In this episode of The Conference Room, Simon welcomes Calvin Corelli, founder and CEO of Simpler, entrepreneur, software engineer, and creator of the Mind Bug framework. Calvin shares how his journey from programming and entrepreneurship evolved into a deeper exploration of mindset, identity, and personal transformation. The conversation explores the challenges business owners face with fragmented systems, the hidden beliefs that limit growth, and how simplifying both business operations and internal thinking can unlock greater success, freedom, and fulfillment.Calvin explains how combining programming, entrepreneurship, and personal development created the foundation for his success and differentiated approach to business.A deep identity and meaning crisis in his early thirties became the catalyst for developing his coaching philosophy and the concept of Mind Bugs.Business owners often spend more time fixing integrations and troubleshooting systems than serving customers and growing their companies.Mind Bugs are deeply rooted limiting beliefs that shape how people experience life, business, and relationships without realizing it.Many entrepreneurs unknowingly make decisions, overwork, seek validation, or chase success because of an underlying belief that they are not enough. The first step to overcoming limiting beliefs is learning to see them clearly. Once exposed, they begin losing their power.Calvin explains that repeating positive statements rarely creates lasting change if the underlying belief system remains untouched.Rather than viewing mistakes as failures, Calvin encourages seeing them as experiences that provide valuable lessons and direction. The conversation explores how judgment, resistance, and attachment often create more suffering than the circumstances themselves.Calvin shares how AI is helping coaches and educators make their content more accessible, personalized, and actionable for students and clients. To learn more about Calvin Corelli, please visit her LinkedIn profileTo learn more about Simplero, please visit its website.YOUR HOST - SIMON LADER Simon Lader is the host of The Conference Room, Co-Founder of global executive search firm Salisi Human Capital, and lead generation consultancy Flow and Scale. You think you know who your avatar is. You're probably wrong. Not because you haven't thought about it. Not because you lack experience or expertise. But because most coaches are describing their avatar from the top of the mountain, in language that makes total sense to them and zero sense to the person at the base. That is the avatar problem. And it is not the avatar's problem. It's yours. In this episode, Adam and Jess are naming the thing that sits underneath every marketing frustration, every slow launch, every "I don't know why this isn't working" moment in a coaching business. If you are not getting enough clients, your avatar clarity is almost certainly part of the reason. It's not the only variable, but it is the one that makes every other variable harder to fix.The avatar problem shows up in a few specific ways. Some coaches have it because they are trying to speak to everyone and therefore speaking to no one. Some coaches have it because they have built their messaging around a job title or industry rather than a lived problem they have actually solved. And some coaches have it because they are so deep in the expertise of their niche that they've lost the ability to speak in the language of someone who hasn't arrived there yet.Adam and Jess have had every version of this problem themselves. The challenge was called the "10K Coaching Offer Challenge" for years. The intensive was the "Quarter Million Coach Intensive." Both were named for an old version of an old avatar, built around aspirational income language that made sense to them and filtered out the exact coach who needed them most. When they ran their own positioning through the Maslow Mountain filter, they renamed both. Not because the content changed. Because the avatar did.IN THIS EPISODE: - Why "if you don't have enough clients, you might have an avatar problem" is the fastest self-diagnostic you can run right now- The Rory Vaden principle that actually defines who you are built to serve (and it has nothing to do with credentials or certifications)- Why the specialist always beats the generalist, and the cardiac surgeon story that makes it click permanently- The two ways coaches speak about their avatar publicly, and why only one of them generates referrals- Adam's 30-year-old tennis evaluation sheet and the moment he realized he should have been coaching serves, not tennis- The relevance pitch framework, what it is and why "internal niche, external relevant" is the rule that ends the verbal vomit problem- What happened to the challenge participant who walked in with a five-minute monologue and walked out with a six-word sentence- Why imposter syndrome, silo-building, and unclear avatar language are the exact same problem wearing three different outfits- How Adam and Jess renamed both their challenge and their intensive after running their own language through the Maslow filterTHE BIG IDEA: Your avatar is not defined by who you want to serve. It is defined by who you are actually built to serve, the person walking the path you have already walked. The coach who gets clear on that stops chasing clients and starts attracting them. But here is the part most