If you’re looking to upgrade your “money mindset”, create an abundance of financial and spiritual wealth, and finally achieve your lifelong goal of financial freedom, this interview with T. Harv Eker might be the most important podcast you ever listen to. In our hour-long conversation, Harv and I dive deep into the psychology of the wealthiest people on the planet. He reveals the most common mistakes that hold people back from achieving true wealth, why your financial “vehicle” doesn’t matter, and why you’ll never get rich…unless you fix your financial “blueprint”. It’s an eye-opening and wildly practical conversation and I promise, if you apply the lessons inside of it…it will change the trajectory of your financial future forever. Let’s dive in. Who is T. Harv Eker? Using the principles he teaches, T. Harv Eker went from zero to millionaire in only 2 1/2 years! He combines a unique brand of ‘street-smarts with heart’. Eker’s high-energy, ‘cut-to-the-chase’ style keeps his audience spellbound. T. Harv Eker’s motto is “talk is cheap” and his unique ability is getting people to take “action” in the real world to produce real success. Eker is the author of the best-selling books, Secrets of the Millionaire Mind and SpeedWealth. He has also developed several highly-acclaimed courses such as The Millionaire Mind Intensive, Life Directions, Wizard Training and Train the Trainer. He is also the producer and trainer of the world-famous Enlightened Warrior Training. During his years of struggle, Eker vowed that should he ever get rich, he would help others do the same. He has kept his promise. He has already touched the lives of over 1.5 million people, helping them move closer to their goal of true financial freedom. Favorite Success Quote “This is it.” – T. Harv Eker Key Lessons from My Interview with T. Harv Eker 1. Stop Chasing Money and Start Solving Problems If you want to get rich, then you need to do something that is completely counter-intuitive. STOP chasing money. If you are constantly chasing money, then you are focused entirely on the wrong things. Getting rich requires that you solve problems, period. There is no shortcut to riches, no easy way to wealth, and no true success that can be had without a maniacal focus on finding problems and providing solutions. If you want to make a million dollars, then you need to find a million-dollar problem and solve it. If you want to make ten million dollars, then find a ten million dollar problem and solve it. Money flows to the people who are solving problems and providing value… not to the people who are just trying to make a quick buck. When you chase money, you’ll be quick to fall prey to a myriad of vices…from substance abuse (think Wall Street Bankers using Adderall and cocaine to “get the edge), to unethical practices (think: Wolf of Wall Street), to workaholism. But when you set out to solve a problem…specifically a problem you are passionate and excited about…everything else falls into place. 2. Forget Finding the Right Vehicle for Wealth  You will never find the right vehicle to achieve financial success until you become the right driver. Why is it that thousands of people get involved in network marketing, real estate, and social media, but only a handful of those people achieve real financial success? It’s clearly not the vehicle. History has irrevocably shown us that it is possible to become immensely wealthy by using any of the industries mentioned above. Hell, some of the richest people in the world built their fortune in industries as mundane as concrete, gravel, and solar panels. The real problem that prevents people from achieving financial freedom is that they are not showing up as the person they need to be to achieve success. If your mind is not wired for success, if you have not clearly and intentionally trained your subconscious to find opportunities and take advantage of those opportunities to their fullest capacity, then you will never be successful no matter how fast of a vehicle you find! When you lack the right habits, when you lack commitment, work-ethic, and thick skin, when you bounce from shiny object to shiny object…you will fail. I know people who become millionaires in less than a year with Social Media or real estate, and I know people who can’t make a frigging dollar! The only difference is that the person who made millions had done the self-work necessary to achieve success in that industry and the person who ended up broke had not. 3. If You Want to Get Rich You Must do What Rich People Do  Why is it that so many people think that the laws for becoming wealthy are different from all the other laws governing our universe? I mean think about it. Everyone knows the laws for physical success. Eat according to your goals (muscle gain or fat loss), exercise regularly, and give your body enough time to recharge. No one will argue with that. On one level or another everyone knows the laws to create successful relationships. Spend quality time with your partner, express gratitude and appreciation, resolve problems elegantly, and put yourself in the other person’s shoes. Again… most people will not argue with that. But there are laws that will make you wealthy and laws that will make you broke too and most people are unwilling to take responsibility for their lives and accept that their current financial situation is in direct correlation to their adherence to those laws! If you want to be rich, then do what rich people do. Spend less than you make, make your money work for you, invest in yourself and in appreciating assets, don’t get into too much debt, train your subconscious for money mastery, and quit wasting time on pointless activities. Find rich people who you admire and then do what they do. It’s that simple. 4. Thought is the Mother of all Results If you want to change your results, you cannot start by changing your actions. You have to start by changing your thoughts. If you have been programmed to believe that money is the root of all evil then no amount of hardwork or hustle will help you earn the money that you want. You have to change your thoughts around money first for your actions to start aligning with your desired outcomes. Start taking the time to really dig deep and figure out what thoughts you have and what subconscious patterns your mind has been conditioned to believe, and then get to work on changing those thoughts. Because once you change your thoughts you can change your actions. Once you change your actions, you can change your results. And once you change your results you change your whole life. 5. Why Aren’t You Rich Yet? Let me ask you a question… Why aren’t you rich yet? Really… Why aren’t you? Some of you might say it’s because you’re too young, too inexperienced, too old, too blah blah blah! All of your excuses for your lack of financial abundance are invalid. If you look at the world around you and can find just one person who was given the same circumstances as you and ended up wealthy, then you know that your excuse has no merit. If you want to get rich, then you need to realize that you have no excuses for your current state of financial lack. It’s entirely up to you to make the changes that you need to make to achieve your dreams of wealth. Cut the crap, forget the excuses, and you will find a way to get rich.

