Tom talks about the luxury car market, from which models make the best investments to the shocking maintenance costs of hypercars. He shares stories about celebrity clients, cars that appreciate versus depreciate and gives tips for aspiring collectors. Tom Jaconelli REVEALS: That he still gets excited about special cars, the Bugatti Veyron was his first supercar experience as a child and remains one of the most exciting cars he's ever seen. How he helped grow the family business to £100 million in annual turnover, with their showroom currently holding over 100 cars worth around £30 million. His fact driven and transparent sales approach, which sometimes talks customers out of deals but builds greater long term trust. His profits and losses in the business, revealing they've made up to £400,000 on a single car but have also lost around £100,000 on others when market conditions shifted. What celebrities he has worked with including Rod Stewart, Simon Cowell and members of One Direction That many high profile clients now prefer understated vehicles rather than flashy supercars. Why he focuses on improving the business rather than expanding it further, prioritising quality over quantity. The cars that will appreciate well since they represent "the last of something" in an increasingly digital and electrified car market. BEST MOMENTS "These cars are starting to become their own asset class, people of wealth are thinking, right, I want a property portfolio, I want a stock portfolio. I want maybe a bit of crypto and they're now thinking, I also want a car portfolio." "For me, if I had 50 grand, I'd be probably looking more at some of like the German muscle cars, like the C 63 AMGs, maybe even an RS six V 10. You know, they don't make them anymore." "People say you shouldn't mix family and business, don't they? I think you know, being a family member of this business, you are more driven by it." My dad, Paul Elli. He is the ultimate. He's the goat, he can sell ice to the Eskimos. He has a natural gift of the gab and he won't even know what he's selling a lot of the time." 1. Maserati V4 (1929). 2. Cadillac Series 452 V-16 (1930). 3. Marmon Sixt (1931). 4. Auto Union C-Type (1936). 5. Cadillac V16 Series 90 (1937). 6. Alfa Romeo Tipo 316 (1938). 7. BRM V16 (1947). 8. BRM H16 (1966). 9. Porsche 917 PA Spyder (1969). 10. Cizeta Moroder V16T (1988). 11. Jiménez Novia (1995). 12. Cadillac Sixteen (2003). 12+1. Bugatti Veyron (2005). 14. Rolls Royce 101EX (2012). 15. Bugatti Chiron (2017). 16. Devel Sixteen (2017). Bonus Track 1. BMW Serie 7 “Goldfisch” (1987). Bonus Track 2. Auto Union Schnellsportwagen (2024).

¡A mí me gusta!
The Veyron is what happens when unlimited money and colossal ego meet the hardest automotive-engineering questions ever raised. It was built to be the fastest production car in the universe and also the most expensive. This is the story of what it takes to create something the world couldn't imagine. Segundo: Zapatero a tus zapatos. Bricklin. Made in Canadá.
In this episode of the Carmudgeon show, part-time ambulance chaser Jason Cammisa befriends some forbidden freeway fruit in form of the Volkswagen XL1 — a car that hardly exists at all, let alone on a California freeway at 11 PM. Jason recounts his seat time in the mirrorless, peak-Piëch Bugatti Veyron of MPG and how its small-footprint journey across the US makes for a large-footprint cause — more on that below. Side effects may include a string of broken-necked Bolt drivers and/or a stay in your local hospital. Derek and Jason make some other low-drag comparisons, such as the ill-fated GM EV-1 and original Honda Insight. Jason recounts vivid childhood memories of a 1975 Chevy Impala wagon and a GM hotline that served solely to feed his growing curiosity of facts and figures. This somehow leads to a discussion (and confession) of the different terrible and elaborate ways that rental vehicle customers can cause havoc. Have you ever pulled a 6-liter Vortec out of a U-Haul and returned it with a lowly 4.8? Perhaps you've rented a Toyota Tercel and returned it within an inch of its life. We won't judge you. Maybe. A special shout-out to Jim Magill (@thealso) who drove the XL-1 cross country to raise money for Alzheimer Research.

