Want to know the sentence I hear the most often from online coaches and even my own clients? Here it is: “I hate sales!” It hurts my heart to hear it. But, to add insult to injury, this is usually followed up with: “And I'm terrible at marketing!” Statements like this used to really irk me. They had that faint smell of an excuse. Yet, for some, these are just factual truths they've come to accept. Today, I talk about breaking the chain between what you believe and what you deserve and desire. Listen in as I share two powerful strategies to rewire your brain and use your limiting beliefs to unlock your unlimited potential. In this episode, we talk about… [03:11] It's not all about your mindset.[05:11] Understanding how your environment alters your gene expression with neuroplasticity and epigenetics.[08:57] How you might be programming your mind for the worst without even realizing it.[15:58] An introduction to the two strategies you can use to rewire your brain.[17:30] Strategy #1: G.R.E.A.T. Journaling (with five steps).[18:47] Step #1: Ground down.[21:48] Step #2: Reframe your beliefs.[25:04] Step #3: Express gratitude.[28:19] Step #4: Affirm your goals.[29:49] Step #5: Tackle the day.[32:55] Strategy #2: Recognize, Record, Refute, Record (again).Resources mentioned in this episode:The Brain That Changes Itself by Norman Doige, M.D. - affiliate link - https://amzn.to/3Coznv6Epigenetics How Environment Shapes Our Genes by Richard C. In this episode, we continue our exploration of the application of the Brainspotting modality. Our guest, Dr. Melanie Young, discusses brain injuries, symptoms, and interventions. We are left with a sense of hope that, through collaborative efforts provided by what we refer to as “allied providers”, people who have experienced brain injuries can successfully heal. Brainspotting is a modality discovered by Dr. David Grand. Please visit www.brainspotting.com to learn more. Here are the six mantras from this episode: Mantra #1: Head injuries are often invisible (unable to be seen on the scans). Mantra #2: (If symptoms persist or get worse), don’t wait too long to see out further information, such as neuropsychology testing. Mantra #3: People who have experienced brain injury need extra support (at home, at school, at work). Mantra #4: Watch for problematic symptoms such as withdrawal, apathy, low mood, irritability, etc. Mantra #5: Neuroplasticity offers hope to anyone who has suffered from a brain injury (see Dr. Norman Doige’s The Brain that Changes Itself). Mantra #6: Brainspotting (and other modalities offered by “allied practitioners” does not promise “miracles” but it does offer a new better normal for the person who has experienced a brain injury.
