A Study of Colossians 1: 21-22
This powerful message takes us on a journey through Psalm 22, exploring one of humanity's most profound questions: how do we respond when He feels absent? We begin with David's desperate cry—the same words Jesus would later echo from the cross—'My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?' Yet this psalm doesn't end in despair. It transforms into a declaration that all nations will worship the Lord. What changes between abandonment and worship? The answer is beautifully simple yet profound: the nearness of God leads to worship. Throughout Scripture, from Genesis to Revelation, we see God's relentless pursuit to dwell among His people. The tabernacle wasn't built so God could receive worship, but 'so that I may dwell among them.' The incarnation of Jesus—Emmanuel, God with us—represents the ultimate expression of this divine desire for closeness. When we feel forsaken, we must remember that God's entire story is about drawing near to us. His presence communicates His love more powerfully than words ever could. Just as we want to be with those we love during difficult times, God wants to be with us. This isn't just theological truth; it's lived reality through community. We're called to embody God's nearness to each other, showing up not just for the big moments but for the ordinary, everyday experiences that truly build connection and reveal divine love in action. Christmas Sunday reminds us that the heart of the season is love. In this special tag team message, Pastors Kory and Darren lead us through the Christmas story to reveal the depth of God's love shown in Jesus Christ. Christmas is not just about activities, traditions, or gifts. It is about God making His home with us out of love. Through Luke 2 and Romans 5:8, we see that God demonstrated His love by coming to us, living with us, and ultimately dying for us while we were still sinners. Jesus entered our broken world to bridge the gap between humanity and a holy God. This love is not earned, deserved, or conditional. It is grace filled, sacrificial, and transformative. The message closes with a call to live out our identity in Christ. As followers of Jesus, we are chosen by God, made holy, and deeply loved. When we truly understand how much God loves us, it changes how we live, how we love others, and how we step into the Christmas season with humility, compassion, and joy. Do you truly believe that you are chosen by God and dearly loved?

What drives your life? Whether money, or our children, or the approval of others, we all have something that drives us, even controls us. In this week's message from 2 Corinthians 5, Pastor Bryan helps us see how allowing the love of Christ to control us changes everything. Living out the identity that Jesus gives us as believers means a new outlook on everything—ourselves, others, and even life and death itself.

An episode from Cornerstone Baptist Church, a conservative, independent body of King James Bible believers located in Carthage, TN. What Cornerstone Baptist Church believes:The Bible says in 1 Peter 4:11, “If any man speak, let him speak as of the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.” Our heart's desire is that God may be glorified in all things as we seek to minister to others. Cornerstone Baptist Church was started in 1991 by a group of people who wanted a church where the Bible was the final authority, not tradition or denomination. Since that time, God has blessed the effort of that initial group and the vision has been broadened and refined as the years have passed. As we have sought the leadership of the Holy Spirt and with a desire to “seek the old paths”. There are a few ministries which seem to be the “earmarks” of our church. First would be Bible preaching and teaching, in order to “perfect he saints”. We have also seen a great response to the challenge of World Missions as we continue to support more missionaries each year. One of our goals is to minister to the entire family and emphasize the importance of Bible based homes. This of course leads to a lot of training for the youth, and a particular emphasis on character. With these areas of emphasis, we also strive to exercise grace and allow the saints room and time to grow in the Lord. Christianity is not a Sunday religion It is not a performance. It is a relationship with Jesus Christ which matures with time and effort. Cornerstone Baptist Church is an independent, fundamental, mission-minded Baptist church that holds to the following: Salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ aloneThe King James Bible as the preserved word of God & our final authority The virgin birth of Jesus Christ The deity of Jesus Christ The pre-millennial return of Christ to this earth The eternal security of ever true born-again believer The gospel as the death, burial & resurrection of Jesus Christ We resist the contemporary music & mega-church philosophy Our first meeting was in a tent in 1991. We organized as a church in October of that year and have witnessed the merciful hand of God through these years as we have grown in Christ through old fashioned preaching, praying, singing and genuine concern for the saved and the lost alike. In this episode, from a chapel service held on Tuesday, 30 September 2025, Kanishka Raffel, Archbishop of Sydney, speaks on 2 Corinthians 5:11–21 and Paul's declaration of his motivation for ministry.Kanishka reminds us that this one particular event—God reconciling the world to himself through Christ—has infinite cosmic consequences, and that if we are convicted about the death of Christ, our lives, like Paul's, will be compelled by it.For more audio resources, visit the Moore College website. In this stirring and deeply encouraging Advent message, Pastor Karl launches the new series The King Has Come with a powerful exploration of the first great gift Jesus brings: hope.Turning to Luke 2 and the quiet, largely forgotten figures of Simeon and Anna, Pastor Karl paints a vivid picture of two elderly saints who spent decades waiting in faithful obscurity—praying unanswered prayers, worshiping through silence, and serving without recognition. Yet the moment a 40-day-old baby was carried into the temple, their Spirit-illuminated eyes saw what the crowds missed: the long-promised Messiah, the Consolation of Israel, the Redemption of Jerusalem.Through their story, Pastor Karl reveals that biblical hope is not wishful thinking; it is the confident, unshakable expectation of future good rooted in the unchanging character and faithfulness of God. Hope grows in the hidden soil of daily faithfulness, thrives when God chooses to work in silence, and celebrates the tiny seed because it already trusts the coming harvest. Simeon and Anna never saw Jesus preach, heal, or rise from the dead—yet they held the infant King and departed in peace, because they knew who He was long before they saw what He would do.A tender yet convicting word for everyone who has waited a long time and is still waiting, prayed a long time and is still praying, and hoped a long time and is still hoping. In a season that can feel rushed and noisy, this message calls us to slow down, stay faithful, and train our eyes to recognize the presence of the King—even when He shows up wrapped in the ordinary, the small, and the seemingly insignificant.Because the King has come, hope is not dead. It is alive, resilient, and bubbling up in every heart that keeps showing up and keeps looking for Jesus. We are more than overcomers through Him who loves us. Jesus gave very specific promises to those who overcomes, but we will never be able to overcome in our own strength. Instead, we overcome by resting in the love of Christ. It is by keeping an open heart and receiving His love that an overcoming lifestyle grows as a fruit! In this episode of The Mountain Podcast, Samuel Goulet continues on week 5 on the theme of “Design & Purpose,” emphasizing that every believer is made to share Christ with others. Drawing from 2 Corinthians 5:11–21, he explains that receiving Christ naturally leads to giving Christ, and that the love of Jesus should be the controlling force in our lives, freeing us from fear, resentment, and selfishness. Samuel outlines five practical ways to live out this calling—intercession, evangelism, counsel, edification, and restoration—encouraging listeners to be active ministers of reconciliation, to build up and restore others, and to let the love of Christ mobilize them to serve and impact those around them.

