On this episode of the Three-Inning Save podcast, Dodgers starter Tony Gonsolin is out for the season after elbow surgery, and reliever Brock Stewart was placed on the 15-day injured list with right shoulder inflammation, and will have testing done Wednesday in Los Angeles. Stewart is the 19th different Dodgers pitcher to be placed on the injured list in 2025. Plus the Dodgers lost a wild game in extra innings to the Angels, dropping to 0-5 against the Halos this season. The loss dropped the Dodgers into a first-place tie with the Padres in the National League West. Plus, Shohei Ohtani homered and continues to pile up runs scored, Michael Conforto continues to struggle, and a former Dodgers minor leaguer (Justin Hagenman) got a FOUR-inning save (close enough!) for the Mets on Tuesday night. In Episode #240 of the XS Noize Podcast, Mark Millar is joined by Billy Lunn and Charlotte Cooper, from The Subways, to mark the 20th anniversary of their debut album Young For Eternity and the release of their new compilation album When I'm With You. Formed in the early 2000s, The Subways became one of the UK's most exciting indie rock bands, bursting onto the scene in 2005 with the release of Young For Eternity and their breakout hit “Rock & Roll Queen.” The track went on to feature in The OC, Guy Ritchie's film RocknRolla, and on the FIFA soundtrack — catapulting the band to an international audience. Now, two decades later, The Subways are revisiting their roots, re-recording “Rock & Roll Queen” with fresh energy, and bringing together fan favourites, deep cuts, and two brand new songs — “I Need To Feel You Closer” and “Passenger's Side” — on their 2025 compilation When I'm With You. In this in-depth interview, The Subways discuss: The process of re-recording “Rock & Roll Queen” for its 20th anniversary, Memories from the early days of Young For Eternity and their rise to fame, How drummer Camille Phillips has brought a new dynamic to the band's sound, Career-defining gigs — from basement clubs to Glastonbury Festival, What fans can expect from The Subways For Eternity Tour 2025. If you're a fan of indie rock anthems, 2000s British guitar bands, or the raw live energy of The Subways, this episode is packed with nostalgia, behind-the-scenes stories, and an exciting look at what's next for the band. The elbows were out this past weekend as the IndyCar Series did battle at Laguna Seca, and our favorite open wheeler Conor Daly brought home his best road course result of the season. He joins co-host Chase Holden to unpack his team's weekend, and how struggles with the primary tire and a lap one collision had them battling uphill all day. Despite this, Conor was able to survive some “argy-barginess” and found himself in position for a 14th place finish. He and Chase weigh in on opening lap contact between Kyffin Simpson and Felix Rosenqvist, as well as the new beef between Kyle Kirkwood and Rinus Veekay which has spilled onto social media. Ed Carpenter Racing driver Christian Rasmussen joins the show to discuss his strongest IndyCar season to date, which includes his recent first career podium at Gateway and a series of top 10s finishes. Christian recounts his strong showing at Laguna Seca and how he was on track to have a 7th-place day before dropping his tires off course and losing a couple of positions. He and Conor discuss their love for the highline at the short ovals this year, and how the IndyCar paddock has adopted an aggressive mentality as the season winds to a close. The guys also discuss their recent golf outing at Pebble Beach and other hobbies away from the track.

What if the Hat Man wasn't just watching…but hunting? When Charles was just three years old, he began having vivid nighttime encounters in his basement, where a formless being made of light would challenge him across the board. Around the same time, a crop circle mysteriously appeared beside his house, setting off a chain of eerie events that would haunt his family for years. However, when they moved to a new home on a road ominously named Devil's Elbow, things took a darker turn. Hooded figures on the roof, cult activity in the woods, and the Hat Man watching from the shadows, not alone, but with companions. What followed was a terrifying unraveling of reality, memory, and the thin veil between worlds. Please pray for Tony's wife, Lindsay, as she battles breast cancer. Your prayers make a difference! In this episode of Strength In Knowledge, we connect the dots between core stability and arm health in baseball pitchers. We dive into the recent study by DeZee and colleagues, which explores how lumbopelvic control during a simple step-down task relates to elbow-varus torque during pitching—an essential factor in UCL injury risk. The findings? A stable base may be just as critical as arm mechanics when it comes to protecting the elbow. We unpack what this means for movement assessments, injury prevention, and performance strategies in overhead athletes.
