Kiera premiered her piece “Wash” at Loyola Marymount University's student concert, which was chosen to be presented again at the American College Dance Association Gala in March of 2019. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance and a minor in education from LMU in December of 2019. She has had a solo performance on Canada's hit TV show The Next Step, as well as appearing on Make it Pop. Kiera has over 195k followers on TikTok where she discusses the effects oppressive structures have on our world, and the importance of uplifting marginalized voices. On this episode of Movement Guidance we sat down with Malachi Simmons! He is a freestyler, choreographer, teacher, and artistic director originally from Bermuda. In 2014 he graduated with his degree in Dance from Edge Hill University located in England. Following graduation he stayed in England for two years being a freelance dancer who worked with various dance companies and teaching dance to at-risk young adults. During this time he also started his non-profit, Island Mentality. Since moving to the U.S. he has become part of the immaBEAST dance company, is a company member with Cantinas Arts Foundation, and has worked with Chris Brown.
