This week on the main feed, Nick and Les head to Georgia to unpack the twisty new Netflix limited series His & Hers. We discuss the electric chemistry between Tessa Thompson and Jon Bernthal and try to figure out who we can actually trust when everyone is a suspect. For our TV Diaries, we share the other gems we have been binging lately. Then, we top it all off with our favorite part of the week: Dessert. We are returning to the wasteland for more Fallout on Amazon Prime. Can the Ghoul survive his fall? Will Lucy kill her Dad? We are hooked on this show! Spoilers! If you have not finished 'His & Hers' and you don't like spoilers - come back when you finish! Big fan of Jon Bernthal's horrible Southern accent BTW.
Send us a textThis week we take a deep dive into Netflix. We review Train Dreams and The Rip starring Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. We also give our reviews for Netflix newest drama short series "His & Hers" starring Jon Bernthal and Tessa Thompson. We also do a short recap of the 2026 Golden Globes.
His & Hers might be the first hit of 2026. The Netflix psychological thriller stars Tessa Thompson and Jon Bernthal. This is a nice whodunit story that ends in a what seems to be a polarizing twist. But before we get there, we talk about HBO's Euphoria season 3 trailer then get into Golden Globes.
In this episode of All2ReelToo's Based on a True Story Review series, we dive headfirst into the wild, outrageous, and unbelievable real-life chaos of The Wolf of Wall Street (2013). We explore the meteoric rise and disastrous fall of Jordan Belfort, a stockbroker who skyrocketed to wealth, excess, and notoriety—only to crash hard under the weight of crime, corruption, and federal investigation. Featuring powerhouse performances from Leonardo DiCaprio (Jordan Belfort), Jonah Hill (Donnie Azoff), Margot Robbie (Naomi Lapaglia), Matthew McConaughey (Mark Hanna), Kyle Chandler (Agent Denham), Rob Reiner, Jon Bernthal, Jon Favreau, Jean Dujardin, Joanna Lumley, Cristin Milioti, and many more—this episode breaks down the madness behind the money, the mayhem, and the movie. #WolfOfWallStreet #JordanBelfort #BasedOnATrueStory #Scorsese #LeonardoDiCaprio #MovieReview #PodcastLife #All2ReelToo #FilmDiscussion #TrueCrimeFilms #CinemaChat #MargotRobbie #JonahHill #MovieFans #PodcastEpisode Listen now: all2reeltoo.com
Nick catches up with Dan Fienberg from The Hollywood Reporter to break down the Golden Globe Awards while they are still fresh. They talk through the winners and losers, how the broadcast actually played, and what worked and didn't with host Nikki Glaser. It's a straight-shooting reaction to an awards night that gave everyone plenty to argue about. Dan also weighs in on a few new things worth watching, including the Amazon series The Night Manager, the drama His and Hers starring Tom Hiddleston, Tessa Thompson, and Jon Bernthal, and a new documentary centered on Chevy Chase. The reviews are thoughtful and honest, with the kind of context only a longtime critic brings. Things take a sharp turn into chaos when Esmeralda Leon joins in and British bon vivant and game show tormentor Slap Slapply returns. Nick and Esma get thrown into another round of 80s and 90s trivia madness, and the results are as ridiculous and entertaining as you would hope. [Ep 420]

In this episode, we break down FURY (2014) — David Ayer's brutal and unflinching World War II film. We dive into the intense performances led by Brad Pitt, the claustrophobic tank setting, and how the movie strips war down to survival, brotherhood, and moral compromise. We analyze the psychology of the crew, the realism of the combat, and why Fury refuses to glorify violence. From its grim tone to its unforgettable final stand, this is a war movie that stays with you long after it ends. There's a specific perverse pleasure in watching a murder mystery show that knows exactly when to let you feel confident and exactly when to pull that confidence out from under you. Netflix's “His & Hers” does that trick over and over again. You think you've got a handle on it. You start building your little internal conspiracy corkboard. Then it quietly slides one detail out of place, and suddenly the whole picture looks different. The series follows Anna (Tessa Thompson), a once‑prominent journalist who returns to her hometown just as a murder investigation begins to unravel long‑buried secrets. Told through competing points of view between Anna and her estranged husband, Jack Harper (Jon Bernthal), the show builds its tension around who controls the narrative, and what happens when truth becomes a weapon rather than a destination. The ensemble cast also includes Jon Bernthal, Pablo Schreiber, Marin Ireland, Sunita Mani, and more.