coaches skip: your language for that avatar cannot come from the top of the mountain. You have to climb back down, remember what it felt like to stand at the base, and speak from there.MEMORABLE LINES FROM THIS EPISODE: "The avatar problem is not the avatar's problem. You have an avatar problem because you don't know specifically what you solve.""We don't want you to appeal to the masses. Do not appeal to the masses. We want you to appeal to a very small subset of the masses because you are a specialist in this space.""Internal niche, external relevant. That's the key.""I can't tell you the majority of the nurses that were in my son's NICU room, but you bet your bottom dollar I can name first and last name the doctor who did my son's heart surgery.""The worst language that we hear comes from the people who build in a silo the most."YOUR ONE THING THIS WEEK: Run the two-question self-diagnostic. First: do you have enough clients? If the answer is no, your avatar language is worth a hard look. Second: take your current way of describing what you do and read it out loud to someone who has no context for your niche. If they look confused, ask more questions, or go quiet, that is not engagement. That is polite disengagement. Start there. Simpler, cleaner, more specific to the problem. Not to the credential. Not to the methodology. The problem.CONNECT WITH ADAM AND JESS: If this one hit close to home, come find us at ilovecoachingco.com. That is where our upcoming events live, where the community is, and where you can connect with us directly. If you are ready to stop building alone and start getting real feedback on your avatar and your offer, the Sellable Offer Challenge is the place to start. ilovecoachingco.com/challenge If you know a coach who keeps saying their marketing isn't working but can't explain who they help in one clear sentence, send them this one. That is exactly who this episode is for.Follow the show: @ilovecoachingco on Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, and FacebookKEY THEMES: - Avatar clarity as a business diagnostic, not a branding exercise- Maslow's Mountain as a positioning filter- Specialist vs. generalist in coaching- Relevance pitch: internal niche, external relevance- Lived experience as the foundation of authority- Silo-building and its relationship to imposter syndrome- Public language vs. enrollment language for coaches- Feedback as a competitive advantage in offer development
Starting a nonprofit can feel inspiring until the paperwork, confusion, and red tape slow everything down. In this episode, Rachel Gogos sits down with Christian LeFer, founder and CEO of Instant Nonprofit, to talk about how mission-driven founders can move from idea to 501(c)(3) without getting buried in complexity. Christian has helped thousands of changemakers launch and grow nonprofit organizations by removing the legal, administrative, and operational barriers that often keep great ideas from moving forward. In this conversation, he shares how simplicity creates momentum, why fundraising is really about inviting people into a bigger mission, and how automation, AI, and authentic human connection can help nonprofits scale with more ease and impact. Why Simplicity Creates Momentum Christian's early experience in fundraising changed the way he viewed nonprofit work. He stopped seeing fundraising as "asking for money" and started seeing it as an invitation for people to be part of something meaningful. That perspective shaped Instant Nonprofit. Instead of making founders navigate complexity on their own, Christian built a process designed to remove friction and make starting a nonprofit feel more approachable. He also shares an important lesson from an early software failure: technology alone doesn't solve the problem. The process has to work first. By simplifying the customer experience before layering in automation, Instant Nonprofit was able to scale while still delivering personalized support. Building Human-Centered Brands in the Age of AI As AI and automation continue to reshape business, Christian believes authenticity will become even more valuable. Rachel and Christian talk about why people want real stories, transparency, and human connection from the organizations they support. They also explore how team members can build trust by showing personality, sharing experiences, and genuinely caring about the customer experience. The episode also looks at the future of philanthropy, including the growing number of entrepreneurs and families using nonprofits and foundations to connect financial success with legacy, purpose, and long-term impact. Enjoy this episode with Christian LeFer… Soundbytes 04:58–05:23 "Once I flipped around that way I looked at fundraising and that way I looked at what was that exchange for something, I wasn't selling them a product. I was just giving them a good feeling. But, the good feeling is actually — to recall the old MasterCard commercial — the good feeling is what's priceless, right? Inviting someone to feel like they have a bigger part of life by giving them an opportunity to do something they can't do." 21:39–21:46 "People just want a real experience, and they want to deal with real people. They don't want to buy from companies. They want to buy from people." Quotes "You're really inviting people to a bigger life. You're adding to their life; you're not taking away." "What automation