Music festivals promise freedom, transcendence, and memories you'll treasure forever. That's why human beings have been gathering in the dark to drink, dance, lose their minds - and occasionally die - for thousands of years. This week, Chris and Ed follow the music festival from the frenzied worshippers of Dionysus and ancient beer-soaked ritual sites to Woodstock, Altamont, Woodstock '99, and Astroworld. Along the way they taste raw flesh, meet Hells Angels, dance through human sewage, and learn all about the the Satanic conspiracy theories that turned a preventable tragedy into an alleged portal to hell.SHOW NOTESBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/scared-all-the-time--7084296/support.Get the latest episodes of our bonus show NEW FEAR UNLOCKED -- and a whole lot more! -- by supporting the show on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/ScaredAllTheTime
In this episode of Concepts and Conversations, Coach Bryan takes listeners back to the unforgettable summers of 1998 and 1999—a time filled with anticipation, faith, friendship, young love, and memories that would remain with him for years to come.At the center of the story is TM Youth Camp, an experience that meant far more than simply spending a week away from home. From the excitement of preparing for camp and packing for the journey to traveling across multiple states and finally arriving at a place filled with familiar faces, new friendships, and endless possibilities, Bryan revisits what made those summers such an important part of his teenage years. But at fifteen years old, camp wasn't only about services, friendships, and spiritual experiences. It was also about navigating emotions he was still learning how to understand.Crushes felt more significant. Small moments carried enormous meaning. A conversation, a passing glance, or seeing someone from across the room could suddenly change everything you thought you knew about how the week was going to unfold. And then there was one girl.A girl who initially appeared for only a brief moment but somehow remained in Bryan's thoughts long after that moment had passed. What seemed insignificant at first would eventually become part of a much larger story—one involving unexpected feelings, difficult choices, unanswered questions, and the teenage belief that maybe, just maybe, he had found "the one."Looking back through the perspective of adulthood, Coach Bryan reflects not only on what happened, but on what those experiences taught him about attraction, expectations, faith, timing, and the way we interpret relationships when we're young.Filled with nostalgia, humor, reflection, and personal storytelling, this episode captures what it feels like to look back at a season when life seemed simpler—but every emotion felt enormous. Before adulthood. Before relationship coaching. Before the lessons that only time and experience could teach him. There was simply a teenage Bryan, TM Youth Camp, an unforgettable summer…and a story he never imagined he would still be telling nearly three decades later.

On 29th October 2022, 20,000 people were celebrating Halloween in the Itaewon neighbourhood of Seoul in South Korea. One particularly narrow street became very overcrowded, and a huge crush ensued, leading to the deaths of 153 people, with many more injured. A month later, we still don't know exactly what caused the crush. One of the theories out there is that a rumour spread in the crowd, leading them to believe that a celebrity was in a nearby bar. But a lot of blame has been apportioned to the authorities for poor planning and a slow response to events. A lot of people think that crowd crushes are down to a stampede of people running in panic and crushing others on the floor. Why do things get dangerous in such situations? Are crowd crushes rare or do they happen often? How can I protect myself and others if I end up in an overcrowded area? In under 3 minutes, we answer your questions!
In this episode of The Canadian Investor Podcast, we start with a quick look at the Bank of Canada’s latest rate decision and why the central bank is keeping policy steady while balancing economic weakness with inflation risks. We then dive into the reported buyout offer for PayPal from Stripe and Advent International, why the market appears skeptical the deal will go through, and whether the offer undervalues PayPal given its free cash flow. We also look at Lucid’s financial struggles, its cash burn, and why EV startups remain such difficult businesses to scale. From there, we break down another strong quarter from Aritzia, including impressive growth in the U.S., strong comparable sales, expanding gross margins, and why the company continues to stand out in retail. We also discuss MTY Food Group’s difficult quarter, its strategic review, and what slowing consumer traffic means for restaurant franchises. Finally, we cover Pepsi’s struggles with pricing and private-label competition, IBM’s surprise preliminary results and why the stock sold off sharply, and ASML’s strong quarter as AI-related demand drives spending on memory, lithography systems, and semiconductor capacity. You've been fitting in for so long, you've started to wonder if the full version of you was ever real. That is not a character flaw. It is a code, running underneath everything you do, protecting you from a threat that no longer exists in the room you are actually in. This is the fifth episode of season two of The Polymathic Perspective. There is a moment in this episode where a man sits across from Dov. Head down. Jaw tight. He is trying to find the words to admit he used to be a neo-Nazi recruiter. A true believer. A man who had stood in front of cameras advocating for the removal of Jews from the world. He does not know yet that Dov is Jewish. He looks up. And Dov is smiling. That moment is what genuine belonging looks like. Not agreement. Not forgiveness handed across a desk. A room where the worst of you is already on the table, and the other person is still there. Most of us have never had that kind of room. So we learned to fit in instead. And the code kept running. The same code crushes three entirely different things in three entirely different kinds of people. It crushes the ADHD mind, which spent its life in environments designed for a system it does not have, and learned to edit its own operating system into something the room could accommodate. It crushes nuance, in the tribally loyal person for whom exclusion registers as existential danger, and in every conversation flattened into a loyalty test at the moment nuance was needed most. It crushes paradoxical thinking, in the mind that can hold two truths simultaneously as a genuine cognitive achievement, and that learned early this complexity was too much for the room. Different neurologies. Different histories. Same code underneath. Same ask unmade.IN THIS EPISODE Oppenheimer at Trinity, at the peak, alone What the last four episodes were mapping Welcome to The Polymathic Perspective Five lenses on fitting in versus belonging Why belonging is not the problem The question this episode is built around The thesis, three minds, one code How the code runs through ADHD, loyalty, and paradox Which of the three landed in your body Personal scale, the ask that requires the unedited self Nokia's touchscreen prototype and the culture that could not receive it Intelligence, flattening, and the rooms that need clear eyes What happens to a person after years of fitting in Contextual adjustment is not the same as fitting in Tony McAleer and the impossible moment of belonging What actually helps, in this order Oppenheimer at the peak of his fitting in What to carry into your week Did he ever know who he actually was? THIS SERIES What We Want But Refuse To Accept is a ten-episode arc. Episodes one through three mapped the phenomenon and the cage. Episode four named the operating system. Episode five shows what the system crushes in three different kinds of minds. Next episode: Luck, Merit, and the Stories We Tell About Deserving.