A few events have been amended, few postponed for another year. But by any name, Monterey Auto Week to Classic Car Week, and with events from The Little Car Show to the Concours d'Elegance, it's back. The all-encompassing showcase of automobiles and many related areas returns after a one-year COVID-19 hiatus. A crew attends to details on a vintage Rolls-Royce just prior to the bidding during Mecum Auctions at Monterey Auto Week. All images © Bruce Aldrich The festivities begin August 6 and continue through August 15 at multiple locations throughout the Monterey Peninsula. Co-hosts Bruce Aldrich and James it all during this Episode #191 of The Weekly Driver Podcast. We'll be on-site for four days beginning Aug. 9. Plans include a podcast from the Concours on the Avenue in Carmel (Aug. 10) and The Little Car Show (Aug. 11) in Pacific Grove. Aston Martin will have a world debut in Pebble Beach (August 12), and we'll be there, too. Monterey Auto Week: Auto Overload In the meantime, Bruce and I discuss our previous experiences attending various activities during Monterey Auto Week. We agree the best show to attend for the money (it's free) is the Concours on the Avenue. Get there early and watch the cars arrive on Ocean Ave. and the surrounding side streets. It's a show with a variety of vintage vehicles, some rare, some not-so-much. A rare Pagani was featured at The Quail: A Motorsports Gathering during Monterey Auto Week. But every vehicle has a passionate owner and the enjoyment of the show is as much to them as it is the showcased of vintage machines. Attending Mecum Auctions (August 12-14) at the Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel and Spa/Del Monte Golf Course is like attending a circus for automobiles (although no cars are mistreated). It's a three-day parade of vehicles for sale, 600 in all, with a vehicle on the auction block ready for bidding every few minutes. We've attended the auction several times. It's held during daytime hours and it's nationally televised. Ticket prices vary but all are inexpensive. It's complete entertainment. Plentiful refreshments are available and the combination of car-and-people-watching is hard to beat. The Concours d'Elegance at Pebble Beach Golf Links (August 15) traditionally ends the annual celebration. And it will again with the finale's 70th anniversary. It will also be Sandaa Button's 35th presentation as the event chairwoman. The first Bugatti Veyron was auctioned a few years ago during Monterey Auto Week. If you're on the Monterey Peninsula during Monterey Auto Week make sure to pick up a free copy of the Monterey Herald's specialty publication on the now nearly two weeks of activities. It includes a detailed schedule of events and profiles of the people and vehicles involved. As a long-time contributor to the Monterey Herald, I have six articles in the specialty publication.

(thank you!) 1:05 Don on riding in a Le Mans racecar with Derek Bell "we, we missed the apex, and I'm, you know, I've done enough driving on track to know the line and you know, how to drive the car and where we should have been. And I could see that we missed it. And I looked over at him instinctively. And he looked over at me, and he, and this is while he's managing the car close to 100 miles an hour in a corner. He looked over at me and said, 'How much do you weigh?' And I answered him, and he kind of it calculated in his brain. And he said, 'Ah, I understand now'. And he corrected, he corrected the slide, we were sliding away from the apex." 4:06 Don reminisces who he has met, been around, ate with: Phil Hill, Carroll Shelby, Rubens Barrichello, Michael Schumacher, Ayrton Senna Gerhard Berger, Johnny Herbert Mario Andretti, Nigel Mansell. 8:24 Ducati is therapy. 11:48 Don was at Frankfurt Auto show with Ferrari when 9/11 happened. Jeff was in a Cadillac, Land-Rover Rolls, Bentley, Lotus showroom. 13:50 (the night of 9/11) Don: The president of Ferrari sitting next to Giorgio Djaro, the designer, and Pininfarina, who are two of the greatest Italian designers of design, most of the Maseratis and Ferraris that have ever been created. And there's these two guys sitting at the table next to me having dinner. While all this surreal news is coming over about New York. So I was staying in Modena in a hotel. And the only channel that was in English was CNN. So I was watching, you know, from, I'd get back after dinner every night, and I'd flip the TV on and watch CNN for four or five hours until the wee hours of the morning, just to try to stay on top of what was going on back home. And I was in Italy, in Italy for three weeks. So it was it was crazy. And when I came back, I remember in the in the car ride back, passing, you know, passing the city coming back from Newark Airport, you could still see the smoldering coming from the city that that many weeks later, and it was just so heartbreaking. 17:15 Jeff: you know, kept me out of college? 20:25 Don on travel: Geneva, Frankfurt & Paris for the Auto Shows, And car factories are fascinating: Detroit, Pontiac,Van Nuys, Lotus, Bentley, McLaren, Ferrari and Maserati. 21:27 Finland-ice driving on a frozen lake. 23:22 the Scandinavian Flick. 25:53 Don on driving Bugatti Veyron. 26:48 the best advice Don has ever given someone. 30:55 Jeff reveals how he wants to die.