Social Confidence For Life
How To Handle Criticism With Confidence

Social Confidence For Life

Play Episode Listen Later May 7, 2019 16:00

Today, we are discussing How To Handle Criticism With Confidence. This is important because if we don’t develop our ability to handle criticism, we will buy into it and make it true, which gives our power away to people so that whatever their criticism of us is, we automatically believe it. So if they say you are weird, boring or awkward, you would just believe it and feel it’s anti-loving energy in your body. Also, if people judge your passions, interests, or dreams to be weird or not right for you, then you would agree with them and give them up. Even if we get angry and repudiate their criticism, we are angry because a part of is taking their criticism and criticizing ourselves with it. One type of criticism I struggled to handle was getting feedback that I was being awkward, boring, or embarrassing. This could be directly said to me or shown in peoples’ facial expressions. As soon as I perceived that people thought of me as awkward, boring, or embarrassing, I would make what I thought was their reality with me true. When instead, I could be holding on to the reality that I’m awesome and have a lot of value to give to people. But no, I couldn’t do that yet. So basically, in order for me to like myself, people had to permanently show me they thought of me as interesting, engaging, and cool. If I receive any critique deviating from those conditions, then, I’m a loser. This was especially true in my dating and relationships life. If I got the sense that she thought I was weird, then I would believe it for myself. Another area I couldn’t handle criticism well was with body image. I struggled with people telling me I was skinny and looked weak because athleticism and strength training is a value of mine and I’m actually much stronger than is the average person with my more skinny body size. People also tend to forget that size doesn’t necessarily mean strength, and someone skinnier can be stronger than someone bigger. And so I would respond with anger, and a part of me would just attach the meaning that because they criticize me for being skinny, I am not good enough. Automatically buying into criticism kept me stuck in anxiety because I was afraid I’d get emotionally beat up eventually in a conversation from someone judging me to “not be good enough.” And then out of desperation, I began to withstand criticism and hold onto the confident energy I wanted in myself. And by doing so, I learned how to hold my reality, so others couldn’t take it away with getting me to adopt the negative energy from their criticism.  Today, I enjoy freedom to hold the reality I want for myself no matter what others say about me or what I perceive their judgments of me to be. I choose to think of myself as awesome no matter what anyone says. Rather than only feeling good if no one criticizes me, I’m more certain of who I am than who people think I am.  So how can you do the same? How can you hold your reality so you can feel confident even if someone criticizes you? The key is to be more certain of who you are than who others think you are. 3 Techniques to help you hold onto your reality of who you are include: 1. Defending yourself and disagreeing with them. This isn’t about being hostile and aggressive, it’s about owning your reality of who you are. So if they say, “jeez you’re so weird around people,” you would respond with, “no way, I’m awesome. You’re the weird one (playfully). You can be humorous and turn their criticism of you on them. The important point is to not automatically believe it to be true and beat yourself up with it. 2. Question the criticism with curiosity and seek understanding. This is about figuring out why they criticized you to help them see if maybe they are mistaken in their point of view. If someones says you’re hyper or “too energetic” and need to calm down when you were having a good time chatting, then you could say, “Really? Why do you say that?” Them: because no one else is as energetic as you right now. You (following your curiosity): Okay, so you are saying I shouldn’t be the most energetic person? Is it bad to be the most energetic person? Them: Well… no, not necessarily. It’s just you look weird being so. You: oh, so it’s weird to be more energetic than others? What if I’m having a good time? Should I not allow that in