We found a romcom to rival When Harry Met Sally (maybe). In the first episode of Weekend Watch for 2026, Tina Burke gushes over this book adaptation. With a gorgeous cast, great writing and steamy scenes, we think it deserved a cinematic release. Plus, Em is losing her head over a musical thats in cinemas. Recorded in the same style as Hamilton, its the perfect way to get your theatre hit without the price tag. Don't let the fact that its a musical discourage you, this show is basically a Spice Girls concert. And a new limited series has Laura hooked. Starring Tessa Thompson and Jon Bernthal, this thriller is full of twists and turns. No spoilers, but Em is pretty sure she knows how it ends. In this classic April 2021 conversation, Independent Americans host Paul Rieckhoff sits down with actor Jon Bernthal for a raw, unfiltered look at America at a breaking point—through the eyes of a storyteller who has spent years playing warriors, cops and complicated men on the edge. They dig into service, violence, fatherhood, justice and what it really means to “have someone's back” when the cameras are off and the country is in crisis. Bernthal and Rieckhoff get real about the distance between Hollywood's image of war and the lived experience of veterans and military families, and why listening to people who have carried the weight is more urgent than ever. They talk about policing, accountability and communities that feel both over‑policed and abandoned—and how to hold two hard truths at once without hiding behind a party jersey. This episode is independent, unapologetically patriotic and fully bullshit‑free—two dads, both committed to service, wrestling with what we owe our kids, our neighbors and our country in the middle of a pandemic, political extremism and cultural chaos. If you are tired of hot takes and partisan spin, this is a powerful, human conversation you will feel long after it ends. This week on Forgotten Cinema, the Mikes roll into WWII with "Fury" (2014), David Ayer's gritty tank drama starring Brad Pitt, Shia LaBeouf, Logan Lerman, Michael Peña, and Jon Bernthal.Mike Butler came into this rewatch with a new perspective, after not liking the film too much on his first viewing. He found a lot more to appreciate this time around, especially in a tense, uncomfortable dinner scene that he gushes about in the episode. Both he and Mike Field agree that the performances are excellent across the board, giving weight to the film's depiction of life and death inside a WWII Sherman tank. That said, the Mikes still have issues with some of the logic gaps in the climactic battle, and they can't ignore the stories of how the set was run behind the scenes. Still, "Fury" remains a gripping war film that offers intensity, strong character work, and a perspective on WWII worth revisiting. What's your favorite WWII film or gritty war film from another time period? Let us know!

Episode 56 – Review: The Accountant 2 (2025)Back in 2016, Ben Affleck surprised a lot of people with "The Accountant", a sleek, mysterious action thriller where he played Christian Wolff, a math savant with deadly skills. That film, written by Ozark series creator Bill Dubuque, had an incredible cast (John Lithgow, J.K. Simmons, Jon Bernthal, Anna Kendrick, Jean Smart) and a vibe that stuck with people. For years, a sequel was teased, and now, nearly a decade later, it's finally here. The Accountant 2 makes the rare move of actually improving on the original. Director Gavin O'Connor returns, and Affleck is back as Wolff, joined again by Cynthia Addai Robinson and Jon Bernthal. Newcomer Daniela Pineda (playing Lena) is a total standout. One change this time around: the character of Justine (Christian's mysterious associate) is now played by Allison Robinson, taking over voice and on screen duties from Allison Wright. And it works. While the first movie had a haunting score by Mark Isham, this sequel switches gears with a fresh and impressive score by Bryce Dessner. The vibe is a little different, but it still pulls you into Wolff's world. There's a planned third film to complete the trilogy, and both O'Connor and Affleck have hinted at wanting Anna Kendrick back for that one. Fingers crossed."The Accountant 2" is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video. We've got more episodes, reviews, and recommendations coming your way. If you're enjoying the show, please leave a review, it really helps the podcast. Thanks for listening, and enjoy the movie.Correction: In the audio, the character of Lena is mistakenly said to be played by Daniela Melchior. The role is actually played by Daniela Pineda.

