Good Question - Pastor Corey Blair by Ross Wiseman
“Make America Healthy Again” is a great idea — somebody should try it.A lot of the concerns animating the MAHA movement — chronic disease, the unhealthiness of the American diet, how profits warp our health care system — are serious issues. But Robert F. Kennedy Jr. hasn't taken major actions to address them. Instead he's gutted funding for scientific research, including nearly $500 million dedicated to mRNA vaccine development, throwing a huge amount of possibly lifesaving research in limbo. How did we get here? What are the politics that allowed Donald Trump to preside over Operation Warp Speed, the single most successful pandemic mitigation policy, and then turn around a few years later to appoint Kennedy to undo it all?My colleague David Wallace-Wells has done incredible reporting on how pandemic policies have shaped our politics, culture and society. Rachael Bedard is a physician and a writer who has been thinking deeply about what MAHA represents and where the movement could find common ground with its critics.Mentioned:“‘I Think He Is About to Destroy Vaccines in This Country'” by David Wallace-Wells“Why Calling RFK Jr. ‘Anti-Science' Misses the Point” by Rachael BedardBook Recommendations:Doppelganger by Naomi KleinThe End Doesn't Happen All at Once by Chi Rainer Bornfree and Ragini Tharoor SrinivasanPlagues Upon the Earth by Kyle HarperThe Making of the Atomic Bomb by Richard RhodesCalling the Shots by Jennifer ReichWave by Sonali DeraniyagalaThoughts? Good question
We’ve been doing these shows where we don’t book any guests, where we fill the hour with your calls. And your calls have been interesting and surprising and amusing. This hour, the conversation winds around to the U.S. bombing Iran and Iran’s retaliation in Qatar, the Democratic primary in New York City, the possible decline of “you’re welcome,” a possible July 17 protest, the “great question” tic in interviews … Anything. (Seemingly) everything. These shows are fun for us, and they seem to be fun for you, too. So we did another one. You can now watch our calls shows on Connecticut Public’s YouTube. Subscribe and get notified when we go live. Or join the conversation on Facebook and Twitter. Good Question! Rev. Dr. Colleen Hurley-Bates (6.15.25) by Sermons
Pat Leahy and Harry McGee join Hugh Linehan to look back on the week in politics:· Committees of the Oireachtas are indeed back, but rigor and insight seem to be missing in some of the questions posed by politicians during RTÉ's appearance in front of the Oireachtas media committee on Wednesday.· Independent TDs Barry Heneghan and Gillian Toole, who support the Government, put a dent in the Coalition's majority by voting in favour of a Sinn Féin Bill in support of Palestine.· Former Sinn Féin leader Gerry Adams was awarded €100,000 after a jury found he was defamed by a 2016 BBC TV programme and related article that falsely accused him of sanctioning the murder of a British agent.· And is it time to disband Children's Health Ireland? Minister for Health Jennifer Carroll-MacNeill is considering subsuming the statutory body into the HSE following several controversies during its six years in existence.Plus, the panel picks their favourite Irish Times pieces of the week:· The tight Polish presidential race, looming climate fines, the rise of the campervan, and the wonderful Cáit O'Riordan. What if our biggest obstacle to faith isn't intellectual—but personal? This week, we tackle the deeper reason so many resist Jesus: not because He hasn't proven Himself, but because if He is who He says He is, it means we're no longer in charge. It's not just about answering our questions—it's about surrendering our autonomy. Whether you're a skeptic, a seeker, or a longtime believer, it's crucial to confront the deeper issue behind unbelief and consider what it really means to trust Jesus with your whole life.

Are science and religion incompatible? With the advancement of technology and science, some would argue that science has disproved Christianity. But while science can observe and describe what we are, it cannot answer who we are—we must look back, look within, and look up.
