In this podcast episode, Dorothy discusses the importance of having a high ticket offer as an entrepreneur to create a sustainable business. She emphasizes the need to protect time, freedom, and creativity while developing a signature system that fits into the four tiers of wealth that every entrepreneur needs. Dorothy encourages online entrepreneurs to focus on high value instead of high volume and to create high ticket offers that focus on delivering outstanding value rather than delivering a lower-cost offer that requires a lot of volume to create a return on investment. By creating a high ticket signature offer, coaches, experts, and course creators can simplify their sales process, reduce the number of days they work, and have more time for leisure which ensures they don't burn out and stay creative and productive when needed.Connect with Dorothy:Schedule a call with Dorothy to chat about your Sales Strategy here:-> https://bit.ly/3bMgbtxInstagram @dorothyvilleneuvecoachingMore info + free resources: wildlyconfidentsales.com Why a High Ticket Offer is Crucial for Your Business (00:01:42)Discover the significance of having a high ticket offer to establish a sustainable business. What if you could sell your services without ever having to make a pitch? If you get squeamish at the thought of having to do a “hard close” at the end of a lengthy sales presentation, or uttering awkward phrases like, “Don't let the sun go down on this opportunity for you today!,” don't worry. You're not alone!Asking for the sale is something that most business owners want to avoid like the plague. As a result, they often leave the prospect hanging, never actually making the offer at the end of the call! One way to get over this common fear is to force yourself to talk to more people and build up your grit to the point where you're desensitized to rejection. While this is sound advice, there is a way to make sales feel a heck of a lot better than having to face rejection over and over and over again. There is a way to eliminate having to pitch at all and even get your prospects asking YOU for the sale!If you prefer the sound of pitch-free selling over having to go through a bunch of nos, this episode is for you! Oh hey there, listener! It's been more than a minute! Now, this is going to be a bit of a different episode, but I found that the podcast gods just wouldn't leave me alone if I didn't address this topic. So, somewhere deep down in my perfection-desiring soul, I had to accept that calling and allow this piece of vulnerability out.But I believe this could just be one of the most important subjects I'll ever cover on the podcast.Today, I'll be going into the heavy topic of how my struggles with mental health in June of 2021 impacted my business. At that time, I was falling down the deep rabbit hole of trying to figure out whether those struggles were age-related, hormonal, or even postpartum depression. It wasn't easy to pinpoint the source of my mental health challenges. We were in the midst of a global pandemic, after all.I was eventually formally diagnosed with an alphabet soup's worth of conditions, ADHD being among them. This diagnosis forced me to slow down and reflect on my deepest mission and purpose as an entrepreneur, as well as how to make my brand more intentional and aligned to who I truly am and what I stand for.Listen in and learn the priceless lessons I learned from this life-changing experience about becoming a better business owner and coach, and how to optimize your mental health in order to stay productive and motivated on this exciting journey! In this episode, we talk about…[02:30] How I dealt with mental health struggles in June 2021[06:05] The long, agonizing wait for the diagnosis to finally arrive[11:37] How this experience helped my business[14:40] Exploring the “whats” and the “whys” of my business[19:19] Finding out how to become a better coach[21:14] How I intend to create more intentional, aligned content[23:21] Creating an ideal offer for my ideal client[25:18] Investing in your mental health as an entrepreneur[27:52] The importance of having a partner that supports you on your journey[28:52] My closing thoughts on entrepreneurship and mental healthSchedule a call with Dorothy to chat about your Sales Strategy here:-> https://bit.ly/3bMgbtxSend your episode topic suggestions or questions to hey@dorothyvilleneuve.comReach out to Dorothy on Instagram @dorothyvilleneuvecoachingMore info and free resources at wildlyconfidentsales.com