What is going on with the return of the super-skinny celebrity trend we thought we left back in the '90s? From red carpets to social media feeds, a new wave of dramatic weight loss has many women wondering if we're headed back to the era of heroin chic, crash diets, and impossible beauty standards. For those of us who grew up during the Kate Moss years, it feels eerily familiar—and frankly, a little alarming. In this episode of The Real Dish, Mareya takes a closer look at the cultural obsession with being thin and asks a more important question: What is it costing us? As celebrities grow visibly smaller, women everywhere are being sold the same old message in a new package—that thinner is better. But science tells a different story. Muscle, not skinniness, is one of the greatest predictors of longevity, independence, metabolic health, and quality of life as we age. Mareya shares her personal journey from growing up in the age of diet culture to becoming a passionate advocate for strength, resilience, and healthy aging. She also tackles the rise of GLP-1 medications, what happens when appetite disappears but nutritional needs don't, and why so many women are unknowingly sacrificing muscle in pursuit of a smaller number on the scale. If you're tired of shrinking yourself and ready to build a body that supports the life you want to live, this episode is for you. Because the goal was never to be skinny. The goal is to be strong. In this episode: Why the return of extreme thinness should concern women How the Kate Moss era shaped a generation's relationship with food and body image The surprising link between muscle and longevity What women need to know about GLP-1 medications and muscle loss Why protein becomes more important after 40 Strength training strategies for every age and fitness level How to measure progress beyond the scale What it means to age with power, not fear It's time to stop chasing smaller and start building stronger. Your future self will thank you.

HUGE WIN for the America First movement! President Trump just delivered another decisive blow to the Washington establishment, as Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton crushed RINO Senator John Cornyn in a massive 27-point landslide. Paxton destroyed Cornyn 64% to 36% in the Texas Republican Senate primary runoff — proving once again that Trump's endorsement is unstoppable and the Republican base is demanding real fighters, not career politicians. This runoff victory further proves that President Trump remains the most powerful force in Republican politics. While Washington insiders and moderate Republicans warned against backing Paxton, the voters of Texas overwhelmingly chose the fighter who stood with Trump over the longtime establishment senator. Jimmy and Americans' Comedian Kurt Metzger discuss a recent interview on Israeli Channel 13 in which Tucker Carlson delivered a "master class" dismantling Zionist talking points, telling the anchor that Israel "just murdered thousands of children in Gaza" and should "pause before using the phrase terror regime," while also noting that Israel is "not a democracy in any sense" since millions live under Israeli control without the right to vote. When the Israeli anchor suggested that Netanyahu could not have "dragged" Trump into the Iran war, Carlson responded simply, "I saw it happen," implying blackmail or coercion—and called Trump "weak" for folding under pressure from Netanyahu and his US donors. Carlson argued that the US has no obligation to send weapons or lend military and diplomatic cover to Israel, and that no one has ever answered why that obligation exists, adding that America's standing in the world has "declined" because it is "implicated in some of the many crimes Israel has committed." The Israeli newspaper Haaretz later wrote that Carlson's interview contained "only truths" and that "there wasn't one word that wasn't true," calling it a "perfect mirror" that evoked fury because it proposed an "alternative agenda to Israeli media: speak the truth." Plus segments on Jewish Zionist-supporting columnist John Podhoretz spreading antisemitic tropes and Mark Zuckerberg caught on tape explaining his diabolical plan to replace workers with AI. Also featuring Stef Zamorano and Mike MacRae. And a phone call from JD Vance and his personal handler!
Republican *Ken Paxton* preaches the Ten Commandments while committing adultery. *Trump's* at Walter Reed again. And the Republican map eraser works overtime. *IN THIS EPISODE:* ▪️ Paxton wants the Ten Commandments in every Texas classroom — his wife filed for divorce citing adultery on "biblical grounds." ▪️ Paxton was impeached on 20 articles. Not exonerated — he pled out. Paid $300,000. ▪️ Trump makes his third trip to Walter Reed since returning to office. No one's explaining why. ▪️ A federal judge wrote TWICE that Trump raped E. Jean Carroll. ABC paid $20 million to avoid saying so on air. ▪️ South Carolina Republicans tried to erase James Clyburn's congressional seat. The GOP is appealing. ▪️ Florida: Four Democratic seats erased by Republican remapping. A judge refused to block it. ▪️ The Texas Senate runoff — Paxton vs. Cornyn — and what it tells you about Trump's grip on Republican voters. *KEY FIGURES COVERED:* Ken Paxton • John Cornyn • James Talarico • Donald Trump • E.
