Adult star Bonnie Blue allegedly gave birth, another scammer posing as an NFL player, singer/murderer D4vd is broke, Ali G under fire, and Meghan Markle's failed Parent Network charity. Billy Strings is Drew's new favorite Michigander after appearing on This Past Weekend w/ Theo Von. Bert Kreischer is a lightweight now and needs to build his tolerance. Christopher Cross whined about the USA & Donald Trump to Canadians in Toronto. MI Politics: Abdul El-Sayed is deleting tweets and trying to dodge Hasan Piker questions. Meanwhile, Mike Rogers is busted lying about viewing Osama Bin Laden's rotting corpse. Detroit mayor Mary Sheffield is under the microscope and Charlie LeDuff breaks open the case. Bonnie Blue claims she had a baby. It will be one very long Maury episode. Drew enjoys watching sovereign citizens plead their case... and lose. He also is a fan of divorce court on YouTube. Uras Agee IV is the next Daejon Love. NFL scams are so hot right now. A Saginaw teen flashed some cash at prom and was murdered. Justin and Hailey Bieber bickered at Finneas' wedding. Amita Rao from the TV show Adults has hairy armpits and even hairier vagina. D4vd is broke and his lawyers have bailed on him. Murder Karmelo Anthony is broke too. The New York Times forgot to do some vetting. Markleverse: Michael Pavano has a great Meghan impersonation. The Parents' Network failed so much that Harry and Meghan dumped it despite duping Jane Pauley in an obnoxious interview. Dan Wootton is furious. Meghan has a 'wish list' for her new UK pad. Episode 110: Evan "Kidd" Bogart has worn nearly every hat in the music industry. From mailroom A&R at Interscope Records to hit songwriter (Beyoncé's "Halo," Rihanna's "SOS"), artist manager, booking agent, and now buying music catalogs with Seeker and advocating for creators as Vice Chair of the Recording Academy. He's one of the rare people who has sat in nearly every seat at the table. In this episode, Elmo Lovano goes deep with Evan Bogart on both the craft and the business of music. Evan is the son of Casablanca Records founder Neil Bogart, the legendary executive behind KISS, Donna Summer, Parliament, and the Village People, and manager, Joyce Bogart Trabulus. He grew up inside the music business, tried to make it as a rapper, and worked his way up from the Interscope mailroom to the A&R department. As a teenager, he discovered Eminem and was the first person to put Em in front of Jimmy Iovine. He'd go on to sign Kara's Flowers, who later changed their name to Maroon 5. After getting sober in his early 20s, Evan reinvented himself as a songwriter, and his very first composition, "SOS" for Rihanna, went to No. 1. He followed it with the Grammy-winning "Halo" for Beyoncé, co-written with Ryan Tedder in just three hours, plus hits for Britney Spears, Madonna, Lizzo, Jason Derulo, Leona Lewis, and more. Today, Evan is the CEO of Seeker Music, the creator-led music rights, publishing, and record company he's built into a catalog of more than 19,000 copyrights and master recordings valued at roughly $400 million. The catalog includes works by Beyoncé, Miley Cyrus, One Direction, Drake, Christopher Cross, Joan Jett, Run the Jewels, and Lewis Capaldi. Named the #2 Most Innovative Music Company of 2025 by Fast Company, Seeker recently closed its inaugural $267 million asset-backed securitization with M&G Investments and announced a global distribution partnership with Virgin Music Group. If you don't know what that means, that's OK, because we break it all down. We get into how you actually value and buy a music catalog, the business of publishing and masters, how songwriter splits and royalties work, why music rights have become an institutional asset class, and how music-backed securitization deals get financed. We also dig into Evan's role as Vice Chair of the Recording Academy and Co-Chair of the GRAMMYs Songwriters & Composers Wing, where he fights for fair mechanical royalty rates, helped create the Songwriter of the Year Grammy, and is helping shape the conversation around AI and the future of music rights, creativity, and ownership. This is the deep, insider version of Evan Bogart's story. The craft, the deals, the money, and the mission. For anyone who wants to understand how the music business actually works. I hope you enjoy the conversation with my dear friend, Evan Bogart! This episode is brought to you by our friends at The Pod Company! LEADER OF THE PACK The band's leader, Craig Ingraham, served six weeks at a federal prison farm camp. By the time he was released, the band had dissolved, and his girlfriend and fellow band member Debora Masterson ended their relationship, sending Craig spiraling on a years-long journey that led him to join a cult in Hawaii. In a remarkable twist, the cult's leader was gunned down in Thailand by a scorned lover. Let's take a trip to when Christopher Cross' hit, “Arthur's Theme”, made its way through movie theatre speakers nationwide. This sweet comedy-drama set in the Big Apple's confines, pitting the silly lampooned wiles of upper-class hollowness with the brash honesty of the blue-collar, just comes to depict a man-child's growth to become a true man. An individual with wisdom and fortitude, as he's now found someone to love, his heart caught between the moon and New York City.  