Whilst listening take time to read our interview with LeeDee E to see what got her started on her journey. Welcome to Geecast LeeDee E!! Hows things? Are you ready to tear us a new one with your mix?! Hi im really well thankyou. Hope your well too    Can you tell us a little bit about yourself. SL (MSN style!) Im missing the A (from ASL)  as readers know you should never ask a lady her age! Im from hull  I've been a raver since 1994 (yes im old ) but im still young at heart. I run my own business its a food trailer called humberscran.    Can you tell us about your first exposure to the rave scene.  Was it through friends, family etc When  my elder brother left home. I was 15 years old. he left a cassette tape in his bedroom and I played it to see what it was. It said fantazia on it. I could not stop listening to this tape. I used to take it everywhere with me and make my friends play it in their house or in their car . Then 1 day a friend who was a little older said to me do u want to come to a rave. I said yeah straight away, not even worried about being underage. I just wanted to go so much. So my friend took me and some others to my very first rave.    Can you remember your first event that you attended? The first rave i ever went to was pleasuredome at fantasy Island Skegness    At some point you then decided Djing was of interest.  Can you talk us through how you became interested in this side of things? I used to go round to a friends house and watch them mix. I would watch them and see how good it made them feel when they was mixing. I thought I'd like to learn how to mix and get that feeling too. I told them I was gonna be a dj and they laughed. They said I'd never be a dj.  So the challenge was accepted. I bought some turntables  and some vinyl in November 2011 and I practiced.   A little every day then 6 months later I got my first booking.   Can you remember the first record you bought? And do you still have it? The first 12inch record i bought was pump up the jam by Technotronic. I think its still at my parents.   I guess you then decided to take things up a notch and wanted to play out at parties.  Can you remember your first gig? Can you talk us through it? (were, when, line up.. tracks played etc.) My first gig was at a night in Selby called homegrown. I was soooo nervous I felt sick. I nearly turned around half way there as I felt that nervous. My friends reassured me that it would ok. I was on first set of the night. I walked in and went behind the decks and took out my first record. My hands was shaking so when I put the needle on it didn't go down lightly at all my body didn't stop shaking all the way through my set. The ravers was loving it. They wasn't many female djs in the Yorkshire rave scene, so I think people buzzed of the fact I was a female dj that played vinyl.    Who were your influences when you first started out Djing?   dj T.D.K  he played hardstyle and every tune he played was a banger  Also dj vorny (r.i p) the was he mixed  i absolutely loved.      Is there a record that you ALWAYS have in the BAG (USB Stick?) that always does the business?   There are so many that I could chose but if I had to pick one id say shizzle my dizzle my dj duro and the prophet always goes down well and gets everyone stomping    Do you still play the same style as back then? How has your sound evolved over time? I still play Dutch and Italian hardstyle as its my passion and what I love. I've thought about venturing off to harder styles like gabber and raw style but never got round to it. Im loving this new hard techno though so that is definitely a genre I will be mixing very soon    Things have changed loads since most of us started out.  Whats been the 1 bad thing & 1 good thing thats happened in recent years to the scene? The scene changes all the time. Id say the only bad things is there are too many events on these days which u think wouldn't be  a bad thing but it actually is as people can't afford to attend them all so you end up having to miss out on some. Only other moan is events charging loads for a can or larger /cider £7.50 it was at one event, for not even a pint . That's just wrong. The good thing is the Internet. Makes it a lot easier to find out where and when events are.   Phones at raves.... yes or no?! People moan about phones quite a lot. Im not bothered either way. If we had camera phones in the 90s we probably would of used them. Mine phone doesn't come out muxh as I'm usually having that much of a good time I forget to get my phone out     Whats been your favourite event to play at upto now? Uprising Halloween 2022 I got to play on the main stage. This for my was a massive booking as if raved at uprising since the early 90s    CDJs VS Digital Vs Vinyl....... which do you prefer? Mixing on vinyl is my preference but most clubs only have CDJs or contrillers so I mainly mix digitally now.   What equipment do you use at home? I have a pair of pioneer cdjs and a pioneer 600 mixer and a pair of technics mrk 5 gs turntables.   Whats the scene like in your local area? Any good events we should be aware of? Hull as had a few local nights over the years. At the moment we have, humbervibe, eutopia, stompin and the experiance.  these are all multi genre events We have a techno  event  called pure techno and on the 5th of July we have a new night  called techno noise. This is at piper club on Newland avenue.    Have you started to produce you own tracks recently or have plans to?  Can you promote any to us? Unfortunately I dont produce my own music. I really haven't got the time to get into that. Ill leave that to the professionals    Which brings us to now! can you talk us through your mix please? This mix is a mixture of Italian and Dutch hardstyle. I've tried to play a variety of different hardstyle for the listeners    Thank you so much for your mix and interview LeeDee E!!   Have you got any shouts out that you would like to give!! Shout out to my  best friends that always support me liam Dixon, Danny Nolan My dynamix crew  My uprising crew  The Yorkshire raving crew  My grimsby crew chelsie, becky, Amanda, Mel  My little sister zoey  Cheers!!
