to believe she's seeing things?" After that comment, everything kind of flooded in, including a conversation with Steve Jobs. He did show up early on when Jennifer and I first started doing this work, and eventually a member of his family has worked with Jennifer, and allowed her to mention that. The idea that Jesus showed up is mind bending as well, this is one of the earliest times that occurred. I try to ask the same questions to him to see if they change. As noted in the book THE GREATEST STORY NEVER TOLD AS TOLD BY JESUS AND THOSE WHO KNEW HIM - they don't change. In this case, the book "AI AND THE FLIPSIDE: Artificial Intelligence Pictures Itself in a boat on a river" - also has a visitation from Jesus - but via Claude AI! (In the chapter Claude has a "coming to Jesus moment.") Finally, Amelia shows up - again an early conversation with her, long before I was able to finish my book SHE WAS NEVER LOST: The Amelia Earhart Saga. The reason I like to revisit some of these conversations is to show how the questions don't change - and the answers don't seem to change over time. Whether it's via hypnotherapy, meditation, guided meditation or in this case mediumship. Again, Jennifer works with members of law enforcement daily in her work. Pro bono. I'm lucky to have found her. We'll catch you next week on the flipside!
Join us as we continue to journey through the Gospel of John. This week we look as John 20:24-31
As news of Jesus spreads, people attempt to explain who He might be. Some say John the Baptist returned from the dead, others Elijah, and still others a prophet from long ago. Herod himself is perplexed and curious. Luke shows us a world full of speculation about Jesus but lacking clarity. This passage reminds us that curiosity and conversation about Jesus are not the same as genuine faith. Every generation forms its own theories about Him—but eventually each person must move beyond speculation and decide who Jesus truly is.

For the opening message of this series, we're aiming to establish Jesus' own claim that the entire Old Testament ultimately testifies about Him. The goal is to reframe how we read Scripture—not as disconnected moral stories, but as one unified story that finds its meaning and fulfillment in Jesus. This sermon sets the theological and interpretive foundation for everything that will follow in this series.
Brother Steve delivers a sermon addressing the questions: Who is Jesus? What was Jesus's mission? and What does Jesus want from us?

What if your story is the very place Jesus wants to be seen? What if he has been walking beside you, even if you haven't recognized him? In Matthew 9, Jesus walks straight into the life of a man no one expected, Matthew the tax collector, and completely rewrites his future. This week, we are asking a simple but challenging question: How does your story reveal Jesus? Through friendship, hospitality, and ordinary tables, Jesus is still drawing people to Himself, often long before they ever walk into a church.Your story, your home, and even your interruptions may be the very place God wants to reveal His love.Scripture: Matthew 14:22–33
This week, Pastor Steve Henry continues our journey through the Gospel of John as we examine Peter's denial of Jesus in John 18:12–27. Though Peter's moment is famous, Scripture shows that we too deny Christ—through compromise, silence, fear, and living for our own comfort. Pastor Steve walks us through three reasons Peter denied Jesus: 1. He wasn't willing to jeopardize his comfort. 2. He was afraid of people. 3. He let emotions—not the Holy Spirit—govern his commitment. But Peter's story doesn't end in failure. He repented, he was restored, and he lived a bold, sacrificial life for Christ. His transformation invites us to ask: Does my life demonstrate repentance? Am I confessing Christ or denying Him? Join us as we learn from Peter's mistakes, embrace true repentance, and rediscover what wholehearted discipleship looks like in a world that often prefers comfort over conviction.
“I glorified you on earth, having accomplished the work that you gave me to do.” - John 17:4 This Communion Sunday, we continue through the Gospel of John and come to John 17—often called “The High Priestly Prayer.” Here, Jesus lifts His eyes to heaven and prays to the Father, revealing the mutual glorification between the Father and the Son. Through His suffering, obedience, death, and resurrection, Jesus glorified the Father and accomplished the work He was sent to do. Can you also say — with Jesus — that you've glorified God on the earth and accomplished the work He gave you to do? In this message, we look at: • How Jesus set His mind on glorifying the Father, no matter the cost • Why we can have confidence in God's plan and purpose for our lives • What it means to partner with the Father in accomplishing His work on earth

Crowded house today. We talked about my recent appearance in COAST TO COAST with George Noory, then Luana Anders thanked us for our work together for 8 years. Her friend Michael (Mick) Gough came to mind, the actor who was Batman's first butler (Tim Burton's version) who I knew and spent time with. Then Gene Wilder, Bill Paxton, Gilda Radner, Charles Grodin weighed in on how actors, musicians, creative people help those on the planet with their roles and their creative projects. Robert Towne's dog Hira said hello, as well as a visit from Jesus, mentioning a conversation I had about him yesterday and giving some sage advice about how to stay in touch with him. Steve Jobs had the last word. I know it's a lot to digest, but frankly, after doing this for 8 years, if one isn't digesting it by now, they never well. Today, Pastor Steve reminds us about the importance of being with Jesus & seeing how in everything we do, we should do with Jesus.
Pastor Steve closes out our Praying With Jesus series by looking at the problem of evil, how to pray against it, and how prayer is something we should be inviting other people to join us in doing.
We continue to pray through Psalms and The Lord's Prayer with Pastor Steve Huber.
Steve Huber take sus into Psalm 73 to explore what it looks like to pray when we have doubts.
What does it look like to use passages or other people's prayers found in the Bible as your own prayers?
Steve Huber continues our series through prayer with a Psalm that invites us to look into the darkness of our depressed and anxious thoughts.