The Bugatti Veyron, and its predecessor the EB110, made waves in the car world. Not only was Bugatti back in business, but it was building cars that captured the spirit of the marque: luxurious and brutally fast cars. While the EB110 started Bugatti's return, the Veyron deserves much of the credit for reinserting the marque into our collective automotive consciousness. After rolling out of Bugatti's factory for a decade, the Veyron was replaced in 2016 with the Chiron, another wildly powerful luxe coupe that raised the bar yet again. Powered by a 16-cylinder engine equipped with four turbochargers, the Bugatti Chiron makes 1,500 hp. That's a 300 hp bump over the monster Veyron. Joining the incredible power is a high-tech suspension and a heap of luxury appointments. And while the standard Chiron might be nice enough for your average billionaire, for those looking for something extra, meet the Pur Sport. The Chiron Pur Sport turns a standard Chiron into a more track-friendly machine, with revised gearing, suspension, and styling. On this episode of Quick Spin, tag along with Mark Vaughn as he puts this $4 million machine through its paces. Vaughn walks you around the Chiron Pur Sport to explain its styling and features, and also takes you along for the ride while he does a live drive review. Between the drive review and the walk around, he talks extensively about the Bugatti with host Wesley Wren. Closing the show, the pair explain what makes the Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport special.

Presodite sami :)
The fourth episode of the Founders Podcast looks at the second Full Throttle trip. If you liked our original Founders Podcast on Full Throttle 1 where we bolted off to Europe for one of the first drives in the Bugatti Veyron, we hope you'll enjoy a few laughs as we take you back to Europe for the second instalment of our Full Throttle trip when we got to drive nine of the world's fastest cars scattered across four countries. Oh, and while the first Full Throttle adventure drained us of cash and equity, this next trip very did nearly wipe us out. Funny thing is, we wouldn't have it any other way as we got to drive a few supercars that no one else had driven before us, like the Veritas RS111, Brabham BT92, and GTA Spano from Spain. It was a wild ride that saw us run out of cash at a Spanish airport after Ryan Air cleaned us out for extra baggage charges as we tried to get to Sweden for a Koenigsegg drive and factory tour with Christian Von Koenigsegg himself. And, who would have thought we'd be drifting a twin-supercharged Audi R8 by ABT around tanks at a German military base and then drag racing our M5 on the tank firing range. It was a rush but also hilarious at times. Strap in and enjoy the ride as we relive the early years. This is another long and uncensored episode, so grab a beer or a coffee as we take you through it all! As Designers and hobbyists utilize 3D printing to create custom looks with custom colors for both standard auto parts & performance applications, the technology of producing hard to find parts is a current reality. Melanie Lang, FormAlloy Co-Founder and CEO https://bit.ly/2NyWUlK , is motivated by developing a disruptive technology that delivers the future we could have previously only imagined - the ability to Form, Enhance, and Repair metallic components that go beyond the bounds of traditional manufacturing. https://bit.ly/2NyWUlK 3D printing refers to any manufacturing process which builds or forms 3D parts in layers from CAD data. The technology is extremely significant as it offers direct manufacturing, meaning a design goes directly from you to physical product through a computer and a printer. From a special designed performance intake manifold for a Bugatti Veyron or a brake pedal for a 1927 Ford , 3D printing is paving the way for automotive parts production that gives us both spectacular history and a serious future alike . Melanie Lang joins Wrench Nation Car Talk as we explore the exciting world of 3D printing.

