Welcome to "The Put it in the Books Show," the only podcast where the Mets' offseason moves are more unpredictable than a New York minute! Strap in for the 2024 Spring Training Episode #1 with your hilariously insightful hosts: Farace, the master of Mets metaphors; Rodriguez, who bleeds orange and blue but can't keep a straight face; Lares, the stats wizard with a penchant for wild predictions; and Producer Joe, who might accidentally mute himself mid-show. Dive headfirst with us into the Mets' offseason rundown, where we'll try to make sense of all the twists and turns without getting dizzy. We'll cover everything from surprise trades to those "What were they thinking?" moments, all while keeping the mood lighter than a floating knuckleball. Then, we'll tackle the astonishing fact that five Mets players have squeezed into the top 100 MLB players list. We'll discuss who's up, who's down, and who's just happy to be mentioned. Expect hot takes, cold stats, and a debate over which Met deserves their own superhero movie. Pete Alonso's contract talks are up next, and it's a saga more gripping than your favorite soap opera. Will he get the big bucks, or will the negotiations drag on longer than a rain delay? Our hosts will offer their two cents, which is probably more than they're contributing to Pete's contract fund. The Captain's arrival in Port Saint Lucie is causing waves, and we're not just talking about the Florida beaches. We'll speculate wildly about what his presence means for the team, from potential pep talks to the chance he's just there for the great weather. And the curveball of the episode: Senga starting the season on the IL. It's a plot twist not even we saw coming, and we'll explore how this impacts the Mets' game plan, with suggestions ranging from the plausible to the downright ridiculous. So grab your popcorn and your favorite Mets cap, and get ready for a rollercoaster ride of baseball banter. "The Put it in the Books Show" is where Mets talk meets comedy central, and Episode #1 of the 2024 Spring Training series is about to be a home run of hilarity! #PiitB #Mets --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/popculturepros/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/popculturepros/support

Pam: Tyler Hadley of Port Saint Lucie, Florida was FINALLY going to have the party that he had been telling his friends about for weeks. And since this was a sleepy town with nothing to do, his friends were pumped. Little did they know, if they would have only taken the time to look around the house, they may have noticed that something just wasn't quite right. Ronda: Most well known as the youngest killer in all of the UK, Mary Bell murdered two toddlers by the time she was 11 years old. You wouldn't be off base if you said she it was almost as if she liked watching the life drain out of her victims. For the past several weeks Bob and his wife have been at their home in Florida. During this time, which is now a little over a month, they attended the memorial service for Bob's son-in-law, conducted an ordination for his church body, and spent a lot of time on radio station work at both the shortwave station (WRMI) and a few other Christian broadcasters in the Port Saint Lucie area of Florida as well. Their original plans were to be back in Georgia a couple of weeks ago, but these needs have delayed their trip. As a result, this weekend's program is actually a program from one year ago, but is extremely almost "prophetic" in terms of where this radio show needs to change. Next weekend's show will explain more. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/your-weekend-show/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/your-weekend-show/support

Back in the 1970s, a series of bizarre incidents occurred at what has since been known as "The Devil Tree." Beneath this ancient denizen, evil was wrought by a sick serial killer, calling upon forces most evil and dark. People were hung there ... and bodies buried there ... exhumed by the police. Overcome by superstition, some tried to cut down the tree, to no avail. Since then, it has stood in a remote section of a local park --- left to its own devices --- quiet in its eerie repose -- until now! Best-selling psychological-thriller author Keith Rommel has imagined the whole tale anew. He's brought the tree to life and retold the tale with gory detail only possible in a fiction novel. Action-packed, with spine-tingling detail, this thriller is beyond parallel in the ground it uncovers ... one author's explanation of what may have really been said -- what may have really happened -- under Port St. Lucie's "Devil Tree." http://www.keithrommel.com/ Music by Capitol recording artists BANG. We're getting into the thick of 2019 Mets Spring Training and A Metsian Podcast is revved up for the final push to the 2019 season! The Mets, shocker, did not sign Bryce Harper but will have to continue to deal with him for potentially the next 13 years with him heading up 95 to Philadelphia. General Manager Brodie Van Wagenen cited depth and "spreading the funds around" as the reason to not make one big splash. As we've discussed on this podcast ad nasuem, however, the positive ramifications of such a signing were immediately felt in the Phillies box office and in jersey sales within the first 24 hours of the signing. This conversation has us spinning in circles, with the feeling of the Wilpons keeping us in baseball purgatory. Depth is desperately needed, and the Mets roster has already been tested, but couldn't we...have our cake and eat it too? LIVE at 8pm ET, join us for the piping hot, mid-Spring-Traiing Mets talk on the latest edition of A Metsian Podcast!
