Noah Taggart graduated with Web Development Cohort 54. Growing up, much to my parents chagrin, I was a tinkerer. I would find electronics around the house and disassemble/reassemble them. Sometimes, even successfully! This evolved into working more with software after I built my first pc sometime in middle school. Even though I had never been a technology professional, I always tried to keep up with it. I would always be looking for the best software I could use to help my students. After working for 10+ years as a music teacher, I felt the call to pursue my passion of technology. I searched for which program produces the most successful students and discovered Nashville Software School. I have not only learned how to code while here, I completely reshaped how I think. I see the world more analytically than I did before. When I see some applications, for example, I try to figure out the data structure/flow for how that application is constructed. I've enjoyed every day of learning at NSS and hope to continue that feeling as a junior software developer in the Nashville area.

We all strive to write an ideal code - easily readable, functional, and clean. We use many tools to achieve this. However, we often forget why we need our code to be tidy. Today we are talking with Samuel Taggart, President of GDevCon N.A. and the owner of SAS Workshops. Sam is a natural teacher, and he enjoys sharing what he learned with others. We talk with Sam about the tools and methods that make our code clean - refactoring, retrospectives, and style guides. While they are all meant to keep us and our code in check, we forget that these tools and methods also need to be under control. Sam reminds us of a crucial question that will help us do just that. When you finish listening to the episode, connect with Sam on LinkedIn and Twitter and visit the SAS Workshops website at www.sasworkshops.com. Mike Taggart of Taggart Fund Intelligence -- executive director of the Active Investment Company Alliance -- reviews the first-quarter results for closed-end funds, noting that discounts widened out during a rough period for the market, reaching a crossroads where investors are trying to decide now if the discount has hit a level low enough to represent a good risk premium and a buying opportunity. Taggart also discusses interval funds, the focus of an upcoming AICA educational event, and how the growth in the space is giving investors interesting opportunities in alternatives.
In this episode, we continue to follow the lawsuit between a former Oregon Player, Brenner, versus the University of Oregon, the NCAA and former Oregon Football Coach, Willie Taggart. During the pandemic, the line between work life and home life got blurry. But that was already true for many people well before COVID-19 arrived. Tamara Taggart was a TV anchor in Canada for 28 years and had a really hard time drawing the line between what she did and who she is. It took suddenly losing that dream job to finally find her true self. This week's practice is about identity, defining yourself, and staying true to your purpose above all else. Gene and guest cohost Tim Swartz present award-winning photojournalist Shannon Taggart. Her book is: “SÉANCE: Spiritualist Ritual and the Search for Ectoplasm.” Taggart says that she first became aware of Spiritualism as a teenager, after her cousin received a message from a medium who revealed a startling detail about her grandfather's death that proved to be true. The book presents hundreds of original photographs, as well as historical imagery that attempts to capture spirits on film. Spiritualism's photographic past contains some of the most bizarre, absurd and uniquely unsettling images in the history of photography. Ms. Taggart's photographs have been exhibited and featured internationally, including within the publications TIME, New York Times Magazine, Discover, and Newsweek. Her work has been recognized by Nikon, Magnum Photos and the Inge Morath Foundation, American Photography, the International Photography Awards, and the Alexia Foundation for World Peace.
