RIP Gene Wilder, if we had to pick any film to honour your memory it wouldn't have been this. This was an odd movie, it had one joke that it told in 50 different ways. Some of those ways were funny, many were not. 24 mins

Hello everyone and Welcome to the Phantom Zone! This week we remember the great actor Gene Wilder, and we take a trip down memory lane. Come listen to us talk about our favorite Gene Wilder movies, and have a few laughs and a couple cries over this beloved icon. On behalf of WTTPZ, RIP Gene Wilder, you'll be missed!
RIP Gene Wilder. In light of the beloved actor's passing, we're taking a look back at his most iconic role, the seminal film Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory. Join us as we wonder what the hell a bean feast is, discuss the part of the movie that we always fast-forwarded, and Alan questions the *real* motives behind Wonka's Golden Ticket ploy, all in the name of finding out: does Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory stand the Test of Time?
This week we celebrate 100 episodes of our heathenish podcast! Ryan's snail shoots out a bunch of babies, Ian finds a new troll cave to inhabit, and Kevin prepares for his upcoming worship at the final Black Sabbath show in Washington! RIP Gene Wilder and an era where kids movies used to be dark and truly scary! We've got a bunch of samples of some new jams from Vader, Testament, The Devin Townsend Project, Crowbar, In Flames and more! Dave Lombardo joins the Misfits on drums for an epic set of reunions, and somehow Ozzy got a show on the History Channel. Dennis Rodman breaks his ween three times, and Sick of It All turns 30! Stay until the end to hear our interview with a rad local band – LESBIAN and hear a couple of new tracks from their new record Hallucinogenesis!
Do you smell what Derek Cianfrance is cooking? Well, Christopher Cross and Dylan Schwan sure can and they're here to talk about his new recipe for making you cry. The director of Blue Valentine and The Place Beyond the Pines returns with The Light Between Oceans, starring Michael Fassbender, Alicia Vikander and Rachel Weisz. We discuss its place in the Oscar race and the pantheon of Cianfrance (which is admittedly fairly small at the moment). On top of that, Dylan saw Don't Breathe, the new thriller from Fede Alvarez who previously directed the Evil Dead remake. He also took the time out to watch The Rundown, starring The Rock, and provides a passionate explanation as to why the film might very well be up Chris's alley. Both Chris and Dylan saw Hell or High Water and talk about what makes it stand above most films that came out this summer. Then Chris also went to Fan Expo Canada this year and saw two horror shorts: Invaders and Static. There's no lack of content this week as we also discuss our top five films that came out this summer, as well as the typical news stories (RIP Gene Wilder) and the blu-ray releases of the week. Next week, tune in to hear us discuss Clint Eastwood's latest film, Sully.
RIP Gene Wilder, Human Centipede the Prequel Pitch, Indian Centipedes of the Wild West and Lose the Fingers
Grace Harryman (@graceharryman) finally makes it onto the show. She was waylaid last time by an errant car and a most unfortunate concussion. We talk comedy, sketch and improv with her. The upcoming Oscar contender “Birth of a Nation” comes to theaters riding a wave of controversy regarding director and star Nate Parker. Should IMDB publish actor’s ages? What about cinematographer’s? Hillary Clinton is muscling into the podcasting business and we don’t like it. I’m in pain, and I’m wet and RIP Gene Wilder!