Having a large email list is one of the most common misconceptions for business owners when it comes to selling high-ticket offers.Yes, your list size absolutely does matter. I'm also going to be brutally honest with you and share the four things I now do very differently to ensure I don't make the same mistakes I did when I still had a small audience. In this episode, we talk about…[02:03] Common myths around email lists and social media followings.[04:14] Must-have #1: Confidence.[07:00] Must-have #2: Strong relationships.[10:14] My simple social media CRM to organize and track all my online activity.[13:11] Must-have #3: Crystal-clear clarity on the exact needs of my ideal client.[18:01] Mistake #1: Not having a crystal-clear roadmap and outcome for my clients.[20:22] Mistake #2: Believing that “if you build it, they will come.”[24:39] Mistake #3: Offering an outcome missing “specific” and “measurable” results.[26:17] Mistake #4: Believing I needed a “giant” launch.[28:08] A recap of the three must-haves and my four mistakes.Resources Mentioned in Today's Episode:Simple Offer Breakdown Free DownloadConversations to Clients Free Mini-CourseSchedule a call with Dorothy to chat about your Sales Strategy here:-> https://bit.ly/3bMgbtxSend your episode topic suggestions or questions to hey@dorothyvilleneuve.comReach out to Dorothy on Instagram @dorothyvilleneuvecoachingMore info and free resources at wildlyconfidentsales.com
I bet I can predict your future… and with pretty good accuracy as well. How, you say? It's pretty simple. I'll take a look back at your past and the things you've been doing, and very quickly be able to give you a snapshot of your future. This is because it's human nature to do the same (or similar) things even when we believe we're making big changes. We often revert to our old habits and behaviors without even realizing it.This is why change is so darn difficult. Have you ever tried to adopt a new habit or lose weight? Case in point. Our brains are wired to keep us in homeostasis and they're running millions of preprogrammed operations in the background. Many of those operations are definitely impacting the success we desire and our ability to achieve your goals.Listen in as I reveal the scientifically-proven principles you need to shift that default narrative and give you a 95% certainty of achieving your goals. In this episode, we talk about…[02:43] Why we revert to old habits.[04:35] Fellow entrepreneur: You're not alone![07:01] What does all of this have to do with goals?[08:55] How to set brave goals.[12:24] The steps to creating predictable business success with 95% certainty.[17:16] Why you need to set self-focused goals.[19:50] Choose your accountability partners.[23:17] Nail your systems and your self-commitment.[24:40] The last piece of the puzzle.[26:52] Get ahead of the obstacles.[29:40] A recap of the principles.Resources Mentioned in Today's Episode:Inc. article on Achieving Your GoalsThe Science and Psychology of Goal-Setting 101Dominican University on Goal AchievementSchedule a call with Dorothy to chat about your Sales Strategy here:-> https://bit.ly/3bMgbtxSend your episode topic suggestions or questions to hey@dorothyvilleneuve.comReach out to Dorothy on Instagram @dorothyvilleneuvecoachingMore info and free resources at wildlyconfidentsales.com
People buy what they want, not what you want to sell to them. This old sales adage has never been more true than today. It's one thing to make a pitch and hope somebody buys your product or service. It's a totally different thing to anticipate the objections they will have about buying from you before they even say them.By knowing your customer's objections in advance, you can preemptively answer any concerns and alleviate the fears of the customer.Listen in as I reveal four points to help your approach to any objection you may hear that will help your customer feel heard, understood, and respected before answering their concern—and allow you to do all this with tactful grace. In this episode, we talk about…[02:21] The five buckets of sales objections.[04:10] The four points at the core of any sales objection.[06:32] Point #1: Never take objections personally.[08:44] Point #2: Understand your clients' concerns before they even mention them.[09:20] Bucket #1: Need.[11:16] Bucket #2: Price.[15:57] Bucket #3: Time.[18:47] Bucket #4: Urgency.[21:59] Bucket #5: Trust.[23:06] Point #3: Use the untapped power in the sales objection.[26:19] Point #4: The Double-A Method.[30:34] A recap of the four points.Resources Mentioned in Today's Episode:Free Conversations to Clients Mini Course (https://learn.dorothyvilleneuve.com/C2C)Schedule a call with Dorothy to chat about your Sales Strategy here:-> https://bit.ly/3bMgbtxSend your episode topic suggestions or questions to hey@dorothyvilleneuve.comReach out to Dorothy on Instagram @dorothyvilleneuvecoachingMore info and free resources at wildlyconfidentsales.com

