This week's “How She Finds Purpose” insight comes from Neri Karra Sillaman. She says – “It is never about you. All the entrepreneurs I talk to, that's the most surprising element. When they were building the businesses, it was never about them. They never thought of themselves as the sun in the middle, and they are this leader that is shining out their intelligence and benevolence to others, but they are thinking of others first. And that's what creates business longevity.” Here are 3 reasons why you should listen to this episode: You'll hear how Neri made the bold decision to walk away from a successful family business to pursue what really lit her up—and the moment she knew it was time. You'll learn why so many immigrant entrepreneurs build businesses that last, and how those same principles can apply to your life and work. You'll get real insight into what it means to live with purpose, even when it means going against expectations and choosing yourself. Born in communist Bulgaria and once a refugee living in a tent, Neri shares how education became her North Star, how she built a global luxury goods brand with her family, and why stepping away from it all led her to the work she was truly meant to do. Neri Karra Sillaman is a globally recognized entrepreneur, author, and advisor to leaders worldwide. She's also the founder of a luxury leather goods brand, a former associate professor, and author of Pioneers: Eight Principles of Business Longevity from Immigrant Entrepreneurs. This week's “How She Finds Purpose” insight comes from Dr. Lynise Green. She says – “Figure out a way to just take a beat, take a pause, and really just see yourself. Where are you in your life? How do you fit into your life? And I think, again, that comes back to that being aligned with your values and your purpose. Because I think when we lose that alignment, that's when we lose ourselves in in our own story.” Dr. Lynise Green is a wellness leadership consultant who helps high-achieving women reclaim the parts of themselves they've put on pause while trying to keep everything else going. For years, she was the go-to person—juggling career, family, and everyone's needs but her own. On the outside, she had it all together. On the inside, she was burnt out and deeply disconnected from herself. In this episode, she opens up about her career in engineering, repeated cycles of burnout, and how those hard lessons helped shape the purposeful work she does today. Here are 3 reasons why you should listen to this episode: You'll hear what burnout can really look like—even when everything seems fine from the outside. You'll discover how to spot early warning signs that you're slipping out of alignment with your purpose—before it turns into a full-blown crisis. You'll walk away with a clear reminder that there is a different way to lead and live—one that honors both your ambition and your well-being. This week's “How She Finds Purpose” insight comes from my own journey - “Sometimes it's a whisper to change how you work or how you live. It's not like ambition or ego or what the world tells us we should want. The purpose impulse is something deeper. It's innate. It's the voice of your spirit calling you back into alignment with who you really are. And while it may be quiet at first, it's persistent. If you ignore it, it doesn't disappear. It waits. It returns. It taps you on your shoulder, so to speak, whispering, this isn't it. There's something more.” You know that moment when everything on paper looks great - your career, your accomplishments, your life - and yet something inside still feels off? In this solo episode, I'm naming that feeling. I call it the purpose impulse, and I share my own story of how it showed up for me years ago while working in child protective services. It was quiet at first, but eventually, it became impossible to ignore. I'll walk you through what it feels like, why it matters, and how it could be guiding you toward something deeply real and meaningful in your own life. I also share a powerful moment that changed everything for me - a moment that helped me recognize that the path I was on no longer fit, even though it looked right from the outside. If you've ever felt like you're going through the motions, even while succeeding, this conversation is for you. Here are 3 reasons why you should listen to this episode: You'll learn how to recognize the subtle signs that you're out of alignment, even when everything looks “fine.” You'll hear a deeply personal story that helps explain what the purpose impulse really feels like, and why it matters. You'll get a simple, reflective question to help you reconnect with what your inner voice has been trying to tell you. This week's “How She Finds Purpose” insight comes from Tara Landes. She says – “I think once you've reached that pinnacle or if you're feeling like it's, it's empty or it's not enough, or even if you haven't reached the pinnacle but you're feeling somewhat unfulfilled, I really think that we're social creatures, and we have to find others to share that journey and passion with. Whatever it is, I just I really think that that's what kinda gets missed. We get so caught up on measuring success in terms of money or promotions. And so, really, I think if you're feeling a lack of purpose and a lack of passion, it's time to reach out into the community and find a way to be of service. You'll get way more back than you ever put in.” Tara Landes is the founder of BellRock Benchmark Inc., a Canadian management consulting firm that helps business leaders solve their most challenging problems and implement lasting organizational change. After years of working with small businesses across North America, she returned to her hometown of Vancouver, only to realize that the job she wanted didn't exist - so she built it herself. Drawing from both psychology and business management, Tara has become a trusted advisor to over 300 small business leaders. Here are 3 reasons why you should listen to this episode: You'll hear how one woman turned a career crossroads into a thriving consulting business, without having a “perfect plan” in place. If you've ever felt unfulfilled despite success, Tara shares how finding purpose can come from leaning into your natural strengths, and helping others. You'll get a smart, practical take on building community, navigating hard times, and how being curious about what feels fun can lead to your purpose. This week's “How She Finds Purpose” insight comes from Laura Zavelson. She says – “My advice or my thought would be if you have any interest in entrepreneurship or any seed of an idea, honor that and explore it because there are a lot of different paths your life can take, and there are ways to derisk entrepreneurship and make it more of a calculated risk rather than something, you know, you're just jumping into the unknown. And especially if you have experience in networking