allows us to do is allow our humans to be most human." "Anything short of somebody snapping their fingers and wishing the nonprofit into existence is still an obstacle for the customer." "People don't want polished perfection anymore. They want real people and real experiences." "There's nothing wrong with doing well while doing good." In this episode of the Tough Girl Podcast, we meet Chloe Stead — 42 years old and currently living in a rustic tiny shack in the bush in Tasmania with her husband — but her journey to this simple life has been anything but ordinary. Since 2008, Chloe has been living a travelling, nomadic lifestyle. After leaving school at 18 to join the Navy and later working in health and safety in Perth, Australia, she reached a quiet breaking point while staying at the Whim Creek Hotel in 2006. A simple but powerful thought surfaced: There has to be more to life than this. Within a week, she sold her house, packed up a shipping container, took her dog, and began driving solo around Australia with just $500 AUD — despite being petrified of sleeping in a tent. That leap of faith set the course for the next chapter of her life. But Chloe's story is not just about adventure — it's about grief, reinvention, and learning to live on her own terms. After the sudden death of her partner Willy in 2013, everything stopped. In the depths of grief, Chloe stepped away from social media, let go of her old life, and slowly began again. Meditation, yoga retreats, and eventually walking the Camino de Santiago in 2014 became turning points. Carrying everything on her back, she discovered a deep love for minimalism, simplicity, and self-reliance. Over the years, Chloe has: Walked multiple Caminos including the Camino del Norte, Camino Primitivo and Via de la Plata Hitchhiked and walked along the beaches of Uruguay Taken a 10,000km road trip with her dog Dexter Lived off less than $100 AUD per week Worked seasonally to fund months of adventure Cycled from Alaska to San Francisco (86 nights in a tent!) Walked the Wales Coast Path and the Portuguese Camino Chosen to stay off social media to be fully present on trail Now married, Chloe continues to design a life built around freedom, movement, and intentional simplicity. With big adventures planned for 2026 — including walking the South West Coast Path and the GR10 — she shares honestly about navigating partnership on trail, managing knee issues, strength training gains, and why getting to the start line is often the hardest part. This conversation is about: Letting go of possessions and expectations Living with uncertainty Processing grief through movement Creating "trail life" off-trail Why you don't need technology to experience adventure Trusting that the universe conspires to keep you going And why you should "give it a crack and get to the start line." Chloe's message is simple but powerful: Life is uncertain. Don't put things off. If there's something you want to do — take the plunge. *** New episodes of the Tough Girl Podcast drop every Tuesday at 7 AM (UK time)! Show Notes In this episode of Be a Smarter Homeowner, Beth Dodson talks with Nicole Jacques, home system strategist and creator of the House CEO philosophy, about how the products, routines, and systems inside our homes can affect both our health and our peace of mind. Nicole shares how her own pregnancy and later autoimmune diagnosis pushed her to examine the hidden environmental factors inside the home, leading her into the world of low-tox living. Together, Beth and Nicole unpack what "low tox" really means, why so many so-called "clean" products are confusingly marketed, and how homeowners can make healthier swaps without becoming overwhelmed. Nicole emphasizes that low-tox living is not about perfection. It is about reducing toxic load step by step, especially with the products and systems you use every day. The conversation also digs into synthetic fragrance, air quality, and the reality that many homeowners have never been taught how to properly care for a home. Nicole explains why overwhelm often comes from a knowledge gap, not laziness, and offers a more realistic, forgiving approach to home care: fewer products, fewer decisions, more routines, and lower standards in the right places. They also cover practical issues homeowners often overlook, including dryer vent safety, the health impact of stagnant indoor air, the value of air scrubbers and filters, and why functionality matters more than aesthetics when creating a home that truly supports your life. Nicole closes with three simple takeaways: do not aim for perfection, start with what you use every day, and find community so the process feels lighter and more doable. Key Takeaways Your home environment may be affecting your health more than you realize. Low-tox living does not have to be all-or-nothing. Replace products gradually as they run out. Synthetic fragrance often masks problems instead of solving them. Clean air and clean water are some of the best places to start. Many homeowners feel overwhelmed because nobody taught them how to care for a home. A home should feel like a safe place, not a second job. Buying more products usually adds complexity instead of solving the problem. Function matters more than "pretty" when creating a healthy home. Dryer vent maintenance is a major fire-prevention issue. Simpler routines can improve both your home and your well-being. sound