“The money is in the list.”We've all heard the saying. But putting it into practice isn't as easy as it sounds.Maybe you still don't have a list to speak of or, if you do, it's growing way too slowly for your liking.Expecting people to just sign up for your newsletter is not working out for you, either. You might even have a lead magnet or two (or three), but they've turned out to be little more than flops.Or, maybe, you aren't sure if you even want to grow an email list right now because you don't think you have the time to nurture it regularly. If any of these sound like you, and you're curious about how to create an opt-in that actually attracts leads and sales, you're in the right place.Listen in as I give you my top tips for crafting high-performing lead magnets that convert. You'll learn how to grow a list of ideal clients who are qualified for your offers, the dos and the don'ts of lead magnets, and the common mistakes I've seen in my own clients' lead magnets. In the end, you'll have yourself a lead magnet that leads can't help but download and use to get results, which will have them coming back for more… over and over again. In this episode, we talk about…[03:23] Get clear on the outcome you want to get out of your lead magnet.[04:34] What is a lead magnet, exactly? There's no better time to create income online than right now. The internet has created a huge opportunity for entrepreneurs and coaches who are willing to take the leap and make it happen. For you, that might mean moving from that tedious one-on-one work into making an offer that leverages both your time and your energy and creates the lifestyle freedom you desire. But don't take my word for it. Here's what the statistics have to say: According to a Facts & Factors Marketing Research report, the size of the global eLearning market size and share revenue is expected to grow from $144 billion in 2019 to reach $374.3 billion by 2026. That's a 14.6% annual compound annual growth rate (CAGR)! The fact is, you don't need to have a massive following. Even coaches and experts with small audiences can start creating clients and making money online right now. I am living proof of that. But what you do need to understand is that you have to validate your offer, and you have to craft it with your ideal client's desires and outcomes in mind. In this episode, I'll be outlining the five key steps that will help you get started on your journey of creating your own income online as an expert in the coaching industry. In this episode, we talk about… [03:15] Step #1: Figure out what you're really passionate about.[07:45] Step #2: Craft your irresistible offer.[12:55] Step #3: Set your price.[18:58] Step #4: Executing your delivery.[26:04] Step #5: Market your offer.[31:21] A recap of the five stepsResources Mentioned in Today's Episode:SIMPLE Offer Breakdown from Dorothy -> dorothyvilleneuve.com/free-resources/Schedule a call with Dorothy to chat about your Sales Strategy here:-> https://bit.ly/3bMgbtxSend your episode topic suggestions or questions to hey@dorothyvilleneuve.comReach out to Dorothy on Instagram @dorothyvilleneuvecoachingMore info and free resources at wildlyconfidentsales.com

In a recent study of 600 entrepreneurs and small business owners, 84% admitted that they have experienced imposter syndrome. You've probably felt it, too: that lingering feeling that you might be “found out” for your lack of knowledge or ability. You might have even fallen into the trap of believing that all the success you have had up to that point can be attributed to nothing more than “dumb luck.” This is rarely the case. Chances are, you've worked pretty dang hard to get your business to the point it's at today. And you deserve every bit of success you've achieved! Still, this doesn't change the fact that you've gone through feelings of inadequacy somewhere (or everywhere) along your journey. Don't worry. We all get them. The question now is: How do we overcome those feelings? Listen in as I break down the elephant in the room: It's time to stop feeling like you are an imposter by gaining some crucial confidence skills. In this episode, we talk about… ● [02:57] Let's break the stigma.● [04:00] How do we prevent “imposter syndrome” and build confidence?● [06:59] Find your moment of grace to escape victimhood mentality.● [09:40] The importance of trusting yourself.● [13:00] There is always an expert.● [15:24] Embracing your zone of genius without overestimating your abilities.