NEW Bulletproof All-in AI Summit - 9 August, 2026 Why are humans still doing work that computers can do better? In this episode, Ian sits down with Dr. Peter Boulden and Dr. Craig Spodak to tackle what that question really means for dentistry, AI adoption, and the rapidly changing role of the front desk. The three explore how artificial intelligence is already transforming administrative work, patient communication, scheduling, documentation, and workflow management, and why the biggest mistake a dentist can make is assuming this technology won't reach their practice. Peter makes the case that even dentists who opt out will still feel the impact, because AI agents are already starting to make calls, book appointments, and gather information on behalf of patients. The flood of inbound is coming whether you are ready or not. That is why he frames the real choice as offense or defense: use AI to move your practice forward, or scramble to keep up without it. But the conversation isn't about replacing people. It's about removing repetitive work so team members can focus on the human experiences that matter most. Instead of spending hours on insurance verification, phone calls, and administrative tasks, team members can spend more time creating exceptional patient experiences, building relationships, and strengthening practice culture. The front desk is the highest-turnover, least-trained, most-overwhelmed position in most practices, and it is exactly where AI delivers the fastest relief. Done right, the receptionist does not lose the job. They get promoted out of the parts of it nobody ever wanted. DESCRIPTION The Bulletproof Dental Podcast Episode: 446 HOSTS: Dr. Peter Boulden, Dr. Craig Spodak, and Ian de Jongh In this episode, Peter Boulden, Craig Spodak, and Ian de Jongh explore how artificial intelligence is reshaping dental practices and what practice owners should be doing right now to stay ahead. The conversation covers AI receptionists, agentic AI, workflow automation, SOPs, practice management systems, and the opportunities available to independent dentists willing to embrace emerging technology. They also discuss why AI should be viewed as a tool for amplifying human connection rather than replacing it. Whether you're excited about AI, skeptical of it, or simply unsure where to begin, this episode offers practical insights into how technology is changing the future of dentistry. TAKEAWAYS AI is advancing faster than most dentists realize AI receptionists are becoming increasingly viable Agentic AI can perform tasks rather than simply answer questions SOPs are the foundation of successful AI implementation Practices that embrace AI early may gain significant advantages AI should enhance human connection, not replace it Administrative tasks are among the easiest workflows to automate Front desk teams can focus more on patient experience as repetitive tasks are removed Independent practices can leverage AI to compete at scale Technology is becoming a powerful equalizer in dentistry Resistance to AI will not stop its adoption The future belongs to practices that combine innovation with exceptional patient care. Step into Episode 206 of On The Delo as Delo sits down with Rick Miller of RLM Hospitality to talk about what really happens when a lifelong restaurant operator shifts from running the floor to helping restaurant groups understand their numbers. From growing up in Scottsdale and building his career in New York and Austin to returning to Arizona to launch RLM, Rick shares the experiences that shaped his views on hospitality, leadership, profitability, and quality of life. This conversation goes deep on the realities many operators avoid: late P&Ls, weak AP processes, unclear prime cost, hidden third-party delivery fees, and the risks of running a business by just looking at cash in the bank. Delo and Rick also unpack restaurant culture, training, sobriety, and why cutting costs the wrong way can damage service and become “a formula to go out of business.” If you're a restaurant owner, operator, finance leader, or hospitality entrepreneur, this episode delivers practical perspective on building a stronger and more sustainable business.Chapter Guide (Timestamps):(0:16 - 2:15) Intro, the Foodist