On Wednesday's episode of the Three-Inning Save podcast, Dodgers closer Tanner Scott was placed on the 15-day injured list with left elbow inflammation, the latest blow to a bullpen that has been busy all season. Also, Rich Hill is back in the majors. The 45-year-old former Dodgers pitcher was called up on Tuesday to start for the Royals, his 14th major league team to tie Edwin Jackson, also a former Dodger, for the most teams by any player in MLB history. Also, with the Phillies beating the Red Sox on walk-off catcher's interference on Monday night, it marked just the second such occurrence in MLB in the last 105 seasons. The last one was by the Dodgers, against the Reds on August 1, 1971, with Manny Mota daring to steal home and Johnny Bench behind the plate. Old friend Bob Timmermann wrote about bases-loaded catcher's interferences back in 2007 at The Griddle. The Three-Inning Save is part of the Fans First Sports Network. In this episode of the XS Noize Podcast, Mark Millar is joined by Peter Cunnah and Al Mackenzie — the pioneering duo behind D:Ream — to discuss their vibrant and defiant new album, Do It Anyway. Best known for their iconic #1 hit "Things Can Only Get Better," D:Ream became a cultural phenomenon throughout the '90s and beyond — from chart domination and BRIT Award nominations to political soundtracking and, most recently, going viral again at Glastonbury 2024 with Professor Brian Cox back on the keys. Now, with Do It Anyway — their first album in over a decade, out August 8 via Chrysalis — D:Ream return with a record bursting with fresh energy, clubland spirit, and sharp cultural commentary. Do It Anyway is a genre-hopping ride through electro-pop, trip-hop, gospel, broken beats, and dancefloor nostalgia. From the title track — rooted in a long-lost Kylie demo from the '90s — to politically charged cuts like The Geek Who Rules the World and Anthem for Change, the album bridges past and present with fearless creativity and purpose. In this wide-ranging conversation, Peter and Al open up about reconnecting with the rave-fuelled energy that first brought them together — and how they've kept that spark alive through decades of transformation. They explore the club culture that shaped their early sound, the stubborn creative drive that still fuels them, and the joy of collaborating with voices like Lisa Moorish, Ella B, TJ Davis, and Gemma Doherty. Tune in to Episode #237 of the XS Noize Podcast for a candid, funny, and inspiring deep dive into D:Ream's legacy, evolution, and bold new chapter. Beta Trip, the new project from Toronto multi-instrumentalist Steve Lewin, announces his debut full-length album Superette, out September 26 on Having Fun, the rock imprint of We Are Busy Bodies. The first advance single, “Juliet,” lands June 13 and offers a high-energy introduction to Lewin's matured sonic vision. Melodic, emotionally resonant, and firmly rooted in the atmospherics of Britpop and the grit of 90s alternative rock, “Juliet” kicks off a ten-track journey that bridges nostalgic textures with fresh perspective. It marks Lewin's return to his roots under the Beta Trip moniker, drawing influence from Elbow, Radiohead, and Pearl Jam. “Juliet” is a hook-heavy, propulsive alt-pop song that examines misguidance, both in others and in oneself, while leaning into themes of growth, perspective, and closure. With layered guitars, rich harmonies, and a melodic sensibility that balances grit and shimmer, the track brings a catchy collision of melody and drive. Though it carries the appearance of simplicity, “Juliet” was crafted over many years, performed for audiences across the world in varied ideations, but never recorded, until now. It finally came together amidst the reflection and recalibration that sparked Beta Trip, and in doing so, not only found its way onto Superette, but easily claimed itself as the lead single. The result sets the tone for an album that fuses introspection with anthemic energy. In this episode of the XS Noize Podcast, Mark Millar is joined by Gavin Rossdale — the iconic frontman of Bush — to discuss their powerful new album, I Beat Loneliness. Since bursting onto the scene in the early '90s with Sixteen Stone, Bush have become one of the most defining bands of the post-grunge era, selling over 20 million records worldwide and headlining stages across the globe. Now, on their 10th studio album, Gavin Rossdale and the band deliver some of their most urgent and personal work to date. I Beat Loneliness is a raw, defiant record that dives deep into themes of isolation, emotional endurance, and ultimately finding strength in vulnerability. From the fierce opener “Scars” to the anthemic title track and the poetic, socially charged “The Land of Milk and Honey,” the album showcases Bush's classic intensity while embracing new sonic textures and deeply personal storytelling. In this wide-ranging conversation, Gavin opens up about the emotional battles behind the songs, the cathartic power of turning pain into beauty, and the creative fire that keeps Bush evolving after nearly three decades. He also reflects on pivotal moments in his career and the excitement of embarking on a massive world tour with the new record. Deep South Women's Champion Gemma Jewels spoke with WrestleZone's Ella Jay about claiming the title after 40 years of vacancy, meeting former titleholder Joyce Grable, training with Eric Adamz and Nick Patrick, excitement for WWE Evolution in Atlanta, a spontaneous encounter with LA Knight & Bianca Belair, wrestling as Sailor Moon, trips to the Dominican Republic, and more!
Deborah Wolfe describes the meeting of 2000 + Dolphins off the coast of California swimming together in a giant mega pod with several species. What can this mean? What did Paul McCartney do for dogs? A listener asks ‘what does elbows up' mean to Canadians. #elbowsup! Deb Wolfe takes Mike Meyers quiet cheer on SNL (which has become a rallying cry to Canadians) to a bizarre silly level demanding Americans give the world its dogs back and replace them with Russian and Chinese breeds. Now, that's A Bad trade! How do Canadians feel about the recent Trump/Musk actions and tariffs? A bit like a spouse getting a surprise divorce and trying to start to date other people again. Some dog breeds have higher libido than others and that's why some breeds are overrepresented in the accidental mutt population. So don't worry, Mexico isn't gonna ask for its chihuahuas back! In fact, 1 mama dog and her puppies can produce 67,000 dogs in 6 years while 1 mama cat and her kittens can produce a whopping 420,000 cats in 7 years. Neuter & Spay is the way to go!
