Nelson and Morgan bust out their religious credentials as they tackle Hogwarts School Of Prayer and Miracle. Have you ever read Harry Potter and thought "My, my! This is an attack on my good Christian values!"? Well look no further, because today's fanfic is a Christian retelling of Harry Potter! It's Harry Potter without any of the stuff that made it fun! We'd like to add that this is of course all jokes. Neither of us have anything against religious folks... but we do have something against bad fanfiction! Check out us on Instagram: @wthreadpod. Feel free to shoot us a DM if there's any facfics you'd like us to take a look at! As always, thanks for listening and leaving good revoos!

It's Harry Potter and the Totally Normal Hangout and on this episode we welcomed Cassidy to Hogwarts and dive into chapters 6-10 of Chamber of Secrets where we get up close and personal with Kenneth Branagh's filmography. Like between Jamie, Emily and Cassidy, our Kenneth Branagh love/hate game is strong especially when it comes to his portrayal of Gilderoy Lockhart. We also try to figure out how someone like Lockhart can still get away with what he does, even in fiction, and how can Hermione who is smarter than this put up with him. Emily played HQ Trivia and won 30 whole cents. There was talk of Ghosts and Binn's History of Magic Class and again with the lesson planning and curriculum of Hogwarts and then we went to the afterdark section with a look at Madame Pomfrey fanfiction, Oh Poppy! Harry Potter! Harry Potter! Harry Potter! It's a film franchise unlike any other, transporting viewers into a magical world of wizards and monsters that ostensibly takes place in the modern day. We watched as its main cast grew up throughout the films before our very eyes. And together with the novels that it is based on, it captured the imagination of more than one generation. It's Harry Potter! Mike and Pete are joined by a panel of experts in this magical world, Courtney Anny (@courtneyanny), Bijaya (@ethnicninja), and Mollie (@MollieMM9), to discuss the first 3 films in the franchise: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Together they break down the movies, and ultimately decide...are they sacred? Of course, there might be a sketch or two... Interested in writing a sketch? We take submissions! It's Harry Potter, back for a third helping of myth, magic, teen angst, and lots and lots of chocolate! I walk thru the structure of the story, character motivations, and time travel theories. I wonder who needs a permission slip to go shopping but not to fly around in a thunderstorm. I ask the musical question "Why does any of this happen?" And I worry about illegal boggart abuse. I try to figure out the story-behind-the-story to understand what Lupin and Black are thinking and come up confused and bewildered. I wonder if there is a little homosexual subtext to go with the homosexual text. And I worry that Hermione, like Buckbeak, is going to be sentenced to death for striking a Malfoy.
