Tackling one of the most challenging questions of faith needed someone with incredible knowledge of God's Word. In this episode of THE INDOUBT SHOW, host Andrew Marcus sits down with renowned theologian and author Dr. Wayne Grudem to take a deep dive into the character of God, the nature of justice, and the reality of human free will. Dr. Grudem provides biblical insight into why hell exists, what Scripture teaches about God's holiness and love, and how we can reconcile the idea of eternal punishment with a good and merciful God. If you've ever wrestled with this question or know someone who has, this episode will equip you with thoughtful, biblical answers. Tune in for an engaging and theologically rich discussion that encourages both believers and skeptics to consider the truth of the gospel.
Hell. It's not just a word. It's a place—one that stirs up questions, doubts, and fears like no other. Why would God allow such a place to exist, and what does that say about His character? Let's take an honest look at what we can know about Hell, what we don't, and why it matters.THE BIG IDEA: God graciously provides one way for us to get to heaven through Jesus.

Dr Thomas Jay Oord is back to discuss differing ideas about Hell and the afterlife with Christian Ashley and our hosts, Joshua Noel and TJ (Tiberius Juan) Blackwell! We debate the existence of hell as a literal place, the meaning of salvation, and the nature of God. Christian represents the classic view of eternal punishment; Joshua maintains that either an annihilationist view or a universalist view would make the most sense; Dr Oord suggests that God pursues everyone in love in this life and the next, but cannot force anyone into heaven or hell; and, TJ debates whether it even matters what he believes about the subject..Is there such thing as Hell? What is Hell and where is it? What does God say about Hell? What is the eternal punishment in Christianity? What is the everlasting punishment in the Bible? What is the difference between conditional immortality and annihilationism? What is the meaning of the word annihilism? Do Christians still believe in predestination? What is the universalism of Christianity? Does the Bible support universalism? What are the beliefs of the universalists? How Can a Loving God Send People to Hell? Would a loving God send anyone to hell? What is God's purpose for hell? What did Jesus say about hell? What does God say about loving others?.In this episode, we will:Debate differing stances on hellDiscuss the nature of God and what it means to be "all-loving"Ask whether God can save Hitler or notDefine the differences of unity and uniformity.Support the show on Captivate or on Patreon, or by purchasing a comfy T-Shirt in our shop!.Join in our conversations on our Discord Server and Facebook group!.Check out our other discussions with Dr Tom Oord:https://player.captivate.fm/collection/7908711e-0990-4e7c-b604-e5d4e6b1dba2.Check out Joshua's discussion on atonement theories and PTSD in Star Trek:https://player.captivate.fm/episode/1a27a558-5de8-4f4b-bdd0-7f104805a2ef.Listen to Dr Tom Oord's podcast:https://thomasjayoord.com/index.php/podcast.Check out all of the episode of Systematic Geekology that feature TJ:https://player.captivate.fm/collection/f4c32709-d8ff-4cef-8dfd-5775275c3c5e.Check out all other shows on the AMP Network:https://anazao-ministries.captivate.fmMentioned in this episode:Easily subscribe to our show wherever you listen!https://the-whole-church-podcast.captivate.fm/listenCheck out the other AMP Network shows!https://anazao-ministries.captivate.fm . https://open.spotify.com/show/725pdvTzkle0fDWK2sdxnD?si=e317918366e04338
We close our Confronting Christianity series with a doozy. How could a loving God send people to hell? Philosopher and Theologian Peter Kreft has said, “Of all the doctrines of Christianity, hell is the most difficult to defend, the most burdensome to bear, and the first to be abandoned.” Hell has to be an outdated idea flowing from religious zealots seeking to control the lives of people, right? The truth is that no single person said more about the existence and nature of hell than Jesus Himself. If we look at Jesus’ words closely, we will find that hell is actually an extension of God’s character and expression of His righteousness, justice, and yes, even His love. But most important, Christ Himself took on the full weight of hell for us on the cross so that we, as sinful people deserving justice, do not have to end there.

Hell. It makes us all uncomfortable, so much so that we tend to make light of it by joking about its existence. We can thank Gary Larson, the creator of The Far Side Cartoons (do a quick Google search and enjoy a chuckle), for providing us with some of the most humorous depictions. Humor makes hell less scary. For me personally, I was surprised by how much the Saturday morning Looney Toons cartoons influenced my depictions of hell. It was always underground, with fire, and some person in a red suit with horns running around chasing Bugs Bunny with a pitchfork. Again, it made hell palatable. Little did I know, Looney Toons grabbed their ideas from fourteenth century Italian author Dante and his epic work, Inferno. This poem depicts Dante's journey through the nine concentric circles of torment in hell. This has been the standard for how many people, maybe even you think about hell. Unfortunately most of it is not how the Bible describes hell. What does the Bible say about hell? Even more specifically, what does Jesus teach on hell? On Sunday we are going to examine how the Scripture depicts hell. We will focus on these three themes: - What we know about hell. - Why hell is necessary. - How to ensure you don't go there. As uncomfortable as it may be to wrestle with this topic, it is one we need to push into and understand. Here is the good news: Our loving God provided a way for no one to ever experience hell. To learn more, make sure and listen to part seven of Asking For A Friend.
Today Bob shares responses to two controversial questions, both related to the gospel of Jesus Christ. The first is the age-old question of how a loving God can send people to hell. The other is about whether people can postpone accepting Christ and receive Him on their death beds. (Repeat program: First podcast 7-31-20) Click […]
