This last episode of Season 3 will cover the sudden death of Arthur John Shawcross, Our last visit was September 8th, 9th, and 10th 2008Arthur John Shawcross died November 10th, 2008This is the final storyBefore he died he says in a letter:“You're Welcome Anthony, I have written and given you what I have never given to anyone else Anthony and that is a blow by blow of the crimes I did in Rochester. As for the other two crimes that will stay hidden. Don't even go there. Actually I have sent you many things that no one has ever gotten from me. You're a good friend Anthony.”Art tells Tony that Son of Sam David Berkowitz was in a cult and he didn't commit the murders alone.This was in 2007 and Tony and Al thought this was prison gossip and mainly bullshit. Now it's thought to be true. Tony will cover the descriptions of the last 3 victims of ShawcrossIn his last letter Art asks: “Did you get the return photos yet that I signed from your visit?”These were photos that he signed from our last visit with Arthur John Shawcross

Keith Jesperson sent Arthur Shawcross a letter which was shared with me. Art was not very happy with what Keith had to say, and wrote in large letters “Fuck This Maggot” across the top of the letter. As you can only imagine the responses from Shawcross aren't very pretty. Ha haTony will be covering Shawcross' descriptions of the murders of Patty Ives and Frances Brown Victims 4 and 5. Arthur Shawcross takes the meaning of narcissism to a new level

John Douglas, The Mindhunter himself sent Arthur Shawcross a letter, who in turn sent it to TonyTony has so much respect for John Douglas and this is one of his most prized possessions. Mr Douglas' letter is handwritten and signed by him. It's on FBI stationary with the FBI Gold Badge on the top. Tony and Al are going to cover what he asked of Shawcross and Art's response that he shared in a couple of letters.Tony will also share the details of the Dorothy Keeler murder. Arthur Shawcross shared details of this murder and explains in graphic detail why and how he killed Dorothy. In the end you will find out why they have named this “The Case of the Missing Head”

The Mask Of Sanity, is a great term for what these killers use. Think about it, most all of them wore some type of mask,Ted Bundy, Ken Bianchi, Randy Kraft, John Wayne Gacy, Dorothea Puente, Wayne Elmer Henley and the list goes on including our season's subject Arthur John Shawcross. Tony will describe a visit with Arthur Shawcross and how his Mask of sanity gradually came off over the two days they spent with him.Tony and Al will share actual stories that were told to them in person by Shawcross. The mask totally comes off as Tony describes Art's story about eating a victims vagina raw. The details of the death of Shawcross' second Rochester victim Anna Marie Steffen will be shared exactly as Shawcross narrated them in a letter to Tony. 

Tony points out that all the killers that he deals with are  sociopaths and narcissistic, but Arthur John Shawcross is without a doubt the most arrogant killer that I've ever dealt with over the past 16 years.Tony and Al share several of the stories that Arthur wrote about in his letters that show his extreme narcissistic tendencies.Shawcross answers some of Tony's questions about eating human flesh among other atrocities that he committed.The episode ends with Shawcross writing an exact narration of how he murdered his first Rochester victim Dorothy Blackburn. It is both graphic and disgusting. 

The story you are about to hear is taken from Art's personal book that he wrote for Tony; “Growing Up In The House of Sin” or as we like to call it “The Making of a Serial Killer.” This story is a classic case of nurturing, a primer, if you will, on how to create one fucked up child and turn him into an animal. Art's family and then the military did one hell of a job creating the monster that Arthur John Shawcross became.Then they turned him loose to walk among us. This is the story of his road to hell, as told by Shawcross himself.  The information we're going to present today is uncomfortable.  It's a subject that is both uncomfortable to talk about and uncomfortable to hear. We're talking about incest, incest between a mother and son and incest between a brother and his sisters. This is the shocking story of Art Shawcross' childhood as told by him. These are the building blocks of who he was to become as they began to be assembled at an early age.

Tony's first mailing went out to over 40 killers all over the country, and the very first letter that came in was from Arthur John Shawcross, Alias “The Genesee River Killer”Tony only knew Art for approximately 2 years, but during that short period he opened himself up in ways Tony never imagined. This season Tony will share the story exactly as Shawcross told it.  Here's a small sample of what Tony will share this season:Art wrote a detailed account of his Early Years and his time in Vietnam. (84 pages) titled “Growing Up in the House Of Sin” It could easily have been titled “The Making of a Serial Killer”. Art sent Over 100 Letters in less than two years detailing Prison life, his personal attitudes about other prisoners, woman, pen pals, collectors, his personal recipes, sex, and murder.Art sent Tony a handwritten letter from The Manhunter himself FBI profiler John Douglas along with his business card that he had sent to Art. Tony will share a letter Art sent to him with a letter he received from Keith Jesperson the Happy Face Killer. He calls him a fucking maggot!Shawcross agreed to describe his killings. Art said he had been asked many times but always said no. He describes in detail each murder. Phone conversations that have never been heard by anyone but the family. The calls will give you an idea of his narcissism and views on people and life in general.  Tony and Al's descriptions of the prison visits they had with ArthurPersonal Writings, poetry and Art workShawcross tells Tony in his last letter before he died that he has given Tony what no one else has. Tony and Al will once again get you as close to a serial killer as you ever want to be. 

Arthur John Shawcross, Genesee River Killer, was born on June 6th, 1945 and died on November 10th, 2008. And his life consisted of multiple jail sentences and years on parole, and far too many lives lost. Today we talk about a truly horrible man… Stay safe out there.