The Bugatti Veyron went into production 15 years ago, which means it’s now old enough to be considered a classic car in some places. Derek and Jason take a minute to discuss what was the fastest car in the world, the most expensive car in the world, and surely one of the most momentous automotive engineering projects in recent history. Fresh off the heels off of the first episode of ISSIMI’s new “Spotlight” show, where Jason features the Veyron Super Sport 300 — the last-ever Veyron coupe produced — the boys discuss the two different generations of Veyron (the first, 1001-hp car was available in coupe “EB 16.4” and convertible “Grand Sport” form — the second, 1200-hp Veyron was also available as a coupe (“Super Sport”) and convertible (“Grand Sport Vitesse.”)They reveal insider stories like the differences between Burmester and Puccini stereos in the cars, and what it’s like to drive vintage Bugattis (like Peter Mullin’s 1933 Type 51 that Jason drove on a Bugatti rally.) But really, this is just a discussion looking back at the Veyron’s incredible accomplishments.==The Carmudgeon Show is a comedic, information-filled conversation with Jason Cammisa and Derek Tam-Scott, two car enthusiasts who are curmudgeonly beyond their years. Proving you don’t have to be old to be grumpy, they spend each episode talking about what’s wrong with various parts of the automotive universe. Despite their best efforts to keep it negative, they usually wind up laughing, happy, and extolling their love for cars. Which just makes them angrier and more bitter.Jason Cammisa is an automotive journalist, social-media figure, and TV host with over 250 million views on YouTube alone. Jason’s deeply technical understanding, made possible by a lifelong obsession with cars, allows him to fully digest what’s going on within an automobile — and then put it into simple terms for others to understand. Everyone needs a hobby, something to distract from the job…something that’s just for you…something that allows you to pursue a passion that maybe only you understand… For example, Flea is big into chess…when the Chili Peppers on the road, he’ll often challenge people to games, including grand masters who are invited backstage for the purpose of playing flea… Geddy Lee of Rush used to be very, very big into signed baseballs, especially those from the old Negro League… Neil Young finds model trains very relaxing…Iggy Pop paints…Bob Dylan does sculpture…Bryan Adams is into photography…Slash collectors pinball machines…guy Berriman of Coldplay has an incredible collection of cars, ranging from classic Porsche’s to a Bugatti Veyron…and then there’s Stephen Morris of New Order…he collects old military vehicles, including tanks… Hey, if you have the interest and the money, why not?... This brings me to Kirk Hammett of Metallica…Kirk is a fan of horror memorabilia…but his biggest passion are posters from old horror movies…his collection is so big and so comprehensive and so well-preserved that it’s the subject of exhibitions at major museums, including the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto…why movie posters?...I sat down with kirk to find out…

Welcome to the Martini Minute, this is what's new in the world of luxury: A representative for Cristiano Ronaldo shot down newspaper rumors that the winning $12.5 million bid for the Bugatti La Voiture Noire—” The Black Car”— was the soccer star's. It wouldn’t be too far of a stretch to assume Ronaldo had, however. The Portuguese striker has a serious affinity for pricey supercars and got at least 19 cars in his garage, including a Bugatti Veyron and a Bugatti Chiron.

The Bugatti Veyron is one of the fastest (and most expensive) cars on the planet. From early on, my kids have always seen this as the penultimate vehicle. The only problem? They're SUPER rare (and expensive). But when my kids say they want to buy one, I totally think they can... It's a subtle shift in your mindset that goes from "I could NEVER afford that" to "HOW could I afford that"? That creates a series of dominos that knock down the ULTIMATE domino at the end - the Veyron... Then, all you have to do is be cool with the dominos along the way to help you achieve your goal... The Cody Builds a Business Podcast is the best business podcast. It's your front row seat to watching me build a 7-figure online business from scratch (or die trying). Like what you hear? Joe has sworn up and down for MONTHS that a Bugatti Veyron is driving around Roseville and Dog has finally called him on it. He wants PROOF!