myself to conform to everyone else’s lower energy? Them: Well no… you’re right. I guess I would be afraid to be energetic and different because I might get judged. You: oh, ha kinda like what you’re doing to me right now? Them: Very funny… Not all conversations of questioning them well be as smooth as the scenario I crafted above, and the point is to help them understand if they really believe their criticism of you or if there is and underlying fear. 3. Accept a grain of truth in their criticism without making it mean you are a loser. If someone overheard you stumbling on your words a few times when you were talking to someone you found attractive and calls you out for it, you could respond with, “Ya, I did stumble on my words a few times, huh? I was nervous and took immediate action to go talk to her without pre-planning what I was going to say. Besides, people make mistakes all the time when they are nervous. I ain’t gonna let that stop me from talking to women.” Did you pick on the energy there? Did you notice how I was accepting of my mistakes without beating myself up or making it mean I should abort my mission to pursue her? If I did beat myself up for messing up my words with her, then that would keep me in anxiety because I would be afraid of messing up again. The point is to be okay with imperfection. And, you can always try again. All is not lost. Your challenge is to apply this into your life. When you are in the face of criticism, apply your techniques of 1. Defend yourself, 2. Question them, 3. Accept some truth without turning on yourself. You’ve got this, you can handle this, take a “bring-it-on” attitude when others judge you because you are more certain of who you are than the criticism they impose upon you. You can hold your reality so others can’t take that away from you. And your reality includes awesomeness, confidence, and a ton of value to give others. You’re awesome! Until we speak again, you were born to be real, not to be perfect. So go out there and be who you are. In chapter 11, Paul addressed the problem of false teachers. This is a subject that always gets my attention because the enemy is always so active in this area. Think of it. He has this act down cold. He used false teaching to persuade Eve to disobey God’s clear instruction to not eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. “Nah. You won’t die. God just doesn’t want you to be like Him!” The enemy has made studying man’s weaknesses his life’s work, and uses his centuries of study to capitalize on them. He uses them to craft lies that will draw us away from God. Some lies seem patently ridiculous and easy to spot, others are incredibly complex and difficult to decipher. Different lies appeal to different people. One lie that the enemy uses very effectively is the lie that it matters when people think we are stupid, or as Paul said in chapter 11, foolish. Give me a break. Really? Why do I care if someone thinks I’m an idiot for devoting my life to proclaiming the Good News? But here’s the thing. I want to be liked. I want to be accepted by the cool kids. You probably do, too. That’s a very human characteristic, and the enemy uses that quirk to try to make us shut up. So the next time you’re made to feel “less than” because of your faith in Jesus, consider the source. Remind the enemy that you are an heir with Jesus, and that his destruction is coming soon. Be bold in living out your faith. Don’t be shy in fulfilling the calling God has given you. He is the only One who’s opinion of you should shape your behavior. Not some internet troll or anybody else. In the last half of chapter 11 Paul told of how he had been beaten, stoned, shipwrecked and several other life-threatening hardships because of his refusal to sit down and shut up, and his desire to take the Gospel as far as He could. You and I have the opportunity, because of the time in which we live, to take that message LITERALLY to every country in the world, from the comfort and safety of our homes. Since I began podcasting on November 13th, 2004, I doubt if there is a country on the planet that at least one person has not downloaded one of the Lifespring shows. If God can use me, he can use you. If we do not follow Jesus’ last command to go into all the world and make disciples, we have no excuse. I don’t want Him, when I stand before Him, to say, “You had one job. What happened? Why didn’t you use the tools I gave you?”