Awards, and Why Hospitality Community Still Matters(2:26 - 5:24) Scottsdale Roots, New York City, and Falling in Love with Restaurants at Craft(5:25 - 8:06) Austin, Big Restaurant Projects, Marriage, and Life Changes(8:07 - 12:20) Hospitality Lifestyle, Drinking Culture, and Choosing a Better Path(12:21 - 15:34) Leadership, Financial Knowledge, and Why Culture Drives Restaurant Success(15:35 - 17:36) What RLM Hospitality Does and How Restaurant 365 Fits In(17:37 - 20:13) Weekly Soft Closes, Prime Cost, and Getting Financials on Time(20:14 - 21:58) Ideal Clients, White-Glove Implementation, and Restaurant Accounting Support(21:59 - 26:00) Low-Hanging Fruit, Bad AP Processes, Profit Leaks, and Profitability Gains(26:01 - End) Fit, Change Management, and Building Month-to-Month Client Partnerships
Do you ever find yourself stuck, overthinking a task you know you could do but just can't seem to start? Whether it's something small and tedious or a bigger project, that feeling of overwhelm can quickly turn into avoidance. In this episode, I'm sharing a simple but powerful technique I call Project Low-Hanging Fruit to help you move out of paralysis and into action. When a task feels like too much, your brain can spin into overthinking, trying to figure out the perfect plan before taking the first step. I walk you through how to break tasks down into extremely small, doable steps so that starting feels easy instead of intimidating. You'll also hear how to create a sense of urgency on purpose, interrupt overthinking, and build momentum in a way that actually works with your brain instead of against it. We're thinking about how to make the most of when kids are in the room for church gatherings. In this episode of the Effective Ministry Podcast, Meaghan Gates, Adam Joliffe, and Al James share some simple, practical “low-hanging fruit” to help include children and young people meaningfully. We start with a core conviction: kids aren't the “future church”—they're full members of the body of Christ right now. From there, we reflect on how we can unintentionally “other” children, especially through the way we speak, and how small shifts in language can make a big difference. We talk about using accessible (simple, not simplistic) language, speaking directly to children rather than about them, and giving equal weight to both the main gathering and kids' programs when children are dismissed. We also highlight the importance of celebrating children's contributions as genuine ministry, not performance. When it comes to preaching, we share a range of practical ideas to help engage all ages—things like creating multiple entry points through sermon sheets, using clear prompts and simple challenges tied to the big idea, incorporating visuals, building in short discussion moments, and intentionally resetting attention throughout the sermon. If you're planning for Easter—or any all-age gathering—these are ideas you can pick up and put into practice straight away.Timestamps 00:00 — Easter and all-age services 01:35 — Meet the hosts 02:27 — Why kids belong in the church now 03:41 — How language shapes culture 06:35 — A story of preacher anxiety 08:07 — Simple, not simplistic 11:13 — Speaking directly to children 13:51 — Valuing kids' church alongside the main gathering 15:09 — Celebrating ministry, not performance 18:18 — Praise as ministry 18:45 — Building momentum for kids serving 20:48 — Preaching: low-hanging fruit 22:48 — Sermon sheets and access points 25:22 — Using a simple “challenge” hook 27:38 — Visuals and interaction 30:13 — Re-engaging attention 33:09 — Building a culture of welcome over time 34:27 — Key takeaways and wrap-upConnect with YouthworksClick through to discover more about the Youthworks Ministry Support Team and how Youthworks can help you have an effective youth and children's ministry in your local church, or check out our Facebook Page. You can connect with the broader Youthworks family by clicking here. You can partner in the ministry of Youthworks by donating here.We would love to hear from you! Panel 3 delivers a candid, tactical, and deeply grounded look at how CEOs and founders grow without breaking—and how they choose what matters right now versus what builds the brand they want to become.