Not only does Joe think he sees a Bugatti Veyron driving around Roseville, but he also thinks that Donnie Whalberg is a Backstreet Boy. Even sadder, Dog is the one who fact checked him!
Harvey Petroder is a resident of Algoma, Mississippi who recently won his local Lion’s Club Charity Giveaway, a Bugatti Veyron. He’s been a welder, a hay bailer, and enjoys sitting around the kitchen listening to the cows moo. He’s a fan of home made moonshine and making late night runs to neighbors delivering his White Lightening.

Let me clarify the main idea behind what scientists call hedonic treadmill. Making $1 million in one year, but nothing in the preceding nine, does not bring the same pleasure as having the total evenly distributed over the same period, that is, $100,000 every year for ten years in a row. The same applies to the inverse order—making a bundle the first year, then nothing for the remaining period. Your happiness depends far more on the number of instances of positive feelings, what psychologists call "positive affect," than on their intensity when they hit. Mother Nature destined us to derive enjoyment from a steady flow of Pleasant small, but frequent, rewards. As I said, the rewards do not have to be large, just frequent—a little bit here, a little bit there. Sadly, it may be even worse for you to make $10 million, then lose back nine, than to making nothing at all! True, you may end up with a million (as compared to nothing), but it may be better had you got zero.(This assumes, of course, that you care about financial rewards.) In the meantime, Consider that our major satisfaction for thousands of years came in the form of food and water (and something else more private), and that while we need these steadily, we quickly reach saturation. Let me give you another insightful example. How well can we predict our emotions? Would winning the lotto make us the happiest people alive for many years to come? Dan Gilbert world renown Psychologist from Harvard university who studied lottery winners, surprisingly discovered that the happiness effect melt down over time few months.so as direct conclusion after having win the jackpot of the lotto, we fall back to our previous contentment or discontentment. So many are far no better: Well people who progress in their careers are in term of happiness, are right back where they started three months ago. From the same line people who buy the latest Bugatti Veyron or the most luxurious mansion around the block. Science call this the Hedonic treadmill- indeed we work hard, advance and are able to afford more, better and nicer things and this doesn’t make us any happier. Where really lies the problem about a long lasting happiness is that we do not live in an environment where Results are delivered in a steady manner—rare events, outliers, the unexpected dominate much of human history. It is unfortunate that the right strategy for our current environment may not offer internal rewards and positive feedback. The same property in reverse applies to our unhappiness. It is better to lump all your pain into a brief period rather than have it spread out over a longer one. Unless it will look like Chinese torture Well wouldn’t it be nice if we knew how happy a new career or relationship or would make us? Well use these scientific heuristic to make better and brighter decisions; Avoid at all costs anything that generate chronic stress such as being around dull and stressful people, commuting, noise I declare, is happy whom nothing makes less strong than he is; he keeps to the heights, leaning upon none but himself; for one who sustains himself by any prop may fall.(in the meantime I am not saying you should not trust people trust people – namely trust them – but check ,yes you have the last decision- since it is the unexpected that puts the heaviest load upon us. Hence randomness doesn’t look random but how its affect some people is not. Develop a mind that is steadfast and resolutely clings to a good judgment, how? I am glad you ask by gaining a complete view of truth, by maintaining, in all that you do, order, measure, fitness, and a will that is inoffensive and kindly. Follow your passions even if you have to invest a portion of your income Invest in friendship and or most people most professional status achieve long lasting happiness and in the meantime mingle by reserving three to days in a row in a month during which you shall be content with the scantiest and cheapest fare, with coarse and rough dress, saying to yourself the while: "Is this the condition that I feared?" just as In days of peace the soldier performs manoeuvres, throws up earthworks with no enemy in sight, and wearies himself by gratuitous toil, in order that he may be equal to unavoidable toil.
