sent $$$ this week to Norcal Resist.norcalresist.orgHi, I’m changing things up a little over here. Since July 2020 I’ve sent weekly cash to an entity or person doing the work or in need of funds. Connecting it to the radio show has been a way for me to budget and redistribute money regularly and to share about where I was sending it so maybe you would too. Well, I did my taxes and turns out my budgeting was off. For now I’m just going to do a monthly sustainer with Norcal Resist at a more sustainable rate until I can get back to it. I’m giving some time to mutual aid projects, but I’ll try to do more. If you’re in a position to give money to people/groups, and you haven’t yet made a plan to do it on the regular, I urge you to figure it out.Love, HoshwaDOWNLOAD RECORDINGsubscribe to the podcast here: http://feeds.feedburner.com/5432fun(intro by omar)Major Murphy “Coming Around” Lafayette EPMore Eaze “the symphony” ConveyanceT-Rextasy “Coffee?” PrehysteriaTrue Blossom “Flu Punks” HeaterFauvely “Good News” WTLD home demosOrchid Mantis “lifted” yellow houseTurtlenecked “Riding Bikes Along The Springwater Corridor” Springtime In HellEmily A. Taraleigh and Leah talk with drummer/songwriter Ezra Lipp about his philosophy to life that has given him the courage to constantly evolve and shine his talents in multiple ways, as a session musician around the Bay Area, frontman of his own band, stepping in as drummer for ALO, and recently writing and producing his first solo album. Ezra shares the inspiration behind creating his own band Magic In The Other and how he discovered that he's a talented songwriter too. Which may have never happened if he didn't have the courage to manifest what he really wanted and embrace the magic of the unknown. At the end, Ezra lays out a holistic model for looking at music that aligns with Leah's research findings on how live music affects listeners. For the “Did you Know,” Leah shares this research and how it applies to a biopsychosocial model of health and healing. Taraleigh breaks it down in an easy action step that allows you to experience the fullness of music right now in the “Daily Jam.”Ezra Lipp is a bay area-based drummer, singer, songwriter, band-leader, audio-engineer and intermittent podcast host of The Ezra Lipp Hour (More or Less). For years Ezra has been known and revered for his fearless improvisational chops and deeply musical drumming that can be heard playing with bands such as ALO, Phil Lesh & Friends, and many other rock/jam staples, as well as his ability to effortlessly support more traditional songwriters like Sean Hayes, Kacey Johansing and others as a live drummer or session musician. In more recent years he has emerged as a dynamic and charismatic frontman in his own right, engaging his natural abilities for humorous banter and antics while presenting his unique and articulate knack for heart-resonating songwriting and singing in bands like the short-lived (but power-packed) Magic In The Other which was the brain-child of Ezra's from 2017-2020. With the unexpected curveball of the pandemic in 2020 and the inevitable pause of live performances, Ezra turned his creative sensibilities towards the duel focus of leveling up his audio production skills (and now offers freelance mixing and mastering work under the pseudonym Middle Line Mastering), as well as honing his songwriting and producing efforts to create what will be his debut LP “The Softened Sky”, expected to be released in early 2022 along with a new band to explore and present his material in a live setting. This podcast is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts. Acabamos con un poco de soul a cargo de Devin B. Thompson.- The Yum Yums, For Those About To Pop - The Yum Yums, Bubbglegum Baby - Professor and the Madman, Seance - Professor and the Madman, The Council Of Purgatory- Matthew Sweet, At A Loss - Malin Petersen, California - Nikki O'Neill, You're the Only One Who Gets Me - Kacey Johansing, No Better Time- Honey, Partner- Dirty Projectors, Searching Spirits - Wilco, How to Fight Loneliness - Neil Young & Crazy Horse, Falling From Above - Devin B. Thompson, Love to See You Smile

Emily Ritz and Honeycomb are one of our favorite new bands in the San Francisco music scene. Miss Ritz, a self taught musician, brings a unique finger style and odd meters to her ukulele playing. In less than a year, Honeycomb has become a true collaboration, now living together in their outer mission hive.Look out for performances from several familiar Chasing The Moon alumni: including Andrew Maguire’s fierce percussion playing, and Kacey Johansing’s sweet vocals tempering Emily’s feral lead.

Kacey Johansing has had an important influence on the vision and direction of Chasing The Moon since it was barely an idea, so it's only fitting to begin our second season with her lovely music! She put together an incredible crew of musicians for this performance, including Emily Ritz improvising a dazzling light show on the overhead projector.

Michael Musika is fascinating songwriter living here in San Francisco. He doesn't play out often enough, so we're lucky to have charmed him in to playing for our 6th episode. He's joined here by an amazing band: Indianna Hale, Sleepy Todd, Matt Adams, Dina Maccabee, and Kacey Johansing.
