5 year anniversary episode! In honor of launching the Everyday Endorphins podcast five years ago, I wanted to sit down and reintroduce myself, share some of my greatest learnings about building in the public eye through creative self-expression, and offer some of my best advice on how to find greater joy in life. From a rowing blog in 2014, to launching the podcast in 2020, and hosting over 15+ events with brands like Alo, Juice Press, Project Healthy Minds, and more, Everyday Endorphins has evolved beyond what I could've ever imaged. Thank you for being a part of this journey with me, and I can't wait for all that's to come!

If you listened to radio in the 90s and early 2000s, and were into rock music, 89x was a regular stop on the dial. The blast of nostalgia of them coming back after a time as a country radio FM station on the air this week felt good as a pair of Millenials (one, an elder, on the cusp of Gen X). So we get into our favorite memories, local Detroit bands they played - from those more well known like Sponge and the veritable one-hit wonders, Charm Farm. 89x was always a platform for local music, seemingly to play more than other spots. Plus, the DJs, the Canadian Exports. All of it. And our first CDs we ever bought. Plus - Jer and Devon both went to the new Alo and have thoughts, plus the new Lunch at Olin in Downtown Detroit in our regular "Where we've been" segment, highlighting places we've actually tried or visited. In this episode of Books, Baby!, Ian, Bev, and Alo dive into Saou Ichikawa's haunting novel Hunchback. With its fragmented storytelling and stark lyricism, the book offers an unflinching look at the intersections of embodiment, shame, desire, and intimacy. The hosts unpack how Ichikawa captures the vulnerability of inhabiting a body that exists outside of societal ideals, while also carving out space for tenderness and connection.Their discussion highlights the way Hunchback brings disabled experiences and desires into focus, expanding what is often represented in contemporary literature in translation.Books mentioned in this episode:When the cranes fly south - Lisa RidzénThey came to slay: The Queer culture of D&D - Thom James CarterThe las one - Fatima DaasThe white book - Han KangPink Slime - Fernanda Trías Audition - Katie KitamuraThe land in winter - Andrew MillerFlashlight - Susan ChoiUniversality - Natasha BrownIntimacies - Katie KatamuraTokyo Ueno Station - Miri YuButter - Asako YuzikiNot such thing as an easy job - Kikuko TsumaraJust by looking at him - Ryan O'ConnellConnect with us via email (booksbabypod@gmail.com) and on Instagram!Books, Baby! – @booksbabypodHosts:Ian – @bookish_ianBev – @booksgonewildeAlo – @books.swallows.universe

Shawn O'Malley and Daniel Mahnke break down Lululemon (ticker: LULU), an iconic brand famous for pioneering the now ubiquitous athleisure industry. Lululemon has a fiercely loyal customer base, with industry-leading rates of repeat customers, sales per square foot of retail space, and very little need for discounting, if any. In this episode, you'll learn about why the market has soured on this powerful brand, despite incredible success growing internationally, leaving its P/E ratio at a relatively low 15-16x. You'll also learn about how Lululemon controls all of its touchpoints with customers, selling primarily DTC, as opposed to wholesale like Nike and Adidas do, as well as whether LULU is attractively valued today, plus so much more! IN THIS EPISODE, YOU'LL LEARN 00:00 – Intro 04:23 - Why Lululemon has such a cult-like following. 07:19 - What makes Lululemon products so special. 15:41 - How new competitors are challenging Lululemon on the margins. 20:59 - How the future of Lululemon may be defined by China and menswear. 26:48 - Why the setup for LULU stock may be even more attractive than Nike. 53:48 - What to know about possible yellow flags with the business, like its declining inventory turnover ratio and expanding cash conversion cycle. 01:01:57 - Why the company's acquisition of the sports-tech hardware company, Mirror, failed so miserably. 01:07:15 - How to think about modeling LULU's intrinsic value. 01:16:16 - Whether Shawn and Daniel add LULU to their Intrinsic Value Portfolio. *Disclaimer: Slight timestamp discrepancies may occur due to podcast platform differences. In today's episode of Lo On The Go, Lo Bosworth takes a misty walk through Madison Square Park with the multi-talented Cyrus Veyssi. From TikTok stardom to using humor as a tool for empowerment, Cyrus shares their journey of owning their narrative, challenging the gender binary, and why laughter — especially about yourself — is one of the most powerful forms of healing.Lo and Cyrus head to Alo studios for pilates, while they explore mental health, body acceptance, and rebuilding strength after setbacks. Cyrus opens up about balancing wellness with compassion, the importance of doing things at your own pace, and why embracing imperfection can actually unlock deeper confidence. Key Takeaways:1. Confidence is a practice, not a personality trait — it's a muscle you have to work on daily.2. Wellness isn't linear — healing and strength-building take time and self-compassion.3. Humor can be a powerful way to process trauma — but laughing at yourself is different than laughing at others.4. Social media can democratize storytelling — anyone can own their narrative, no permission needed.5. Health isn't always visible — true health and healing happen internally and can't always be ""seen"" externally. Think about everything that's changed in social since 2015. If you make a list, influencer marketing would be pretty high on it. This episode's guest, Robyn Nissim, has seen the influencer marketing space grow since then. From building Ulta's first influencer program to working as the Head of Social Media at brands like Alo and Anastasia Beverly Hills, it's all about connection. Who is your influencer connecting with? Where would you like to drive them to? Who is the IT girl of the moment, and could we possibly work together? It's all about working with what you have, your budget, and optimizing from there. And, a large part of influencer marketing is alignment. It's more than just showing a fitness influencer wearing a matching set: you have to look at the content they've already posted and if it aligns with your mission. If not, you could set yourself up for disaster. Plus, what's the best way to build an influencer campaign? There is no right way, according to Robyn. What role does paid media have? Turns out, it can be a gamble. While it's a pay-to-play entity, it can't guarantee lifetime value or even purchases from your ICP. If you're a marketer who wants to learn more about the inner workings of influencer marketing, this is the episode for you. Let's face it—consumers don't trust ads, but they do trust their favorite creator, that go-to review site, or a friend's recommendation. That's where impact.com comes in. As the leading partnership management platform, impact.com helps brands turn creators, affiliates, and even loyal customers into powerful growth channels. Because in today's world, the real buyer's journey isn't a funnel—it's a group chat. Visit impact.com/millennial and take your marketing to the next level!