Heart Speaks to Heart: The Love of Christ in the Eucharist Today's Homily centers on St. Paul's teaching that to truly know God's love, . . . . . . one must be rooted and grounded in it . . . not merely observing from a distance but living within it. The Homily then turns to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, whose mystical experiences of Christ's Sacred Heart revealed the depth of His love and sorrow at being loved so little in return. Through her, Jesus emphasized that devotion to His Heart is inseparable from devotion to His Eucharistic Presence. He lamented the neglect and indifference shown toward the Blessed Sacrament, even by those consecrated to Him, and called for reparation through time spent with Him in prayer and adoration. Heart Speaking to Heart From her quiet convent, this message gave rise to practices such as the First Friday devotion, Holy Hours of Reparation, and the simple yet profound habit of “visiting the Lord” in the tabernacle. The reflection concludes that true devotion to the Sacred Heart is not symbolic or sentimental, but an active, personal engagement . . . heart speaking to heart . . . in which Christ's love calls to the depths of our own hearts. Many people miss the love of Jesus because they think: “Happiness is found only when I am free to live for myself.” Pastor Colin talks about the misery of this position and the hope of breaking free from it.
How can you have a deeper experience of the love of Christ? Some would say “rededication” or “more discipline.” Pastor Colin explains the Bible's answer to this question.
In this powerful episode of The Compelled Podcast, Emma Mae McDaniel walks through the parable of the Good Samaritan in Luke 10, reminding us that loving God and loving people cannot be separated. With heartfelt encouragement and biblical insight, Emma challenges us to see the people around us, be moved with compassion, and live generously—because this is what it means to be a neighbor. As she unpacks Jesus' words, “Go and do likewise,” she points us back to the sacrificial, steadfast love of Christ that first saw, pursued, and gave everything for us. https://www.emmamaemcdaniel.com/books Learn more about your ad choices. In this powerful message, we're reminded of the urgency of our spiritual awakening. Drawing from Romans 13, we're called to 'wake up from our spiritual complacency' and recognize that our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. The central theme revolves around knowing our time and being ready to act on God's prompting. We're challenged to be disciples who know who they are and what to do, embracing ministry in our everyday lives. The message emphasizes that God has always known us and has a plan for each of us, regardless of our past mistakes. We're encouraged to step out in faith, one decision at a time, trusting that God has already seen the life we could have. This overview leaves us pondering: Are we ready to let Jesus interrupt our lives and use us to reach others?
