Funnel building is a great skill to have, that doesn't take a long time to learn. And lots of businesses need funnels that convert well. What makes it even sweeter though is that all of the “secret” strategies are now available for anyone to swipe and deploy.
Today I'm talking with David Peter Allen, journalist, intellectual property lawyer and all-around public transit advocate. David has worked for decades as an advocate for rail transportation, serving on boards, councils and committees. For two decades, he chaired the Lackawanna Coalition, an independent non-profit organization that advocates for better service for New Jersey riders. His expertise is widely recognized. He has spoken and testified at hearings, moderated panels and written extensively on transit issues for much of the last decade and a half and currently for Railway Age. Not one to stop at writing and talking, David has ridden the entire Amtrak system and about 300 transit providers in the U.S. and in Canada. Overall pre-pandemic, he thinks he has probably ridden every single system in the contiguous 48 and then some. This is a passionate conversation. Listen in to learn about the current state of transit in the U.S. If you'd like to join me in my quest to rethink real estate, there are two simple things you can do. I realized that it's pretty difficult to schedule podcast interviews when you have a new baby in the house with a somewhat unpredictable nap schedule, and I decided I wasn't going to cut into family time.COURSES FOR TEACHERS I'VE BEEN CREATINGDuring the times the little one napped, I decided to create a new course called Create Successful Videos for Distance Learning. It's a 1-hour self-paced course to help teachers who need to create video lessons but aren't sure where to start.Additionally, I spent time making changes to my classroom economy. Since our school is completely remote until at least mid-October, I had to come up with a whole new list of classroom jobsways that students could spend their classroom moneyways they could earn supplemental money.I've added all of those resources to my course How to Teach Kids About Money. That two-hour course was originally created with a normal classroom environment in mind, but many of the things still apply to a virtual classroom economy.PLACES I'M PUTTING OUT THE MOST CONTENTOnce I completed the courses, I decided to focus my efforts on my Instagram and YouTube channels. On my Instagram channel, I've been posting stories each school day about how I'm approaching that day of distance learning, often sharing tech tips along the way.On my YouTube channel, I've been creating videos all about distance learning technology and lesson ideas.PUSHING PAUSE ON THE PODCASTWith all of that going on, something had to give so I decided to pause the podcast until further notice.CONNECT WITH MEI'd love to hear how things are going with you and how I could help; what kind of content would be beneficial for you right now?Email | thom@thomgibson.comInstagram | @gibsoneducationYouTube | /gibsoneduTwitter | @gibsoneduWebsite | thomgibson.com'Create Successful Videos for Distance Learning' course | thomgibson.com/distancelearning'How to Teach Kids About Money' course | thomgibson.com/classroomeconomyTeamEdu Newsletter | thomgibson.com/newsletter
I find that I'm so busy with clients and podcast interviews with other people that I forget to tell people what I've been up to, what my thoughts are and share anything I think you'll value. In this episode I am talking about messages from businesses to customers about making them feel safe and which build trust. I then go on to talk about PRFest and a couple of challenges I faced, back in June, and how I approached overcoming the challenges to ensure a more positive outcome.I mention the two upcoming events about diversity and inclusion in PR, both free to attend, more info here, plus the launch of the DRIVEN Manifesto, which is on 5th August. A framework for leaders and individuals to use in their businesses to be more diverse, inclusive and equal. Finally, I talk about the "PRs in Lockdown" video I'm creating. I've already got 11 PR pros to submit their challenges and how they overcame them. More info here. Please get in touch if you'd like to have more information or get involved in anything. laura@aura-pr.com

Episode 6 is sponsored by SiteGround, you can visit my affiliate link at https://www.siteground.com/go/jasonofflorida Segment 1: What I've Been Into Recently Launched my first amazon affiliate site. It’s a brand new domain that I think last podcast I was working on launching. A quick overview It’s a wordpress website on a geodomain. One of the first ones I hand-registered as a DI (but realized pretty quickly it wasn’t a great domain for reselling it) Amazon affiliate, which was actually very easy to setup. I may write an article about it later – contact me if this would be useful to you and I’ll put one together. Currently has 10 informational articles which took me ~6 hours each to write myself, including inserting all the ads. The articles are based on the keyword golden ration popularized by Doug Cunnington. You can watch his youtube here for more information: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wXuI4H6flxc. Traffic is very minimal, and it’s not showing up in first few pages of google yet, and I’ve had only 1 search click since launching on 12/18. This is a process I think will take at least a year to see if it’s going to work, I’ll keep everyone updated. I spent the holidays in my hometown in Kentucky, with just a mixed-bag of emotions. Domain investing Finally got planfully.com and islandpack.com listed Changed all of my domain names to price upon request –here's my article where I examined 7 comparisons between buy-it-now versus price-upon-request. domain prices are bonkers right now at auction websites. Considered buying a few .city domains. Working on two websites for customers. Working on a website for the local youth league to support their 5k Added terms/conditions, privacy and cookie policy to my website over the holidays which has been on my wish list for a bit. I lost a domain name! Segment 2: names con Newcomer and pro tracks you can select from (I’m going with the newb one) Domain economic forum, where they’re pushing for more transparency. Domain Auction - click here for a list of current domains that will be auctioned. Segment 3: sell me your domains Quite frankly, I’m disgusted at the pricing on auction sites, domain names seem overpriced. I’m going to start pursuing more private purchases. If you have a domain you’d like to sell, reach out to me.

Tales of the Texas Rangers, a western adventure old-time radio drama, premiered on July 8, 1950, on the NBC radio network and remained on the air through September 14, 1952. Movie star Joel McCrea starred as Texas Ranger Jayce Pearson, who used the latest scientific techniques to identify the criminals and his faithful horse, Charcoal, to track them down. The shows were reenactments of actual Texas Ranger cases. The series was produced and directed by Stacy Keach, Sr., and was sponsored for part of its run by Wheaties. Captain Manuel T. "Lone Wolf" Gonzaullas, a Ranger for 30 years and who was said to have killed 31 men during his career, served as consultant for the series. The series was adapted for television from 1955 to 1957. During the opening and closing credits of the TV show, the actors would march toward the camera and sing the theme song, "We are the Texas Rangers", to the tune of "The Eyes of Texas Are Upon You", which is also the tune of "I've Been Working on the Railroad".
