What if the random obsession you keep dismissing — the sourdough baking, the knitting, the gardening, the fantasy novels — isn't a distraction from your purpose, but a direct signal toward it? And what if the reason you keep squashing those pulls isn't because they're impractical, but because you've been trained to only value what can be immediately monetized?Kathryn digs into why so many gifted entrepreneurs dismiss the very things they're being called toward because they don't fit a business model, can't be packaged, or don't have an obvious through-line to income. She shares her own journey of following pulls that made no logical sense (astrology, Human Design, Gene Keys) before understanding what they were truly pointing toward, and why the greatest creators — from Warhol to Dalí — never set out to build a legacy. They just followed their obsessions.BY THE TIME YOU FINISH LISTENING TO THIS EPISODE, YOU'LL DISCOVER:Why the hits of inspiration and left-field interests popping up for you right now — the sourdough, the gardening, the herbalism, the painting — are likely your soul's gifts trying to come online, and how the habit of immediately asking "how do I monetize this?" is the exact mechanism that shuts the channel down before it can show you where it's actually leading. How Kathryn's experiential learning style — someone who graduated top of her master's program without asking a single question or being front-of-class, who traveled to a remote Philippine village to live her research rather than study it from a lab — reveals the bigger point that the way you're wired to learn, create, and show up is not a liability, and how the sourdough baker who masters their craft with no monetization plan may be five years ahead of the bread shortage they never saw coming.A reframe on consistency that has nothing to do with posting every day or showing up the same way all the time and everything to do with being in rhythm with how you're actually designed to move through seasons of go, slow, and pause, the same way a garden consistently does what it needs to do depending on the season rather than trying to bear fruit year-round.Why trying to force clarity on your creative direction or body of work — rolling on the metaphorical tennis ball until you've just irritated the knot further — is the thing preventing the insight from coming through, and how sitting in contemplation with what's arising (without rushing it to fit a package, a price point, or a five-step path) is where the real revelation lives. And while you're here, follow us on Instagram @creativelyowned for more daily inspiration on effortlessly attracting the most aligned clients without spending hours marketing your business or chasing clients. Sometimes the most useful wellness advice is simply paying attention to what you already reach for.In this episode of Wellness Junkies, Amy reflects on what it actually means to trust your own taste when it comes to beauty, skincare, and wellness. The conversation centers on choosing products based on lived experience rather than trends, and noticing which ones quietly earn their place in everyday routines. There is an ease to the way she talks about shopping, rooted in paying attention to what supports real life instead of chasing what is new.Skincare plays a central role, framed around ease, comfort, and how products feel over time. Amy explains why certain formulas stay in rotation and how her standards have shifted toward performance and simplicity. The emphasis stays clear and grounded. Fewer products that do their job well tend to support routines better than crowded shelves and big promises.Overall, the episode offers a steady reminder that wellness does not need to be complicated to be effective. Let your daily habits guide your choices, trust what you genuinely enjoy using, and allow your routines to evolve by letting go of what no longer fits.Episode Breakdown:00:00 A Real-Life Product Junkies Episode02:20 Favorite Beauty Products, Skincare, and Fashion Finds08:51 What I'm Watching and Reading Right NowShop this episode: You know we love to give you the best of the best in wellness products and resources to help you learnmore about our podcast topics. OCD is often misunderstood as being about cleanliness, checking, or perfectionism. In this episode, Dr. Taz sits down with therapist and author Melissa Mose, LMFT, to unpack why OCD is frequently misdiagnosed for over a decade and what's really happening beneath the surface of obsessions and compulsions. Melissa's book Internal Family Systems Therapy for OCD bridges compassionate parts-based work with proven science to offer a richer path to lasting change.Using clear science and compassionate explanations, this conversation explores how OCD hijacks the brain through a cycle of alarm and relief, why reassurance and family accommodation can quietly reinforce symptoms, and what actually works in treatment. Melissa breaks down why talk therapy alone often fails OCD, how Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) retrains the nervous system, and how Internal Family Systems (IFS) adds depth, self-compassion, and relational healing to recovery. In this hol+ conversation, Dr. Taz sits down with therapist, educator, and author Melissa Mose, LMFT, to unpack what OCD really is and why it often goes undiagnosed for over a decade. Melissa shares why OCD disguises itself as “just anxiety,” how well-meaning reassurance can quietly reinforce the disorder, and why many people spend years in talk therapy without real relief.Using clear science and compassionate language, this episode explores how OCD operates through a cycle of alarm and relief, why the brain learns to depend on compulsions, and how Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) helps retrain the nervous system. Melissa also explains how Internal Family Systems (IFS) adds a relational, self-compassionate layer to treatment, helping people work with their inner world instead of battling it.This conversation also looks at the bigger picture. OCD does not exist in isolation. Dr. Taz and Melissa explore how neuroinflammation, PANS and PANDAS, hormonal shifts, trauma, ADHD, eating disorders, and chronic stress can overlap with or intensify OCD symptoms. They discuss why intrusive thoughts can be disturbing and taboo, why intolerance of uncertainty sits at the core of OCD, and how relationships and intimacy are often quietly impacted. From shame and self-blame to clarity and support, this episode offers a grounded reframe of OCD as a treatable condition rooted in brain-body patterns, not personal failure. Whether you are seeking help for yourself, supporting someone you love, or trying to understand OCD beyond the stereotypes, this conversation replaces fear with understanding and helplessness with practical pathways forward.Dr. Taz and Melissa Mose, LMFT discuss: Why OCD often goes undiagnosed for 11 to 17 years How reassurance and family accommodation make OCD worse The obsession-compulsion cycle and why it gets reinforced Why talk therapy alone often fails OCD What ERP actually does to retrain the brain How Internal Family Systems supports compassion and healing The role of uncertainty intolerance in OCD How OCD affects families, partners, and intimacy Neuroinflammation, PANS, PANDAS, hormones, and symptom flares Why intrusive thoughts do not define who you areAbout Melissa Mose, LMFT Melissa Mose is a licensed marriage and family therapist, educator, and specialist in the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder. With over 30 years of clinical experience, she works with individuals and families navigating OCD and anxiety, and trains clinicians in evidence-based treatment approaches. Melissa integrates Exposure and Response Prevention with Internal Family Systems to support deep, sustainable change that goes beyond symptom management. Melissa is the author of Internal Family Systems Therapy for OCD: A Clinician's Guide, a resource designed to help therapists bring compassion, parts-based awareness, and relational healing into gold-standard OCD treatment.Stay Connected:Connect further to Hol+ at https://holplus.co/- Don't forget to like, subscribe, and hit the notification bell to stay updated on future episodes of hol+.Follow Melissa Mose, LMFT Learn more about Melissa's work: https://melissamosemft.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/melissamosemftFollow Dr. Taz on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/drtazmd/https://www.instagram.com/liveholplus/Subscribe to the audio podcast: https://holplus.transistor.fm/subscribeSubscribe to the video podcast: https://www.youtube.com/@DrTazMD/podcastsGet your copy of The Hormone Shift: Balance Your Body and Thrive Through Midlife and MenopauseHost & Production TeamHost: Dr. Taz; Produced by ClipGrowth.com (Producer: Pat Gostek)