bites "Fragrance can be endocrine disruptors." "Lower your standards for a healthier home." "Simplify and praise your progress." What if the thing you've been overlooking is actually the thing that could change everything? In a world obsessed with fast bookings and digital files, it's easy to believe you need more clients, more hustle, and more content to succeed. But the photographers building sustainable, profitable businesses are often doing something much quieter, and far more meaningful. In this week's Joycast, Sarah Petty breaks down the "boring" business model that helped her go from overwhelmed mom of three to one of America's most profitable photographers. This episode is a powerful reminder that success doesn't come from chasing trends. It comes from serving people deeply and creating artwork that actually matters in their lives. Here's a peek at what you'll walk away with: • Why selling wall portraits creates more freedom, profit, and connection than chasing high-volume sessions • The mindset shift that helps beginner photographers confidently charge more, even without a perfect portfolio • How simple systems, not talent alone, are what truly create thrilled clients and repeat referrals If you've been feeling exhausted trying to "keep up" with the photography industry, this episode might feel like permission to build your business differently. Looking for a financial planner? → PlanWithJesse.com In this Ask Me Anything episode, Jesse explores the delicate balance between overcomplicating and oversimplifying financial decisions in retirement, arguing that while many investors get lost in unnecessary complexity, others fall into equally dangerous "too simple" thinking. He tackles four listener questions that highlight this tension across key planning topics. First, he critiques advanced tax-loss harvesting strategies like long-short and direct indexing approaches, explaining that while they can generate short-term "tax alpha," they often rely on leverage, incur higher fees, and merely defer—rather than eliminate—taxes, raising the question of whether investors are letting the tax tail wag the investing dog. Next, he addresses withdrawal rates, pushing back on the overly simplistic idea that earning 8% supports a perpetual 5% withdrawal, and instead emphasizes sequence-of-returns risk and the importance of flexible spending, framing the 4% rule as a conservative starting point rather than a fixed law. He then dives into Social Security strategy, debunking fears of system collapse, outlining the real implications of trust fund depletion, and demonstrating how optimal claiming decisions—especially for couples—depend heavily on longevity, spousal dynamics, and the value of delaying benefits as a form of longevity insurance. Finally, Jesse examines portfolio rebalancing, clarifying that its purpose is risk control—not return enhancement—and, drawing on research, argues that a simple annual rebalancing approach (augmented by ongoing cash flow adjustments) is both efficient and sufficient. Across all four topics, the unifying theme is clear: good financial planning lives in the nuanced middle ground—simple enough to execute, but not so simple that it ignores the real complexities that drive long-term outcomes. Key Takeaways: • Financial planning often fails at both extremes: too complex or too simplistic. The optimal approach lies in a nuanced middle ground tailored to real-world conditions. • Investors should avoid letting tax considerations override sound investment decisions. • A portfolio gaining value consistently is not a problem—even if it limits tax-loss opportunities. • Sequence-of-returns risk makes early retirement years disproportionately important. • For couples, Social Security claiming decisions must consider spousal and survivor benefits. • Rebalancing is about maintaining risk levels, not boosting returns. Annual rebalancing, combined with adjusting contributions and withdrawals, is typically optimal and efficient. A graduation-season episode turns into a surprisingly deep conversation about careers in the age of AI, anchored by a New York Times article from Jodi Kantor. Don and Tom explore the idea that successful careers are built not by chasing trends, but by developing a personal “craft” and aligning it with real-world need. They connect that concept to investing discipline—ignore noise, focus on what you can control—and emphasize experimentation early in life. The back half pivots to listener questions, where Don dismantles buffered ETFs as overly complex, critiques commission-laden annuity practices masquerading as fiduciary advice, clarifies Social Security spousal benefits, and takes apart the flawed comparison between low-cost index bond funds and leveraged, high-fee active products like the PIMCO Income Fund. The throughline: complexity, whether in careers or investing, is usually a trap.0:05 Graduation season and why young people face a radically different job market1:36 AI, automation, and the uncertainty of future careers2:00 NYT article breakdown—“craft” and “need” as career anchors5:01 Why developing a unique skill set matters more than chasing trends6:37 College as a poor place to discover real-world “craft”7:19 Weekly self-reflection exercise: track what you enjoy vs. hate7:30 Generational career fads—from Japan to “plastics”9:15 Mentorship vs. going it alone in career development10:50 Real-world example: