This episode of On the Move gets rolling with a field report from Gone Farmin’ Consignment Agent Paul Demchenko, who briefs Matt and John on the success of the Davenport auction. Paul presents some of the highlights from the event, including top sellers like a 1938 Minneapolis-Moline UDLX, a 1969 John Deere 4520 muscle tractor, a 1911 Case steam traction engine and a 1951 Chevrolet Napco ¾-ton pickup. From there, the guys race right into the latest news from Ford. First up, it’s talk of the highly anticipated Bronco’s release, now happening on July 13, and then a look at the return of a retro ride, the Mach 1 Mustang, set to show up in the 2021 model year. The limited-edition pony will feature a 5.0L/480 HP V-8 engine and nostalgia cues like Tarnished Dark-painted aluminum wheels that harken to the classic Magnum 500-style wheels, as well as side body stripes with reflective surfaces. Keeping the pedal to the metal, it’s nothing but Corvette conversation for the rest of the show. Ken Lingenfelter of Lingenfelter Performance Engineering calls in to provide in-depth feedback and driving impressions from his hours of seat time in the Corvette C8. He also teases what his team has in store to make the model go even faster. Before signing off, Ken pulls back the curtain on his world-class car collection and talks about some highlights. The view on ‘Vettes continues with a visit from President of Bloomington Gold Corvettes Guy Larsen, who joins Matt and John in the studio. Guy gives an update on the show, including its move to a new venue at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana, as well as a new date: September 11 and 12. Marking the first time in the show’s 40-plus year history, the majority of the show will be indoors. The enthusiast also explains the nuts and bolts of the show’s high-level judging, including the standards of the Certification and Survivor Bronze, Silver and Gold Classes. Along the way, he recalls some of the historic pieces that have surfaced at the show including a third-generation ZL1, several prototypes and even an ultra-rare pre-production L88.

Stuck in Time Many agree that the auction house Barrett-Jackson has its grips on some of the greatest collector cars in America. But there’s a large group of classic cars just 90 miles off the Florida coast that no collector - try as they might -- has been able to buy-because they reside in the communist country of Cuba. Since the U.S. embargo was enacted in the early ‘60s, no American products have been allowed either into the country, or out. And experts agree, sitting on that small island is a treasure trove of pre-1960 vehicles that many collectors would love to own. During a trip to Cuba John McElroy captured the story of these incredible vehicles and their owners in a short Autoline documentary called "Stuck in Time" which begins this week’s broadcast. John then follows that story with a trip to our studio with two men well steeped in the car collecting culture. McKeel Hagerty knows the value of cars like these since insuring vintage vehicles is part of his business at Hagerty Insurance. And Ken Lingenfelter of Lingenfelter Performance Engineering has been collecting classic cars for years. This week on Autoline they join John to share their thoughts on Cuba, these unique cars and whether or not they’ll ever make it off the island.