“Wicked Problems,” hosted by Richard Delevan, returns after a long hiatus and links escalating repression - newly including climate activists - with a high-stakes by-election in Greater Manchester. It opens with concerns about confrontational protest being met with violence and political repression, alongside Nigel Farage's Reform proposing a “UK deportation command,” expanding detention with “no chance of bail,” and “detention will mean deportation.” Devin cites New York Times reporting that the FBI has begun targeting climate activists, including people who have not protested in years, and frames this as part of a broader effort to quash dissent.Professor Dana R. Fisher of American University discusses what she describes as a “perfect storm” in the US: federal occupations of cities (highlighting Minneapolis), the murder of two American citizens while they were bearing witness to ICE actions, the president getting rid of the endangerment finding underlying US climate policy, and FBI investigations focusing on the "radical fringe" of the climate movement. Fisher argues these groups are “low hanging fruit” because their confrontational tactics (e.g., throwing paint, smearing food, blocking traffic, bird-dogging elected officials) are widely unpopular, making it easier for authorities to target them first as part of a broader slide toward autocracy that also threatens media freedoms. She says repression and violence against peaceful activists historically mobilize larger protests, even as it can lead to persecution, jail, and martyrdom. She also describes survey results from a Women's March–coordinated “Free America walkout” showing over 75% support for a movement becoming more confrontational and 65% willingness to personally engage in confrontational activism; she notes the participants were largely white, female, older, and highly educated.Prof. Fisher's Apocalyptic Optimist podcast.Britain has already jailed nonviolent climate protestors and restricted defenses in court, with ongoing debates about protest trials and labeling Palestine Action a terror group. The Gorton and Denton by-election seems to be between Reform, seeking to import Trump's climate and migration agenda, and the surging Green Party, treating climate, inequality, and migration as realities to face without losing humanity. The show notes a single constituency poll with Green candidate Hannah Spencer ahead of Reform's Matt Goodwin, with Labour (which has held the seat for a century) behind; as Labour is consumed by Epstein-linked arrests and scandal involving Peter Mandelson and former Prince Andrew. In an interview recorded late in 2025, Harriet Lamb, CEO of the Green Party of England and Wales, describes rapid growth following Zach Polanski's leadership, with membership doubling to over 150,000. Lamb connects her background in international development and environmental and social justice to party politics, argues the UK has shifted into a multi-party system creating both dangers and opportunities, and emphasizes a “people and planet” platform focused on the cost-of-living crisis, inequality, wealth taxes, and strong public support for climate action. She discusses candidate development through a “Greens to Parliament” program aimed at building a diverse slate for 2029, and says coalition politics must protect Green principles and public trust, citing German coalition negotiations and the Scottish Greens' Bute House agreement as examples.00:00 Confrontation and Repression01:35 Wicked Problems Returns04:11 FBI Targets Climate Activists07:42 Low Hanging Fruit and Autocracy19:18 UK By-Election and Green Surge29:32 Hope Surge and Outreach31:28 Broad Coalition and Core Values36:28 Vetting New Recruits38:39 Road to Parliament and Coalitions45:24 Milestones and Closing Reflections Hosted on Acast. Most advisors ignore the post-65 retirees sitting on their clients' health plans. They assume it's just a cost of doing business or that the employer wants to keep them on the same plan as active employees. But by failing to "carve out" this population, you are missing one of the biggest cost-containment strategies available, especially for self-funded groups. My guest, Ken Peterson, Regional Vice President at Benistar, joins me to demystify group retiree medical benefits. Ken explains why municipalities, unions, and family-owned businesses are prime candidates for this strategy, how moving retirees to a Group Medicare Advantage or Supplement plan can drastically lower the average age (and risk) of your active pool, and the specific questions you need to ask to uncover this opportunity. This is the guide to finding the hidden savings in your book of business.Chapters:(00:00:00) The "Low Hanging Fruit" of Benefits: Post-65 Retiree Plans (00:04:33) Who Needs This? Two-time Emmy and Three-time NAACP Image Award-winning, television Executive Producer Rushion McDonald interviewed Pastor Dexter Jenkins. Purpose of the Interview The interview aimed to educate and inspire listeners about wealth creation through real estate and financial literacy, particularly for individuals over 50. Pastor Jenkins shared strategies for building generational wealth, shifting mindsets about money, and leveraging real estate as a primary tool for financial independence. Key Takeaways Intersection of Faith, Finance, and BusinessPastor Jenkins emphasizes that faith and financial success are not mutually exclusive. He advocates using biblical principles as a success manual, especially from Proverbs. Real Estate as “Low-Hanging Fruit” for WealthReal estate is one of the simplest and most effective ways to build wealth because land is finite and historically valuable. Mindset Over MoneyWealth building starts with changing beliefs about money. Many misconceptions learned in childhood or church need to be unlearned. Refire, Don’t RetireFor those over 50, Jenkins encourages leveraging life experience to create new income streams