The film follows a basic premise very well, boy killed in accident, vengeful father seeks out witch, witch summons evil demon to kill teens responsible, father regrets his decision, father vs monster... This one is a banger (well one of us thinks that) the other two praise practical effects but take issues with the overall plot and it's directions. There are always upcoming sequels to talk about. Tubi has been kicking ass and taking names. But for all the awesome older content on the channel, people tend to forget that it does have original programming. Last year's R.L. Stine's Pumpkinhead was successful enough to have warranted a sequel. Did Tubi stumble on a Halloween franchise? Jennifer's Body is one of the most interesting movies of the 21st century. Released during the height of Megan Fox's popularity, the marketing centered around her and a possible lebsian plotline. Naturally, this did not attract a female audience who discovered the movie after the fact. Now regarded as a feminist cult classic, a sequel seems to be on the way. It has been a while since we have talked about cryptids. The fact of the matter is, they just are not as popular as they used to be. So, we were excited to watch a movie called The Yeti. The fantastic opening got us even more excited. Unfortunately, the film was not able to follow through. The Yeti is filled with flamboyant personalities, some good gore, and decent creature effects. But in between all of this, there is a lot of talking. It is not bad, but it is as if the movie is trying to be way more serious than it needs to be. Is that enough reason to pass on it, though? Episode 245 is focused on two sequels from the early 90's. We start off with 1993's "Pumpkinhead 2" where they bring back the monster from Stan Winston's original movie for a whole new story of small-town revenge. It's not as good as the original, but it has enough cheesy fun torecommend it. We follow that with "Gate 2" from 1990, which is a much more successful follow-up. Picking up where the first film left off, the story follows a young wannabe warlock who gets involved in all sorts of black magic.