I enjoyed it, and I learned some cool things, not things that I learned, but I shared some cool things with them that I think would be good for everyone so I just wanted to share some of the thoughts and ideas that came from it. Hopefully it’ll give you guys some value. The first question they asked me, “Clickfunnels sounds cool, but we’re selling BDB. With BDB, do funnels work, is that just a BDC type thing?” and it made me laugh because first thing I said, “Cool, how do you guys get clients in the door right now?” He actually used the word funnel, “Well the first step of our funnel is…” Then I kind of smiled and then he explained the whole thing, “We go to trade shows and we get leads, and we put the leads, and these guys call the leads, and leads forum, and then leads score guys, and if they’re good they go to these guys and then sell to them.” I kind of smiled, I’m like, “Okay well that was a funnel right there. All we’re trying online is replicate that. How do we make it so that instead of you having to have a guy or a gal or somebody do each of those steps, a lot of those things happen online.” I told him about how back in the day, some of you guys know my story, we had a call center that had 60 full time sales people who were outbound calling every one of our leads find people qualify them and all those kinds of things. And while that worked, it was expensive. That’s a lot of people. Everybody had to dial 100 dials a day and all that jazz. It was just super inefficient, expensive and honestly, wasn’t a great experience for people. People don’t want to get phone calls all day long. So when we shut down the call center, we reinvented the model and kind of changed it around. We started driving traffic into a funnel, the funnel sifted and sorted and qualified people and just gave us leads and customers who were ready to sign up today. And that was the transition, that’s how it kind of moved. We went from having 60 full time sales guys to now we have two.  While they don’t do quite the same top line revenue, they definitely do more profit. Considering two guys versus 60 its pretty dang close to the top line, which is exciting. Anyway, I think that was cool illustration of a funnel. So the next question was, “How do you guys get leads into your funnel?” So we kind of talked about that a little bit, I was like, “We’re doing a little bit of everything. We’re trying a lot of things. We have a Facebook ads that run.” And theyre like, “Facebook ads don’t run for us.” I’ m like, “Really? Why not?” they kind of talked about their messaging on it, and their messaging was very specific li,e, “Hey you can increase your transaction value for this.” I was like, that’s not what people are looking for. Your product is fraud protection you’ve got to create a desire in their minds. When we launched Clickfunnels initially we started selling like, here’s funnel software. And nobody bought it no matter how excited I was. We had to change it. How to get people excited about funnel software. We had to explain what a funnel was and get them excited and show examples of your funnels and what’s actually possible. And that’s why I built the funnel hacks webinar. To show them, here’s what a funnel is. Here’s how it works. Here’s how you funnel hack somebody else. Here’s how you go to Clickfunnels and actually build it, and here’s how you get traffic. I gotta create desire and belief that what I have is gonna actually help somebody.” And I showed them that the reason that your Facebook ads not working is because you’re not creating desire or belief. That’s another goal of funnel, it could be through a sales video, it could be through a webinar, it could be through whatever, but you gotta create desire and belief, those are the two core things you’ve got to create through your funnel. That’s the goal, if your funnel can create desire in the thing that you sell, and belief that it will work for them. Notice that I didn’t say, not that it’ll work, but it’ll work for them, that’s how you get ads to convert. So that was the next thing. Then we talked about other ways to get leads, and all the things we were doing. I asked them, “One of the things we’re doing, we’re building out kind of a front end call center, who are going to call leads and start selling our programs. Have you guys ever heard of billwith.com?” they said, “Yes, we used builtwith.com but it didn’t really work.” I’m like, “How did it not work?” they said, “we had guys exporting lists of hundreds of thousands of leads and they were calling them all day and getting 1800 numbers and dead calls and things like that. So if you guys know builtwith. Builtwith.com is this site where you can say, hey show me all the sites that were built with Leadpages, show me all the sites that were built Unbound, show me all the pages that were built with Infusionsoft. It shows you all the pages and then gives you full the contact info of those people. I said, “That’s the problem. You’ve got these sales guys that are cold calling all these unqualified, cold, freezing cold leads. I don’t want my sales guys talking to anybody unless they’ve raised their hand. There’s a really cool business model that we’re implementing right now that you guys should look at. It’s a book called Predictable Revenue. I think I’ve mentioned it to you guys before in the past, but if not go to predictablerevenue.com, I believe, and go buy the book, it’s like a $10 book. The books not really well written but the concept is awesome. So what they do in this book, it kind of documents the case study of how sales went from 0 to $100 million in sales and they did it basically, getting lists that they knew had builtwith.com. conceptually the same thing. You get this cold call list and instead of just having your sales dudes just call and burn sales out, you have the sales guy take 100 leads and then email 100 people and say, “Hey are the person in charge of marketing at this company?” and typically the person is like, “No I am not. So and so’s in charge of marketing.” Then they introduce them to so and so. Now the person’s got a warm introduction to the person who’s in charge of that aspect of the business and that opens up a great call. Then you’re only calling people who’ve raised their hands and said, “Hey, I’m Joe and I’m the marketing guy you’re looking for. Let’s get on a phone call and talk.”  So your sales guys are only talking to people that are warm. So that book, I think the model and I don’t know exactly the numbers, each sales guy emails 100 people a day, from that they should get 11 responses and from that they should have 6 calls or whatever. And they just kind of….that’s the model. Now your sales guys aren’t trying to make 100 dials a day. Your sales guys are sending 100 emails and talking to 11 people who actually raised their hands. It makes for a better experience and way more profitability and less headaches and costs, and all the things that are associated with the other model. That was kind of another little tidbit and idea. There you go guys. There is the end product of our lunch consult for today, I did with the Kount guys. It sounds so strange. God loved us so he sent his son to die for us. Really? Why did Jesus have to die. And why did anyone have to die for us? Are things really that bad? What does Jesus’ death say about God’s character?