finding a career through evolving skills12:00 Parallels between career decisions and investing discipline13:39 Taking risks early in life when stakes are lower14:32 Listener question: buffered ETFs vs. bonds for stability17:11 Why buffered ETFs deliver limited upside and hidden risks19:39 Counterparty risk explained with 2008 auction-rate securities story21:56 Simpler alternatives: CDs and municipal bonds23:47 Industry hypocrisy: annuities inside “fiduciary” environments24:46 Why putting IRA money into annuities makes no sense25:30 Social Security spousal benefit basics explained26:39 Advisor claim: higher fees justified in certain asset classes27:57 Breaking down active bond fund risks vs. index funds29:44 Leverage dangers in funds like PIMCO Income31:38 SPIVA reality: active managers rarely outperform long termQuestions? In this episode of Strategy with Sally, Sally wraps up the Systems That Save Your Sanity series by focusing on simplifying your backend systems. She explains how complexity quietly builds over time—through added tools, multiple processes, and "temporary" workarounds that become permanent. While everything may still function, the accumulation creates friction, slows you down, and increases mental load. Sally highlights that having too many tools, scattered information, and multiple ways of doing the same task forces you to constantly search, decide, and remember—making your business feel harder than it should. Instead of adding more, she encourages a shift toward simplifying what already exists—reducing tools, steps, and variations to create a clearer, more consistent way of working. ✨ Key takeaway: Simpler is better. When you reduce friction in your backend, your business becomes easier to manage, more consistent, and more sustainable as you grow. Start small: choose one area of your backend, identify what feels unnecessarily complicated, and simplify just one thing to create immediate relief and ease. Airway management hasn't changed much in decades but that doesn't mean it can't be improved. As more procedures move into outpatient settings and deep sedation becomes more common, the need for better oxygen delivery and reliable monitoring has never been more important. That's where the Aeris Airways device comes in. It's a simple but powerful innovation designed to enhance standard airway tools, and we're diving into it with Cody Birch, CRNA and Airways Innovations Co-Founder, and Diana Lugo Imus, DNAP, CRNA. Here's some of what you'll hear in this episode:
"If you chase two rabbits, you won't catch either." Most shooters and athletes fail because they try to improve everything at once. Today I discuss building "Benchmark Battery." It's a simple, rotating system for building strong performance over the long haul.
Launching an MVNO may sound straightforward. In practice, it is anything but.Recorded live at MWC 2026 in Barcelona, Matthew Roberts is joined by Andy Hopkins, CTO of MVNX Link, and Amdocs' Mark Prudhoe for a conversation about what it really takes to bring new mobile providers to market. Together, they unpack the hidden complexity behind customer onboarding, billing, upgrades, top-ups, and service transitions, and why improving the customer journey remains one of the most important, and underestimated, challenges in the MVNO space. The discussion explores how the partnership between MVNX Link and Amdocs is designed to simplify that complexity: combining a SaaS-based platform, a practical customization layer, and a faster path to launch for MVNOs and MVNEs looking to get to market with less cost and less friction.

In today's Cloud Wars Minute, I explain why Oracle's AWS partnership signals a new era of cloud interoperability. Highlight 00:03 — Recently, my colleague Bob Evans reported on a new initiative from AWS called Interconnect multicloud aimed at enhancing the company's multi-cloud offerings. Now, Oracle has announced that it will leverage AWS Interconnect multicloud to expand its multi-cloud networking capabilities. 00:31 — Oracle is enabling high-performance connectivity between Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and AWS by connecting Oracle Interconnect with AWS Interconnect multicloud. Now, as a result, Oracle customers will gain, and I quote, access to "a fast, private, managed connection to run applications and move data seamlessly between OCI and AWS." 01:00 — This new connectivity will support both full and split-stack multi-cloud deployments, empowering customers to confidently leverage the benefits of both cloud providers without the management complexity that previously posed major challenges. 01:14 — Nathan Thomas, Senior Vice President, Product Management at Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, said the following: "Oracle continues to advance multi-cloud connectivity as part of its commitment to help customers unlock flexibility, agility, and performance across clouds." 