● [18:14] How your upbringing influences your sense of worth as an adult.● [20:49] When overwhelmed, write down or talk about your thoughts and feelings.● [24:19] Overcome “imposter syndrome” by facing it head-on.● [25:15] Step #1: Get out of your monkey brain.● [26:58] Step #2: Do some breathwork.● [28:22] Step #3: Ask yourself these four questions.● [34:00] “Imposter syndrome” is not you. Traffic, audience, offer. If you want to maximize your ability to make money online, you need to have these three factors dialed in. If you can generate traffic to your platforms and create an audience of raving fans who are more than happy to part with their money to purchase your irresistible offers, you have cracked the code. Your business success is not solely defined by the good times and the upswings, contrary to what you see posted on all of your social media feeds. In fact, there is a lot more value in how you handle the downs and how you deal with obstacles and setbacks. The online business industry is competitive. The demands put on you, fellow entrepreneur, can be overwhelming at times, and it takes a lot to stick to the game long enough to make any progress. In order to build character and find success in growing your online business, you're going to need a boatload of resilience. In this episode, we will cover exactly what resilience is as well as how you can develop your own unconquerable business mindset so that making more income and a bigger impact becomes an easier journey for you. Why this topic and why now? That's a great question. Frankly, I'm a little tired of the “toxic positivity” culture that is so pervasive in the online business space. So, I wanted to speak candidly about how I help clients handle the tough stuff, and the tips and tricks that I believe will help you build a business that you love rather than live in by ensuring you honor your boundaries and strengthen your mindset muscle. In this episode, we talk about… ● [03:08] What all struggling entrepreneurs deal with.● [05:08] The importance of having a clear vision from the get-go.● [06:16] Remembering that things happen “for” you and not “to” you.● [07:44] Obstacle #1: Your past will catch up to you.● [08:48] Finding an accountability partner.● [10:58] Why it's not only “okay” to take a break, but vital.● [12:53] Why we need to define “success” on our own terms.● [15:25] How to find the motivation to tackle the “necessary evils” of doing business.● [17:48] It's okay to pivot, scale, or shrink!● [21:10] When is the best time to create a business that you love?● [22:15] The Be, Do, Have philosophy.● [23:30] It's time to get real, get clear, and get committed. 85% of purchased online courses are never completed.A big reason is that course-creation advice tends to be pretty light on the practical side.Everybody tells us that, in order to get a major leg-up as an online business owner, we must make a course, but few tell us how to make one that, you know, actually sells.Even fewer can explain how to create one that delivers results to your clients and doesn't overwhelm them.If someone buys your course and doesn't end up completing it, what you end up with isn't just a disgruntled client who didn't receive your promise on the sales page. What you also end up with is a blank testimonials section. And don't even think you're getting referrals from that client you let down.Ready to level up your business by putting together an online course that sells? In this episode, I go over the six steps you need to take in order to distill your genius into a digestible course that creates results for your clients, generates testimonials and referrals, and allows you the lifestyle freedom and the revenue to create sales in your sleep and take a much-deserved break. In this episode, we talk about… ● [03:24] Why you need to create a system for your sales process.● [05:05] Step #1: Establish your course foundations (using the four Cs).● [09:14] Step #2: Select your profitable course topic (by asking the right questions).● [19:38] Step #3: Get clear on the content that sells your course (with client-centered language).● [28:18] Step #4: Price your course to sell with ease (and adjust it accordingly).● [32:54] Step #5: Create your professional look and design (without breaking the bank).● [44:30] Step #6: Figure out where you will host your course (via a dedicated course platform).