POPULARITY
This week, our host, Dean Rotbart generated a lot of media attention over the past two weeks, including coverage in The Wall Street Journal, FORTUNE, and on NPR, among more than a dozen other news outlets. Dean, a faculty member at Wizard Academy who coaches business owners and entrepreneurs on how to attract free publicity, took his own “Reputation Tool Chest” advice to produce an avalanche of coverage for his new book, “September Twelfth: An American Comeback Story.” Of all his guest appearances on radio shows and podcasts, Dean favored his live Facebook and YouTube conversation with Charlotte Kosa, a West Coast journalist who has been broadcasting for more than 18 years. Listen in, as Charlotte and Dean talk about the 9/11 terrorist attacks and the resiliency of the Pulitzer Prize-winning reporters for The Wall Street Journal who covered the unfolding drama even though their own newsroom was destroyed that day and their dedication came close to costing some of the journalists their lives. NOTE: September Twelfth: An American Comeback Story is now available as an eBook on Amazon. Download your copy today for only $29.95. You can subscribe to Charlotte Kosa' popular podcast, California Haunts Radio, here. Last year, I attended The Wizard Academy’s Reputation Tool Chest workshop taught by award-winning business journalist, Dean Rotbart. Dean is the host of Monday Morning Radio, a popular business-to-business podcast that in 2016 alone attracted more than a quarter-million listeners. With Dean’s help, I launched RANCHCAST with LEM LEWIS earlier this year, and I’m pleased that Dean continues to work with me to build our RANCHCAST audience and ensure the quality of our episodes. This week Dean and I share hosting duties – combining our two audiences for a very special interview. Our guest is Michele Payn, a nationally recognized influencer in the large, growing, and very successful farm-to-table movement. Michele is CEO of Cause Matters Corp., a consulting firm that advises companies and individuals on how to influence public discourse surrounding agriculture, health, and nutrition topics. This week Michele celebrates the official publication of her newest book: “Farm Truths – From Farm to Table.” While my expertise is in ranching, farming, and rural real estate, Dean is an expert on small business, reputation management, and effective communication. Together we explore with Michele both the business and the nutrition aspects of ranching and farming, and debunk some of the most common food myths. Photo: Michele Payne, Cause Matters Corp. Since he co-wrote The One Minute Manager in 1982, Ken Blanchard has rarely been off the bestsellers list, having authored or co-authored 60 books and landed a spot in Amazon.com’s Hall of Fame, as one of the 25 top revenue generators of all time. One of Dr. Blanchard’s favorite topics over the years has been customer service and how businesses can excel at it. He recently reissued his 2005 book, The Simple Truths of Service, which has sold more than 5 million copies. This week he joins host and reputation coach Dean Rotbart to share some of the common-sense wisdom that the book imparts. By the way, Dean, who teaches the Reputation Tool Chest workshop at Wizard Academy, took the opportunity with Dr. Blanchard to make a couple of his own reputation recommendations to the legendary author. No one ever said that Dean, a former investigative reporter, isn’t dogged. Photo: Dr. Ken Blanchard, AuthorPosted: March 18, 2019Monday Morning Run Time: 28:44
Not for the first time, or even the second, or the tenth: Dean Rotbart’s scheduled guest on this week’s edition of Monday Morning Radio was a no-show. You absentee guests know exactly who you are. Shame on you! The good news is that without a guest, Dean is able to reach into his Reputation Tool Chest and share three self-marketing gems for companies and individuals who seek the attention of journalists and other influencers. Dean has taught at The Wizard Academy since the early 2000s, first sharing his Newsroom Confidential insights, then Buzz Snatching, and most recently Reputation Tool Chest. All three workshops have this in common: they defy the conventional wisdom of how influence is created, relying instead on deconstructing real-world success stories. When they show up, Dean always enjoys interviewing business owners and experts, because he can not only share their wisdom with listeners, he can learn from his guests himself. This week, alas, he can only pass on what he already knows. Photo: Dean Rotbart, Host, Monday Morning RadioPosted: January 14, 2019Monday Morning Run Time: 10:00
Last year, Lem Lewis attended The Wizard Academy’s Reputation Tool Chest workshop taught by our very host Dean Rotbart. The two entrepreneurs hit it off, and earlier this year, with Dean's help, Lem launched his very own podcast – RANCHCAST – that serves ranchers, farmers, and other rural producers. This week DEan and Lem co-host a joint edition of Monday Morning Radio and RANCHCAST featuring special guest Michele Payn, a nationally recognized influencer in the large, growing, and very successful farm-to-table movement. Michele is CEO of Cause Matters Corp., a consulting firm that advises companies and individuals on how to influence public discourse surrounding agriculture, health, and nutrition topics. This week is the official publication of Michele’s newest book: “Farm Truths – From Farm to Table.” The pairing of Dean and Lem is ideal, especially this week. Lem is a 4th generation Texas Rancher, who knows cattle, crops, wildlife, and rural real estate. Dean, of course, is an award-winning business journalist, small business expert, and reputation coach. Dean and Lem: Just one of thousands of productive partnerships and new friendships made possible by Wizard Academy. Ken Lain is a master at cultivating profits from a small business in a small market. Along with his wife, Lisa, Ken owns Watters Garden Center in Prescott, Arizona – a city of about 42,000 residents located in the mountainous area of central Arizona. Ken, a graduate of host Dean Rotbart’s “Reputation Tool Chest” course at Wizard Academy, relies on a rich bouquet of marketing tools – including over-the-air radio programs, YouTube videos, on-site courses, and rock ‘em, sock ‘em customer service to beat back the predatory tactics and pricing of nearby Big Box competitors. Ken definitely has a green thumb – both for gardening and profit-making. Ken shares his proven financial seeding and growth tips this week on Monday Morning Radio.