01:40 — Once again, we see Oracle at the forefront of multi-cloud connectivity, quickly integrating with a competitor's product to ensure that its customers are always in a position to realize their business ambitions, most notably in the AI space, without the issues of dispersed systems, data silos, and latency. The Fire That Remains Life in the Spirit After the Collapse of the Religious Self Week II — Remaining in the Fire Without Rebuilding the Self The Spirit as the One Who Teaches Us to Endure ⸻ Opening Invocation O Heavenly King, Comforter, Spirit of Truth, Who art everywhere present and fillest all things, Treasury of blessings and Giver of life, Come and dwell in us, Cleanse us from every impurity, And save our souls, O Good One. ⸻ I. After the Collapse — The More Dangerous Work Begins Last week we spoke of the fire. Of illumination. Of exposure. Of the collapse of the false life. But there is something more dangerous than never entering this fire. It is entering it and then leaving too soon. Because once a man has begun to see once the structures begin to loosen once the illusions begin to fall there arises an almost irresistible need: 1 To stabilize. To regain footing. To become something again. Even if that “something” is humbler. Even if it is quieter. Even if it uses the language of repentance. The self does not disappear easily. It adapts. It reforms. It survives even inside what appears to be its own death. And so the second work of the Spirit is not simply to expose. It is to keep a man in the place where exposure continues. ⸻ II. The Subtle Rebuilding of the Religious Self You will begin to notice this almost immediately. A thought arises: “I understand now.” “I see more clearly.” “I am different than I was.” And these thoughts feel true. They feel justified. They feel like the fruit of grace. 2 But hidden within them is the beginning of reconstruction. Because the ego does not need grand illusions. It can build itself out of something very small. Even the awareness of one's own brokenness. Even the language of humility. You begin to identify yourself as: The one who sees The one who has suffered The one who is being purified The one who understands the deeper life And without realizing it you have become something again. Subtler. More refined. But still centered in yourself. “Do not trust in your own righteousness.” — cf. Luke 18:9 The Pharisee was not condemned for sin. He was condemned because he became something in his own eyes. And this is the danger now. ⸻ III. The Spirit Leads Into a Place With No Ground The Spirit does something that feels unbearable. 3 He removes not only falsehood but also the ground beneath your feet. You cannot rely on what you once knew. You cannot return to previous ways of praying. You cannot even take comfort in what seems like progress. Everything becomes unstable. And this is not confusion. It is purification. Because as long as a man has ground he stands on himself. Even if that ground is spiritual. Even if it is noble. Even if it is built on real experiences. The Spirit removes this. So that a man learns something new: To stand without standing. To remain without possessing. To live without securing himself. ⸻ IV. The Poverty of Not Knowing There is a kind of darkness here. 4 Not the darkness of sin. But the darkness of not knowing. You no longer know: Where you are. What is happening. Who you are becoming. You cannot interpret your life. You cannot explain your interior state. And the mind resists this violently. Because the mind wants clarity. It wants to define. It wants to grasp. But the Spirit teaches a man to let go of knowing. “Be still, and know that I am God.” (Psalm 45/46) Not: Understand and know. Explain and know. Analyze and know. Be still. And this stillness feels like death to the mind. Because the mind loses its authority. ⸻ 5 V. The Prayer That Remains When Everything Else Falls At this stage, prayer changes. It becomes poorer. Simpler. More fragile. You may find that you cannot pray as before. Words feel empty. Thoughts feel forced. Even spiritual reading feels distant. And what remains? Often only this: A cry. Or even less than a cry. A turning. A presence. The Jesus Prayer begins to take on a different character. Not as something you do. But as something you cling to when everything else has fallen away. “Prayer is the refuge of help... a haven that rescues from the tempest.” — St. Isaac the Syrian Not a method. Not a discipline. But a lifeline. 6 And even this may feel dry. And still you remain. ⸻ VI. The Temptation to Interpret the Process One of the greatest dangers here is the need to interpret what is happening. To name it. To define it. To place it within a framework. You begin to say: “This is purification.” “This is the dark night.” “This is growth.” And while these things may not be false they become a way of regaining control. Because once something is named it is contained. And the Spirit resists this containment. He leads a man into something that cannot be mastered. Cannot be reduced. Cannot be explained. Because the goal is not understanding. It is transformation. 7 And transformation often happens in a way that the mind cannot follow. ⸻ VII. The Hidden Work of Endurance What, then, is required? Very little. And everything. Not effort in the way we understand it. But endurance. To remain in prayer even when it feels empty. To remain turned toward God even when nothing is felt. To remain in truth even when it exposes you again and again. This is not passive. It is a quiet, fierce consent. A willingness to be worked upon. A refusal to flee. “In your patience possess your souls.” (Luke 21:19) The fathers speak of this as long-suffering. But we often misunderstand this. It is not merely enduring hardship. It is enduring the work of God within us. 8 ⸻ VIII. The Fear of Losing Everything At some point, a deeper fear emerges. Not just the fear of being seen. But the fear of losing everything. Your sense of self. Your sense of direction. Even your sense of God. Because God Himself may seem hidden. Silent. Distant. And this is where many turn back. Not into sin. But into something safer. Something more defined. Something more manageable. But the Spirit leads further. Into a place where even God is not grasped. But only trusted. “Lord, to whom shall we go? Thou hast the words of eternal life.” (John 6:68) Not: Lord, I understand. Lord, I feel. Lord, I possess. 