Submit your mailbags to us at thesearcherspodcast@gmail.com. Discothèque Decadence Soundsystem presents DD021: Latin Yacht House Party A sun-drenched voyage through Latin house, yacht grooves, Balearic warmth, and feel-good dancefloor gold. Opening with the smooth luxury of Benny Santiago's “Give Me the Night - Cielo Extended”, the mix glides into The Doobie Brothers' “Long Train Runnin'”, Yacht Rock Revue's “San Junipero”, Daryl Hall & John Oates' “I Can't Go for That” in the Pomo remix, Party Pupils' “Never Too Much”, and Christopher Cross' “Ride Like The Wind - Yacht House Mix” — all bringing that glossy, sunset-on-the-water energy. Then the Latin fire rises. David Penn, DJ Chus & Dr. Kucho!'s “Esperanza” leads into Africanism & Salomão De Bahia's “Cada Vez”, before two personal weapons take centre stage: The Funk Assassin – “Sabor En Tu Piel” and The Funk Assassin – “Di Mi Nombre (Spanglish Pop Soul Edit)”. Both capture the heart of the mix: sensual, rhythmic, warm, and built for that golden-hour moment when the drinks are flowing, the sea is glowing, and the groove takes over. The second half goes full Latin house celebration with Los Amigos Invisibles & Masters At Work, Junior Jack, Basement Jaxx, Negrocan, Ultra Naté, Afro Medusa, Cesária Évora, and Bellini bringing carnival energy, percussion, big hooks, and Balearic heat. Latin house with yacht-house polish. Sunset cocktails. Big grooves. A Discothèque Decadence trip from the crates to the coastline. TRACKLIST 1. Benny Santiago - Give Me the Night Cielo Extended 2. Percussionist Lenny Castro has made a career out of being an ingredient that makes everything he touches better. He's been one of the most in-demand musicians of the last 50 years and was even an official member of Toto for many decades. Would classics like "Africa" and "Rosanna" be what they are without him? Doubtful. He's also the best thing about Christopher Cross's "Ride Like the Wind" and ONJ's "Physical". We also discuss a bunch of his session work with people like Stevie Wonder, Robert Palmer, and Fleetwood Mac. He's "mostly" retired now but keeps getting pulled in because he's so good and even just completed a tour with John Mayer. He's the best and we're lucky to hear from him. This week, much to Christopher’s chagrin, we do a deep dive into Yacht Rock! We’ll hear from Toto, Steely Dan, Doobie Bros, Christopher Cross, Kenny Loggins, Boz Scaggs, Seals & Crofts, Little River Band, Orleans and… Earth, Wind & Fire? (That last one leads to a spirited disagreement between Tom & Christopher) Among the highlights of this episode: - Michael McDonald explains the evolution of the Doobie Brothers’ sound - Christopher Cross talks about his debut album, which contained several Yacht Rock classics. - Steve Porcaro explains how a group of session players and friends morphed into Toto - Kenny Loggins remembers working with Stevie Nicks on “Whenever I Call You Friend” - Al Stewart deconstructs the story behind his biggest hit, “Year Of The Cat” - Boz Scaggs breaks down “Lido Shuffle” and “Lowdown” - We also hear from the most reluctant group in the Yacht Rock pantheon, Steely Dan, including a bonus cut from the Dan’s only foray into advertising jingles. (We assure you it’s a weird one!) - Plus, interview clips from Little River Band, Orleans, Marc Jordan, Seals & Crofts and more. It’s an episode chock full of artists who are Yachty by nature! Famous Lost Words, hosted by Christopher Ward and Tom Jokic, is heard in more than 100 countries worldwide and on radio stations across Canada, including Newstalk 1010 Toronto, CJAD 800 Montreal, 580 CFRA Ottawa, AM 800 CKLW Windsor, 610 CKTB St Catharines, CFAX Victoria, AM1150 Kelowna and 91x in Belleville. TrulySignificant.com talks to the creators of the rock opera- A Man of Fortune. The team of Wooten, Murphy, and Clark debut the rock opera, “A Man of Fortune,”   The opera is a passion project 50 years in the making - Originally conceived by Jeff Clark (formerly of Austin-based 70s rock band Too Smooth) in the 1970s and early 1980s, “A Man of Fortune” began as a deeply personal songwriting endeavor, telling the story of performer Max Million, who, at the height of his career, meets event coordinator Lisa. Their brief but meaningful encounter sparks a journey of self-discovery for Max after he collapses during the encore and is hospitalized. Clark tapped his friend Brian Wooten, (who has played with White Heart and currently plays with Trace Adkins), to produce and play guitar on the opera and Darin Murphy, (a staple in the Austin music scene with credits that include Skyrocket, Lennon (Musical on Broadway), HeartByrne, Pepperland Players work with Todd Rundgren and Christopher Cross) to sing and embody the role of Max Million on the opera.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/success-made-to-last-legends--4302039/support.

The narrative for Colin Hay's career goes like this - fronts huge pop band (Men at Work) who explode on the scene, win Grammys and a ton of hits in a short amount of time, goes solo, releases incredible album after incredible album to a small cult that love him but with no commercial success. That may be partially true, but that cult has gotten so big and the reputation so strong, is it even a secret anymore? He's about to take the current version of Men at Work on tour with friends Christopher Cross and Toto and he just released another perfect album (he has many) called Man @ Work 2 where he reimagines songs from his catalog again. We discuss this journey including his relationship with his old bandmates, his "underdog" status, Scrubs, songwriting, birthdays and more. He's a national treasure. Enjoy!  www.colinhay.com