● [53:20] A recap of the six steps. Have you ever wondered where to find your best clients? The dreamy ones that all the coaches encourage you to find? They swear they're out there just waiting for your wonderful self to wrap them up in a big entrepreneurial hug with your offer in hand. Most of us have been told that these vital few can only be found once we've built up a huge following. Have you ever heard that you have to have a certain number of followers or emails on your list before you can even ask for the sale? I'm here to break that myth. I'm here to show you why many of my clients who have much larger followings than me were still struggling to achieve sales for their offers. A higher follower count does not necessarily lead to more sales. Done correctly, your aligned online following is absolutely an insurance policy. But, you'll most likely be building a much stronger connection and relationship with them off of social media. And this is where the sales happen. Listen in as I unpack the small audience dilemma and the three steps that you should be taking instead of aimlessly trying to build up your following on social media. In this episode, we talk about… ● [03:22] Step #1: Your best clients are referrals. Get more of them!● [08:27] Why it's a waste of time to build a massive social media following.● [09:01] Step #2: Grow your darn email list!● [15:22] How to get your ideal clients to opt in to your email list.● [20:00] Step #3: Ask them for the sale.● [22:00] How to create a solid online presence.● [23:15] Forget gaining new followers. So, you've got an idea for an offer, and you are ready to sell. But before you go any further, I have a few questions for you: Does your market really know who you are? Do they understand what your business does? Do your ideal clients clearly get what you stand for and why that's so important to them? Do they have crystal-clear clarity on precisely how different you are from the competition that they see advertised all over their news feed? Is your business positioned as the attractive hero that your client is dying to work with? Before you even think about taking the next step with your idea, you need to be able to answer a resounding “YES!” to each and every single one of these questions. In this episode, I share how you can put together your “only I…” statement so that anybody who comes across you can see, right away, what sets you apart from everybody else. Listen in as I discuss the somewhat intimidating concept of positioning yourself, your offers, and your brand with ease! In this episode, we talk about… ● [03:58] Who do you serve, exactly?● [06:20] Why positioning is vital to your business.● [08:47] “Positioning will always trump pricing.”● [10:32] The subjectivity of value.● [16:09] Validating your offer and pricing.● [22:14] Why you should start with a high-ticket offer.● [27:02] The four parts that make up your offer's true value.● [28:40] “Commitment levels increase with price.”● [29:37] Advice around differentiation.● [32:26] Four questions to ask yourself to ensure your offer is positioned to sell with ease.● [34:54] A recap of today's episode. As the old saying goes: “Nothing happens until somebody sells something.” And don't experienced professional salespeople make selling seem so darn easy, as if they were born with this elusive skill that we call “sales”? The secret to how they do it so well seems like some sort of unsolved mystery for the ages. But the truth is… it's really not. Sales is something I know you can fall in love with. Though not an inherent skill, it's one that can be taught and massively improved with proactive practice and a healthy curiosity. And not only that: Did you know that improving your ability to sell will have a ripple effect into so many areas of your life? It will surprise you: You'll improve your listening skills, present your case better when communicating with anybody, whether with your children, with your spouse, or with your manager. In fact, learning the art of negotiation is something I practice regularly and teach my children. It's all a result of being in sales for 22 years. Today, I want to help you see the distinct difference between an amateur and a professional salesperson. This will help you quickly demystify the behaviors of a professional from the actions of an amateur. You'll be better equipped to tackle your own sales efforts and realize when someone less skilled is using amateur efforts on you. My goal is to inspire you to feel better about the way you do sales and realize its crucial significance in the success of your business so that you can get on with making better sales to make the income and the impact you desire. Listen in as I go through the six questions you can ask yourself to guide you on the path to becoming a better sales professional! In this episode, we talk about… ● [03:56] How to tell apart master salespeople from the amateurs.