Welcome to Multiverse News, Your source for Information about all your favorite fictional universesIt's a big week for Marvel news! First up, Jon Bernthal has joined the cast of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, as his take on The Punisher makes the transition from Marvel Television to the big screen. He joins newcomer Sadie Sink, alongside Zendaya and Jacob Batalon who were also confirmed to be returning as MJ and Ned, respectively. Elsewhere, on Wednesday Disney announced that Marvel Studios is scheduled to release an untitled film slated for December 15, 2028, which if holds true, would be the studio's fourth theatrical offering for that year. In Variety's article on said possible fourth 2028 Marvel Studios film, the writer suggested that Thunderbolts* director Jake Schreier has gone from being in talks, to officially tapped as the director for the upcoming X-Men film. Fresh details on the recently cast Clayface film from DC Studios co-head James Gunn said the film would be R-rated during his appearance on the DC Studios Showcase Official Podcast. "It's just a great horror movie that is a great, smart, fun horror movie which is in a genre that I happen to love, which is body horror," he said; continuing with, "It's rated R… It's not anything now because the MPA has to watch it, but it's most likely rated R. It's pretty intense." In other DCU news, box office tracking for Superman via the National Research Group (NRG) has the film projected to open between $125 and $145 million domestically, with more conservative estimates ranging between $90 and $125 million. The fledgling DCU certainly seems to be living up to its Gods and Monsters thematic moniker. It was a story of highs and lows at the box office this weekend, with the newcomers 28 Years Later and Pixar's Elio unable to dethrone Dreamworks' live action How To Train Your Dragon remake, which passed $358 million at the global box office in just two weeks. Although both new films bowed to the reigning champ, the narrative is far more devastating for Pixar and Elio; despite positive critical reviews, the celebrated animation studio's latest feature struggled to muster even a meager $35 million globally; a record low and troubling sign concerning the performance, or lack thereof, for original films at Pixar. Danny Boyles' legacy horror sequel 28 Years Later fared far better, debuting to $30 million both domestically and internationally, for a $60 million total haulMarvel Comics has announced Spider-Man '94, a four issue limited comic run that will close the cliffhanger left by Spider-Man The Animated Series from its final episode in 1998. The series is written by long-time Spidey veteran and a writer on the original animated series, J.M. DeMatteis, with art by Jim Towe. Russell Crowe is boarding at Amazon MGM Studios and United Artists' Highlander in the Ramirez mentor role made famous by Sean Connery in the original 1986 movie. He joins Henry Cavill who is playing the lead role. AMC has released a teaser trailer for season 3 of Walking Dead spin off Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon and announced that the series will premiere on September 7. James Bobin, director of The Muppets, is in talks to helm Netflix's Dragon's Lair, based on the classic 1980s arcade game, per The Hollywood Reporter. Ryan Reynolds, originally set to star, but no longer, is producing alongside Roy Lee, Trevor Engelson, and game creators Don Bluth, Gary Goldman, and Jon Pomeroy.Warner Bros. Pictures has released a new trailer for ‘Weapons' written and directed by Zach Cregger which offers more eerie footage from the film. It's a big week for fans of Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding franchise; Death Stranding 2: On the Beach releases this week on June 26, for the Playstation 5 exclusively. Kojima Productions also announced an animated feature film being written by Raised by Wolves‘ Aaron Guzikowski; this is in addition to the previously announced live action Death Stranding film adaptation in development.

Frank, Jonathan, and Squeaks explore why Marvel continues to dominate over DC in the video game industry and discuss potential strategies for DC's gaming revival. Frank gives an insightful review of Pixar's Elio, highlighting its originality and emotional storytelling. The hosts also debate the ideal director for the next James Bond film, speculate on the future of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, and analyze Jon Bernthal's return as Punisher in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Plus, catch some entertaining moments, including Squeaks' memorable appearance in a Donkey Kong onesie! Timestamps and Topics: 00:00: Squeaks' Donkey Kong Onesie and Halloween Plans 01:26: Choosing Between Denis Villeneuve and Edgar Wright for Next Bond Film 06:13: Jon Bernthal Returns as Punisher in Spider-Man: Brand New Day 13:58: Russell Crowe Joins Henry Cavill in Highlander Reboot 18:31: Blumhouse Acquires the Saw Franchise 23:24: Upcoming Pixar Projects: Hoopers, Gato, and Toy Story 5 28:01: Final Season Announcement for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds 34:48: Pixar's Elio Movie Review and Analysis 43:14: Marvel vs DC Gaming: How Marvel Wins and DC's Path Forward Key Takeaways: Marvel's success in gaming is driven by varied partnerships, genre diversity, and risk-taking. DC Gaming relies too heavily on Batman games; diversification is essential. Pixar's Elio delivers a fresh, emotionally rich story with strong visuals. Strategic director choices for the James Bond franchise are critical for appealing to newer audiences. Upcoming Marvel games (Wolverine, Iron Man, Marvel Tokken) maintain excitement, while DC needs fresh ideas. Memorable Quotes: “Marvel isn't afraid to experiment; DC needs to step outside the Batman box.” “It's time to engage a younger audience—fresh ideas are essential for iconic franchises.” “Superman deserves gameplay mechanics as exciting and satisfying as Spider-Man's web-swinging.” Call to Action: Enjoy the conversation? “I want real kids fighting each other!” - Chris, on the flashbacks On this week's episode, we're chatting about the nowhere-near-as-good-as-its-sequel assassin film, The Accountant. Couldn't we have done this whole thing without all the flashbacks to them as kids? Did we need the Treasury Department cold on the Accountant's trail the whole movie? Didn't everyone want to yell, ‘No Touching,' whenever we see Jeffrey Tambor's character in prison? And how creepy is it that Ben draws faces on all those melons he's going to shoot? PLUS: Luke Skywalker's lightsaber? Really? The Accountant stars Ben Affleck, Anna Kendrick, J.K. Simmons, Jeffrey Tambor, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, John Lithgow, Jean Smart, and Jon Bernthal as Brax; directed by Gavin O'Connor.