instead of slowing down. Social Security Reality CheckThe average Social Security check (~$1,400/month) is insufficient for most Americans, highlighting the need for personal wealth strategies. Sue Straughan, a tenured hospitality specialist and Corporate Director of Business Solutions for the food distributor Ben E. Keith, shares her remarkable 40+ year journey in the industry, detailing how a necessity job at Baskin Robbins evolved into a profound passion. The discussion centers on her pivotal experience working for Houston's restaurant, where she learned that "chaos and hospitality could coexist in a way that was beautiful", and how she applied these high standards to help turn around the struggling James Coney Island chain. This success was achieved not by raising prices, but by relentlessly focusing on systems, consistency, team pride, and the overall guest experience, demonstrating that flawless execution on the basics is the key to driving sustained sales and word-of-mouth growth.10 Takeaways Prioritize Execution over Complexity: The most successful businesses, especially in restaurants, focus on doing fewer things perfectly rather than many things averagely. This requires a constant discipline to maintain simplicity. Hospitality and Chaos Coexist: High-volume restaurants (like Houston's with 1-3 hour waits) prove that it's possible to execute 100% flawlessly and maintain composure ("calm in the middle of chaos") by having robust systems and an intentional team culture. The Menu Should Serve the Concept: Keep the menu small and focused (e.g., Houston's one-page, 22-item menu). Introduce new items only if they meet strict time standards (e.g., eight minutes at lunch) and, if needed, replace an existing item to prevent complexity creep. Structure and Systems Build Culture: Employees thrive when they know what is expected of them. Implementing detailed, consistent systems, from cleaning standards to specific service greetings, creates a "well-oiled machine" and instills a sense of pride in the team. Invest in Your Team's Pride: Simple things like new uniforms, standardized training, and daily pre-shift meetings can significantly boost team mentality, tenure, and passion by making employees feel valued and reinforcing the importance of their role. Sales Growth Should Precede Price Hikes: The turnaround at James Coney Island focused first on driving sales by improving the guest experience before considering raising prices. The four ways to drive sales are: raise prices, encourage higher spend per visit, increase visit frequency, or attract new customers. Focus on Low-Hanging Fruit for Revitalization: Start improvement efforts by addressing what the customer sees first, such as clean parking lots, fresh paint, working signage, and clear glass. These visual cues are essential for first impressions. Measure and Reward Hospitality: Implementing a rigorous system like a 10-page mystery shopper report, coupled with accountability and financial rewards for achieving high scores (e.g., $1,000 manager bonus), can directly correlate with rising sales. Focus on What You Can Control: Don't rely on external factors like the weather to drive business. Concentrate effort and resources on perfecting the inside of your four walls: the guest's experience from driving by to walking out. Reverse-Engineer Customer Frustration: Identify the top five things consumers are most frustrated with in your industry (e.g., long waits, inconsistent quality) and intentionally do the exact opposite to stand out and "blow their mind."

As the Vegetable and Berry Specialist at the University of Vermont for 35 years, Vern has a lot of experience with helping growers improve their high tunnel tomato production. One of the best ways to find out what is working on actual farms is with a survey- in 2024 Vern and his team did a survey of 48 tunnel tomato growers (heated and unheated) that included growing practices and yields, in order to correlate the best practices to the best yields. In this conversation, we talk about the conclusions we can draw from this survey, highlighting the best practices and prioritizing the smallest changes that can have the biggest impact on yields. We discuss everything from variety selection to grafting, root zone heating, planting density and biological controls. Ultimately, the biggest changes came from: using the long-term high tunnel soil test, adding up to 4 drip lines per bed, improving ventilation with gable end vents and HAF fans, and automating roll-up sides. We break it all down with Vern and if you'd like to see the slides made from his study results, they're in the show notes below. In this episode of The Rainmaking Podcast, Scott Love welcomes back Kevin Wheeler, a seasoned business development consultant with over 30 years of experience advising law and professional services firms on strategy, marketing, and client growth. Together, they explore “Growing Key Clients: The Low-Hanging Fruit of Business Development.” Kevin explains that most firms overlook their most lucrative opportunities—their existing clients. Rather than constantly chasing new business, firms can achieve greater profitability by deepening relationships with key accounts and institutionalizing client management. Kevin outlines the major barriers preventing firms from capitalizing on these opportunities, including compensation structures that reward origination over collaboration and a lack of leadership support for client-focused strategies. He provides a roadmap for building a strong key client program: secure buy-in from firm leadership, appoint dedicated client relationship partners, conduct regular client listening interviews, and link compensation to client growth goals. By developing structured account plans, engaging clients directly for feedback, and mapping relationships strategically, firms can uncover untapped opportunities, strengthen retention, and create long-term growth.