● [06:06] Is sales something you're doing to people or for people?● [09:51] Why it pays to invest in yourself.● [12:59] Question #1: Are you setting and achieving your goals?● [16:30] Question #2: Do you regard failure as a setback or as an opportunity?● [20:00] Question #3: Are you telling or are you selling?● [25:25] Question #4: How often do you practice what you're offering and the way you communicate it?● [28:51] Question #5: Do you know the price of your offer, and are you declarative about it?● [32:07] Question #6: Are you learning new skills or creating a new habit?● [36:52] A recap of the six questions.● [39:45] My challenge to you. All the marketing efforts in the world will land on deaf ears if no one knows who you are and why what you do can help them. Let's be honest: Preaching to a nearly empty room feels awkward in real life, let alone the echo chamber that marketing on social media can create. How can little ol' you become visible to your ideal clients? How do they learn your name, figure out what the heck you're about, and want to pay you for your help? It's actually a lot easier than you're making it. Take it from me. Despite the fact that I (a). don't use paid ads and (b). have a paltry email list and follower count on social media compared to just about every other entrepreneur I know, I'm still making more money than I ever did from my six-figure corporate career, with lifestyle freedom to boot! This is only possible because I regularly commit to a very simple visibility strategy that helps to keep me top-of-mind and very visible in the areas where I know my ideal client hangs out. It's your turn to do the same. Listen in and learn how to become more visible and make more sales today in just three simple steps! In this episode, we talk about… ● [02:04] How to create your own pond and attract your ideal fish. ● [06:25] Using “turning on the tap” strategy to increase your visibility. ● [09:15] Step #1: Optimize your social media profiles. ● [12:55] Step #2: Build a compelling lead magnet and a nurture sequence of emails that invite your ideal client to something you have for sale. ● [19:10] Step #3: Create an implementation strategy by setting daily implementation actions. ● [25:38] Fine-tuning your client pipeline. ● [28:00] A recap of the six steps. In this episode, we talk about…· [03:58] Mistake #6: Wasting time being indecisive. Instead, hire out what you aren't an expert in to focus on your sales.· [16:29] Mistake #7: Creating “too many everything.” Instead, focus on the cohesive flow a properly constructed offer should take.· [24:01] Mistake #8: Talking too much on sales calls and not hearing buying signals. Instead, listen for the clients' struggles and what's important to them.· [33:41] Mistake #9: Attaching to outcomes rather than believing and allowing. Instead, focus on the intuition and fit of this client to you. Nobody hears “yes” every time.· [39:21] Mistake #10: Not speaking to clients personally while you still can. Instead, put together a compelling case study, speak to clients' exact needs, and detail exactly how much money your services can save the client. This is an episode that I think will hit home with many of you. It certainly does with me. In putting together this list of ten mistakes that most coaches make when trying to find clients for their offer, I took from my personal experience and my observations of many other entrepreneurs who have walked paths similar to my own. In fact, the very title of this episode could be considered a “mistake” itself: The idea of going out to find clients is often a losing strategy for inexperienced business owners. Instead, the approach I follow is to create clients. But, since “create” is not a term people typically use when looking this topic up on Google, I've decided to keep the title of the episode as is and use it as an opportunity to explain this common misconception. I believe that a successful business creates their ideal clients. You should only work with people that you really love to work with. As entrepreneurs, we choose our clientele. In Part 1 of this two-part episode, I give the first five mistakes coaches make in their search for their ideal client. In this episode, we talk about… · [02:50] Finding clients versus creating clients.· [08:36] Mistake #1: Selling what you do rather than the outcome of what you do.· [16:09] Mistake #2: Not asking enough (i.e. passive selling).· [34:04] Mistake #3: Having no marketing strategy or marketing for too long.· [43:46] Mistake #4: Not warming up your audience.· [49:53] Mistake #5: Not setting goals or setting them incorrectly.· [59:26] A recap of the first five mistakes.