Then they pull their favorite moments from this year's interviews. You'll hear coach Mario Fraoli explain why the marathon is where racing ends and insanity begins. Steve Magness on why running might be the healthiest cult you can join. Alex Hutchinson on the effort paradox, why we value things because they're hard, not in spite of it. L'exposition Giacometti / Marwan Obsessions à l'Institut Giacometti

Did Roz ever get in trouble at ET Canada for not liking certain shows or actors? Plus, the great holiday debate: Incandescent vs. LED Christmas lights—what's your pick? We'll also talk public washroom etiquette (do you judge someone who skips the soap?), and for a laugh, would you rather fart like a trumpet or burp like a mooing cow? Finally, we wrap things up with the ultimate cozy question: What's your favorite Christmas scent?

Cities and Memory - remixing the sounds of the world

"This piece starts with the original recording, which consists of lively, beautiful species. However, as we move forward new, unconventional sounds are introduced. I have been obsessing over sounds, in its raw state, without any acoustic characteristics of a space imbibed in it. I have used a lot of surface recordings done with contact mics. All these are recordings of vibrating surface, which are then EQ'd later to create specific musical chords to introduce a sense of musicality.  "For me, this reimagined piece is basically a journey, where the sense of space gets lost gradually as we move our ear from the space to the resonating surface of the space." Farm life in Kerala reimagined by Prabuddha Mukhopadhyay.

Houdini begins with Obsessions, a song built around a brutal bassline, analog synthesisers, and stark vocal mantras. It's a melting pot of darkwave and techno influences. "Obsessions, they come and go" is hypnotically repeated throughout the ordeal, resulting in a relentless, claustrophobic dance track.  Obsessions by Local Suicide will release as part of the Houdini EP as a limited 12" vinyl and digitally on the 21st November 2025.
