We are so excited to present the 1st Annual Comic Book Yeti ICE or Indy Comics Excellence Awards. Joining Jimmy and Byron are two very special guests, Fellhound and Grant Stoye, who help us break down the nominees chosen by the CBY editing staff and our two guest hosts. Unlike most award shows, there is no one winner. All nominees are considered equal as creativity isn't a contest and we want to recognize some of the amazing projects in 2022 without a ranking system. Thanks for listening. Welcome to ICEBREAKERS, the official podcast of the 2018 ICE Awards, celebrating the best of Atlantic Canadian creativity! Join Sarah Densmore, Account Executive for Cossette, and special guest host, local copywriter and actor, Adrian Comeau, as they interview the brightest creative minds in the region. On our final episode of this year’s series, we are discussing equal representation in pop culture with Emma Paulson and Kate MacDonald of The Magic Project. The Magic Project is a nonprofit organization that aims to bring the voices and experiences of marginalized communities to the forefront of social media and community discussion using art and photography as the vehicle to do so. The ultimate goal is to raise awareness of social justice issues. Starting with a focus on Black Canadians with two powerful photoshoots entitled “Black Girls are Magic” and “Black Kings are Magic,” Emma and Kate began to showcase artwork as a form of activism in divisive times. The Magic Project continues to expand their mission to advocate for all marginalized groups, including LGBTQ, disabled, mental health patients, homeless, and underrepresented communities.
