This week we join Ps Phil for an eye opening and faith stretching conversation with Richard Green, pastor of C3 Ryde and C3 Church Global Regional Director of the Reach Network. C3 Reach Network is a region of churches within the C3 Church Global family with church locations in countries stretching across the Arab world including North Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia. Our C3 pastors in these regions are absolute heroes in the faith; planting churches and reaching people for Christ, in the face of intense persecution. Many of these churches are experiencing miraculous growth and impact in their respective nations as the people in these nations are hungering for the truth, the freedom and the power of gospel of Jesus. Ps Phil and Richard are joined in this conversation by Ps Azvanur of C3 Reach Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan who recently hosted our regional conference in the area. Don't let this conversation pass you by - may your faith be inspired and strengthen by these incredible stories, and please remember to keep all these amazing pastors and their churches in your prayers.

In May 2020, the disturbing murder of George Floyd was recorded and shared globally. There was outrage, leading to global protests and pledges made by various organisations that they were committed to making a change to how the voices of ethnic minorities in particular, would be acknowledged and appreciated. Two years on, how much has really changed? In this podcast episode, Ipsos's REACH (Race, Ethnicity and Cultural Heritage) Network Co-Chairs, Scarlett Luo and Belinda Lartey discuss the main takeaways from Ipsos' research amongst workers in the UK that explored their views on the extent to which their workplaces have changed in the last 2 years. Believe it or not, there was a time when the church you are in now was nothing more than a dream in someone's mind! But whoever it was that started it could never have done it alone - others had to help. In fact, the EFCA itself started as a church planting movement. Even our mission statement begins with the word "Multiply." So in this episode, Andrew Hoffman, EFCA Director of Church Multiplication, walks us through how church planting leaders from across the nation have come together to produce the Reach Network: the most strategic national church planting effort in decades for the EFCA. You'll hear the story of how God put together a new multiplication team out of a terrible tragedy, and how men and women across districts are working together to produce systems that are state of the art for assessing, coaching, and training new planters. Finally, you'll learn how you can be a part of it, because this is an "all hands on deck" effort. Andrew and his family planted a church fifteen years ago in Berkeley, CA, and no matter where you are in ministry, you can learn from his experience. For more information on how to get involved in this pivotal church planting effort, reach out to him at andrew.hoffman@efca.org and check out the EFCA church multiplication page.

This conference brings together design researchers from various backgrounds (including anthropology) from around the world to explore how best to contribute to real and meaningful change in organisations, in economies and within societies. The conference is initiated and hosted by the Reach Network, a global network of agencies specialising in human-centred design research and service innovation. The overall theme for GOOD19 is ‘Considerate Transformation'. Rather than identifying and developing solutions to any need or demand, collaboratively considering the added value for the wider ecosystem of individuals, groups and environments is key. This holistic perspective is a natural extension of the by now widely accepted human centred design approach to service innovation. In today's episode we are joined by Geke van Dijk, Social Scientist, Co-founder and Director STBY at REACH Global Design Research and Organizer to discuss GOOD2019, its current theme and panels on the topic of Considerate Transformation, June, 27th London, UK. Event registration is open Mentioned in Podcast: STBY Reach Network Social media and other links: http://reach-network.com/events-publications/good-conferences/good-19/
Do you take the time to really reflect on your work and consciously think if the things you're doing are impactful? I guess we all recognise this to a certain degree: When you're caught up with the day to day operational stuff you rarely of (or rather take) the time to think critically about what you're doing. And we all know where that sometimes leads to... So in this episode Fumiko Ichikawa talks about ways to find more balance between thinking and doing as a design practitioner. We also look at another very interesting topic in this episode... A common challenge in a lot of service design projects is that as soon as the external agency leaves, the project loses most of it's momentum. Fumiko shares, from her own experience, a very effective way to increase the chance that the solution you're working on actually stays alive once you're gone. The answer to this will likely give you a different perspective on what a deliverable of a service design project might be. And finally we talk about the tendency of stakeholders to jump from research mode into ideation / solution mode. What can you do to allow for more time and deeper reflection? This episode is filled with great practical insights so I really hope you enjoy it! ---------------------------------------- EPISODE GUIDE 05:00 - The first encounter with Service Design. 06:20 - How can we balance thinking and doing? 13:20 - What if we can establish community through the design process? 20:35 - Why do we need to reframe? 28:35 - Big Question: How do YOU balance thinking and doing? ---------------------------------------- LINKS FROM THE EPISODE Fumiko on LinkedIn ➜ https://go.servicedesignshow.com/llac1 Re:public ➜ http://re-public.jp/ Reach Network ➜ https://go.servicedesignshow.com/r-io_ MORE EPISODES Enjoyed the show?