and you're a natural leader like the women you described. But if there's a group of people you'd like to help and a problem that you can solve, there are ways to explore that that can help reduce the risk. And you might unlock some real freedom for yourself to do something that lights you up.” Laura Zavelson is an MBA, a self-described corporate finance escapee turned serial entrepreneur, former professor of entrepreneurship, and business strategist. She helps Gen Xers - especially women - who've been laid off, pushed out, or burned out, turn their hard-earned experience into thriving coaching, consulting, or expert-based businesses. With 25 years of entrepreneurial experience behind her, Laura is committed to helping women create financial stability, flexibility, and freedom in their next chapter. Here are 3 reasons why you should listen to this episode: If you're a high-achieving woman in transition, Laura shares practical and relatable advice for starting something new - even if it's been a while since you tried. You'll learn why your career experience is more valuable than you think, and how it can be the foundation for a business that supports your life and values. Laura offers thoughtful encouragement for anyone who's ever wondered, “Do I really have something to offer?” (Spoiler: Yes, you absolutely do.) This week's “How She Finds Purpose” insight comes from Susie Schaefer. She says – “Our self-worth isn't tied to what we own—it's in how we take care of ourselves.” Susie's path to purposeful work didn't follow a straight line, but it did follow her intuition. This week's “How She Finds Purpose” insight comes from Sabine Schoepke. She says: “My biggest advice is don't try to get all of the answers. Like, do one tiny little step at a time. Take inventory of, okay, what's feeling good? What's feeling good for me physically and what's not? Change that. Because I really do believe that our feelings are our superpower, are the greatest power that we have. The feelings that are good and the feelings that don't feel good because they show us what's not right. So check-in. Take little steps into the directions that feel good and take a step back from the ones that don't feel good. And you will see that when you take little steps, the next one is gonna present itself. Things are gonna magically fall into place or show up in your life when it's like, oh, wow. So it doesn't need big leaps, and it doesn't need all of the answers. Don't wait for that. Take initiative, take inventory, and take action.” Sabine Schoepke is a dynamic entrepreneur with over 35 years of experience now dedicated to helping others redefine midlife and create aligned financial freedom. A trailblazer and disruptor, Sabine sold her latest company and retired at 51, shifting her focus to guiding others. This week's “How She Finds Purpose” insight comes from my own journey - “After I made the decision to start moving toward alignment with my authentic self, the world felt brighter, felt lighter. I felt energized because for the first time, I was moving towards something that reflected who I really was. And even though I didn't know exactly what the future looked like and had hope, and I felt excited about what was next, even though I didn't have it all figured out. That's what alignment feels like. It doesn't require certainty, and it brings peace.” In this episode, I wrap up my special three-part series for high-achieving women leaders who are starting to realize that success alone isn't enough. In part one, I shared the story of the moment I knew I wanted my work to make a difference. In part two, I talked about the hidden cost of staying out of alignment with your authentic self. And now, in part three, I'm answering the question: How do I even start aligning my success with my true purpose? Here are 3 reasons why you should listen to this episode: Learn why you don't need a five-year plan to start moving toward your true purpose — you just need the next step. Find out how reconnecting with your authentic self can shift your energy, bringing clarity and peace even when you don't have everything figured out. Discover how to begin making purpose-aligned decisions that reflect who you really are, so you can be both successful and fulfilled. This week's How She Finds Purpose insight comes from my own journey. I once believed that staying in a “good job” meant I was doing the right thing - even when I felt drained, disconnected, and unfulfilled. But I've learned that staying stuck comes at a cost. "Every day, you ignore that inner voice. Every day, you tell yourself, well, this is just how it is, you are risking more than you realize. You are risking your health. You are risking your energy. You are risking your joy. You are risking your creativity, the spark that makes you feel alive, and you're risking the impact you were actually meant to make." In this second episode of my special three-part series, I'm breaking down what you're really risking when you stay in a role or life that no longer fits. If you've ever felt the Sunday night dread, if you've ever told yourself, “This is just how it is,” then this episode is for you. Here are 3 reasons why you should listen to this episode: You'll learn why staying out of alignment isn't as “safe” as it seems, and what it's actually costing you. I'll share how I recognized my own misalignment, so you can start identifying it in your own life. You'll hear how to recognize the difference between exhaustion from overwork and exhaustion from being disconnected from your true purpose. This week's How She Finds Purpose insight comes from me, Dr. Robin. I say - "This is so common. We climb the ladder. We get the quote "good job". We do everything we were told would make us happy. But then when we look around, we feel empty. We feel numb, like we're just going through the motions because we built our success on other people's expectations not our authentic self. And when we are out of alignment with our authentic self no amount of success will ever feel like enough." If you've ever thought, I should be happy - I've done everything I was supposed to - but why do I feel this way? then this episode is for you. I'm kicking off a three-part series on why success alone isn't enough, starting with my own story. I'm sharing how I followed the “right” path, checked all the boxes, and still found myself feeling empty - until one simple question changed everything. Here are 3 reasons why you should listen to this episode: You'll hear how I went from a leadership role at a major bank, where I looked successful but felt disconnected, to discovering what truly fulfills me. I'll introduce two key principles from my Purpose Maker Alignment Framework that help women leaders align success with purpose. You'll get details on my upcoming free online workshop, where I'll walk you through how to find purpose without risking everything you've built.
