Jeff Howe, CJ Vogel and Hank South deliver the latest Texas practice intel as Jordan Coleman and Andre Cojoe split first-team opportunities at left tackle during Trevor Goosby's absence. The staff is keeping Melvin Siani and Brandon Baker together on the right side, while Dylan Sikorski, Cole Hutson and Jaden Chapman provide multiple options as Lawrence Seymour works his way back at left guard. The guys also break down Texas' improved linebacker depth, the growing competition between Lance Jackson and Zina Umeozulu opposite Colin Simmons and the versatility Will Muschamp could unleash with Brad Spence back on the field. With Scrimmage No. 2 approaching, several Longhorns are facing their best—and possibly final—opportunity to secure a spot in the two-deep before game preparation begins. Bobby Burton and Gerry Hamilton deliver the latest on All-American left tackle Trevor Goosby after he suffered a non-contact injury to his left knee during a Texas walkthrough. Goosby reportedly walked off the field without assistance, but the severity remains unknown as his family, the coaching staff and the medical team await MRI results. No diagnosis has been confirmed. The guys examine how Texas could restructure its offensive line if Goosby misses extended time, including moving Melvin Siani to left tackle, returning Brandon Baker to right tackle or keeping Baker at guard and turning to one of the Longhorns' young tackles. They also explain why losing Goosby would affect more than pass protection, as Texas would need to replace the leadership of the offensive line's veteran anchor. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. See pcm.adswizz.com for information about our collection and use of personal data for advertising.
Jeff Howe and CJ Vogel react to Steve Sarkisian's latest press conference and his eye-opening praise for transfer tackle Melvin Siani, whom Sark called a far more physical run blocker than expected. The guys explain why Siani, Trevor Goosby and Brandon Baker could give Texas an elite foundation up front, while providing the latest on Lawrence Seymour's injury “hiccup” and the returns of Ty'Anthony Smith, Justice Terry, Brad Spence and John Meredith. The conversation also examines Sark's expanding circle of trust around Arch Manning, including Cam Coleman, Hollywood Smothers, Raleek Brown, Derrek Cooper and Texas' deep receiver room. Plus, the crew breaks down Jonah Williams and Kobe Black strengthening the safety rotation, Will Muschamp's commanding presence during the first scrimmage and what Texas must accomplish before its dress rehearsal and the massive No. 1 Ohio State showdown. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. See pcm.adswizz.com for information about our collection and use of personal data for advertising.
The On Texas Football crew shares its biggest takeaways from the opening practices of fall camp, beginning with an offensive line that already looks significantly improved. Brandon Baker's transformation, Laurence Seymore's quick feet and the return of Cole Hutson give Texas several options to repair the interior, while a loaded receiver room provides Arch Manning with six legitimate Power Four-caliber targets. The staff additions have also allowed Steve Sarkisian to oversee the entire program while veteran assistants provide more specialized coaching. Defensively, Texas could possess its deepest interior rotation since 2022 and one of the nation's most talented edge rooms around Colin Simmons. However, safety remains the roster's biggest concern as Derek Williams, Kobe Black and Jonah Williams battle to start beside Jelani McDonald. From the portal additions to the young talent buried on the depth chart, the panel explains why this could be Texas' deepest team since 2008—and whether that depth can survive a brutal championship schedule. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. See pcm.adswizz.com for information about our collection and use of personal data for advertising.
Bobby Burton and Gerry Hamilton identify four Longhorns who appear ready to make major jumps after the opening practices of fall camp. Nick Townsend has added approximately 15 pounds without sacrificing his athleticism, creating potential matchup problems at tight end. Brandon Baker's move from tackle to guard could also unlock his full potential and transform him into an All-SEC performer and early-round NFL Draft prospect. Defensively, Brad Spence appears perfectly suited for Will Muschamp's aggressive system after earning a place on every assistant coach's list of Texas' best 11 defenders. Zina Umeozulu has also added significant size while retaining the explosiveness that could make him one of the Longhorns' most dangerous pass rushers. Plus, Bobby and Gerry discuss additional breakout candidates and why Kade Phillips may be the most important player Texas needs to emerge. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. See pcm.adswizz.com for information about our collection and use of personal data for advertising.
Bobby Burton and Gerry Hamilton deliver their instant reactions from the first practice of Texas fall camp, where Arch Manning was selected to lead the team into the opening workout and looked sharp connecting with Ryan Wingo and Cam Coleman. The biggest positive came from an offensive line that already looks noticeably different, led by Brandon Baker's body transformation and an encouraging first look at transfer Laurence Seymore. The guys also break down Will Muschamp's reshaped secondary, with Kobe Black working exclusively at safety, Xavier Filsaime lining up at nickel and Derek Williams returning without any visible limitations. Plus, they examine Texas' SEC-caliber defensive front, impressive young running backs and receivers, Jonah Williams' healthy return and the early depth-chart clues that emerged during a spirited—but brutally hot—opening practice. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. See pcm.adswizz.com for information about our collection and use of personal data for advertising.

thatsmydadproject.comBrandon Baker's story is about breaking the cycle of fatherlessness and overcoming adversity.Growing up with a father who struggled with drug addiction and incarceration, Brandon had to navigate the absence of a positive male role model. His father's presence in his life was inconsistent—weekend visits often meant playing video games alone while his dad spent time with friends. By the time he was 12, his father was imprisoned for drug trafficking, and Brandon fully understood the impact of his choices.Rather than following the same destructive path, Brandon made a conscious decision to live differently. He avoided drugs, focused on his faith, and built a successful career in IT. He also became a pastor, mentoring young men who grew up in similar situations.Becoming a father himself was a defining moment. The birth of his daughter brought a new fear: What if he became like his father? Instead of letting that fear consume him, he committed to being fully present. His journey also included reconciliation with his father, a process filled with frustration, grace, and boundaries.

It's never easy for Nebraska football and that remains true following the news of the week with the Huskers now down two running backs for the season. The Husker247 trio got together on Tuesday morning to discuss how the injuries of Gabe Ervin and Rahmir Johnson affect the season ahead and where things sit following Nebraska's win. Conversation shifts from running back to receiver to tight end and even offensive line as Michael Bruntz and Brian Christopherson take turns walking through the offense and each unit, discussing how things have looked for the Huskers. How much changes without those running backs for either Heinrich Haarberg or Jeff Sims? Can Thomas Fidone become a focal point of Nebraska's passing attack? Has so much happened everywhere else that we've largely forgotten about the offensive line? Then it's time to talk defense and Bruntz along with Mike Schaefer work through how well things went against Northern Illinois, which new defenders have emerged this week and how Tony White has built a system that allows new players to step in and look like seasoned veterans. Finally a little recruiting talk as the Huskers have their first visit weekend for a home game this season. Could Nebraska steal Brandon Baker? Who is the big competition for Jayshawn Ross?
