We tried something new for this episode of the B&H Photography Podcast—we ventured into the B&H SuperStore to interview camera shoppers, fans of the podcast, and attendees of the Panasonic Lumix Day Event. We coordinated with our marketing team and organized a sweepstakes to give away a Lumix DMC-GX85 Mirrorless camera with a 12-32mm lens and a 45-150mm lens. We became acquainted with our audience a bit better by asking people two simple questions and chatting with them about photography. The first question was: “Which is the favorite photo you have ever taken?” and the second question was, “How would winning a GX85 change your photography?” The answers were as varied and entertaining as one would expect, and we include several of these short conversations in this episode. When we finished our recordings, we randomly picked a winner of the sweepstakes, and the winner will also be announced toward the end of the show. Because we were recording as part of the Lumix Day event, several interesting photographers and videographers, each a Lumix ambassador, were speaking at the B&H Event Space. After their talks, they joined us for a brief chat, and we include these conversations with documentary filmmaker Griffin Hammond, lifestyle photographer Jeff Carpenter and wedding and travel photographer William Innes. Each brings insight to their respective disciplines, and the engagement with shoppers and fans is not to be missed. Join us for this fast-paced and entertaining episode. I first became aware of today’s guest when I heard him on a recent episode of Griffin Hammond and Nick Bodmer’s Hey Indie Filmmakers podcast. It seems that John Luna edits many of those podcasts and hearing him speak got me interested in what he might be doing as a filmmaker. When I looked him up on Youtube I knew I had to talk to him.Check out John's work at his YouTube Channel. You won't be disappointed.

He says, “I watched it last night still amazing! I love that doc.” It’s free on Amazon Prime.Kasey asked about music libraries. Episode 47 discusses the topic in-depth. Griffin Hammond made a 33-minute documentary about Sriracha that he self-distributed and made money. That's right. Real money. We follow his journey to success from Facebook and Kickstarter all the way to Amazon Prime.
Rich can’t make this podcast (boo) so i thought lets get someone in to talk about Panasonic cameras, and who better to make his first appearance on the show than the original Indie Filmmaker, and ambassador to the GH5, Griffin Hammond. In this podcast we talk about the GH5 announcement and how the specs compare to other cameras. Also, with my dabbling into documentaries, i thought it prudent to talk to Griffin about his documentary that he shot about three years ago called Sriracha. What challenges he face and how he overcame them. Its an interesting conversation that i would recommend any documentary filmmaker listen to.
