Their new record is called It's a Dying Art.Recorded live in front of an audience in Nashville, the four of them join Troy to talk about making their new record, chasing a song that was already on hold for somebody else, and the early-career night they had to go on in George Strait's place in front of a stadium that came for him.Ten Year Town is a podcast about the songwriter's journey, hosted by Troy Cartwright. Lipps Service with Scott Lipps

Sawyer Hill joins Scott Lipps for a new episode of Lipps Service to talk about his unconventional upbringing in Arkansas, growing up in a deeply religious Pentecostal environment, discovering rock music, and the unlikely path that led him to becoming one of rock's rising young artists. Sawyer opens up about speaking in tongues, his grandfather the preacher, what music he was allowed to listen to growing up, and the story of how Pokémon somehow resulted in a whipping. He also talks about considering a future working in a morgue and pathology, finding bandmates through Craigslist, finding his own singing voice, and what happened when his music suddenly went viral. Sawyer gets into the current state of music marketing, Yungblud, the conversation around “industry plants,” and the process behind his new album, **Everybody's Home, Nobody's Happy**. Plus, Sawyer discusses “Tying the Noose,” “Going to Hell,” his weirdest-ever gig, what makes a perfect song, the one song he wishes he wrote, his favorite debut album, Folsom Prison, and his Top 5 newer artists. Another great conversation on Lipps Service with Scott Lipps. # CHAPTERS 00:00 Intro 02:00 The Current State of Music Marketing 04:35 Sawyer Hill's Upbringing 05:07 Growing Up With His Mom 06:30 Growing Up Pentecostal 07:25 Speaking in Tongues 10:52 The Morgue & Pathology 11:14 Getting a Job at the Morgue 15:25 What Music He Was Allowed to Hear 16:45 Learning the Ukulele 19:22 Growing Up in Arkansas 21:27 Finding Drummers on Craigslist 23:27 Pokémon, Religious School & Getting Whipped 25:07 His Grandfather the Preacher 27:37 Looking Back on His Childhood 29:53 Going Viral 31:08 Yungblud & “Industry Plants” 34:58 The New Record & “Tying the Noose” 36:50 His Weirdest Gig: Playing a Funeral 43:30 Making the New Record 46:13 Finding His Voice 49:22 The Meaning Behind the Album Title 50:44 “Going to Hell” 52:18 What Makes a Perfect Song? 54:02 Top 5 Newer Artists 55:57 The Song He Wishes He Wrote 56:31 Best Debut Album 58:09 Folsom Prison Learn more about your ad choices. The ASX 200 put in another solid day, rising 44 points to 9,272 (0.5%), as the banks and gold stocks shone. We did see higher levels earlier in the session, but some of the enthusiasm was sapped by a fall in the Kospi, while BHP and RIO finished slightly mixed. CBA rose 0.9% and NAB gained 0.4%, with financials generally firmer. The Big Bank Basket rose to $299.21 (+0.6%) Insurers slipped, however, with QBE down 1.0%, while the REITs also eased, with GMG down 1.7% and SCG off 1.3%. Healthcare continued its recent strength, with CSL up 1.3% and RMD rising 0.3%.Technology had a mixed session, with WTC falling 1.5% and XRO gaining 0.4% as the sector paused for breath after recent gains. Industrials were generally firmer, while retailers had a good day, led by JBH, up 2.9%, and HVN, which rose 1.2%.In the resource sector, the gold price pushed higher again, dragging the miners with it. EVN rose 3.8% and NST added 3.2%. There was little to report in lithium, with the sector drifting slightly higher. Uranium stocks eased modestly, while coal stocks were stronger, with WHC up 2.5%. Oil and gas stocks were little changed as investors continued to wait for further developments in the Iranian talks. In corporate news, REA rose 3.4% after posting an 11% increase in revenue. AMP also had a strong session after announcing a 57% jump in half-year profit and unveiling a $150m share buyback. Meanwhile, BPT fell after reporting a 21% decline in underlying FY profit, while AQZ surged 30% before entering a trading halt as it renegotiates contracts with QAN. Nothing on the economic front today.Asian markets were weaker, with the Nikkei 225 down 0.99%, Hong Kong down 1.7%, China down 0.8%, and Korea off 4.6%. US futures were flat with the Dow up 118 points and the Nasdaq down 83. Marcus Today – Daily Market InsightsMarcus Today provides clear, practical commentary for self-directed investors – covering markets, portfolios, education, and decision-making without the noise. If you'd like to go further:Start a free 14-day trial of Marcus Today http://bit.ly/mt-trial-podcastJoin Marcus Today Use code MTPODCAST for 10% off http://bit.ly/mt-join-podcast-offerMT20 – Managed ETF Portfolio A professionally managed portfolio run by Marcus Padley and the team, using ASX-listed ETFs with active market timing. http://bit.ly/mt20-podcastPrinciples – How We Think About Investing A short video series on timing, behaviour, and decision-making. Pennsylvania's 10th district congressional candidates are attracting more donors than any of the state's other key contenders for the U.S. House of Representatives. Law enforcement officers generally need a warrant with a judge's signature to search private property. But in Pennsylvania, wildlife officers have been able to enter open fields and woods without a warrant for nearly 20 years. State and local officials recently gathered at Reservoir Park in Lancaster for the commonwealth's third annual Outdoors for All celebration. More than 30 outdoor recreation and conservation organizations were on hand. Cumberland County's Vector Control Office has been notified by the state Department of Environmental Protection that a ninth mosquito sample this summer has tested positive for West Nile Virus. The latest sample was collected in Lower Allen Township. Pennsylvania has secured 20-point-3-million-dollars from Mitsubishi Chemical Advanced Materials to expand operations and create 42 new jobs in Berks County. The state is kicking in 500,000 dollars for the project. The Governor Josh Shapiro recently signed nearly two dozen bills into law. The measures include efforts to cut red tape, expand Pennsylvania's workforce and address critical workforce shortages. In uncertain times, our community counts on facts, not noise.