9 But: To whom shall we go? There is nowhere else. So we remain. ⸻ IX. The Beginning of True Freedom And slowly, something begins to change. Not dramatically. Not in a way that can be grasped. But subtly. The need to define begins to loosen. The need to possess begins to fade. The need to be something begins to weaken. And a different kind of freedom appears. Not the freedom to act. But the freedom not to construct yourself. A quietness. A simplicity. A lightness. You begin to exist without constantly referring back to yourself. And this is the beginning of life in the Spirit. 10 Not power. Not experience. But freedom from the tyranny of self. ⸻ X. Closing Exhortation Do not flee this place. Do not rush to understand. Do not rebuild what is being taken from you. Remain. Even when you do not know how to remain. Even when prayer feels empty. Even when God feels distant. Remain. Because the Spirit is not absent. He is working more deeply than you can perceive. And what He is forming in you cannot be formed in any other way. ⸻ 11 Closing Prayer Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, Thou who didst endure the silence of the Cross, grant us the grace to endure the silence within our own hearts. Teach us to remain when all else falls away. Deliver us from the need to grasp, to define, to become something. And grant that, in losing ourselves, we may find our life hidden in Thee. Amen. 12

In today's episode, I sit down with Christian LeFer, founder and CEO of InstantNonprofit, who has helped launch nearly 5,000 nonprofits by removing the friction that stops people from acting on their purpose. We talk about why so many well-intentioned founders quit, how time and uncertainty kill momentum, and how he reduced a 50-hour process into something that can take under 30 minutes. Christian shares how his upbringing shaped his mission, why nonprofit work is about spirit over structure, and how AI can free us to better listen, connect, and serve. This conversation centers on turning intention into action at scale.

It started the way so many good ideas do, in conversation. Jen Edds, Lisa Mitchell, CFI, and I started talking about creating something different. Not another conference. Not another room where people talk at you. We wanted a space where smart women could actually talk with each other. And then, on March 26, we did it. This conversation is a bit of a celebration, a look back at what happens when you take an idea out of the group chat and bring it to life. Because honestly, that leap from “we should” to “we did” is where most ideas stall out. Here's what stuck with me. Takeaways: • Pick one thing and go all in I'll admit it, even as a marketer, I needed this reminder. One clear call to action, one place to send people. When everything matters, nothing stands out. Simpler really is smarter. • Borrow boldly and share freely Some of the best ideas in the room weren't “original.” They were tested, tweaked, and passed along. That's the magic. Less guarding, more sharing. We all get better faster. • Real conversations beat polished presentations We kicked things off by talking about what we'd messed up. And just like that, the walls came down. No posturing, no pretending. Just honest lessons and a lot of “oh good, it's not just me.” • Create the room you wish existed Don't wait for an invite. Build your own table. We kept it local, kept it small, and invited a mix of people we knew and people we didn't. • Let the agenda breathe Instead of locking into a rigid schedule, we let the group shape the conversation. People voted on topics, and the discussion flowed from there. It felt more like a conversation and less like a conference. • Community doesn't end when the event does The real opportunity is what happens next. Staying connected, sharing resources, continuing the conversation. That's where the long term value lives. If you're listening and thinking, “I wish I'd been in that room,” you might get your chance. We're doing it again on June 11. Reach out. Raise your hand. Pull up a chair. Because the next great idea might be yours, and it deserves a room like this. In this episode on The 3-Lane Highway: A Simpler Way to Attract Referrals Without Feeling Salesy, Erin Bradley shares: The likely reason your outreach feels heavy, forced, or transactional — and it's not the action plan itself. The fastest way to become more magnetic… and it's not to chase business. The 3-Lane Highway strategy and how it helps you identify who you want to serve, who else serves them, and who in your broader community can connect the dots. Why the goal is not to "work your database" in a salesy way, and to start meaningful conversations rooted in curiosity, contribution, and connection. When you focus on your 25% people — the people who already love you, trust you, and naturally align with your energy — business growth feels lighter, easier, and far more sustainable.
